Fantastic experience: Went there 1st of all with poor teeth that my NHS dentist wanted to pull out . Gary has help keep and repair all my teeth to a great standard , were I have little or no black fillings showing and given me an overall white smile again. Always gives best advise for patient

Negative experience: I have been attending this practice for some 20 years but recently the overall standards have fallen . I was seen 15 minutes late ( which is perhaps understandable) I was scheduled for a 15 minute check-up which actually took about 7 minutes and i dont think it was as thorough as it used to be - for example the dentist did not check under my tongue as has happened in the past On my previous visit I had been gather a rather vague diagnosis about the possible need for a filling . I didnt follow up on this as it seemed there was no need . On this visit I was told that it was now essential and that it would cost £250 - £30 more than the previous quote which had apparently expired a few days earlier . Prices rising exponentially , quality of treatment falling exponentially . Not a great recipe and very disappointing after so many years of never having needed to complain about anything

Negative experience: I have been with Hartley Dental Practice for 35 years. The Dentist Mr Dorman has always been very polite and very pleasant as well as an extremely good Dentist. However, the same cannot be said for the current receptionists. One of them cancelled my August appointment in February of this year without letting me know and then said that I had cancelled it myself when I turned up on the cancelled date. I know that is untrue as we were all on lockdown and no one including me, was going anywhere. After complaining they changed their story to they had cancelled it and I had acknowledged it - again untrue it would have been on my phone if this were true. When I finally attended my appointment the blonde receptionist was very gobby and arrogant when I asked her if she had got the correct person this time. Whatever they have got on their system is what THEY have put on it not me! She still insisted that she was right and I was wrong! It seems that the customer is always wrong at this practice.

Fantastic experience: I recently had an appointment with Heidi as my previous dentist, Gary, has now retired. I found that she was very thorough using both x-rays and photographs of what she identified as needing work. Her whole demeanour was lovely, especially making sure that I understood what needed doing now, or in the near future. No problem, I was shown the photos as proof. My concern was though, why hadn't any of this been identified on my previous visits, it can't all have occurred in just the last year. Although it's my choice what I have done, the full Monty is in excess of £2000, which did come as a bit of a shock when I thought there was very little wrong before I got there.

Fantastic experience: I have been at the HDP for over 50 years under different ownership but for the last 30 years or so I have been seen by Gary Doorman who has excelled and made me very comfortable on each visit. With him now taking a backseat role I have had the pleasure to meet Milan who is continuing to keep the calm on each visit. I have a tooth extraction in the morning. Not something I look forward to but, I feel reassured that Milan will do what’s needed to get us both through to the end.

Fantastic experience: I made my first visit yesterday and my friend Gerry Read recommended me to see Milan. From the moment Sarah answered the telephone to book my appointment I was made to feel welcome and at ease. When I arrived yesterday first impressions really do count and all the ladies I saw in reception were welcoming and I was made to feel immediately relaxed and at ease. I was shown in to meet Milan and he examined my broken tooth, took x rays and then explained every option available to me. He was clear and precise and the outcome was to have the tooth removed today and proceed with a bridge. He made me feel very relaxed, as did the assisting nurse and my tooth was removed painlessly and quickly. I look forward to future visits further down the line and will not hesitate to recommend the practice to all my family and friends.

Fantastic experience: Lost a piece of tooth and filling leaving a sharp nasty hole which was decayed. Dentist Sandeep cleaned it all up, refilling and rebuilding the tooth leaving it looking like a new tooth. Very pleased with result.

Fantastic experience: After a few years without visiting a dentist I finally had to make an appointment as my toothache was unbearable. I feared I’d have to have so much work done and would be ridiculed for not keeping regular check ups. My dentist, Johanna was so good, fast and painless. My teeth were sorted in 3 visits including the hygienist. And ever since have been no problem. What was once a fearsome experience is now a pleasant friendly one. After a crown was fitted Johanna even called the next day to see if I was ok. Great team I highly recommend this practice. Johanna moved on and I was transferred to a new dentist, Milan, he’s nee to me but already established at the practice for some time. Again another great experience, with the practice going above and beyond during the lockdown to give advice and medication when I had a toothache and my only other option was an extraction by emergency dentist as there was no visits allowed that time. Those actions saved my tooth. I really can not recommend this dentist high enough to do them justice.

Fantastic experience: Visited 29 May 2024, the 7th & 15th June 2024 I just want to say a massive thank you to Heidi Ells. My crown became loose and the team fitted me in that afternoon with Heidi. Whilst waiting to see her my crown fell out (I mean perfect timing all things considered!) Heidi examined and unfortunately the crown pins had snapped so there wasn't anything she could do....being a front tooth I was quite mortified! However, she x-ray and said the remaining tooth was good enough to fit a new crown but I would need root canal first and a 1 ½ hour appointment. They booked me in a week later. We started the root canal but my tooth was really really sensitive. So she stopped and gave me more local anaesthetic. Again, still painful. So more anaesthetic. I'm one of those people who needs a considerable amount anaesthetic. Procedure continued, no pain , hoorah! Root canal done, Impressions taken, temporary crown fitted. At no point did I feel like I was wasting time or holding up her schedule. She spoke to me throughout and checked on my frequently. 10 days later my new crown was fitted and it looks amazing. Thank you so much to Heidi and all the team at Hartley Dental. Amazing team About my previous Dental Experience When i was younger, i had a very experience with a dentist that left me physically and mentally scarred, so much so that i would not see the dentist unless i was in pain. This all changed when i was introduced to Hartley Dental Practice and had an appointment with Gary Dorman, who instantly changed my mindset and reduced my anxiety and eventually eradicated my fears; so much so that I even opted to have some cosmetic work done to fix an issue. I have always found the standards of care and quality of work to be outstanding. Staff have always been exceptional in accommodating my needs and i always able to see the dentist if i am having any problems even throughout the pandemic. The practice always find and implement innovative new ideas in dentistry and lead the way in identifying new products for us to use. Even offering aesthetic procedures such as Botox & more. I can highly recommend The Hartley Dental Practice as a dental surgery who know the meaning of customer service, using traditional values of patient care; this mixed with modern premises, friendly staff and a value for money service that, in my opinion, is unmatched. Fantastic experience: Dr Sandeep Sagoo recently performed an extraction on a wisdom tooth and I couldn’t recommend her more. After an experience earlier at another practice I was really nervous and anxious about the recovery as I had previously experienced a lot of bleeding, bruising and two courses of antibiotics but oh my goodness not an ounce of blood from the minute I left the surgery. She was extremely professional, confident and friendly, putting me at ease but acknowledging my nerves and reassuring me. Thank you so much Dr Sagoo!!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this dental practice for several years and over this period have been treated by a few of the staff who work there. I have to say all the staff have been friendly and professional. I consider the service I have received has been excellent over all. Perhaps ironically, it’s when one treatment suffered a bit of a hiccup that I was most impressed! A difficult extraction needed some follow up work. The issues that arose was dealt with promptly and the practice continued to keep in contact and ensure the matter was resolved to my satisfaction. I would not hesitate to recommend the practice.

Fantastic experience: Latest experience at Hartley Dental Practice was as painless and stress free as ever. Crown preparation was difficult for Heidi, but she and Angelica worked patiently and calmly and completed the procedure. As usual, the appointment was conducted most professionally and expertly and was almost pleasurable for me!! Dentistry has come a long way since the 1950s (!) and, for me, no longer holds any fear. My treatment ends soon, and strangely I shall miss my short walk up the hill to meet with Heidi and the team.
