Positive experience: Over three sessions the Dentist Samia Momin and her dental assistant took me from agonising pain to a feeling of being able to eat properly At each session Samia was professional and polite with clear instructions and during the dental work she and her technician was acutely aware of any needs I may have. I was given a clear education on what had gone with my teeth and what the corrective approach was and consent was asked at each turn with clear expectations and explanations Coupled with the excellent reception staff I would strongly recommend Abbey Dental South Harrow to anyone. And the reason for only 4 stars not 5 is that I believe that everyone can improve in every thing. So the real score would be 4.9 stars

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Abbey Dental enough. As someone with severe dental anxiety Dr Momin put me completely at ease, acknowledging my nerves and being very understanding. Delighted to have finally found a dental practice I am more comfortable to visit. As well as this it doesn’t feel as though they push work you don’t need. Having visited an out of hours emergency who quoted a significant amount of work at a very high cost, Abbey dental confirmed this was not needed and did the work that was in fact necessary.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful caring dentist! I had a really positive experience at Abbey Dental Practice with Dr Dorasani Gogala and her dental nurse. They were both extremely caring, gentle, and understanding, especially as I have several disabling health conditions. Dr Gogala took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I felt comfortable and reassured throughout my check-up. The reception staff were also lovely — very polite, welcoming, and helpful from the moment I arrived. The practice itself is clean, calm, and well organised, which really helps put you at ease. It’s so nice to find a dentist and team who genuinely care about their patients and go the extra mile to make them feel at ease. I’d highly recommend Dr Gogala and the team at Abbey Dental Practice to anyone looking for kind, professional dental care.

Fantastic experience: I was impressed with the level of care I received. The dentist was attentive, patient, and took the time to fully understand my needs and concerns. The Dentist explained all the possible treatment options and outlined a care plan that made sense. Overall, a professional and reassuring experience.

Negative experience: I attended with pain in my wisdom tooth and was seen by Dr Olufunmilayo Rotimi, who unfortunately reinforced the negative perception that some people already have about NHS dental care. I explained that this was the first time I had experienced toothache, that I did not believe it was an infection, but wanted to have it checked for peace of mind and to get a professional opinion on whether an extraction might be necessary in the future due to a lack of space. Instead of responding professionally, Dr Rotimi asked, "If your toe was hurting, would you ask a surgeon to remove it?" and, "Did you not ask Google?" in reference to the link between wisdom teeth and age. This kind of dismissive and patronising behaviour is unacceptable at any time, least of all when someone is already feeling unwell. Even if the issue seemed minor or obvious, I expected a basic level of respect and professionalism, which I did not receive. I wish I had been able to express this directly at the time, but due to how I was feeling, my priority was getting back home. If Dr Rotimi finds it difficult to engage with patients in a respectful and informative way, or no longer finds the role fulfilling, it may be worth considering whether a different area of work would be preferable. Although this experience was disappointing, I want to acknowledge that I have previously seen Dr Samia Momin, who has always been kind, respectful, and a pleasure to see. I would recommend keeping this in mind when booking at the practice.

Fantastic experience: I saw both a hygienist and a dentist. Both experiences were excellent. The receptionist were welcoming and pleasant. The hygienist worked quietly and considerately ensuring I was comfortable throughout. He explained what he was doing and at the end discussed how effective my cleaning was and the best way to proceed. The dentist was also welcoming, checked my teeth and showed me where I could have some further work done. There was no pressure but I decided to have it done. Throughout I felt secure in what I was being told and what was being done.

Negative experience: Not satisfied with the visit. I have been with this surgery for a long time. Done root canal treatment from here in the past.It was really nice and good experience. But in my last visit it felt like I just wasted the money. I went with a tooth ache which needed to do something about it. Instead of any kind of treatment I was told to see my usual dentist. Why is there even a system to see other dentist if they don't do anything? Very disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Excellent practise, been a patient here for many years and although very few people like going to the dentist I can honestly say that I find the whole experience stress free. This is because the surgery is clean and staff well organised and always very welcoming and professional. I have every confidence in my treatment and know that I will be treated with kindness and kept informed at all times.

Fantastic experience: Always dreaded the hygienist as I found the experience very painful and uncomfortable. However, I had a new hygienist at my appointment this week and he was fantastic. He was very gentle and no painful gums after the visit, he also recommended the air flow clean which took off years of stains. I cannot thank Dipesh Adhikari enough for talking me through everything and advising me of my options. He has restored my faith and I will be visiting the hygienist on a more regular basis now. Between work, the kids, running a small business and life generally; my teeth were not a priority for many years and I assumed they were a lost cause however I forced myself to see them after being recommended by my husband and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. All staff from the reception team, dental nurse, my hygienist and my dentist are so friendly, reassuring empathetic and most importantly highly skilled. The clinic is always busy but yet they manage to see patients quickly. Negative experience: Been at this Dentist for over 8years but the Service has really gone down hill over the past few years and my appointments keep getting cancelled last minute with The lame excuse that the Dentist is not well. I’ve had four appointments cancelled within my family in the last one month. I am very organised and book my appointments well in advance and then get let down the last minute when you have made plans. And you can’t even see another dentist. So frustrating! Receptionists are rude and arrogant. I wouldn’t recommend this dentist anymore.

Fantastic experience: I was recommended this place by my mum, took my husband and he was beyond please. Gursimran is soooo nice and pleasant to have as a dentist. I would 1000% recommend her. The 3 time I have been, I have waited 15-20mins but I guess that’s what happens if it’s a good dentist and the patients don’t want to run away.

Negative experience: I would give NO stars if I could, visited abbey dental for first time in 9 years with NO pain for just a check-up. Told I need some fillings and an extraction of my lower wisdom tooth (getting no pain) ask to leave off the extraction but she the dentist was persistent. She attempted to extract my lower back wisdom tooth and broke this right down to I believe my nerve (told lies and said I was too anxious to allow her to remove baring in mind she complete fillings the same time) told me I would get no pain, I arrived home still numb once this wore off I was in agony, I called the following morning to be told by her to come back and she will cover the massive hole she caused in my tooth so she slapped a filling on top of my pulp nerve, NO X-ray taken after she did this,gave me a prescription for antibiotics…no follow ups at all…she then told me I would have to see an oral surgeon, so I saw an oral surgeon who gave me an injection and attempted to pull the filling stuck on to my pulp nerve as the dentist did not present a X-ray of the damage she had caused to my tooth to the hospital, as they were pulling this was pulling my nerve, I’ve been classed as an anxious patient by abbey dental and Northwick Park hospital, considering I allowed the dentist to complete filling and also attempt another extraction under local……I would not class that as an anxious patient…AVOID like the plague dentist broke my tooth in March 2023 and I still have the severely infected tooth September 2023 which she has completely denied doing. They log incorrect untrue records on medical files also to protect themselves from their negligence.
