Negative experience: I had a tooth extraction at Dakatra Ltd, an NHS-affiliated dental practice by Oral Surgery Ltd, and I found the place extremely overcrowded. They seem to deal with an overwhelming number of patients every day, and perhaps because of this constant rush, the whole team appears to have lost any real human touch. There’s no warmth or genuine communication with patients – just a cold, detached atmosphere. To be fair, the queue management is very efficient, which is probably a necessity given the huge flow of people, so the waiting time was minimal. However, the dental assistant who showed me to the treatment room gave me no preliminary information at all – just a brief “good morning.” About fifteen minutes later, the dentist came in, and again, there was barely any communication. No details were provided regarding the dental implant I plan to have to replace the extracted tooth, only some very generic advice on how to manage the bleeding afterwards, repeated mechanically by the assistant. Once the extraction was done, the dentist immediately rushed off to the next patient without saying a single word. Overall, the whole experience felt more like being treated on a cold “assembly line” than in a place that genuinely cares for its patients.

Positive experience: Worth noting that there is a bit of a wait (no more than 2 hours start to finish). I hadn't accounted for this as hadn't read the booking details properly so was a bit stressed at missing another appointment. But the staff were brilliant and very friendly. They were really helpful and I was in and out in just over an hour. There is no reception which can seem a bit unfriendly but the staff really do make up for it and are very competent and professional.

Fantastic experience: I had surgery to remove a back tooth by Tarik. Tarik & the nurse took their time to explain the procedure & answer questions. Negative experience: Worst experience ever from receiving email till the end. They have mixed my name surname and title , suddenly I became Mr. Once call to the room only asked do I tend to bleed. Then just jabbed me with injection no numbing gel.and straight to pull my teeth when told I coul still feel because it takes couple of minutes to kick in he said I couldn't feel and made me feel like a liar. Then injected more. No talking through nothing. Worst ever experience. And you wander why people afraid of dentist.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Dakatra by my NHS dentist for a tooth extraction and can honestly say that my experience has been amazing! I arrived at the local hub in Rainham and was seen very quickly. My dental surgeon was Mairaj Mazhar and she is wonderful. Her nurse looked after me very well too. The procedure was explained fully to me and their professionalism was exceptional. I feel very valued and well cared for as a patient.

Fantastic experience: I cannot speak highly enough of this clinic and my practitioners. I was much more anxious than I had realised and my surgeon, Tarik, and my nurse, Yanaira, immediately put me at ease by being both kind and funny. And I truly couldn’t have asked for an easier procedure. Tarik ensured me the injections would be the hardest part, but even them I barely felt, as he did them with such care. The tooth extraction itself was then over before I’d even realised it had begun. I was so relieved and grateful. Really recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: Couldn't have asked for a smoother wisdom tooth extraction. 1000/10. Didn't take Dr Sam more than 1 minute to extract my tooth. Positive experience: The waiting time was nearly an hour past my appointment time, which was quite disappointing, but once I was seen, the staff were kind and reassuring. Positive experience: The appointment was booked for 1300 hrs and I arrived at 1245 hrs. I was finally seen at around 1425 hrs. The actual procedure (A tooth removal) was carried out by 'Samy' and was very well done showing care and empathy. The whole procedure took round 10 minutes. My only criticism would be that they should really keep as close as possible to the allocated appointment times. Other patients waiting felt the same. I found out subsequently that they were 'filming' in the surgery earlier and this may have delayed matters.

Negative experience: Dentist or Butchers?? I came here for a tooth extraction of 3 teeth. I had an infection which has spread to my face. My whole right side and cheek were swollen and my right eye not able to open properly. It’s honestly the most painful thing I’ve experienced. When I arrived at the clinic it was one of those really hot days. I was confused, didn’t see a reception area and waited for a member of the waiting area to help me… I was called in about 20 mins later. The room was spotlessly clean but with no warning at all I was simply asked to open wide and suddenly I felt something scratch the roof of my mouth hard. Then what followed were 3 more hard scratches. These were extra painful because of my swelling and bad infection. I would have appreciated being warned or even told ‘sharp scratch incoming’ When I declared this the dentist, Tarik, insisted he had told me.. I must have gone deaf for that minute then because I was up close and didn’t hear a thing. I’m not a child, you don’t have to trick me into giving me injections. To not tell a patient is actually dangerous. Next before the anesthetic could work he began yanking at my teeth declaring that I wouldn’t feel pain as the teeth had ‘no nerves’ I did infact feel a lot of pain and so much so it made me burst into tears. To which I was shouted and told ‘Isabella we are in the middle of an operation’ In other words ‘be quiet and take it I have other things to do today’ After the teeth were yanked from my head I was further told off again for crying and then sent on my way no after care advice, no talk of pain relief and no advice on antibiotics. As I was getting to my feet I cried to the nurse that my mouth was in a lot of pain and she looked at my face and said ‘no no there shouldn’t be any pain’ As medical professionals I find it shocking that you can tell a person if they are or aren’t in pain. I felt chewed up and spat out and it was only when I got home 20 minutes later that my mouth had actually gone numb. The nurse Sheila was lovely, really kind and warm but Tarik is more of a check out person running people on a conveyor belt, in and out. I wasn’t handled with care or compassion in the slightest and if I didn’t have a holiday to go on tomorrow, I would pursue a complaint with CQC.

Positive experience: Visiting the dentist is never a pleasant experience let's be honest. However having had a toothache for 3 weeks I attended the surgery to have my bottom wisdom tooth removed. It was extremely busy to say the least and there needs to be more seating available for patients. I waited approx 2 hours but once seen the service was extremely quick and professional. However, the signage as you arrive isn't very clear in expressing that there is no reception or reception staff and there is only a tiny sign to say ring a tiny bell on the other side of the waiting room. Literally EVERYONE including myself who arrived was confused. So felt a bit unorganised at the beginning. But again great friendly and efficient staff. Thank you.
