Taverham Dental Health Clinic was established by Dr Fariba Zolfaghari in July 2000 and has since developed into a lively, eight-surgery practice, offering a range of treatments for our patients.

Fantastic experience: I have a terrible fear of dentists I asked if I could my dentist to another one they recommend yasmine to me and the dental hygiene Louise. Both are absolutely amazing and understanding of my fear. Yesterday I had a root canal procedure. Yadmine explained it all in detail kept me calm and I went ahead with the treatment. I can honestly say it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be because yasmine was so good with me it's genuinely made my fear of the dentist go. I feel I can under go any treatments with yasmine she is just a super star and have never experienced a good dentist before until now. All the reception team are so friendly and lovely too. I love this practice I won't go anywhere else.

Positive experience: Dr Lilith didn't hurry me having my extraction asked what music I would like advised me about after care
Fantastic experience: I don't normally leave reviews but I genuinely feel that Dr Yasmin Shoushtari and her assistant (sorry, I missed her name) deserve recognition for their work. Without trying they have helped me overcome my fears and progress with getting the necessary work i need. This morning I went in for my second round of extractions (two teeth and roots of a third). I went in happy knowing they would take care of me again and and left in under 30 minutes with no pain and no need to manage my anxiety. I even had a smile on my face when I left. I cannot recommend them enough. what an awesome team. thank you

Fantastic experience: Lovely service from the reception team and dentist.
Negative experience: I give one star, only because I cannot give zero. My family and myself have been going to this dentist for near on twenty years. Only for my partner to have a weekend with an excruciating toothache, and to ring the dentist for an appointment , only to be told she has been struck off for not attending regularly. No warning of such action, no sympathy, and absolutely no help in a situation where she was in abject agony. Strangely 'this' when her last appointment that she did have for a filling, that she actually did not have, YET had actually paid for, included in another procedure, and STILL 'they' would not give and inch/jot. Sadly as some/most of us can be like, 'we' actually were so disappointed more than once for 'work' done there, but as you do, you go along with it, because at worst it was cosmetic issues, and you kept on their 'books' for such a situation as an infected, agonising toothache. Well, all I can say is, regarding the lack of humanity, professionalism, and obvious duty of care for their patients, 'that' plan quite obviously went to the wall when dealing with this practice.... Oh and as for duty of care, good job my partner and her 'colleagues' duty of care does not match theirs, as she works for the NHS, This practice would not even know the meaning of the phrase!! May I suggest that this practice does actually send a letter of 'notice' of intent to those they have regular attendance issues with, rather than just acting as if 'it doesn't matter' just junking what could be a desperate person, in pain, at their mercy, only because they can fill up their 'queue' as and when regardless. Surely what they charge, a stamp would not bankrupt them. update. After reading your reply to my review I have to strongly disagree with your reply. EXACTLY what I have stated in my original review is EXACTLY what happened to my partner, in fact she was actually a patient of yourself. We were with your practice, including myself for many years, and more than once were not entirely happy with our treatment, including on one occasion myself having a tooth removed what I believe unnecessarily, but as usual "you" tend to trust the "professional". But I will state it again, my partner came in to the practice in absolute agony, in tears, and in the most terrible pain, the practice we had been coming to for many years, and WAS turned away, again in tears, and in agony, treatment and behaviour "you" would not give to an animal if you had a heart. And regardless to your statement relating to your "practice terms", this was all done under the guise that we had somehow gone over the threshold of regular check-ups. No letter in the post, no phone call, NOTHING!. I will also state again, the funny thing is, YOU actually owed her money, as she had come in for treatment previously, for reasons that "you" stated could not have said treatment, which she had paid for, and you never refunded that, and then had the Gaul to turn her away when she needed you most. There are so many things I would like to add that being honest would verge on just "insulting" so I wont, but it is not easy not to. I also stated previously that my partner works in the NHS and has done for near on 15 years, in that time she has been awarded with commendations, regional, and national recognition for her service on more than one occasion, and have no doubt she does her job because she loves it, and gives her love and her "heart" to her patients every day. Not for the commendations, not for the recognition, and definitely not for the money, which comparing your service to hers, I would guarantee you would be earning a heck of a lot more, for obviously what is a heck of a worse service. But there is the problem isn't it, she loves and respects her patients, and believe it or not, THEY love her too, and she would do anything to help them in their time of need, where as yourself.... well, WE at least know the answer to that don't we! Anyway, we now have a lovely dentist, one who we trust to actually be doing the right thing for us.

Fantastic experience: No one likes going to the dentist, but Dr Sara and Leila definitely made it a more enjoyable experience with their kindness and knowledge in their jobs. Fantastic experience: I had a tooth removed this morning by Doctor Ahmed Shirali and he explained what was going to happen and what could go wrong before he extracted my tooth therefore putting me at ease,the tooth removal was straight forward and I felt no pain and was removed promptly, well done Doctor Ahmed Shirali and his assistant. Negative experience: Far too expensive, £500 for 2 fillings. They are having a joke. I will certainly leave this practice.

Fantastic experience: Today I had my first treatment with this practice, I had a wisdom tooth extracted and found the whole experience from the consultation right through to the procedure very relaxed and professional My clinician (Ahmed) and my nurse (Rosie) were absolutely fantastic! I’m not particularly comfortable when it comes to visiting the dentist but these guys are very informative and thorough pre treatment, I felt comfortable reassured and relaxed! Fantastic experience: Dr Yasmin Shoushtari is the best dentist, my daughter has severe anxiety and she is so calm and patient and will wait until she is ready. She makes both of us feel at ease and not a hindrance. We've seen her a few times now and my daughter is relieved everytime she sees her. Fantastic experience: Amazing practice had a teeth cleaning and filling. Didn't think my teeth could get that white, but they made it happen. The filling went smoothly with Dr Shoushtari. There was no pain and it looks like a real tooth 10/10. Massive shout out to the dental nurse and the receptionist always there to help with a smile.

Just been to my 4th hygienist appointment , and was greeted with a huge smile from Armel Tsagueu again - he makes you feel very relaxed and your welfare is paramount . Fantastic experience: Was working nearby and had an infection. After a check to see what was available in the area I found this clinic. After a phone call they got me in within a few hours and sorted the problem. I normally hate going to the dentist but they made me feel welcome and at ease. Fantastic experience: Lilith took on a mammoth task with a root canal and replacement crown on one of my front teeth. Lilith talked me through the process thoroughly and presented various options and scenarios. Lilith was very diligent and completed my treatment across a number of appointments, ensuring my tooth was perfect. Lilith put me at ease - as a nervous patient this is not an easy task! Fantastic experience: So pleased to find Taverham Dental Health Clinic when I was looking for a new dentist. The reception team are respectful, friendly and helpful. My dentist, Fariba, is so kind and friendly. She reduces the nervousness and fear of me and my disabled daughter. She is so considerate of her time and gives a lot of praise to my daughter and is super patient, which is just what she needs. Negative experience: I think dentist practice receptionists are very rude and very unhelpful they do not represent the practice in a good light one particular member was appalling on the phone , they have no time for people and have no understanding or care in their mannerism. Many people have had many of issues with the receptionists.

Fantastic experience: Today I visited Taverham Dental Surgery as an emergency to find I had an infection and needed 2 extractions. I met with Dr Yasmin and her dental nurse Kerry. I don’t often post but they were both exceptional. From talking me through step by step what the issues were, the treatment and next steps clearly. Dr Yasmin made arrangements for me to return the same day as I had been in pain all weekend. Previously when I have had extractions I have had to have several injections making it very pleasant. Not today, Dr Yasmin talked to me as she did them, just 4 injections for 2 teeth was enough and the whole experience was quick, professional and the teeth being removed completely painless. The aftercare was explained well while they kept me under observation. My numbness has worn off and I have no pain. I am so impressed with my visit today and hope that Dr Yasmin will become my future Dentist. Thank you for making what could have been an unpleasant experience go smoothly and for being so caring and reassuring. You are a credit to your profession.

Negative experience: I would not trust this dental practice for your health and well-being .. my last visit before they went private I said Dr Fariba Zolfaghari that I have a cavity forming in front of my tooth I could feel it she said no anyway I am now I left with a big hole In front of the tooth where I expressed My concerns… since I was a patient of taverham dental I have lost many teeth by extraction was sent to hospital and dentist their was surprised I was sent there for a teeth that did not need extraction and also how I had not been given a bottom denture because my jaw was out of alignment she sent a letter to dentist and it never got issued . I will be taking this further because now I wonder what else was removed but because of negligence and mal practice could a lot of things been prevented .. stay well clear. I also have ptsd due to my experience at this practice. Teeth play a big part on your all over health make sure you get a competent caring dentist.

Fantastic experience: Dr Yasmin & Kes (nurse) are an amazing combination. Warm, welcoming, empathic and positive, that alone takes a lot of stress away. I've had essential repairs and cosmetic work with Dr Yasmin and I'm delighted with everything. She's gentle, that's the big thing for me, and very very considerate. I'm really confident in her work, but also in her receptiveness if I wanted to say something wasn't quite right. I appreciate everything being explained to me clearly, including treatment options. Speaking of explanations, what lovely reception staff, polite and really friendly, in some places I've thought twice before phoning and dreading it, but a call to Taverham Dental Clinic is easy and a pleasure, with excellent customer service by email too. Their hygienist is caring and gentle also, and thorough, I was very impressed and pleased, that the experience was pleasant but also in her work, with her making a concerted effort to tackle an issue I was self conscious about. I've joined their dental plan, and the monthly fee gives me one check up and one hygienist visit per year, and I can't help but notice that this works out 'at cost' (the years total is the same price as the services included) and on top I get 10% discount on work... Its really a very good deal. Above and beyond the great dental work, comprehensive advice, clear explanations and concern for my wellbeing, Dr Yasmin & Kes lift the mood and bring smiles to your day! Fantastic experience: It’s been 19 years since I had the pleasure of meeting Fariba, my confidence was at rock bottom, my teeth had become stained and enamel was lost, leaving me very aware and self conscious. Fariba gave me my smile back, I felt like a new person. I was able to smile and talk without having to put my hand in front of my mouth. The veneers are still amazing, they have stayed beautiful and so natural looking, you would never know. Over the 19 years, my two front veneers, I felt needed to be replaced . I’ve just had new veneers fitted, the colour match is amazing, the fit is perfect. Fariba and Amber( the beautiful dental nurse) are very professional and very gentle. They both have such a calming manner about them, Fariba only strives to give you the best treatment, she puts her heart and soul into every minute, making sure you leave, happy and confident knowing , you’ve had the best Fariba and Amber has to offer you. Fantastic experience: Came to this dental practice about 9 months ago. My mouth was a mess and, l faced the possibility of several extractions. After a full assessment, a peridontal session lasting one morning, monthly hygeine appointments for 3 months followed by 3 monthly hygienist appointments, the fitting of a small flexible denture (rather than the extensive dentures l was expecting) l have got my smile back. As a result of the follow up support l am now maintaining a high standard of dental hygiene myself. The team at Taverham Dental practice are brilliant, very professional and most of all kind.

Negative experience: I would like to give this dentist a 0 star review, but it's not possible. These people have truly put me in a difficult situation. I will try to keep it short. I have been told that I require a wisdom tooth extraction, I have a very big fear of needles so I requested (As I did last time) to be referred directly to the N&N hospital, so that I can have Gas and Air. They did not do this and they forgot to do anything at all. Around about 6 months after they had forgotten to refer me (I was still unaware of this fact) they went private (One week after the deadline to find another NHS dentist. I cannot afford a private dentist, so this is a nightmare for me, I was then put in a position to ask what was happening about my referral. They told me that it wasn't even logged and that they would do it now. At this point I had endured an infection for 7 months and I am in danger of sepsis. They said that they would call back. They didn't. I called back two months later to find out what was happening, they didn't even seem to be aware of the issues at all. I asked them to look into it. They found me a local private place, that does not do Gas & Air. This was obviously a problem. I asked them to sort this ASAP, currently 8 months after I was told that I was an emergency. They just got back to me today with an email. The NHS no longer offer gas and air and I will have to go private... I cannot afford the bill that they have quoted. So, I am currently in paid and I have no way of sorting it out. I am also in danger of getting sepsis on the tooth and could die from this. These people are the worst dentists that I have ever used. They are neglectful and have genuinely endangered my life. EDIT They say that this doesn't align with their records, but this is a down right lie. You don't even know my name from this post, so how could you check every record? FYI you can check under Johnstone. You recently referred me to another service in the city. Why would I make this up??? You are the worst dental practice dentists smokes, and when they put their hands in your mouth all you can smell/taste is smoke. I think she may have left now, not sure.

I have been looking for a dental clinic of this calibre for a long time and this is by far the best dental service I have received in the U.K. in my 25 years in this country. Negative experience: Turned up today after lugging my 2 under 5s across town to be told the appointment had been cancelled - absolutely no communication - apparently was sent a text about it in November which I did not receive - what a waste of time. I won’t come here again.
Fantastic experience: I have recently re located to Taverham and joined this practice (my first time going private for dental care) The registration process was a breeze with very polite and helpful receptionists. I later needed an emergency appointment due to a swollen gum/infection, I called when they opened and straight away got an appointment for that afternoon. Very professional and assisted me with collecting my antibiotics. I will be needing further treatment afterwards, however they put me at ease as I was very nervous but now I feel more relaxed going into my next treatment visit - thank you ☺️

Negative experience: Like the reviews before mine. I found out from the Edp, that the dentist has got rid of all their NHS patients. Now we're all left to either pay the high prices or simply not go at all.

I would like to apologise on behalf of the practice. Communications were sent out to all of our patients via post in October and November of 2023 explaining the change. We are aware that Royal Mail were charged for not sending out their post. However we are sorry that you did not receive this update.

Negative experience: WAS a good dentist, but unfortunately have chucked out all NHS patients stating that it is not viable as a business to keep them. A business that according to Companies House, in 2022 took over £1.5m profit! So much for patient care, particularly in the middle of a cost of living crisis, where many won’t be able to afford their private fees and monthly plans. GREED pure and simple. The NHS contract may well not be “fit for purpose” BUT they are hardly on the breadline, unlike many of the patients they have abandoned with no option to go elsewhere.. They have absolutely no concern for patients, only £££. EDIT - in reply to the practice response, I didn’t say anywhere in my review that I had only recently been informed. I got the first letter and a second, so I was well aware of the selfish decision the practice has taken. Not sure how this can be “in the interests of our valued patients” when you will be well aware of the lack of NHS provision in Norfolk. The only consideration is for your bank balance.

Negative experience: Selfish money grabbing jokers. Been with this dentist for 22 years and they've done this - I hope they go bust. Do not recommend and go somewhere else. Plenty of nearby dentists offering cheaper PRIVATE treatments. Rich get richer and poor stay poor. Fantastic experience: Having used Taverham Dental Health Clinic for many years, I had a much needed smile make over this week: 6 Veneers and 4 Crowns. I am very happy with the result and the colour matching is great, making it look as natural as possible. Although I was petrified at first, Fariba made me feel comfortable and at ease and explained what was happening throughout. Her dental assistant was lovely too. I was also contacted afterwards to see how I was doing, which was much appreciated. Thank you Fariba and team :)

Negative experience: Recently announced that they will no longer treat their NHS patients. To make this clear it's not that are not accepting new NHS patients they just won't treat you even if you are a current NHS patient on their books Little warning and no option but to find another NHS dentist. None available in Norfolk. So in summary they care about your money not you.
