Fantastic experience: This was the 1st time going to a dentist in over 20 years. I was a bag of nerves and could quite easily have walked out. However, Sarah put me at ease as soon as I entered and Colin was amazing once I was in the chair. Everything was explained carefully and I was allowed several rest breaks when I needed one. Everything has changed so much since my last dental appointment, and I feel able now to return for my next appointment. Still apprehensive, but a lot calmer.

Fantastic experience: Can’t recommend the dentist enough, friendly, caring, gives good explanations and the workmanship is second to none. Had two white fillings, no pain during the procedure, yes it’s uncomfortable having your mouth open but it was most comfortable fillings I’ve had. They blend in well and look superb.

Fantastic experience: I visited Colin and his team this week for what I hoped would be a routine exam. The morning of, you guessed it, toothache began on one of my teeth I had not identified as having an issue with before. This was my first visit to this practice although my husband had visited before and found Colin thorough and pleasant. During my visit, Colin and his wonderful nurse were brilliant. He is calm, patient, reassuring, super thorough and clearly wants the best for his patients. I was referred to an endodontist, they called me the same day and the sense I had from them was mirrored, very lovely energy and a confidence in their work that made me feel relaxed. Thorpe Lea Dental has a good vibe, very clean. Thank you Colin and all of your team at the practice.

Fantastic experience: I recently visited Thorpe Lea for a dental check up/restorative treatment and a separate hygiene appointment. I had a pleasant experience on both occasions. The team are professional, friendly and welcoming. They use the latest technology (3D scans and imaging) to give you a fully comprehensive view of your teeth. They take the time to explain and ensure that you understand your dental health. Also they make you feel very comfortable whilst they are working on your teeth.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Thorpe Lea Dental Practice for over 20 years. Having previously been phobic about Dentists. However, in Colin I have found a dentist that is caring, professional and exceptional at what he does! I moved to Oxfordshire 15 years ago, but gladly make the 100+ mile round trip to Staines for my dental work!.

Fantastic experience: My dental appointment on the 13 of May was something different but also with an amazing result. A three hour appointment is not something to be taken lightly but my previous experience with James gave me confidence that it would be completely worthwhile and justified. The result was quite amazing and carried out painlessly and I can't praise or thank James for the result.

They looked at all my teeth to make sure they were healthy, took photos to see if one of my adult teeth which I accidentally hit it is ok. It wasn't the most exciting thing ever, but it's important to have healthy teeth. I'm glad it's over, and my teeth feel ok. James told me I'm doing a good job brushing (which I am!). Maybe next time they'll have even cooler stickers! ➡️

Fantastic experience: Recently, I switched to Thorp Lea Dental Clinic, and I couldn’t be more impressed. Dr. Colin and his team are truly outstanding in both professionalism and care. Before choosing this clinic, I called several dental practices for appointments. Colin’s receptionist stood out immediately — warm, attentive, and clearly passionate about her work. It was evident she wasn't just doing a job, but truly felt part of the clinic’s mission. My first visit was a real eye-opener. Having seen four different dentists in England over the past 15 years, I’ve never experienced anything like this. Dr. Colin used advanced technology to take photos and create a 3D image of my teeth — an incredibly useful and insightful process. He also provided a thorough hygiene treatment. What impressed me most was the time he took to educate me. No one had ever explained flossing techniques so clearly before — like using a C-shape to reach below the gum line, or bending the brush for those tight gaps between teeth. Dr. Colin was patient, humble, sincere, and cheerful throughout. He also performed a filling and wisdom tooth extraction for me. I was nervous, especially about the extraction, but to my surprise, there was not much pain or bleeding afterwards. That same evening, Dr. Colin personally called me to check on how I was feeling. He used his own mobile number and offered support if I needed anything — I was deeply touched by his kindness and thoughtfulness. I am genuinely impressed by Dr. Colin and his team. They are not only highly skilled but also compassionate and attentive. Fantastic experience: Just hear me out. I know going to the dentist is a frustrating activity for most people, including myself. I just want you to know that I have suffered damage by dentists and dread seeing a dentist. However James is not a dentist, that guy is a magician, he saved me from wisdom tooth surgery, and fixed 6 other damaged teeth. I have seen scans and photos of the teeth before and after and I do not know he saved them. After my treatment is finished I can gladly state I am very pleased with the treatment as Thorpe is my favourite clinic and the entire process was smooth sailing. Fantastic experience: I would just Like to thank the wonderful staff at Thorpe Lee Dental and in particular my Dentist. I went in for a crown mould, but didn't realise that it was a relaxation escape package as well. Colin had put me in such a relaxed state, that I had 2 micro naps throughout the procedure. Fantastic experience: We have been with Thorpe Lea Dental for a number of years and they are amazing. Both of my children have had to have dental work done and James is so patient with them and explains every step of the procedure making sure they are comfortable with what is happening. During the pandemic, they were available over the phone and by email making sure that any problems were dealt with as quickly as possible. Referrals to hospital and to the orthodontist have always been quick and well explained and any questions you have are answered fully and with kindness. If you are nervous about dental treatment, this is the practice for you. If I could give them more stars, I would.

Fantastic experience: I have been with this dentist since Feb 2021. They are the best practice i have been to. From the dentist, hygienist to receptionists, everyone is friendly, efficient, professional and when they can be, accommodating. Over the weekend 20-22nd Sept 2024 i had my gum flare up in the upper left jaw which was aggravating the surrounding teeth . I called them 8.20 Monday morning and was able to get an appt for 11am the same day. James took x-rays, explained what needed to be done, did it and greatly reduced the pain. I am part of their monthly plan and so there was nothing to pay which was a relief. I have a second appt on Wednesday 25/09/24 (a prearranged appt) and that too is included in the plan. The gum is less swollen and i can eat on that side but more slowly and gently. Highly recommend this team.10/10

They were polite and calm. They gave me an x-ray with instant results which they then show you on a big screen, explained everything about the X-ray and about the treatment and then carried it out. Fantastic experience: Just had my first ever filling at Thorpe Lea Dental by Colin and Teri, I was really nervous because I had a very bad, painful experience at a different dentist years ago having some teeth out. Colin and Teri did such a fantastic job, I didn’t even know he’d done the injections. They made sure I was comfortable all the way through. He showed me a photo of the filling at the end and you can’t even tell there’s a filling there, just looks like a fresh tooth. I definitely won’t be nervous having work done by them in the future.

Fantastic experience: Was able to be seen the same day and start treatment- James is really kind, thorough and professional. An x-ray was requested at another location and I received a call to book that in on my way home! Am really nervous about having an extraction, but feel that I’m in really safe hands with James! Update: I had the extraction yesterday and was petrified driving to the practice. James and his team were so kind and patient with me and made me feel completely reassured throughout with (literal) hand holding. Nobody wants a tooth extraction, but I can’t imagine a better place to have one.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming for over 20 years and have seen all the improvements and up to date equipment they use. This time you also get to watch the TV! James did my usual examination and cleaning and went through any potential problems. The staff are all very friendly and smart in their matching uniforms. Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Thorpe Lea Dental highly enough. Having had some poorly fitted crowns at another practice. I’d gone for years too ashamed of the condition of my mouth and too anxious to go to another dentist. I got to the point that the crowns and my teeth underneath were moving and cracking constantly when I ate and I was always so worried they would fall out. I used to spend hours everyday worrying about my teeth and as I hated the look of them, I’d neglected my oral hygiene and had severe periodontal disease. A colleague at work recommended Colin at Thorpe Lea dental. It took me an age to pluck up the courage to make an appointment. When I walked in to Colin’s office he handed me a mirror and asked me what I would change about my smile. I couldn’t look in the mirror I hadn’t looked at my teeth for years by then. I burst in to tears. Colin was honest with me about the condition of my gums and the prognosis for my front bottom crowned teeth I had no bone left to support them and they had to go. I was in my early 40s and the thought of no teeth and limited options on replacements due to my bone loss was initially really scary. Colin came up with a plan to stabilise my other teeth the crowns were removed and replaced with a temporary denture and later a fixed bridge. After thorough cleaning work my teeth were secure again and I could start to look in the mirror. The hours a day spent worrying about my teeth were over. I actually now didn’t dread going to the dentist. Colin was always honest with me in terms of setting my expectations that I would always have compromises but I love my teeth now compared to what I had before and I smile and laugh without hiding behind my hand. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough. If you’re a nervous patient or even if you have like me been guilty in the past of neglecting your oral hygiene they will guide you through without judgement. I’ve had a number of procedures done by Colin and none of them have been painful. All the other staff are lovely too and always make you feel so welcome.

I wouldn't say I was nervous about the procedures that needed doing on my teeth, but I certainly did not know what to expect. The dentist who treated me was James Gartshore - a friendly and informative man. He guided me through what procedures needed doing, using some very clever photographic technology. Fantastic experience: Unless you are someone that has had “dental phobia” along with suffering from “bad teeth” your entire life ie constant toothache and broken teeth, you won’t fully understand the significance of finding someone that you trust to give you the best advice, someone that you trust not to hurt you, or push you too hard, someone that will take things at your own pace and someone that won’t judge you! It’s been a journey over the years getting my teeth to where they are now, and there have been some tears along the way for sure. His nurse, Pasang, is my hero, she’s so considerate of my nervousness and keeps me going when I just want to stop half way through the appointment! I’m so pleased with my new smile, it’s so nice being able to eat and drink without being in pain. There aren’t enough words to convey the difference Colin has made to the way I view “getting in the chair” and giving me the confidence to smile with my teeth. I can’t imagine where I’d be right now if I hadn’t found him when I did!

Fantastic experience: I have been looking for a dentist in my local area after two years of very poor dental care with a practice in shepperton. Thorpe Lea Dental Practice was recommened to me and I was not disappointed. From the receptionist, to the practice manager and my dentist, the patient care and thorough inspection of my teeth was way more than I have ever received and I felt that Colin was absolutely focussed on me as person, my needs and not on the financial possibilities of my dental care. I am very nervous of going to the dentist, but I now feel that I can be confident my dental care and any anxiety related to any future appointments will be handled with care and consideration to make my experience as pleasant as possible.
