Fantastic experience: Shirin Pourmomeni is the best dental hygienist that I've ever seen! I've suffered from tender gums and some gum inflammation around a lens implant for several years. My deep clean with Shirin fixed these problems. I had absolutely no gum pain or discomfort afterwards and my teeth felt and looked incredibly clean! After experiencing many issues with my implants placed in a different dental surgery I found dentists who were willing to help me. David Furze and his team are incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and kind. They listened attentively to my concerns, explained all procedures and options in detail, and addressed my previous implant issues with expertise. David's positive attitude and enthusiasm made the treatment process much easier. The atmosphere at the surgery is welcoming and friendly, and I always felt comfortable and at ease. Even though I had to travel two hours for my appointments, it was well worth it.

My first appointment with Tawf was 2 hours and not thinking that I could have implants due to inherited gum disease he was so lovely and explained everything to me. So last November I had 4 implants and a sinus bone graft carried out by Tawf and David. This was totally pain free and the crowns were attached in January and May. Next up I went to see Naveed about having composite bonding. Every thing went ahead and I had this done in September/ October. The results speak for themselves. Fantastic experience: In early February my 32+ yr old bridge with 4 top front teeth finally snapped, with our daughter's wedding due April 1st and the thought of all the photos, I had to do something. My NHS Dentist sent me for x-rays (I asked for 2 ;) , ) I dropped one CD to them and waited and waited! I was referred to hospital apparently after questioning about the wait. That was IT! I rang SC Dentists, got seen the next day by Naveed Soomro, took the 2nd x-ray with me and had the most reassuring conversation ever at a dentist. They had the most amazing technology, used while I sat in my wheelchair! I had a few appointments in order to make a denture and a good time before the wedding, I could smile again. I have worn it every day since, with no sticky fixative, and it fits like a glove, so much so I often forget it is there when I go to bed! Now I will not see any other dentist, and I have had many over my 70 years! Tomorrow I am to go back, I have a wobbly lower tooth, for once I shall actually be happy to see a Dentist. Fantastic experience: I can’t say I would ever look forward to going to the dentist, but this is the nearest it gets to being a pleasant experience. I was experiencing ongoing infection under crowns with a bridge that were done a number of years ago, so major refurbishment was needed and I was a bit anxious about the process (and the cost). I have to say that I was put at ease right from my first consultation with Josh Sharpling. I then received a written confirmation of our discussion and a very thorough breakdown of the options available to me. A phone consultation followed when I was able to ask any questions and come to a decision on the way forward. Having implants is quite an invasive treatment, but everything was very well explained to me at every stage and I was always made to feel at ease. The treatment wasn’t hurried and went at a pace that I felt comfortable with. It was also helpful to be able to spread the cost over a period of time. I was always able to speak to someone on the phone or face-to-face if I had any concerns or questions and all the staff at South Coast Dental were helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Dare I say, it was even quite good fun at times! I know I have some other dental issues that will need looking at in the near future and I would be more than happy to return to South Cost Dental for my treatment.

Fantastic experience: I recently had 3 teeth replaced with implants. It was a very long process as I needed 2 extractions first which were slow to heal. Josh was very calm and encouraging and I felt I was in good hands from the start. Now all is finished I am delighted with the results and don’t think anyone could have improved on the result. Fantastic experience: I have been fearful of going to the dentist from a young age because, I think, one's mouth is such an intimate area of the body with sensitivity to heat, cold, pressure and as the potential for pain was frequently anticipated. So it has always been a tense and intense experience often requiring numbed gums prior to injections and, apparently, more injections than other people to avoid unwanted sensations and pain. There have been a variety of problems, potentially compacted wisdom teeth avoided by removing teeth early, abscesses and root canal treatment on several occasions, a dentist who thought removing problem teeth was the only solution, and in some cases it was although it left me with fewer teeth than I needed and put pressure on those that remained in spite of costly private cleaning treatment elsewhere which was designed to help but that could not be sustained. Dentists have generally been kind problem solving people and my reactions to treatment have improved over the years in spite of my fears. To be referred to a dental specialist was a blessing, at a point when eating was becoming a problem and the vision of becoming a toothless hag who would live on smoothies looked like a real possibility and an alarming prospect. The treatment was also alarming, not just because of the investment, but more importantly because it would mean holes being drilled in a jaw that I had previously been told was fragile. So to allow this would require, on my part, an unparalleled level of trust. To find that the dental practice was run with high standards of hygiene, expertise and a professional approach to their clients was a relief, although hoped for. It was clear that I did not need to worry. South Coast Dental Practice has a warm and welcoming culture putting patients at ease and accepting their nervousness with care, consideration and professionalism. David Furze was polite and charming explaining each stage of the process, answering questions and responding to any discomfort. My nervousness about injections soon disappeared and his evident expertise was reassuring. My fears about the drilling into bone were allayed and the treatment provided was focussed on ensuring that the implants will work successfully. My trust in his skill as a dentist means that I can now eat without concern about the impact on my front teeth.
