Positive experience: Always had good experience at this Dentist. Taj is brlliant . very helpful and polite. However yesterday after seing the Hygeinist, my teeth did not feel clean, it woud have been better if enough water had been used to wash my mouth whilst cleaning my teeth. It was almost a dry cleaning. Left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Positive experience: This appointment was for dental impressions prior to having some dentures. Many previous appointments were cancelled by the practice due to ongoing resource issues. Thankfully today’s appointment was carried out very efficiently by Sanaz and hopefully a kept follow up appointment in 2 weeks time.

Fantastic experience: After going through a period of not being able to get an appt, Carterton Dental reached out to make an appt. Seen promptly, very friendly dentist (Mr C. Pavlidis) and very efficient. Friendly reception to for calls and in person.

Negative experience: The appointment for my partner and I was due to take place on the 3/8/22. We were running late due to circumstances beyond our control and did not have time to contact the practice to advise them of this. When we got there, both appointments were knocked out. I could understand my partner's one being thus, but there was time for mine to take place. We got neither and have not booked again since because of the way we were treated by the Receptionist. Moreover, the alert E-Mails were still set to 'pandemic' mode, even though the rules about face masks are no longer in force (which includes Healthcare Settings now) and restricted access to the surgery was no longer exercised. We were also advised to visit the toilet before we came as the toilets had restricted access. This seemed to both of us to be pretty childish - we are mature adults - and it didn't allow for someone who was disabled and might need the loo urgently. These things I put in an E-Mail over two months ago, amid concern that the surgery was going a bit too far with its stipulations, but no-one bothered to reply. To date, I have never received a response. So we still haven't got a dental appointment any time soon, without these stupid out of date restrictions. I noticed that my partner and I are not the only ones with Autism, and treated badly, judging by the most recent review. The surgery needs to get its act together or they will lose clients.

Negative experience: Our appointments were cancelled several times, which was already quite inconvenient. When I finally managed to book an appointment for myself and my daughters — and it wasn’t cancelled this time — we arrived on time and waited for 20 minutes, being assured that it wouldn’t take long. Then we were told that the dentist might arrive in another 20 minutes because no one had informed her about our 8 a.m. appointment. This level of disorganization and lack of communication is very disappointing, especially after multiple cancellations. Our time is valuable too, and this experience was extremely frustrating and unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: Dr Kamat was thorough, kind and gentle. She took time to understand and to explain treatment options and costs. As a nervous patient this was very reassuring. There was no wait. But our family may have been the first in at 9am.

Positive experience: Really easy to register my children and put myself onto the NHS waiting list. Dentist Sanaz was kind, patient and friendly towards the children and explained things clearly. Reception staff friendly and helpful when you speak to them, however the overall communication from the clerical side could be better. I was told I’d be paying reduced cost for myself on the Roderick scheme but that was no longer available and was not explained to me before attending my appointment, the dentist told me as they were about to examine me! I also did not get confirmation or reminder notifications for my appointment but I did for my children’s. I emailed the practice to change my appointment 2 weeks in advance and had no reply, not even to a second one I sent chasing my initial enquiry. I had to go into the practice in person where I was told my emails had been received but was best to ring in future! Hence my 4 star review.

Fantastic experience: After a long period when it was almost impossible to get an appointment, Carterton Dental are finally back in action. I've been with them for over 20 years and seen a fair few dentists come and go. I'm very happy to be treated there and the dentist I see seems lovely. I'm a phobic patient needing a fair amount of work but they are always kind and do their best to keep me happy!

Negative experience: Disappointed not to see a dentist. Have a painful tooth which I wanted removed but she was not qualified. Have to wait another month to get it sorted.

Negative experience: If you want to use the NHS service here i wouldn't bother. You can book an appointment and in a 6 month period they will cancel many times. 5 times my root canal has been cancelled due to Dentist / nurses being off sick. They've had more sick days in 6 months than i have had in 10 years at my job. Chances are if you use the private service it will be done in a week and never cancelled. Shame because from what i can gather the receptionists are all lovely and welcoming.

Fantastic experience: Great service at Carterton Dental Practice. I got an appointment within a few days of contacting them and received reminders. I was seen exactly on time by a lovely dentist who explained the cause of my pain and how to cure it, in a very clear and professional manner. The nurse and receptionist were likewise very professional and pleasant. A very efficient team.

Fantastic experience: I became a patient here early in 2025 and have consistently received excellent care and attention from every member of staff that I have been in contact with. My first NHS appointment was a thorough review of my situation and a discussion about the work and timescale involved to correct my dental issues. Every stage was explained and I understood what was required. Once stabilised, I opted to explore how veneers (private cost) could further enhance my confidence; I have not smiled in a photograph for 7 years. The costs were explained, and the work was demonstrated with an idea of the results I could obtain. The dialogue with and the care from the dentist and assistant helped me to make an informed decision. I am absolutely delighted with the work completed, the results achieved, and the after care received from the dentist. It has changed my outlook and I now smile without fear; my friends and family all notice the change. I have further NHS and private work to be completed and I am confident of further improvements.

Negative experience: Service is appalling, treatment not done due to them losing records. Waited 45 minutes to be seen for nothing to be done. They cancelled my previous appointment 3 months prior to this one and lost records of treatment. The manager is of no help at all. If I could give it less stars I would.

I've been with Carterton dental for over 20 years, they are so professional from the receptionist to the dentist, they always have time for you.
