Fantastic experience: Having had a toothache for 4 days I called into st James Dental to hopefully book an appointment. The receptionist was so kind to me and very helpful and reassuring. She booked me in for an appointment on that day, I was so very grateful, but a little apprehensive as my Dentist was on holiday. However the dentist I saw was really reassuring, put me at ease. Explained clearly why my tooth ached so much. Straight away gave me antibiotics and even came with me to reception to book a follow up appointment with my Dentist. I left feeling like I had received first class care from people that cared about me. Thank you St James Dental.

Fantastic experience: I have been with St James Dental Practice for over 20 years bar a year when I moved away. I've seen Helen for over 15 years and she is amazing. The reception staff are wonderful and they do all they can for you. As a family myself, husband and son go and see Helen together and I remember him sitting on my lap when he was a few months old having a check up to a 13 year old (who no longer bounces on my lap) but thinks the world of her. What I also like is that if we have an issue the ladies on the desk do their best to fit you in, they don't want you to be in pain and do their best to help. When I was in pain and needed a crown I saw another dentist and he was very good. I'd love to tell you about the hygienist but I'm too much of a wuss to go but I highly recommend St James and wouldn't consider going anywhere else.

From my dentists Mr Mathewson then Ollie and now Chavdar they have all been amazing. A highly competent knowledgeable friendly team. I must also mention my current hygienist Ewa who is outstanding I like many dread hygienists but Ewa is gentle kind and I don’t mind going to her atall! All in all they make going to the dentist an ok experience! The reception staff are pleasant and very helpful I would highly recommend this well run practice.

Fantastic experience: Despite my childhood fear of "drill and fill" visits to the dentist, I have finally found a dental practice that allays any anxiety, explains exactly what they have found, need to do and why. However, above all, the entire team from reception through to treatment are just great.

Fantastic experience: 6th September After having an initial consultation and a treatment plan with Dentist Naomi ,I had my first treatment today . I can highly reccomend Naomi ,she talks through the treatment you are having and puts you at ease straightaway . The whole process was comfortable and pain-free. I am so glad that I was reccomended to this Dental Surgery and the excellent service it provides .

Fantastic experience: Over the last couple of years I had plenty of work done at St James Dental, fillings, a crown, implants etc. and I have managed to overcome my fear of dental procedures! I feel like I have to personally thank everyone who I have seen there. I had the luck to work together with 3 dentists - Jay (who since left) who completely understood that I was afraid, and made sure to be as gentle as possible. Georgina since took over as my general Dentist, she is also brilliant. Also, Ollie who I had 2 surgeries with and plenty of different procedures, X-rays, scans etc., it truly is a honour to work with him, his knowledge in all the different dental fields is admirable and I always felt safe with him. I think my case was quite complex, but he prepared a plan and made sure I will enjoy my new smile for as long as possible. My implants changed my life. There’s also Karen who is the hygienist, she is lovely and it’s always nice to see her. My encounters with everyone were exceptional, they always made sure to comfort me (in the beginning I was incredibly nervous), they were empathetic and professional. The waiting rooms are always clean and tidy, the receptionist are lovely and very helpful, they always try to accommodate the most suitable times for my appointments. I could go on and on about the all the good things, I really don’t have anything to complain about and trust me I have visited them a lot! They really are just brilliant!

Fantastic experience: If you're looking for quality, then this is the place you want to go to in vicinity of Cheltenham and Gloucester. My dentist at this surgery is Dr Georgina Padgett - Duncan and I've had 3 long appointments with her so far where lots of work needed to be done. She is very attentive to every detail and you can feel she's a perfectionist at heart. I can feel how I am her utmost priority when she is working on my teeth. I feel how she takes pride in her work and you can even feel that passion that only best dentists have about their job. Every step is always explained in detail and full choice is given over the treatment although I like to rely on her experience and go with her suggestions.

Negative experience: Used to be an excellent dentist a few years ago. These days they seem to be more interested in cramming as many patients in as possible rather than looking after the ones they already have. Lately I have had to wait over a week for an emergency root canal treatment and been asked by the dentist to book another appointment in 2 weeks only to be told that there are no appointments available for 6 weeks! The receptionists as a collective are generally incredibly rude and unhelpful, often barking commands at patients and seemingly unwilling to help in any way. The fees are amongst the highest in the county, whilst the service is generally like dealing with an overworked NHS practice. Some good dentists, some not so good (just Google them). Shame really, it used to be a nice practice.

Fantastic experience: As always, totally satisfied with the care and treatment received from both Ollie and Karen. All the dental nurses and reception staff are really helpful and kind. Been with this dental practice since around 1989, first dentist was a guy called Stephen whom I always said if he moved practices I would follow... he went to Australia to get away from me!!!! But all joking aside wouldn't go anywhere else. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: 4 mins late for a kids check up appointment they made us come back later or book the next day. When you turn up on time they make you wait 15 - 20 mins then see you. Awful service wouldn’t recommend.

Fantastic experience: As a 42 year old i was becoming more conscious about how my teeth were looking. I first looked at invisalign, but that wouldn't have fitted around my lifestyle. So braces it was, I did my research and although 20 miles away, St.James' was the place that stood out based on reviews. From day one , Chris Marston, his assistants and the reception team have been first class, friendly, professional and attentive. Every step of my journey was thoroughly explained and allowed me to understand the process better. I finished my treatment early as, being a good chap, listened to what my dentist told me I had to do! But expectation was tempered at all stages and finishing early was a combination of my teeth behaving and an amazingly talented dentist. I could not be happier with the result, I have more confidence and am eternally grateful for all you have done for me. Thank you.
