Fantastic experience: I recently went for my first hygiene appointment with a lovely dentist called Pooja. It was my first hygiene appointment and i was quite nervous but she talked me through the whole procedure before she started to make me feel more relaxed and she ensured that i was feeling okay during the procedure. Afterwards she gave me lots of informative advice on how to better look after my teeth. Thank you Pooja, you were amazing!!

Negative experience: Have been a patient there for 2 years and have held my thoughts in about this place so far. However, after my last visit, that was completely a waste of my time, I have decided not to return there. Went to my appointment 10 min earlier, been held at the reception because it took the girl 15 min to take a payment and book a new appointment for a patient before me, a guy came, and instead of acknowledging me, he started to answer phone calls. When I finally been seen by a dentist, I've been told, it was just a check up and if I want to do a filling, I have to book another appointment. When I asked why, he said there are other people waiting and I was late (!!!). Excuse me, I was early, receptionists need to learn their job and multi task, and, said dentist, some general manners and not accuse patients of being late! This was just the latest issue but in general this place is only good if you need a dentist for a tick not for an actual job to be done.

Fantastic experience: I broke my front tooth on holiday—peak dental drama. Luckily, this clinic was open on a Sunday and accepted me without an appointment. The dentist confirmed it couldn’t be reattached, but kindly gave me a temporary fix so I could survive the rest of my trip with dignity. Of course, the repair is fragile—I was advised not to bite anything hard, and I know it could break again at any time—but that’s totally understandable given it’s just a temporary solution. Everyone was kind, skilled, and impressively straight-faced when they saw the damage. Thank you for saving both my smile and my ego!

Negative experience: Was never a dentist available on the day of for an appointment and they never told you till you arrived, told them I was leaving now they're harassing me to come back and make an appointment

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting place, you should be ashamed of yourselves of how you made a young girl feel at her appointment, not only did you make her feel uncomfortable during her consultation, you also embarrassed her in front of numerous patients in the waiting room. In adequate, inept & poor customer service. you dont even deserve 1 star!

Negative experience: I wish I could rate these guys 0/5. Their customer service is lacklustre, and they are the most disorganised people I've encountered. (I left the building, and 5 minutes later, they asked me to come back in.) You should know your policies and not give customers misinformation. I will not be going back and will be changing my dentist...

I had only had treatment with sedation before but was totally awake with no panic attack. Highly recommended them!

Negative experience: Dreadful experience. Conflicting advice between the ‘Therapists’ and the actual qualified Dentist (who also cut my tongue with the drill). Requested refund for treatment paid in advance that Therapist said was required, but Dentist said I didn’t need! Refund never arrived until I complained to NHS ICB and got involved This practice has given me a real fear of the Dentist now. Their receptionist is very rude and not trained efficiently either. Absolutely awful!

Negative experience: Honestly if i could give less stars I would, I have been waiting to have my wisdom tooth removed now for almost 3 months due to the incompetence of this surgery. I was first given an appointment in February to see the dental therapist, after being told there was nothing they could do they booked an appointment for me to see the senior dentist to have my tooth removed. 3 weeks later on the day of that appointment I attended the practice to be told the dentist doesn't work on Monday's and was rebooked for 2 weeks after on a SUNDAY. Arrived that sunday morning to be told by the senior dentist that he is unable to do it as i need to be given general anaesthetic and i need to be referred again for removal at the hospital... They have failed this as i am now being sent to have it pulled by a senior dentist. A negligence claim is currently being made. FIND ANOTHER DENTIST

Negative experience: Absolutely fuming. After 2 months with no teeth they ring me literally the day before my denture fitting app to tell me the dentist is on vacation and they need to cancel my appointment and can't rebook till June. Mind you my appointment has been booked since they ripped my teeth out in January. So unprofessional. Don't understand how they think this is acceptable to treat their patients this way. My confidence has been thrown, I won't go out. I'm so conscious of it that it's depressing me. Just Swan off on vacation when you know you have patients to deal with. Not impressed and will be making a formal complaint

Positive experience: First check up appointment was booked at 3:45pm I had to wait an hour to be seen but I had a follow up appointment to have a filling and the dental guy is lovely and knows what he’s doing but the people who work with him need more experience, The receptionists don’t have a clue what your talking about sometimes and the place needs some repair work done…also I needed a night mouthguard moulded and the first one failed then I had to make another appointment to get another moulding done now I’ve been waiting over a month to get my night mouthguard now to be told that I need to attend the whitehawk southcliff dental clinic to see if it feels ok on my teeth

Positive experience: I've been visiting this clinic for over three years since it first opened as both NHS and Private patient. However, the service has declined significantly. The receptionists are rude and unprofessional, often making mistakes they refuse to correct without a manager—who is never available when needed. They also ignore emails and leave patients waiting endlessly on calls, even when first in the queue. Sadly, it's time to move on from this clinic Update - New manager Aisshvarya has joined, I believe she knows the ongoing issues with the clinic and necessary actions would be taken, updating my review to 3 star from 1

Fantastic experience: They managed to take me on as a NHS patient. I had some serious chips and cracks so fillings were needed. Hadn't seen a dentist in over 5 years due to some really negative experiences in the past but Namitha (the dentist) was really kind, helpful, understanding and carried out all the procedures gently and quickly. The building itself is pretty small but it's clean and the staff are really friendly.

Negative experience: Really bad I went for a free consultation and now they charging me when no treatment were done!

Positive experience: Sean the dentist has done a great job on sorting out some fillings that I needed. I didn’t feel rushed and he checked on me throughout. Booked my check up for 6 months time. Would highly recommend. I took off 1 star as the waiting area is a bit tired, small and gets the sun so a bit warm - although I didn’t wait long as appointment started on time. But the service is 5 out of 5.

Negative experience: I would give zero stars if I could. No longer a patient at this surgery. It is better to be without a dentist than go here. I went for a check up on the 3/2/2025. I arrived early as I needed the toilet. The toilet was really dirty, handwash has been watered down so much it runs out like water. Corridor's dirty. I witnessed 2 people come in only to be told the person they were there to see wasn't there. No one had told them not to come. They had a wasted journey. Another lady said she had been in pain since December. But was told there were no dentists working and would she like to see a therapist. She said "this is the worst dental practice she had been to" and filled out a complaint form. When I went into the room I was told that the hygienist would be doing my check up and if I needed to have anything done they would refer me to a dentist. I only ever had 3 check up appointments there but never saw the same dentist twice. The first dentist told me that all my teeth have decay and she said that when I have something sweet or acidic to have some cheese or some yogurt as this will neutralise it. The second dentist ( a different one to the first ) said none of my teeth had decay. When I told her what the first dentist had said about the cheese and yogurt she couldn't believe it. She said "no, they've got lactic acid". Before I left I did make another check up appointment for August and a hygienist appointment for the 15/2/2025. However, thinking over everything I really don't have any faith in this practice. I went back less than 24 hours after making the hygienist appointment ( you have to pay £70 in advance for the hygienist ) and check up appointment to cancel both. I filled out a refund form but it is now 26/2/25 and despite having phoned and emailed several times no £70 refund. Also when I looked at the name of the person who they had booked my August check up with it was with the hygienist again. Surely it should be with a dentist. A dental practice with no dentists.

Fantastic experience: Very professional and timely hygienist service. Seun the therapist was efficient and very gentle to my sensitive teeth, Sofia the Nurse was very friendly. The best have had in Brighton. Warmly recommend.

Positive experience: Great dentist, teeth are much better now and visibly brighter. My only issue is that everytime I've gone they are running late and it feels like they rush sometimes. Once waited 40min for my appointment. Other than that, fantastic.

Fantastic experience: What a fantastic dentist, Akken Anil restored my faith in dentists after a really bad experience with my previous one. He removed the tooth my last dentist messed up, fitted a Maryland bridge, and my life can now go on. I would totally recommend Aklen and the team of people around him to anyone they are all great to deal with.

Negative experience: What a dirty, smelly little place. Receptionist’s are always rude, they make you feel unwanted and uncomfortable. Almost like THEY don’t even want to be there. Always such a long wait for the appointment. My son had an appointment at 10am and we wasn’t seen until 10:47 baring in mind it’s a school day too. The dental nurse seemed loved however his assistant didn’t have a clue what she was doing. I don’t even know why she was there. She didn’t understand very simply tasks and it was annoying for us all to sit and watch. Just having her sitting there watching made my son and I feel strange/uncomfortable.

Negative experience: Came in a couple weeks back- staff were unhelpful and unwelcoming, and front desk was unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: Just come from having some dental work with Bulti Yadav at the dentist who is always very friendly and helpful and would highly recommend if you have any fears of going to the dentist

Negative experience: If I could award zero stars, I absolutely would. As someone with agoraphobia working hard to improve, leaving the house is already a Herculean task for me. I've had to cancel appointments twice before, but always informed the clinic in advance. Today, I tried to attend again, only to experience a debilitating panic attack. When I managed the nearly impossible feat of contacting the clinic by phone, I calmly explained my situation to the receptionist. Her response? Informing me I'd now need to be seen as a private patient, which I agreed to without hesitation. Instead of continuing the conversation professionally, she hung up on me. Yes, hung up—without warning or explanation. Frankly, the clinic must have scraped the absolute bottom of the hiring barrel to land this particular receptionist. Despite my being polite and composed, she couldn’t muster the basic decency to respond in kind. Given the number of reviews highlighting her poor behavior, it’s clear my experience is far from unique. It’s a shame because the dentists themselves are wonderful—kind, caring, and thoroughly professional. I've been a patient here for over two years and would gladly give the clinic five stars if their front desk staff weren’t so staggeringly inept and rude. Unfortunately, this receptionist single-handedly obliterated any hope of that rating. Also on a side note, be warned about the reviews for this place. Tons of new 5star review yet all the reviewers have only reviewed stuff in Lagos prior to them leaving a review to southcliff. Bit weird I must say. Maybe paid for reviews

Fantastic experience: Im really happy with south cliff dentist. They have been so good with my children, always explaining everything they are going to do in a child friendly manor. I've never had any problem with the practice. Appointments are on time with the odd occasion, never waited more than 10 mins. I would highly recommend them.

Negative experience: The female receptionist is very very rude - told me I would be taken off books of I didnt book next appointment also. My partner was rudely spoken about also, while she sat waiting to be greeted- the rude receptionist told her younger male colleague, that she was late and how she would have a word with her when she arrived. My partner was disgusted. To have this type of person on a customer facing front of house role is attrocious. It is a real shame as the dentists are great as well as the hygienists - just a little keen to try and upsell treatments you while in the chair... stings of profiteering tbh. Since previous review- 2 cancelled bookings . Treatment prices which seem to be made up on the spot and differ everytime you speak to someone different. Up front costs demanded. Receptionist laughing at my questioning the newly hugely inflated price hikes. Very very dismissive manner even from NEW dentist. As soon as I can change I will be leaving this practice. The absolute pits. So a year later and YET again 50 minutes late for check up and a week later 45 mins late for hygienist appointment. The place is even worse than previous review. New rude dentist and staff arguing openly in reception absolutely unreal. Most recent appointment was a staggering 1.5 hrs late. Sat in reception while members of the clinical team peer sheepishly round the corner. Receptionist kept running away and whispering to colleagues. The whole place is beyond a joke.

Positive experience: I’m usually very scared of going to dentist and I got really tense, but the therapist and her assistant was very nice, always asking me how I was feeling and making me feel comfortable and safe. I’m really thankful for the work done. I just took one star because of the reception. Last time I was there I simply asked if they accept American Express on their card machine (which not every place accepts), and she firmly says “try it” rolling her eyes… I could see that she was stressed with something else, but she didn’t need to be rude with me.

Positive experience: I had a very deep filling to be filled and the Nigerian dentist was very professional and good, although with the place itself is poor , broken guttering and holes in the wall isn't a great look
