Fantastic experience: This practice is run very professionally and all the staff are friendly. Dr Illias Gavriilidis carried out a rebuild of my broken tooth which took 50 minutes. During the procedure he constantly explained what was going on and gave reassurance and asked if I was ok. Very impressed with both his skills and friendly attitude.

Positive experience: It's a dentist, what do you expect? 4 Star rating based on interaction with staff, whilst perfectly acceptable, nothing out of the ordinary. Efficient dentist, got the job done (a filling), assistant did her job but nothing more. Don't expect bells and whistles, take it for what it is and it's fine!

Fantastic experience: Only had positive experiances with this dentist. i was a bit concerned when my previous dentist (Helen) retired but thankfully i was put with another Helen and she is great. Sometimes difficult to get appointments at short notice, but thats because we have a lack of dentists nationally.

Fantastic experience: I had been a patient at the practice for 35 years until my dentist retired 2 years ago. I didn't need any dental work between that time and an invitation to attend a check-up with a new dentist, Rachel, a few weeks ago, which proved to me that customer care was important to the practice, and that they hadn't forgotten about me. All the staff I spoke to were very professional and friendly.

Fantastic experience: Efficient & friendly practice. I think that if a digital/paper diagram of each patients teeth were available with assessment scores this could help individuals to target home care & be a better sharing of information for all. I still think the above would help lots of people. A year later from the above review, my son and I visited for a check up and we remain happy to belong to this practice. Staff, again were polite, careful and friendly. We liked the gentle music and the helpful feedback from Ms Moovendan and her assistant who were a pleasure to meet. Fantastic experience: I waited 2 years for an NHS dentist to be hired. Having problems I was getting anxious I would never see a dentist again. Then the call came an I can not praise Rachel the NHS dentist enough she helped me to stay calm been scared for the dentist. So well done South Cave Surgery for hiring Rachel the only dentist I will see as she got my fear.

Negative experience: Another practice dumping NHS patients in favour of private. No NHS appointments available, but unsurprisingly they do have private appointments. Beware the secret rule of 2 years without needing dental care means your removed from the NHS list and they don't even have the decency to let you know.

Negative experience: Just tried to book a check up with this dentist, i have been registered as an NHS patient and have had appointments here before. My last appointment for a check up was canceled by the dentists and not re booked by them, supposedly due to staffing issues. This was not my fault! This was in 2021. I have just been told that they have a 2 year cut off after that they remove you as an HNS patient. I was not aware of this and they are not taking on any new NHS patients. So i asked if they have availability for a private appointment, surprise surprise that is no problem. I will be contacting our local MP and the NHS to make a complaint. Disgusting service and clearly just a money making ploy to force people to pay for private treatment.

The premises are always immaculate and the staff are always very friendly with welcoming smiles from the reception staff. My usual dentist, Mrs Helen Fairey gives a sympathetic and professional approach to her patients, explains any intended procedures well and is always ready to answer any questions. 10 out of 10.

Fantastic experience: I, along with my husband, have been with the practice for a good number of years now. We’ve always found the dentist, dental nurses and reception team to be helpful and friendly. My treatment appointment had been for July, but I was offered an earlier appointment with an alternative (temporary) dentist for today. I have to admit to being a nervous dental patient, and changing, especially for treatment, makes me a little anxious. I need not have worried. Maria G was fab, as was the dental nurse (sorry didn’t catch her name). Put me at my ease, and I had a painless and comfortable experience. Thank you.
