St John's Dental Practice

Fantastic experience: I had really bad pain and woke up at 4am this morning due to my upper right wisdom tooth. I got seen asap and Dr Milena Cezpva and Nurse Bamdana were so nice, polite and professional. Dr milena and nurse bamdana reassured me all the way through the procedure and asking if there was any pain when she removed it. Nurse Bamdana held my hand the whole way through and i wanna apologise as i think i held too hard but she didnt complain she took it with grace. These two are amazing at their profession and hats off to them !!

Fantastic experience: Had to get two fillings done, Milena worked very gently and quick i felt no pain she’s a very good dentist, overall everyone is so lovely and welcoming i highly recommend.

Negative experience: They do not pick up your calls, but on the rare occasions when they do, the receptionist pretends to not hear you speak and hangs up. Absolutely outrageous, especially when their phone number was given by the 111 services for emergency cases

Fantastic experience: My warm thanks both to the dentist Dr Milena for an excellent consultation this morning and to the hygienist Bhwanna for her careful, immaculate work. Dr Milena is wonderful - she took care to check for lumps and bumps around my neck and jaw. She took a photo of an affected tooth and showed me on-screen, clearly explaining the pros and cons of my treatment options as well as giving me valuable feedback on gum health. I felt confidence in her and felt in good hands. I will be back to her for treatment. Bhwanna was welcoming, responsive and cleaned my teeth excellently. She gave some very helpful inputs. She understood when I needed to pause sometimes and accommodated me beautifully. I highly recommend both Dr Milena and Bhwanna - I can almost say I enjoyed going to the dentist and certainly feel gratitude for the professionalism and care I received! Thanks also to the reception team who are also fantastic !

Negative experience: Dangerous and unprofessional. Sent me for a hospital treatment they afterwards told me hadn't been needed. Called me a liar to my face about my dental habits because they couldn't answer my questions. Manager apologised following an independent complaint and review, but the dentist refused to. Please avoid and protect your health.

Fantastic experience: I haven't been to the dentist's in I have no idea how long. (Years - many). I had a very bad experience when I was a child, that instilled a fear in me. The team at St John's Dental Practice has been fantastic, I saw Dr Tanisha, who was really kind and super fast and then the Hygenist Grace who made me feel really at ease and would check in to see if I was okay. Maisie in reception has also been very helpful! The experience overall has been brilliant, and would highly recommend.

Negative experience: Avoid this dental practice if you have accessibility needs. No accessibility into the dentist. I struggled with my 21 month old and the pram getting up two HUGE steps and 2 HUGE steps down into reception. My child was extremely distressed and we were still offered no help upon leaving. I cancelled the appointment as this dental practice had no accessibility and was very dangerous being close to a busy road and steps which could’ve harmed me and my child. Just to add, I did inform the receptionist I would be arriving with a pram at 9am, to which she stated she would help but that did not happen.

Negative experience: Inflexible with appointments. I had to call in sick for an appointment which I wanted to move a couple days. They said I would loose my £40 deposit even though they specified in their policy that one shouldn‘t come in sick. Has not happened to me at any other dentist. Will not frequent them again and not recommend them to anyone. It‘s a risk to the dentist and other patients.

Positive experience: I had an excellent dental cleaning performed by Grace. She was gentle, yet extremely effective! She is also patient, attentive and very kind. Overall, a lovely and efficient experience!

Fantastic experience: Dr Josephine Chapman and her assistant Sadie are friendly, professional and more than competent in what they do. I'm not a fan of going to the dentist, but they did all they could to assure me that I was in good hands. I was thoroughly and properly looked after.

Fantastic experience: Dr Sita Madaan has been our family dentist for some years and I have recommended her to all my friends struggling to find a good dentist for their children. She is really friendly and takes the time to answer any questions we have. She does not judge at all but instead educates and helps find solution. I’m so happy that my boys have had such a great experience with their dentist, she always makes them feel comfortable and talks to them age appropriately.

Negative experience: I had a very poor experience here and felt like I was being ripped off. The dentist spent the whole time being patronising and trying to make me feel bad for not being able to afford £3000 braces that I didn’t even need. I also had an overpriced filling that came out after just a few weeks and they refused to repair it. I ended up going to another Oxford dentist to get the filling redone which was both cheaper and came with a year guarantee. It’s now been over six months and it’s still going strong. I can now see how poor my service at St John’s Dental had been. Update: it’s been over 2 years and the filling from the other Oxford dentist is still in place. This makes the fact that St John’s wouldn’t replace my filling even more ridiculous. The St John’s dentist blamed me for it coming out as I couldn’t afford for these very expensive (and unnecessary) braces.

Fantastic experience: I had my first ever fillings with Dr Sita Madaan and Sophia and they were brilliant! I was really nervous but they made sure I was fine and I didn’t feel a thing during the whole procedure! Can’t thank them both enough.

Negative experience: Stay well clear of this dentist, second time going to this dentist and the last. Walked in and both laughing and was carry on the joke and laugh when I was in there not very professional at all would never get that in a doctors. Then sat in the chair told them about a problem with my wisdom tooth just said to get an xray at the hospital. Was in the chair about 30second for this check up rushed out the door. This same dentist told my daughter she needed a Invisalign brace as soon as she turned 18 and she has the most perfect teeth. All this dentist cares about is selling expensive products and to get you out the door as soon as possible.

Having recently transferred as an patient from Faringdon, the difference in service is really quite remarkable. I had virtually given up on the prospect of finding an NHS dentist, let alone a practice that is as good and efficient as yours. Dr Reema Khalid and her colleague Isobel are a fabulous team - seeming to work together by telepathy! I can highly recommend their services - you will extremely pleased that you selected this practice.

Negative experience: I have been twice now since the lockdown and both times I got a very poor impression. The recent check-up (NHS) was extremely short. After this I was strongly recommended two follow-up treatments, with loss of teeth and gum disease being mentioned as outcomes without treatment. If I hadn't asked any questions then the entire session would have been approximately 3 minutes long and left me with the strong impression that I required over £3000 worth of treatment. When I asked to know if these were covered by the NHS, I was told no. So are these treatments clinically necessary or not? I still have no clear idea. My concern is that I am being pushed out the door as quickly as possible, while also be urged to opt for expensive procedures (for which there are adverts on the walls of the surgery). I have lost all trust that I am being given good advice. If I could transfer to a different NHS dentist I would.

Fantastic experience: Highly professional and caring dentistry.

Fantastic experience: This is a great dental clinic, offering a broad range of dental service. This means that, as a family, we have had all our dental health needs covered in the same place. Dr Sarabi, in particular, has been extremely kind with one member of our household who has anxiety, and extremely helpful at ensuring that another one receives the treatment that they need. The fact that the clinic brings together various areas of expertise means that the various doctors can coordinate the various phases of their treatments with each other. This was particularly helpful and reassuring when I was undergoing a complex treatment during the Covid-19 pandemic which required input from two different areas of dentistry. I felt that the doctors in question were in communication with each other and working together to ensure a successful outcome in rather difficult and stressful circumstances. I also feel very comfortable discussing the various treatments options with the team (and the associated costings). In particular, the practice manager, Ms Sophia Struenker, has always been very willing to discuss payment plans.

Negative experience: Avoid Dr Sita Madaan. To quote a previous customer's google rating comment: "Don't be enticed by open NHS patient slots". 1. She doesn’t explain well, even if you pay for expansive private service. 2. Her treatment techniques are not good enough. My wisdom tooth was removed by a male dentist during the surgery because she tried and found she couldn’t remove it! It took 2-3 hours for wisdom tooth removal. 3. She is not professional. If you choose private service, go for someone who is more experienced and friendly. 4. She is more sales and aesthetic dentist rather than a treatment dentist. If you are not looking for aesthetic service, go for other dentist. My situation is: I felt embarrassed every time I went to see Dr Sita Madaan. As a NHS patient, Dr Madaan once tried to promote her invisalign service, I refused. After that, the experience became very awkward. If you are looking for a dentist who is friendly and patient to explain why they offer their treatment plan, perhaps Dr Madaan is not your first choice. it is understandable that a dentist is also a sales staff who may want to convince you of their high-cost service. Please note that Dr Madaan is definitely not a good sales person, she wants a deal within a short time. If no, then what you get is an under-average (NHS) customer service. If you are happy to accept her offer, congratulations, you can expect friendly smile and patient explanations. If you would like to go to st John's for treatment (not for aesthetic service!), just book an appointment with other dentists.

But it's possible thanks to Dr. Garcia and nurse Khuma who are consummate professional, relaxed and friendly with a genuine interest in my overall well-being. Fantastic experience: Not particularly fond of dentists after some previous experiences. However, with Dr Madaan I finally did feel confident and was treated superbly professionally and kindly. All my problems were diagnosed and explained to me very clearly, together with outline of treatment and honesty about its extent.I highly recommend, as I feel well taken care of.

Fantastic experience: I was frightened of going to the dentist, but Dr. Sita Madaan was by far the best. She produces excellent results and, more importantly, she listens. Thanks to her, I now practise dental hygiene in a different way, and she's taught me a lot of things that I wish someone had explained to me years ago. Sita is the most knowledgeable and competent dentist I have ever worked with. Because of unfortunate circumstances, I have had to visit many dentists throughout my life, and I would not hesitate to return to Sita. I must admit that I am very pleased and grateful for her help and support.

Fantastic experience: Dr Serabi has been my family dentist for over 10 years, always calm and friendly and so professional and thorough. He's so very gentle with my son too, which is really important, kids need to like going to see their dentist. It is such a great practice, with lovely friendly reception staff and a hygienist who is gentle but very thorough. My teeth look amazing after she's cleaned them. Fantastic experience: Have been regular patient of Dr. Sarabi for three years. Had several treatments, including an implant which was tricky to do but successful. I fully trust his opinion and work. He has a lot experience in complex treatments, he is cautious and explains everything very well. The process is clear and makes me feel confident. What I am happier with is that he has changed my dental routines to avoid problems, so has prevented new problems and issues emerging. The clinic is very well managed and staff helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I am extreme dentophobe… how my dentist experiences tend to go is floods of tears, shaking, unable to talk properly and that’s just stepping in the door.. But I came to St Johns after a lengthy search for a NHS dentist. The waiting room is very calming and welcoming and doesn’t feel like a dentist waiting room. And then Patricia tops it off as my dentist! She was so kind and listened to my worries and fears.. she took her time with me and I managed to have her examine me WITHOUT tears!! She somehow kept me calm and collected and has made me gain faith in a dentist! She also laid out a plan to slowly go at my pace to get through the various dental work needed due to years of dentist avoidance by me! Thank you for helping me begin my journey in getting rid of my phobia!

Fantastic experience: Managed to get a short notice appointment after an accident resulting in a damaged tooth (wear a mouth guard whilst doing jiu-jitsu, all I'm saying). Couldn't have been happier with the service, From the reception staff to the dentist and dental nurse, all of whom were polite, friendly and professional. Saw the dentist who took xrays, showed me the problem and explained what would need to be done along with potential other options if this course of treatment didn't work. Very highly recommended. Most certainly going to be my regular dentist from now on.

Negative experience: I went for an NHS check due to a cracked tooth. Paid in advance which seemed odd but even odder was that the dentist barely looked in my mouth or at my X-ray and my appointment must have only lasted 5-10 minutes. When I asked about my X-ray I was told it was fine, no decay, however I would need a crown or an on-lay. Just been to my old dentist for a second opinion who looked at my teeth properly, showed me my X-ray and pointed out a fair amount of decay under that tooth. It needs a new filling and potentially a root canal - but no crown at this time. Would not recommend this place - they don't seem to know what they are talking about (especially when they barely look at your teeth or X-ray!)
