Fantastic experience: I have always been petrified of the dentist. A childhood memory of a strict and abrupt dentist stayed with me, and as an adult I only went when in extreme pain. Avoidance became my motto. But years of neglect caught up with me. Gum disease, infections and wobbly teeth began to affect not only my mouth but my health too. One dentist told me my bone wasn’t good enough and handed me a partial denture — it was awful. I knew I had to find another way. That’s when I discovered Dr Simon Oldman at Hertfordshire Dental Group. From the very first consultation, I knew I was in safe hands. He was kind, compassionate and reassuring. He explained that I was suitable for full arch dental implants, talked me through each step, and most importantly, understood my fears. The treatment was life-changing. Yes, all my teeth were removed, but the process was painless and professional. Even after surgery — with implants placed — I felt no pain, only relief. Today, I can smile with confidence, eat comfortably, and feel healthier. The transformation is beyond what I imagined. Dr Simon Oldman has given me back more than my smile — he’s given me back my confidence and quality of life. If I could rate more than 5 stars, it would be 100. Who says heroes need capes? Sometimes, they come as dentists.

Twice this year (2022) I have taken her to this clinic in Ware. The understanding and professional duty of care shown by John Lythall (dentist) and Amy (hygenist) and their assistants was outstanding on both occasions. Fantastic experience: All the classic dentist myths and stories just don’t apply here - they don’t charge you for things you don’t need! - 0 pain during all my appointments - education and support no judgement from staff - clean and modern design in both practices - it’s not stupidly expensive I love going to my appointments!

Fantastic experience: A visit to the dentist can rarely be said to be a pleasurable experience. However this was the case for our 1st visit to Hertfordshire Dental Group. After being loyal customers of a private dentist close to our home for the last 44 years, the principal reason for the move was the decline in experienced staff since it's acquisition by a large medical group. We both agreed that the 30 min journey, instead of 5, was much more than justified by the quality of treatment care and service rediscovered at HDG.

From my first ever appointment, Jon was so thorough about the whole process I would be taken on and the outcome I would achieve by the end. Every appointment he made me feel so comfortable and took on issues I had (very sensitive teeth) ! Couldn’t be more happier with my teeth and how they look and that’s all down to Jon & his artwork. Highly highly recommend :)

Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant. Been here for many years now and had a lot done. Some have gone and been replaced but each as nice as the other. Simon took my tooth out after a consultation a while ago (2 root canals already so was very honest and said the best thing to do and told me the options and chances). Everyone there is amazing, the receptionist was fantastic and really helped and made me feel very calm and welcome and the assurance of the other bookings I made because I am terrible at keeping track of them! I will make a very very big compliment to the hygienist. She really is amazing and will go out of her way if needed to help on you. I would follow her if she ever left, absolutely brilliant and I can’t thank her enough.

Fantastic experience: I have always been a nervous and anxious dental patient but since joining the Hertfordshire Dental Group when I moved to ware 3 years ago, I have found my visits to be a lot less stressful. I have recently had to have 2 teeth extracted but the caring and professional treatment I received made it not exactly a pleasure, but certainly a lot less stressful than it could have been.

I am normally quite nervous at the thought of a trip to the dentist so it’s really nice to be made to feel at ease upon arrival. As for the dental treatment, the dentists here are highly trained and experienced and offer such a professional service. This is incredibly important and the main reason to go, but I also appreciate the fact that the dentists are caring and friendly. This makes me feel a valued patient and at ease. The dental surgeries (Ware and Hertford) are bright and cheerful and are well equipped with the latest dental care equipment. I cannot rate Hertfordshire Dental Group highly enough.

When I switched to the new dentist, I was a little apprehensive, but I had no reason to worry. The staff are all lovely, and I feel completely at ease and safe here. He is the best dentist I have ever seen and I’ll be forever grateful for all his efforts that are still ongoing now.

Hertfordshire Dental offers a comprehensive range of treatments. My dentist Dr John Lytham and dental hygienist Amy have certainly restored my confidence in the dental profession . The treatment planning was second to none . The operative work was painless and uneventful producing an excellent result with perfect resolution of my oral health . Fantastic experience: I made an appointment by email from Indonesia as a tooth crumbled while on holiday. The practice responded quickly and was able to fit me in a couple of days after I returned. I saw Dr Konstantinos Adraktas who was very clear in his explanation of my options (using photographs to illustrate the pros and cons of each) and when I elected a white filling was able to do the work immediately. Throughout he was patient and careful not to rush and explained clearly what he was doing. The pain relief was excellent. I felt throughout that I was in very safe hands. At the end we had a wider chat about other potential issues with my teeth and he confirmed that if there were any problems with the filling within the next 12 months he would repair or replace it for free. I have used this practice for a few years now and everyone is very welcoming, professional and polite and I have never had to wait long. The prices seem reasonable for private dental work and although I am no expert, the surgeries seem to have very modern equipment and the waiting areas are comfortable. I would highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Today I had an emergency appointment for a tooth extraction after seeing Dr Adraktas a week ago for severe toothache. He was very friendly and a knowledgeable professional and booked me in for treatment a week later after giving me antibiotics. Unfortunately I couldn’t wait till Wednesday as I was still in agony so today I saw Dr Lythall in an emergency. He along with his assistants were amazing!! Very friendly and great at handling my anxiety. I would recommend them to everyone and I will be returning for future treatments and a dental plan for replacement of amalgam fillings and tooth implant in the future. Everyone from the receptionists, nurses and dentists are friendly, always smiling and put you at ease. They have been the best experience in dentistry that I’ve ever had. Thank you Hertfordshire Dental Group for taking such good care of me.

Fantastic experience: Have been client for many years both as NHS and coming back as private (left due to relocation). Can honestly say staff are wonderful, service excellent. I have found no difference in treatment between NHS and private. I still come here although now in London. They are more than happy to accommodate when able to come in due to this.
