Fantastic experience: Best dentist ever! I have terrible fear of the dentist and I’ve had to have some treatment this year. Dr Viyona Patel has been my dentist with the support of Ana and they have been wonderful. They explain things very clearly, and have been extremely patient with me as a nervous patient. I’ve also seen Charlene the hygienist who is fantastic. All of the reception team are tremendously helpful and polite. I’m not sure I’ll ever say I’m looking forward to the dentist, but I know at Streatham Dental Care it will always be great treatment and a kind, supportive, and professional team. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I just had my appointment with the dental hygienist named Charlene and I was blown away. I had great anxiety about my appointment as I’ve never been to the dentist and had a good experience since I was a child. I would always come away from the cleaning bloody and sore, the experience always made me cry (because, mouth pain for me is the most intense pain ever - I’ve been hit in the head with a plank wood with nails in and I prefer that mouth pain for me is excruciating). But Charlene was truly world class. From the moment the appointment began she was welcoming, funny, kind and most importantly really good at her job. She did the cleaning without any bleeding, without the need of help from a second nurse and I left feeling such a sense of relief. In general medical appointments can be daunting experiences because our staff are overworked and underpaid and this spills into the service we receive as they are stretched to their limits - but experiences like this, with Charlene are truly remarkable in the impact they make not only on the patient but on their confidence facing future appointments. Charlene, I don’t know if this review will get seen by you, or if you get anything for this but I hope you do as you were amazing and it was truly a pleasure to meet you today. I wish you and all the staff at the practice a wonderful day and, since we are in November: have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I look forward to my next appointment and thank you for today.

Fantastic experience: I always ask for Charlene for my dental hygiene appointments, she is brilliant. I have exposed nerves and I’m very nervous but she cleans with real care and always puts me at my ease

Negative experience: Reception staff lovely. I had a tooth that broke . It took 9 days to get an appt . I eventually had a temp filling done on the nhs and booked an appt for a crown 6 weeks later . My temp filling fell out within 24 hrs . I contacted them to get it replaced and was asked to pay again . I refused , as a temp filling should last till the next appt . Dipen has a lovely manner usually , but this time I just found him patronising and bordering rude .. I have had a very difficult time over the last 2 years and he just kept going on and on about how long it has been since my last appt and repeating himself I had an x-Ray and a photo done of my tooth . I saw some brown dots on the photo and I asked if the brown dots were caries on the X-ray . He was quite rude and said that’s a photo and that’s an x-ray . How bloody rude ,you don’t talk to patient’s like that, I do not trust his ability if a temp filling just falls out that quickly . If it is not going to stay in , don’t put a temp filling in and give me advice and get my crown done sooner than later . He just wanted to inconvenience me and make me go private. I was told if I don’t pay again for another temp filling I would be barred,so I paid and the second one fell out . I was not happy and just felt like he is cash focused and not patient focused . I will be going somewhere where someone sees his patients as people and not just opportunities for making loads of £££££££££££££

Negative experience: came in not long ago with my relative. not happy with the service this time as my relative was being friendly and kind and making jokes to lighten the mood and the dentist was very passive aggressive towards them. I’m not happy with the appointment this time and didn’t even say bye. i’m very disappointed. Quick enough to take your money! you would expected kindness in return but this wasn’t the case.

Fantastic experience: Best dentist I’ve had by a long way. Dr Patel is very knowledgeable and open and honest about what he’s doing which makes you feel very confident and comfortable. Plus the reception staff are helpful and efficient. Update - I’ve just seen Charlene the hygienist and she is great - thorough but also sensitive and kind and makes you feel very comfortable.

Positive experience: The dentist and hygienist (both new) each took on board my sensory (hearing loss) issue. They talked to me and actively listened.I cannot believe I am saying this but I really enjoyed my appointment.

Negative experience: Dr Sara Mihssin GDC 283342 Will leave you with permanent tooth nerve damage. After asking if all was ok after she did her filling October 2022 I go abroad and by chance go to a dentist abroad. Sara left rot under the filling. Even when fixing minor things multiple trips to fix a retainer so it wouldn’t keep falling off. Go abroad and it get it done it hasn’t fallen off once. This practise just fails to take responsibility and will blame you rather than look to themselves. Shocking. She mentioned she doesn’t like general dentistry and wants to focus on cosmetic only. Clearly as general she’ll ruin your nerve. Don’t let her near you

Dr Sara my dentist is informative, explains things clearly and really well and really cares about her work. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Me and all my family have been seen here for years, very good service and friendly staff. I have been seeing Dr Sara for the past few years and my children are always so excited for their appointments.

Negative experience: - Paid to have same tooth filled twice - so £320 already spent. -After just 6 weeks tooth/filling damaged and am left in agony. - Say they can't see me for 7 weeks so NOT same day for emergency as website indicates. - A filling should last longer than 6 weeks and same filling should need to be redone twice in 2 years! - Emergencies should be seen quicker than 7 weeks. - Incredibly poor service - one to avoid as they are happy take money, but have clearly done a poor job ( twice) and seem happy to let you suffer for nearly 2 months as a direct result!

Fantastic experience: First time at Streatham Dental Care, I had a check-up with Dr Sara Mihssin who was so kind - I've never had an appointment where everything has been explained to me so clearly. I talked Dr Sara through my issues with grinding my teeth and she recommended some solutions, took an X-ray and fit me for a night guard, during all of which she made feel totally comfortable. Would definitely recommend the practice and Dr Sara in particular.

Fantastic experience: Great Dentist Surgery. Helpful in finding you an appointment and they take on NHS patients (makes sense for me to be on NHS as I rarely need any work done). I trust the dentists there and their advice. All the staff, both at reception and the dentists are really friendly.

Fantastic experience: We have been attending Streatham Dental Care as a family for several years and have been consistently very pleased with all aspects of the care we have received - hygienist, routine dental, as well as urgent provision. All the staff go above and beyond to make every visit a positive experience. They are friendly, professional and patient focused. In addition, we have experience of orthodontic treatment here and the results are absolutely first class for which we are ever so grateful to doctor Viyona Patel and to everyone at the practice.

Negative experience: Disappointing. Unfortunately, what didn’t feel right was reception saying that they cannot see you as a NHS patient here (because of an apparently long waiting list). BUT, that they’d be happy to treat you privately in the same afternoon. I'm afraid that didn't sit right. You're not the first dentist to channel patients into the private sector and yes, desperate patients will pay, when forced over a barrel. You certainly feel discriminated and fobbed off, like you’re a problem and almost cornered – seeing the same dentist who was initially too busy (for NHS people) but who is now freely available for private ones. When you brand a NHS logo, remember some people genuinely can’t afford a dentist and are made to suffer the consequence of that, out of what seems a power trip. I also saw this when a lady came into your waiting room with the exact same query and response and equal confusion. The business of dentistry felt slimy sorry to say. But, of course it is 5* reviews when you’ve paid hundreds of pounds – and you need to justify your expenses. You do that in all walks of life, either out of embarrassment or lack of reflection. Even in an expensive restaurant with mediocre food. The dentist’s appointment was functional and transactional – it lacked support or desire to treat me with decent pain relief or cover me with antibiotics which was at odds with their diagnosis and a payment already of above £100. I have to mention that I didn’t like being coerced by the dentist to see their “friends” in a fancy central London clinic either, when my oral health is quite good. Again, if you clear up your blurred messaging it will help you avoid other members of public from raising their ears and opening their eyes.

A place I may keep visiting for regular check and teeth cleaning. Do book an appointment as soon as possible whenever you think you or your family members may need it as you may need to wait for a few weeks.

I have been seen by different dentists in the past for various dental treatments, but Dr Patel is by far the best in his field. For someone who has anxiety, it is already nerve racking going to the dentist, but whenever I have an appointment with Dr Patel I feel reassured as he always explains the treatment process beforehand and also during the treatment which makes me feel more relaxed and comfortable. Dr Patel works with exceptional professionalism and excellent understanding. The staff at Streatham Dental Care are also very friendly and always ready to help in the best possible way. Dr Patel was great with our kids - he was reassuring and empathetic - and they actually really enjoyed the day out to the dentist!
