Morgan treated my very anxious son who had a million questions and needed lots of reassurance especially around timings through out the procedure. Glynneath dental Lounge we’re fantastic, very compassionate, explained in detail all their findings and anything that was going to cost extra before I agreed to them, they found and infection and give me a prescription for antibiotics which have cleared the pain i’ve been suffering for 12 days. Pricing of everything including their emergency fee was one of the cheapest I was quoted but so many were not happy to over see another ones work, They were a god send to me

My partner got me an emergency appointment late on a Friday afternoon, despite my anxiety and CPTSD conditions everyone was so calming, welcoming and friendly I can safely say that despite ending up with 2 teeth pulled without sedation just local anaesthetic for the first time ever I genuinely had the most pleasant experience I've ever had with all of the others being traumatic and painful every time before.

Fantastic experience: You are always greeted with a welcoming smile and pleasant welcome by the reception staff who are always eager to manage your visit in a professional and knowledgeable manner. Having visited the practice on two consecutive Fridays for a hygiene and dental checkup recently, I could not fault the treatment and care I received from the resident hygienist and dentist. I one visit I arrive 3 hrs early, my fault I had put the wrong time in my diary! The staff went out of their way to cater for my error and I was seen and treated with 30 minutes. Thank you. Positive experience: Today my experience was excellent my treatment plan was completed professionally and I’m really pleased with my crown. I did however have problems with my initial consultation I had a problem with my appointment due to emergency patients taking priority. Felt as if there was a two tier system for NHS patients. The staff however did listen to my concerns and rearranged my appointment.

Fantastic experience: Had terrible toothache, couldn’t get an appointment with my own dentist, very disappointing. I contacted the Lounge just after 3PM and was sitting in the surgery at 4.15PM. I was examined, x-rayed and had a VERY necessary tooth extraction and on the way home by 5.15PM. The whole process was friendly, slick and professional. I would absolutely recommend their services.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely superb service from start to finish, I was seen as an urgent 111 patient and they couldn’t have been more accommodating, the girls at the reception were nice and friendly and the dentist Morgan was great with his assistant Chloe. I had to have a tooth extracted and it was done very well, no pain and left the practice all signed up and awaiting my next appointment in June.

Fantastic experience: I have had my teeth cleaned, one filling and a tooth extraction with dental lounge. I was worried about my extraction because the tooth was quite damaged above the gum but Dr Morgan was able to get it out without needing to cut the gum or needing stitches. I did not feel any pain during the entire process. A little over 12 hours later and I’m still pain free and haven’t needed to take any medication. 10/10 experience. Brilliant and friendly staff all round.

Fantastic experience: I had a dental emergency and the previous dentist I was with completely ignored me. I was in so much pain and at risk of becoming more unwell. Dental lounge saw me as an emergency 111 patient and were immediately welcoming and empathetic to my pain. They gave me a care plan to help me improve my oral health. Any communication has always been very competent. The staff are always lovely and I can’t thank them enough for helping me through a challenging health journey.

Fantastic experience: Needed an emergency dental appointment, 111 found me one with The Dental Lounge. A very relaxing atmosphere on arrival, lovely Christmas tree in the corner. Hardly had to wait at all before meeting the dentist. He introduced himself and the dental nurse, this small gesture made me feel relaxed straight away. Needed an X-ray and antibiotics, next procedures were discussed and explained. I didn’t feel rushed and everything was explained in detail. I’ve now switched dentist as I was made to feel so at ease.

Fantastic experience: I started my journey when I came in as an emergency patient as I couldn't bare the pain. When I first saw the dentist I burst into tears, not from pain but from embarrassment from the state of my teeth. He was so kind to me and made me feel at ease and that's where it all began. I saw Dr Abraham who was so patient and understanding. Next Dr Mancuso who never once judged me and was so helpful. She has given me a smile I can be proud of. If your nervous, scared, embarrassed Iike I was i would recommend this practice to anyone, from the receptionists, hygienists, dental nurses and the dentists themselves, all will reassure you and do their upmost to achieve the results you want and need

Fantastic experience: Called 111 today for emergency appointment this place is by far the best dentist I've been to the reception gave me a call after 111 had made the appointment instantly I felt this is going to be a brilliant visit and by far it was the staff on reception were so polite welcoming and can clearly see they care for the patients the building it's self was so modern I felt like I had been sent to the ritzs I was called in exactly at my appointment time by the dentist nurse I didn't catch her name she again was kind and made me feel welcome and at ease especially after my bad with another dentist last week I was seen by mr Abraham again I felt welcomed not judged and relaxed he had a look was so gentle I really can't fault this man also had a xray I'm limited to how much I can open my mouth at present and he managed to get xray into my mouth and out with so little room without me feeling any pain or discomfort at all again I really can't fault what a wonderful experience I had today I actually felt cared for Thank you guys really appreciate it

Negative experience: I am truly saddened by the need for financial gain that appears to drive the way people are treated at the Dental Lounge. After phoning and making an appointment weeks in advance, I was contacted to rearrange my teenage daughters check up appointment. After I explained that she couldn't as she was headed to university they agreed that she could be seen at 2pm, her appointment time. At this time the receptionist could have reminded me that the practice closes for lunch from 1pm-2pm daily, something I didn't actually know. I phoned at 13:15pm to inform them that I would make a payment over the phone if needed. No answer so I left a message. My daughter arrived for her appointment at 1:49pm, a lady informed her that "you can't be here, we are closed," She was taken aback, a little shocked by the manner in which this person had spoken to her so she left. Confused as her appointment was at 14:00pm. The person could have addressed this very differently, maybe asked why she was there, did she have an appointment, explained that they were closed until 2pm, could she just wait a little while longer outside. My daughter walked back up the road as we live close by, but turned round to go back and check when they were open. She was then told by the receptionist that she was too late for her appointment. She had arrived at 14:06. After phoning and talking to a manager I was told that another appointment would be made for my daughter in October. Today was my turn, I arrived dead on time 16:00pm. I was kept waiting at the front desk. I was seen and told to fill out forms after I had paid an initial fee of £20. Paid. I was seen at 16:06, the irony was not lost on me. I left my check up at 16:12. It took 6 minutes to be told that I may have gum disease and needed 3 monthly hygiene visits. I asked if I could have an appointment the same day as my daughter, no appointment had been made? But, they could squeeze us in. Thank you. Then I was asked to pay £85 for my next appointment. A second receptionist reminded the person that I had already paid £20 on arrival, so £65. Paid. Then as I am standing at the desk the staff are heard talking about a patient that had just paid £600 odd pounds for all his upcoming treatments in full, like it was a prize contract won! I suppose, my shy and introverted daughter who had plucked up the courage to go to the dentist by herself and was treated with such disrespect and disdain, just needed to have a payment plan in place to get a fair chance. How sad that this is it for us now! Does curtesy and a little kindness cost that much? I suppose there is a price tag on this too?

Fantastic experience: I visited today for in chair teeth whitening with Dr Mancuso and Nurse Chloe- firstly, what a lovely team of staff here - every single person I’ve interacted with is always so lovely and professional! Now onto the whitening itself - I had Phillips zoom in chair whitening - I cannot get over the results!! For someone who thought their teeth would forever look awful, I’m so happy with them - I cried in the chair and the drive home with happiness! I can’t wait for the rest of my treatments to get my dream smile - thank you all again!! (Not posting photos only as there’s still work to be done - but in one session they improved by 3 whole shades!!) Edit - now updating as I have completed my journey and I am very happy with the treatments and services received. I honestly don’t have a bad word to say about the team or the practice! I had some minor chemical burns after the whitening but the team were more than helpful with advice on this and it went within a week (give or take). I have never been judged for the condition of my teeth or for my hatred of the chair, and was always reassured. I am so pleased with my results, I have so much more confidence than I’ve ever had and now need to learn to smile with teeth for the first time in years! Thank you Dharminy & team!

Fantastic experience: Being a nervous patient I found the whole team to be kind and considerate, and not made to feel like an idiot as I have at previous practices. Everyone was professional, the place was spotless. I was informed what was happening and offered the opportunity to stop if I felt I needed it. Nia the hygienist was amazing and worked well with the nurse who I believe was called Chloe. Reception staff (also Chloe) was welcoming.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly, put me at ease. Saw Morgan Abrams and his assistant, they were excellent. Extraction turned out to be more complex than expected and should have been charged extra but he was nice enough to give me the simple price, even though it took 15 mins out of their lunch break.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of the Dental Lounge in Glynneath for just under a year now as a private patient. I have always suffered with severe anxiety & phobia surrounding dentists since I was young due to bad experiences, which resulted in me avoiding going to the dentist for years. After hearing good reviews I decided to contact the Dental Lounge. The have all been nothing but amazing with me, I have received multiple dentistry appointments with them during this time, and every single appointment they make you feel at ease, and instantly relieve my anxiety, giving me time to calm down and doing anything they can to support me and calm me. D'harmony Mancuso is by far the most amazing, talented & kindest dentist I have ever met!! The patience and care she has shown to me over the past year has been nothing but incredible! I never would have gone through with half the work I needed on my teeth if it wasn't for her. She is absolutely amazing, and so caring & compassionate, which helps massively when you have severe anxiety around dentists. All of the staff in the Dental Lounge are absolutely lovely, they all make you feel at ease from the second you walk through the door. I honestly cannot recommend this dentist enough, I will never go anywhere else! Fantastic experience: I cracked a tooth and needed an emergency appointment as the tooth was sharp. Less than 24 hours I was in here and the staff are extremely friendly, very quick and efficient. There was no further pain caused than I was already experiencing and nothing was too much trouble. I've now opted to make this my go to dental practice for future appointments.

Negative experience: Long Review: Summary; treated awfully by member of staff who turned out to be the director and manager of the practice. Read for full story. I attended an emergency appointment today for a toothache. I was given my appointment time over the phone and told I would have the appointment time and any other instructions and the address emailed to me, the last thing I did before ending the call was repeat my email address to be sure they had it correctly. I received only the address email. Once I arrived at the practice I gave my name to the male staff member at the desk and the very first thing he said to me was "you're late", to which I replied "Okay?" He then reiterated that I was late, I was quiet taken back at now rude he was being about it and stated I was only 3 minutes late and had been waiting maybe a minute before I was seen.. he then stated, again rudely, that I was actually 8 minutes late because I'm supposed to arrive 5 minutes beforehand. I said he didn't tell me that on the phone that morning, to which he said it was in the email I sent this morning, I said I didn't get that email and he checked and system and said he'd send it to the wrong email address, he'd missed out a letter in my email address, corrected it but only resent the email with the address and not the email with appointment instructions. Did he apologise for his mistake, and his rude manner apon my arrival? For berating me for being late even though I had no instruction to arrive BEFORE my appointment time? No, he did not. Instead he continued to speak down to me, rudely and disrespectfully. Not that I need to explain myself but I am a young person with hidden disabilities, usually I would not have been by myself and usually I have a carer with me, however given it was an emergency appointment I had no time to get anyone else to come with me whilst my husband had to stay in the car with our baby. I was left on the verge of a panic attack and only managed to stay calm by texting my husband for emotional support. Once I went in to see the dentist I thought perhaps if I had felt comfortable I could mention that the staff member had caused me massive amounts of anxiety and stress in the waiting room. But i didn't feel comfortable so I said nothing. That same member of staff then made me wait a further ten minutes before giving me my prescription because I "may have to sign some forms", I think he knew I didn't have to sign anything and just made me wait to be even more rude. He once again spoke to me in a horrible manner after I requested to be removed as a patient as I intended to move to another practice. I was unable to make any eye contact during this final interaction, focusing only on not having a panic attack, once I was handed my prescription I turned and left without saying goodbye as I was so upset and close to tears. The member of staff sarcastically said "see ya" as I walked out and whilst I continued towards the exit and didn't reply he added "bye then", in another sarcastic tone. I'm not sure why this member of staff treated me so poorly, I'm a young, small girl and I'm sure my discomfort and anxiety was obvious. I decided I would make a complaint.. well after looking into the complaints procedure and the staff of the company.. imagine my shock when I discovered the member of staff who had been so rude to me was in fact the Complaints Manager.. AND the DIRECTOR of the company AND the husband of the dentist I had seen. I am shocked and appalled that the manger and director of this practice would treat anyone like that. This review is aimed directly at ALEX MANCUSO. Hi Alex, I hope you feel good about yourself.. my decision to leave the practice today was because of how you treated me, not because I was going somewhere else, you made me feel so anxious and disrespected I knew I could never go back. Think twice before you speak to people like that in the future, because this time you caused immense stress and anxiety to a young mother with serious hidden disabilities.. I hope you and your wife are proud of that.

Negative experience: I had a tooth extraction. A piece of bone remained inside. I suffered for about a month. I do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: Can’t recommend them enough. Was terrified of dentists before I went here to the point I’d feel faint. Had an emergency appt with them after another dentist gave emergency treatment that left me in more pain and they took me on and corrected it right away. Consummate professionals and friendly staff behind desk. Can’t say I enjoy the appointments but they take great care in making you comfortable with no pain!
