Fantastic experience: I had bad infection in my gum. Got an almost immediate appointment and got x-ray and then some antibiotics, also given another appointment to get offending bit of tooth root out of my gum. They are always brilliant

Positive experience: I suffered an extremely painful abcess under a tooth whilst on holiday in Aberdeen which threatened to ruin our holiday. I was able to source an emergency appt at this practice for an examination, the tooth required an extraction. Unfortunately it did not go well, after receiving multiple painful injections into the affected area the dentist pushed and pulled but was unable to pull the tooth out due to the extreme pain it was causing. I was disappointed that I now had to leave the dentist and face a 400 mile drive home to Sth Yorks the next day in agony as the pain was now even worse than before. I was only charged a modest amount so I was ok with that. I felt very unwell after leaving the dentists chair and had to rest in the waiting room for some time to recover from the ordeal. However, I cannot praise the staff enough, 5 stars for them. They were very caring, kind and helpful, making sure I was ok before I left. I only docked a star because I felt I was injected too many times and it caused me to feel very unwell for the next 24hrs.

Negative experience: Not a positive experience with this dental practice.Been registered for few years(about 8-9years) but I went there only for a few appointments.Last one was after few months I gave birth…I had developed strong toothache during pregnancy and I was given emergency appointment in Aberdeen by Nhs.Treated my tooth there and a temporary filling was applied with the mention to go back to my dentist after giving birth and get my tooth done.Which I done and the treatment offered was to take out my tooth…of course I was not happy after my whole pregnancy was absolutely fine no pain,no swelling…Anyway root canal treatment was tried and ended up on antibiotics with a huge abscess with the recommendation if is getting worse and I can not breath to go to A&E…So after all I had to accept the situation and that the things did not go how I wanted thinking in my mind the dentist tried to do everything he could to treat and save my tooth….Since that time he refused to see me again being unaware of this.I figure out when I had some small issue with one of my implants when the filling came off and I was told to go to do it where it was done(that means abroad…) and just now when and I got a letter for check up appointment saying that I have not been there for about two years…So this dental practice should stop sending letters to the people they do not want to see…Going through to the reviews it seems I am the only patient who got such a disappointing treatment…and no interest to make the things any better…

Fantastic experience: Appointment at short notice for a lost filing. Complicated by the fact that I was undergoing Chemotherapy. Receptionist staff worked hard to find an appropriate appointment. Dentist repaired the tooth in a single visit. Ten / Ten to all staff for their commitment, nothing was too much trouble. Much appreciated.

The dental work was completed by a well trained staff with great care as to my comfort and expertise . The hygienist was also very skilled in dealing with and advising me on my dental care . The appointment system ran very smoothly and I was kept fully informed as to the dates and times of future appointments by email. As a regular patient I thoroughly recommend this dental practice.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Schoolhill Dental Practice for around 26 years now. The staff have always been excellent. You get a friendly welcome from the receptionists who are also really helpful booking appointments around working hours and when you need an urgent appointment. Alistair is an excellent dentist and great at putting people like me who are quite anxious about dentists at their ease. The dental nurses are always lovely and look after the patients well while working as a team with the dentist. Highly recommend this practice especially Alistair Scott

Dr Alistair was precise with his examination, detailed in my options, helpful with my questions, gentle with anesthetic/procedure and all around everything you could want and more.

Rang on Thursday morning regarding pain after previous root canal and he saw me that afternoon, took X-rays and give advice. Also made it clear to get back in contact immediately if the pain doesn’t ease. Great service. All the staff are lovely.
