What I especially noticed was that there was absolutely no physical pain in the process- a really precision job! I was also given specific advice regarding care for my wisdom teeth. For those that find visiting a dentist practice daunting, there is the bonus of being in a beautiful and ancient building with the best views of the Cathedral! I recommend this Practice.

Fantastic experience: I am usually very happy with my dental treatment by Dr dana Visooghi and I was her patient for over 10 years. I have no desire to have another dentist. I also happy with a new hygienist Alison Castle. She made a procedure not painful and a very effect result. Alison also gave me a professional advice on a type of dental brushes to have a cleaner and white teeth. Yesterday, 30 of January I had an appointment with the Hygienist Alison and Liana who is her nurse. I am very pleased with their work as my teeth look much whiter and shiny polished as new :-) I would like to give special thanks to the fact that they both took extra care to be very gentle and not cause any discomfort or pain during the procedure. Fantastic experience: This, my latest 5 star review, relates to my most recent (fourth) visit (September 2024) to the Burgate Dental Practice. Alison and Dana at Burgate is my go-to team to receive an excellent dental hygienist service. For an enjoyable 30 minutes session every six months to maintain one's oral health in a healthy state, this experience cannot be bettered. DW The following (previous) 5 star rating relates to my first two visits to this Practice. 1. My first visit was for an oral health/dentistry check up and consultation. The professional and support staff were excellent in all respects. The facility is comprehensively equipped for the wide range of dental care services provided. The room used for my consultation was relaxing and comfortable, functionally well laid out, and from my (the patient's) recliner seat had a marvellous view of Canterbury Cathedral nearby. Visiting this dentist (Dany Abdulahad) was a pleasure. 2. My second visit, an agreed follow on session from the first visit, was to replace a very old filling (a Mesial Occlusal) part of which had fallen out c. 3 years ago. Everything about this 'mini-operation' was conducted impeccably and evidenced how far dentistry had advanced over the past 35 years. In fact, Dany had already earned my complete trust from the first visit such that he enquired near the end of the second session whether I had gone to sleep! (I hadn't, I was merely practising a relaxation technique - that's my story and I'm sticking to it!).

I had a broken tooth recently which was repaired very quickly and painlessly by Dana. I saw Alison the hygienist on Tuesday afternoon. She is very gentle but thorough in her approach. Fantastic experience: The good service starts at reception. The staff are welcoming and friendly. You are not kept waiting and the reception area is small and comfortable. Fantastic experience: If only I went to Burgate DP before another allegedly good dentist forced a crown on my tooth causing the root to break, infection and a very traumatic extraction. Had I gone to Ioannis sooner, an extraction could have been avoided... His methods and equipment are unparalleled; a recent crown installation at Burgate has been a great success and it looks like a million bucks! I look forward to the implant now and can't recommend the practice enough. Best dentist in the area if not in the whole region!

Fantastic experience: What can I say. As a nervous patient who had been told by my NHS dentist that I may have to have a denture or implant due to infection in my root canal. I was devastated. After a recommendation from my orthodontist I researched this place. And I am so glad that I came here. My root canal has been repaired- no denture or implant in sight! I now have an appointment to replace my crown. I feel confident about this. Dana and the lovely dental nurse made me feel so at ease throughout the whole process. Fantastic experience: Dana and Alison are wonderful: friendly; skilled; efficient. I'm moving away from Canterbury this year sadly, and I'd be surprised if I find a dentist and hygienist as good as they've been all these years. So many dentists seem to justify their existence by insisting on fillings at every opportunity. Burgate get the balance just right: preventative care when needed, but if things are fine, they'll leave alone. When I did need a filling a couple years ago (a pretty deep one), it was done brilliantly and I've had no issues.

Fantastic experience: I have been visiting burgate dental practice to see Natalia the hygienist, I had gum disease and my teeth weren't in great shape but with the ongoing treatments and cleaning advice I've received, my gum disease has now receded and my teeth are now the healthiest they ever have been. I'm always greeted with a warm welcome, and receive a professional experience and I can't thank them enough for helping me with my teeth, and being able to book on a Saturday is a massive convience.

Throughout I have nothing but praise and thanks for the input, advice and care and attention I received from Ioannis, the dental assistants and Beth. Patient relationships with a dentist might not happen instantly, they’re built up over time of trust and exceptional dentistry, and this I have experienced. I can smile confidently today because I have received and continue to receive the best treatment at Burgate Dental. I cannot understand anyone wishing to travel abroad to undertake dental treatment, as any dental work takes considerable time and the expertise of a dental professional to happen. I continue and will continue to feel in safe hands.

Fantastic experience: I have had 3 dental implants by Iannis who is a great dentist. He is so gentle, thorough and is dedicated to making you look good.

Positive experience: Have been going here for a while and for a dentist (no one likes a dentist let's face it), it's a nice experience and friendly. My only issue (as a private patient like most are now) is the price of work has gone through the roof compared to the peanuts that private dental plans pay out. They're completely out of step, one replacement back filling taking 25 minutes cost me £197, who makes these prices up? How does anyone even afford the dentist anymore? An average dental insurance pays out around £600 a year for checkups and fillings (incl. root canal), for about £30 per month, so for £360 pound outlay per year the patient gains just £240! Dentists need to lower their prices, it's quite frankly ridiculous how much they charge now and insurance companies need to pay out a minimum of £1000 per claim year.

I had two widom roots extracted and the Receptionist called me several times to make sure I was healing properly. I am happy my dental plan and high level of professionalism. Fantastic experience: I found Burgate dental practice a year ago based on reviews given by other patients, which I found invaluable. I honestly cannot recommend them highly enough. The practice is small, calm, relaxing and comfortable. Everywhere throughout the practice is spotlessly clean and hygienic. I initially made an appointment to see Ioannis at a time when I was in a lot of pain and very sad, confused and extremely nervous. I was really worried after having been given a negative and daunting prognosis from another surgery with treatment plans that involved extensive tooth loss. Ioannis was amazing. He immediately reassured me that my teeth were totally salvageable and that he could turn my dental health around. He is the most knowledgable, kind, positive and gentle dentist I have ever met. He is always happy, calm and nothing is too much trouble. Ioannis is highly skilled and knows without doubt exactly what treatment is required to put things right without any stress or worry. His knowledge and training in advanced dentistry and restoration is outstanding using the latest safe treatment available. I have had a lot of dental work carried out over the last year, including implants. I can honestly say I am now so much more happy and confident. For the first time in over 20 years I have no gum or dental pain and my teeth are amazing and really comfortable. I am no longer afraid of the dentist or to smile. The staff at this practice are all incredibly kind, friendly and professional. They have an amazing ability to be able to put you at ease. I actually look forward to having my teeth cleaned and seeing Alison, the dental hygienist. An experience that I had always struggled with previously.
