Fantastic experience: After breaking a tooth and trying to book an appt at a couple of places I rang Widcombe who were able to fit me in. My Dentist was great very knowledgeable and gave me great advice and a temporary filling to get me back to Australia where more work will be needed. Thankyou all.

Fantastic experience: I today went in for my routine six-month hygiene appointment at Widcombe Dental. As part of the check-up, they use a special purple liquid to highlight where brushing could be improved—a clever touch that shows where you might be missing. The cleaning itself involves a kind of gentle jet wash to remove plaque, followed by a high-frequency vibrating tool to get at any tougher areas—so much more comfortable and effective than the old spinning grinders! My hygienist is fantastic: always friendly and reassuring, immediately putting you at ease. She works seamlessly with her assistant, who manages the suction and updates your record(I still have no idea if a score of "Upper left 1" is better than "Upper left 2", but perhaps that’s for the best!). Together, they make the experience smooth and efficient. A special mention goes to the reception - I always find her welcoming and genuinely keen to help. She goes out of her way to find appointment times that work with your schedule, which I really appreciate. Another big plus is the practice’s excellent web app, where you can check your upcoming appointments and update your medical details easily online. Let’s be honest - I’m hardly someone who looks forward to a trip to the dentist. But with the friendly, professional care and thoughtful touches at Widcombe Dental, I can honestly say it’s never a chore. Putting your trust in them really does make dental care straightforward and stress-free.

Fantastic experience: Nice, stylish practice in Widcombe, Bath. My first visit yesterday for advice on a chipped tooth. The dentist Will Hutton is a straight-up Mancunian, friendly, knowledgeable and gave sensible advice. Follow up recommended for hygienist and replacement of an existing filling detected on X-rays included in the new-patient charge of £110. Communication by email was excellent and prompt on the phone by experienced receptionists. Typical of Bath, prices are on the higher side but aside from that an all round good experience.

Positive experience: PROS: At every check-up, all my options are discussed and the cost of different treatments is quoted upfront by the dentist - much appreciated. When I'm being treated, I'm distracted from what is going on by beautiful scenes projected on the ceiling. Treatment is efficient. Friendliness abounds. CONS: In both waiting rooms I am faced with promotional and advertising videos showing open mouths having treatment, which I for one find distasteful and downright nauseating. I can't help wondering what proportion of my dental charges are spent on this stuff.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Sonia at Widcombe Dental who replaced two very old, cracked fillings with half crowns for me. Coming from a generation which has reason to fear a visit to the dentist, I'm a nervous patient but both Sonia and Lea, her dental nurse, were very reassuring and solicitous. After previous unpleasant experiences my son and I were very nervous new patients, both needing quite a lot of work done, but Paul has made me feel confident that we are in the most capable hands we could possibly be! He is absolutely amazing. He takes the time to explain the procedures, listens to our concerns and is incredibly kind and patient. (And funny!) Georgie has been brilliant too, and really put me at ease with her kind and confident manner. The whole team is friendly, polite and professional and the dental treatment has been first class. I cannot recommend this practice enough. Bizarrely, I now look forward to visiting the dentist!

Fantastic experience: I came to Widcombe Dental having had a very negative experience at a different practice. As a result of negligence from my previous dentist I have had to have a lot of restorative work done. Paul has been absolutely brilliant, I am extremely pleased with the work he has done. I have always been very afraid of the dentist but Paul's kind and expert manner has given me confidence and alleviated my anxieties. Fantastic experience: I hadn't been to a dentist in over 8 years so was a bit hesitant about going. I needn't have been! My dentist Paul was amazing, so patient, kind and professional. He really put me at ease and explained everything he was going to do which I really appreciated. I needed a large filling but looking at the tooth now you would never know! The entire procedure was quick and painless. The dental nurse was great too, although unfortunately I didn't get her name. I had a lovely welcome from the receptionist Esther who was super efficient, friendly and professional. I also really liked the email confirmations I received from the practice about my appointment because it can be so easy to forget the exact time you've booked in for. Overall, a fantastic experience at Widcombe Dental, can't recommend them enough!

Fantastic experience: I had my first hygienist appointment with Andrea yesterday (14/3/24) and I was very impressed by her warm, professional manner and technical prowess; what was most satisfying was the fact that Andrea taught me things about brushing and using tee-pees which I have never been told in all of these years at other practices. Superb.

Fantastic experience: I had a dental emergency, phoned at 8:30 am and was seen by a dentist at 9:00am. So relieved to have the problem identified within the hour, and reassured by the rapid initial treatment, to be followed up in less than a week. Excellent service.

Fantastic experience: Widcombe Dental Surgery takes excellent care of my teeth. My oral hygiene and dental health generally have both hugely improved since switching to WDS.

Positive experience: My second experience with with Andrea was also good, even though she needed to do some uncomfortable things like a pocket chart, and scaling close to the gums. She explained what she was doing and ensured I had breaks when I needed them. At first she said the pocket chart would sound like bingo, but when I showed interest, she explained what she was measuring. I found it a bit patronising when she said things like "I am pleased with you" or "We are making good progress", but this is no different from my past experiences with dentistry. I think after a few more appointments, she will get to know that I take responsibility for my own health care choices, and I prefer straightforward factual advice to pep talk.

Fantastic experience: A very personable service which is effective and efficient with just enough explanation. Georgie is exceptional and Alexi supports witg the minimum of fuss. A great team. As a bonus my teeth are in a much better state than when I started treatment two years ago.

Fantastic experience: A slightly more expensive dental surgery, but the level of professional care you receive is outstanding. I needed a lot of work done after putting it off for months/years and felt very embarrassed about going in, but Paul never made me feel self conscious and provided me with a level of dentistry I can only describe as flawless.
