Fantastic experience: NHS gets bad revues. Been at Lorne House NHS dentist yesterday. On time, treated with care and given good advice . So what could be better? Recommend them 5 stars!

Fantastic experience: My practitioner Alison Mackay is always very welcoming. I have a dental phobia and she does her best to make me feel calm and relaxed. The reception staff are friendly and welcoming and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Great dentist. Easy to park in town and just a short walk to get there. Pauline on reception always greets you with a smile. I saw Michael yesterday. He was caring and gentle and didn't rush. I normally see Avani, but she was day off. I was worried about seeing a new dentist but there was no need. Thank you so much for your great care and attention.

I was anxious when my dentist left for another practice, but the dentist I have now, Dr Alison Mackay, is just as nice/caring. Would recommend if you want to become a patient there.

Positive experience: Never had a problem with any dental worker or receptionist at this practice. The only downside is the same as every other dentist or doctor. There needs to be more appointments available with less of a wait time.

I have used them for several years and despite the enforced interruption by COVID I see no reason to discontinue taking advantage of their professionalism in future.

As a very nervous ‘patient’ due to having asthma and problem breathing through nose it takes a good dentist to get me in and out of chair without too much fuss. Fantastic experience: I can't express enough how grateful I am for the people at this practice for always making sure I get the treatment i need. I had always been phobic of the dentists chair so always left my needs until the last minute but they always managed to help. Here is where I give a big shout out to Avani Desai ( I think she is a dental therapist) who's patience and willingness to understand this phobia has changed my whole experience of the dentist. I no longer live with dental pain because she has given me the confidence to sit in her chair. I am still nervous but i trust I will be okay. I even have the confidence to book my appointments in advance and not miss out on treatment. Anxiety is minimal now but I am pain free for the first time in a long time. All the staff are great, from reception through to whoever will treat you. If you are nervous like me... this is the place you should be getting your treatment.

Fantastic experience: Professional and friendly dental practice housed in a charming and tastefully renovated traditional building. Follow-up 29th March 2023. Still happy to recommend this practice as the level of care and professionalism from Alison Mackay and her dental nurse are second to none. Admin staff also very helpful. Update October 2023. Had an emergency appointment in Glenrothes on a Sunday courtesy of NHS24 Scotland after breaking a tooth, resulting in considerable pain. I was able to see Alison at Lorne House only 2 days later to check the repair and agree a course of action. Service at this dental surgery is still excellent. Update August 2024. The emergency, temporary, repair from the NHS 24 practice based in Glenrothes finally parted company, resulting in my contacting Lorne House, whose excellent reception colleague managed to fit me in at very short notice. Alison Mackay subsequently undertook a brief but thorough examination and a course of action was agreed. All very much appreciated by this patient, who is happy to continue to recommend the practice.

Obviously the staff have changed but I have been more than happy with each and every person from the friendly professional reception staff mainly Pauline, to my Dentist Alison who is always cheery and puts me at ease explaining what she is going to do. Recently I've had to attend an emergency appointment with another professional at the practice who equally made me at ease especially the Dental nurse who chatted to me while waiting on the other dentist to come. I would highly recommend this Dental Practice..thank you girls for making my experience as stress free as possible.

Negative experience: Used to be good dentist but standard has drastically dropped. Bad communication with last minutes changes. Cancelling appointment a hour before because they haven’t received lab work for an appointment organised weeks ago! Basic work not getting done properly or getting outsourced to students because they’re so understaffed and having to get treatment redone again and again. Will definitely be looking for new dentist once current treatment is finished, whenever that will be.

Negative experience: It's a pain to get through to them on the phone, as it's always busy or understaffed. Last visit, they drilled my tooth in preparation for root canal. Temporary filling lasted about a week.They then cancelled my appointment and was told someone would get back to me, which up until now( 6weeks), never have. So currently have a huge drilled hole in my tooth, and can't get hold of these folk to fix it. NHS had had its day. Last experience was ok, but after letting me down and not getting back to me, I'm not impressed at all. If I'd stayed away I'd have been better off!
