Fantastic experience: I saw the most lovely dentist today. I had a wisdom tooth removed at the hospital a few months ago and have been left with a lot of pain on that side of my face and in a few teeth. The dentist I saw was very sympathetic, knowledgeable, friendly and offered me lots of advice to help me. The receptionist staff were really helpful and very friendly too. Overall it was a lovely experience and I appreciate the advice, thank you!

Negative experience: This began over three years ago. I had a full set of casts made for my teeth (I have them at home) and a small denture was made for me. I was told that my old crown prep would need to be removed and was told I was being referred to hospital for this extraction. The hospital referal never arrived and my plastic appliance was kept by the dentist. I saw another dentist at this practice and my crown was refitted. It has come out again and the crown prep is broken and the crown is now unable to be fitted again. So my choice is now pay £3500 for an implant which I cannot afford, or get a flexible denture for £1500 which i also cannot afford. If the old tooth had been removed, then the denture would have fitted. The dentist seemed annoyed at me for being poor - I care for a disabled young one full time. I have a broken tooth that has a hole in it which will become infected given time. I was not given the option to remove it and I have been left high and dry and feel horribly self-conscious and don't smile any more.

Positive experience: Receptionist on arrival always welcoming .. Had a different dentist that i wasnt prepared for. I was called in to see him first as peter hygenist was running late ..who i normally see first.. I was in with the room all off 5 mins with a dentist ive never seen before.. Peter as always was fabulous does a great job .. very careing, gentle. Ive always been nerveous at the dentist but he makes me feel at ease .

Fantastic experience: I'm an extremely nervous patient and had a lot of work to be done. The dentist was very patient with me when my nerves got the better of me and listened to me and made me feel at ease. The dental nurse was also very lovely and kind.

I recently had a lot of work done and dentist Ali, dental nurse Kiani, and the whole team could not have been more reassuring, professional and efficient. I am very happy with the expert work I had. Would recommend setting a consultation appointment for a chat with them if you have any worries about any work required.

Negative experience: I have been debating whether or not to post this review for a few months but my experience at this dentist is still affecting me and I want people to be able to make informed decisions around their health care. I went to the dentist for a check up with Ali and I was informed I needed three fillings at around £700. I agreed and informed Ali that I have only had one form of pain relief which works for me, Citanest. Ali wrote a note about this on my record and when I called up a few days before the appointment to confirm I needed Citanest. At this appointment, I also identified that I am nervous around dentists due to previous pain around my fillings. The appointment for my fillings was about half an hour late, which is understandable as it was in the afternoon and appointments can get behind. I only mention it because I feel it was a factor which impacted my appointment as it was very rushed to make up time and no breaks were offered. An X Ray of my teeth found that one area of decay was larger than previously assumed. In the appointment I had around 5 or more injections, one of which was to my throat (luckily I am not afraid of needles). Ali would ask me if the injections worked e.g. if I had sensation. I would state I did but he seemed sceptical and continued anyway. No breaks were offered. I cried due to the pain but the drilling continued anyway and I felt pressured to carry on. Ali kept stating that we were nearly done and would try more injections which weren’t given time to work. I am not convinced that my worries were taken into account or that Citanest or one of its other forms were used as my mouth never went fully numb. At one point, the patience seemed to wear thin and Ali told me that I must have a ‘low pain tolerance’. I was in a lot of pain, I felt blamed and as though I should be able to cope. I was shaking from the anxiety as well and my fear of dental pain had already been discussed a few weeks earlier in the previous appointment. The one credit to this dentist’s clinic was the dental nurse who seemed to realise I was in a lot of pain and was very kind to me. I remember coming home and crying. It was painful. I have a history of intense anxiety around dentist due to pain and injections not working since childhood. I had a lovely dentist in Ringwood many years ago who figured out Citanest and gave it lots of time to work. I was recommended this dental clinic by my in laws as they had had good experiences with a previous dentist but I did not find this was my experience with Ali. I still have pain in one of the teeth which was worked on but I am too worried at the moment to seek more dental care.

Fantastic experience: I visited the dentist yesterday. I could see it is very clean and tidy. receptionist was really polite. And the dental assistant was nice and welcoming. And the dentist herself was nice and polite and friendly. Always does a great job at checking our teeth thoroughly.

Positive experience: Always friendly and helpful. However, on my most recent visit, it was very disappointing to arrive early for a 1pm appointment to find no one at the desk. And no sign on the front desk informing patients that staff are on lunch. Would be an easy alternative to walking into and waiting in an unstaffed room. Or lock the door and put a sign up informing patients you're closed for lunch? Older patients were quite perturbed and had been waiting quite some time. Slightly irksome that the dentist walks in at ten past 1 when you’ve been waiting for a 1pm appointment. Luckily, I wasn’t in a hurry.

Fantastic experience: This morning I was on my way to my anual dental appointment. Traffic was heavier than expected. I rang to let reception know I was on my way. I did not want to miss my appointment. a very friendly and reassuring voice answered the call. When I got there, I was greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. My stress levels went down immediately. Then I was greeted, this time by the dentist assistant in the same way, and by my dentist. I was made to feel good and in safe hands right away. I am great full to all of them for their kindness and re assuring approach. Thank you

Negative experience: It was not worth spending £104 orthodontist consultation fee as I failed to get the expected outcome. Perhaps a phone consultation and sending dental photos would ideally help not incur such astronomical charges. Now I need yet another consultation with another orthodontist. I did say I was disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I went to Ferndown Dental Practice needing a lot of work done as I hadn't seen a dentist in a few years. I was quite anxious but Dentist Ali and his assistant Hannah put me at ease and were very friendly. When I returned to have the filings and an extraction done, again they helped me relax and did a very good job of my teeth too. I would highly recommend them especially if you are anxious.

Fantastic experience: Just had the best experience with a dental practice, ever. The receptionist was polite, kind, considerate and very helpful. They fitted me in on the day for an emergency appointment, the dentist was on time and so helpful. She listened to me and went with what I said. She did all she could to help and finally resolved my issue. I had been in agony and she fixed it! I could have hugged her. Fantastic experience: I haven't been to the hygienist for years. Always been affraid but today was a very pleasant experience. The person I saw was calming and gentle and gave very good advice. I even booked my next visit as I am less anxious now.

Fantastic experience: This is not my regular dentist and had to book an emergency appointment due to raging toothache. Everyone was amazing, from reception to dental nurse, and the dentist himself, well, he was wonderful! I am a scardy cat where dentists are concerned, but he put me totally at ease. Explaining everything he was doing and exploring every way to save my tooth. Sadly it wasn’t to be and I ended with an extraction. I cannot recommend this dentist enough and would not hesitate to use him again. Thank you, you saved my Christmas!

Fantastic experience: Excellent service. polite and efficient . Reasonable prices for private dentistry. Front lower teeth became loose following bone loss after radiotherapy. Removed two front lower teeth and denture made to replace them (together with several missing back teeth) which ‘fits like a glove’ and (unexpectedly) feels completely unobtrusive and comfortable from day 1.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Ferndown Dental Practice for more than seven years. Fortunately, I haven't had to have any treatment other than check ups but I have used their hygienist, Peter, regularly and he is excellent. Yesterday I manage to break a tooth. I called the Practice and they gave me an appoint for this morning. The dentist was terrific, she fixed me up in no time at all, has a tremendous "bedside manner" and I cannot thank her enough. She certainly put a smile back on my face.

Fantastic experience: Haven’t been to the dentist since I was 18 now 23 felt totally at ease and the dentist was very nice and a massive help. Would highly recommend this practice

Negative experience: AVOID. I enquired about joining not too long ago. I was told I’d hear back within a couple of days via phone call. I didn’t hear back, had to call them again a few weeks later for any updates. There seems to be a real lack of communication between this dentist and the public. There’s better and more considerate dentists out there!

Positive experience: Have been with this practice since the outset and at last it is running smoothly once again. Excellent service, friendly welcome. I have confidence and can recommend them. Fantastic experience: I came to ferndown practice as an emergency patient regarding my wisdom tooth that was impacted. Dentist Ali was amazing, he did all he could for me and sent me of to RBH to get further X-Rays to ensure he could remove the tooh and within a matter of days I was having my wisdom tooth removed. Throughout the whole procedure he talked to me and calmed me down, as i belive I was visibly distressed. Aswell as this I then had composite bonding on my front two teeth and Ali did a great job, they look so natural and have increased my confidence so much. The Dental nurses and recpetionist were all so welcoming and comforting. It was a great experince. Thank you- Chloe :)
