Fantastic experience: I would recommend Whalebone Dental without any hesitation. The surgeries and reception are clean, light and welcoming. The staff are lovely. I had to have a broken tooth removed and it was done under sedation. The care that was given was second to none. Thank you to all involved. I hope I don’t, but if I ever have to go back I won’t be terrified!!!

Negative experience: Do your sedation team not know how to answer the phone ? I have called so many times everytime they hang up the phone on me I rang the main dentist and they transferred the call to the sedation team and I heard them pick the phone up and instantly hang up ? I have been referred over 3 months ago for sedation for tooth removal and I haven’t received a text or email about it I’m in so much pain with this I had to call 111 for emergency dentist appointment and it got temporarily filled but this is not acceptable maybe train ur employees to answer the phone

Negative experience: My husband took our son for check up. He was told that our child needs a few fillings. If we want white fillings it would cost us £50 extra each. Silver amalgam is free under nhs. When we arrived for another appointment. Dentist Nada Mian told, that if we want white, we have to pay £175 for each, and silver amalgam £78 for all four and previous discussed price was a miscommunication. Why that price was not discussed in time of first appointment? What a waist of time! I feel that dentist was trying gaslight us. And dentist assistant was rude, could not bother to show as the treatment room. Arroganlly pointed - forward. This was the last time I was trying this dental clinic. Will find something private, less expensive, more clear and more polite.

Negative experience: The reception is hit and miss over the phone sometimes they are good sometimes completely unhelpful or accommodating. Very difficult to actually get through and speak to someone. Everytime I’ve booked an appointment it’s always been late very frustrating.

Fantastic experience: Extremely happy with all my treatment with Dr Maimoona Khan and nurse Aliza. They are very supportive and patient as I'm extremely nervous, they always make me feel comfortable. Also all the front of house staff are very friendly. Great practice.

Fantastic experience: Anaesthetist and dentist were very nice and kind. Cloth over eyes which I also found very relaxing as well as the sedation. My memory of the 5 extractions is hazy now. I remember them talking and the pin prick of injection in my gums but felt no pain. Felt ok straight after.

I changed my Dentist cause I wasn’t happy because Dentist said that my fill-in needs to be be redone. I went to the dentist and they’ve said there’s nothing wrong with my feeling and I had my teeth cleaned and I cleaned my teeth very well and she explained everything. The other Dentist didn’t do it like this. I had to pay twice to do cleaning my teeth. This Dentist doesn’t do it for the money they do it to make sure that you’re actually happy with your teeth thank you so much and I’m really glad that I changed over Dentist

Fantastic experience: Came to see the hygienist yesterday. Lady did a good job, although I’m really nervous at the dentist. Reception staff are lovely even after having to deal with a rude man at the desk. A guy came out to calm this down, very professional. Even the receptionist dealt with this well. I travel to get here but would never change.

I was nervous before the appointment but they got me sedated within a couple of mins of being in the dentists chair. Thanks to the dentist and anaesthetist for taking away my stress so quickly. Let me put it this way: if they're going to give a damn about you brushing your teeth incorrectly, they know.So there's no point in lying. I was terribly afraid of the dentist for a very long time.Which, of course, is why I have terrible cavities. Today, after a year of treatment, all my teeth are healthy. Am I you happy? Positive experience: Booked for the hygienist, paid £67 in advance for scale and polish.Within 1 minute of sitting in the chair was offered a better 'stain removing' polish for additional £30. I declined. I remember when a scale and polish was provided as standard with your check up. Now its additional £97. Too expensive so just 3 stars. Treatment was excellent though my teeth remain stained.

Fantastic experience: Dr Maimoon + Aliza (Dental Nurse) were fantastic at my check up today. I have extreme anxiety especially at the dentist, but they both made me feel really comfortable. I will be returning as keeping her as my regular dentist! Update : I came back to the clinic as I referred downstairs to the sedation clinic for treatment. And I am so so pleased with my treatment. From admin staff (Petra) to Dr Anish who did my treatment, everyone was so communicative and just fantastic. I couldn’t recommend this clinic more!

Fantastic experience: My daughter was extremely nervous and needle phobic so her first attempt she had a bad experience with the canula and the anaesthetist wasnt very good at trying to reassure her and everything was very rushed. He also sprayed cold spray on top of numbing cream which called a big red reaction and stinging. 2nd attempt 6 weeks later was yesterday i asked that we had a different anaesthetist and things were so much better and she was given time to calm down and given 3 attempts, which the last one was successful. Once canula in, my daughter doesnt remember any of it and has the 2 adult teeth removed. I am very grateful she was allowed to come back and that the 2nd anaesthetist was so much more understanding and considerate. Thank You

Positive experience: Referred for NHS treatment under sedation. The building needs a lot of cosmetic attention and the waiting room is always freezing. Not great for nervous patients (maybe a tv or music for distraction would be nice). My initial appointment was disappointing, filling fell out after 10 days. 2nd appointment went better & hoping filling remains in place. 2nd appt extraction went smoothly. Waiting times for referral were ok compared to other people I have spoken to - 4 months.

I was very anxious to attend due to a previous dentist causing me a lot of pain and leaving my roots behind which caused numerous infections. But all the staff were lovely and understanding that I was anxious. Procedure was done quickly and efficiently. I will definitely recommend this clinic to anyone! Absolutely amazing. Fantastic experience: Dr M Khan is my dentist. She is always very friendly and knowledgeable and gives excellent dental care. I have a strong gagging reflex which makes some procedures like taking x-rays embarrassingly difficult but Dr Khan is always so helpful, kind, patient and supportive. I couldn't ask for better dental care.

Negative experience: If I could give it zero I would. The dentist Katarzyna is very rude, no care on how people feel definitely me as I suffer from anxiety and knowing I have to see her doesn't help one bit. She doesn't listen and assumes just because I've not come sooner with my problem that I couldn't have been in as much pain as I was explaining. But the real reason why I haven't come in sooner is because of a previous experience with her stops me from coming to the dentist.

Fantastic experience: I had my appointment moved to 2 July. I had a brace on my leg at the time and I cannot put into words how amazing every single member of staff were. This is an exceptional practice. You are always treated with dignity, respect and courtesy.

Negative experience: I went to this dentists for a check up for the 1st time for a couple of years,I had a very rude woman dentist m.khan who didn't give a damn about me as a patient and did an xray which showed i had a tooth and gum infection, she refused to prescribed me antibiotics which I found extremely weird saying that she was a qualified dentist etc etc, I left there feeling very badly treated,I tried to speak to the dentist manager wen i phoned after my disastrous visit and got fobbed off.i wouldn't recommend thie dentists to anybody as it isn't the same as it was.

Negative experience: Very unorganised , get date of birth wrong on many occasions , will not tell you they are double booked till you come in. Please double triple check appointments at this dentist as you most likely will be double booked and they will not tell you till there is 2 people fighting to be seen at the same time

Negative experience: I'm not one to usually complain about anything ever but the service i recieved from the whalebone Lane dentist was quite poor ..I wasn't seen on time at 1420 and wasn't seen till 1520 a hour late ! Secondly the process was quite rushed and the team of staff there were very rude and not very helpful not just to me but to everybody waiting to be seen!! on top off all that the work I had done wasn't satisfactory and in my eyes not done properly the tooth removal was OK but I also had 2 fillings fillings that the next day I noticed wasn't filled correctly at all and a few days later ie now on sunday 22nd June it now actually feels like there was no filing even undertaken very disappointed and unsatisfied especially as i don't get dental care for free and have to pay for any work that I need done

Fantastic experience: my daughter had a sedation to remove 2 teeth. The people at Whalebone where so good with her as she has extreme anxiety when it comes to needles and dentists. It took a while but with gentle handling from the staff (one lady who I wish I could remember her name) was just the best at calming my daughter down, explaining and reassuring which I am sure helped with her being able to be sedated and having the teeth removed. 110% recommend.

Fantastic experience: As a nervous patient I obsess over all aspects of treatment for months sometimes week beforehand. All of the staff at Whalebone Lane were great from the receptionists to the anaesthetist to the dentist and as I have more work coming up I know what to expect and can worry about it all a little less. I can't imagine it was a small job with my recent extractions and I'm very thankful for the experience overall being as smooth as something like that can possibly be. Very efficient in time as well.

Positive experience: I am terrified of going to the dentist but the Hygiene staff here are extremely understanding and caring. As a result my dental health is improving and I will hopefully avoid more intense treatment for longer.

Fantastic experience: Very happy with my appointment. The staff are friendly and the dental practitioner was patient, kind and explained exactly what was going to happen. I was very nervous as I had not been to the dentist in years, but the practitioner was excellent.

Negative experience: If I could give a 0 star I would. Referred by my dentist for an x-ray, I asked my dentist twice if I could have it because I was pregnant and she said it was fine. Went for the x-ray they took my money. Before having x-ray I thought best to double check and surprise, I could not have it. Told the receptionist and they said they could not refund me, I needed to fill a form out and then it would take 10 working. 10 working days came and went, no refund. It took over 20 calls and left voicemails until I received the refund 2 months later. I will avoid at all costs now.

Fantastic experience: Yesterday, my son had a dental procedure involving sedation to remove two teeth, and I couldn't be more grateful for the amazing care we received. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly helpful, friendly, and communicative. They made both my son and I feel comfortable and reassured throughout the entire process. They took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all our questions with patience, and showed genuine care and kindness. Positive experience: Great dentists but please please can you properly mark out the disabled parking bay? Cars always park too close (or even hanging over) to be able to open the door and you have cones to keep the fire door clear, right next to it. It makes it incredibly hard. Just clear markings on the ground, with the proper space around it. More than one would be even better but I’ll take what I can get! Thanks :)

Fantastic experience: Attended Whalebone Lane dental practice for the extraction of 2 front teeth. The experience was just like going to the cinema and watching a good film.

Negative experience: Honestly its no star for me. Absolutely unprofessional and rude. My mother who is in her 70s needed a urgent check and we received a appointment 2 weeks later, after waiting then going for the appointment we were told it was rebooked without any update. Then after waiting for another appointment that one was cancelled to. When the 3rd appointment was about to take place they cancelled that too. Absolute jokers at this place. Will be changing dentist ASAP.

Negative experience: Absolutely awful experience. Avoid this practice if you care about professionalism and proper care for your children. I took my son to his dental appointment with Sri Salooja Ganesalingam, and within less than a minute of barely looking at him, she said he was “all done” and didn’t need braces. I was shocked at how rushed and dismissive the check-up was, especially when my son clearly has gaps in his teeth. I politely questioned the quick assessment and asked for a referral to an orthodontist just to get a proper specialist’s opinion. She abruptly said “they’ll probably reject you,” and then, incredibly, told me she wouldn’t refer him at all anymore. She also said she wouldn’t see my daughter next for her scheduled appointment. This was said in front of both of my children which is extremely upsetting and unprofessional. When I asked to speak to someone in charge, a staff member (possibly the manager at the time) came in and said someone would call me the next day to rebook with another dentist. Instead, the next day, Mandy Wolfe, who identified herself as the manager, called and told me bluntly that we are no longer welcome at the practice and I must find a new dentist for my children. When I asked for this in writing and the reason behind it, she said she will get back to me which I’m yet to get. I also mentioned I would be writing this review she told me to “go ahead.” Reading through other reviews, I now realise I’m not the only parent who has experienced rushed appointments, poor communication, and a dismissive attitude from this practice. Clearly, these issues are ongoing and they are doing nothing to fix them. If you care about your children being treated with respect and professionalism, I strongly recommend you go elsewhere. This place is beyond disappointing.

Negative experience: When I went into the dentist no one looked up at me one was busy typing didn’t even say hello and the other looked like she could t be bothered the music they had in reception was some house music should not be playing that all I rather here nothing playing I am not at a rave I am at a dentist waiting to be put under so that music was not acceptable at all I didn’t go though on time and when I did there was this man he was to loud and irritating I have had sedation many times and never had no one loud like him it was off putting the upside waiting area was clean

Negative experience: AVOID THIS PRACTICE AT ALL COSTS The staff are always so rude and unhelpful in particular there is a dentist called Mamuna who is the rudest person I’ve ever met. So if you do have the unfortunate luck of being a patient here, avoid seeing her as you’ll regret it. And if you are looking to join, I’d stay well clear. I had an appointment with Mamuna and from the off she started telling me I’m wasting her time and shouldn’t question her as I’m not qualified to. They also take ages to issue a refund. I’ve attempted to make a complaint to their practice manager Samuel, but I’ve had no response. It says in their complaints procedure that he would be in touch within 3 days. Looks like we’ll be taking this further to PALs but I’m just warning everyone who is considering this place to proceed with caution
