Fantastic experience: I had my root canal done by Tala, and my crown by Tayebeh. The treatment from start to finish was relaxed but professional, I would not go anywhere else for my teeth. I went to Tala because of her amazing reputation, and Tayebeh did an excellent job with my crown too. I will be coming here for my regular checkup and hygiene appointments in the future too, already booked them online!

Fantastic experience: To add to my first review (from eight years ago): I recently moved back to the area and was relieved not just that I could come back to the practice, but that Dr Schmidt’s approach was as warm, compassionate and good-humoured as before. I’ve never truly been able to shake the nerves around dental appointments but within seconds of being asked to sit I know there’s nothing to be scared of. Very thankful to have him as a dentist again. I am very glad I registered here. Dr. Schmidt’s approach was very warm, attentive and enthusiastic, from making jokes in the surgery to shaking my hand at the end. I found myself using the word ‘great’ when people asked me how it went afterwards, and I feel far less nervous about the next check-up.

Positive experience: This shop no longer sell Makari product but using makari to market other products. I was there yesterday 20/08/2025 and she told me that makari is banned in the uk. I hope it is removed from google ASAP to avoid misleading people

Fantastic experience: I have attended this dentist for 3 years. Dr Schmidt is kind and understanding and has completely changed my perspective on going to the dentist. The rest of the staff here are great as well. Previously I only went when absolutely necessary, but now I go once every 6 months. I cannot recommend SQDP enough. It is a small practice and does get busy, but they will always try to help when they can.

They know what they're talking about and always ensure you have a pleasant and valuable experience. No one likes going to the dentist but SQDP always makes you know you're in safe hands.

Negative experience: Call today because I needed an emergency appointment never used the service before but was denied service because they don’t take on NHS patients, however I never stated I was a NHS patient. I stated I needed an appointment because my tooth broke at the weekend I guess they’re busy enough and don’t actually need any more people to use their service regardless of whether they’re willing to pay their own money or not.

Fantastic experience: I had my first appointment with Dr Triman today for a check and hygiene and polishing. I have to say he is very professional, very high quality service. I found the practice itself very nice, unfortunately the reception area is quite tiny. The receptionist is lovely too, everyone polite and professional. That’s what I want. Already booked my next appointment.

Negative experience: The receptionist has no manners and hang up on me when I asked her name. I will absolutely not register with them and advise they tame the beast at reception before she learns to respect others the unfortunate way.

Fantastic experience: Had to have extraction today after an infection a few weeks ago. Dr Triman was excellent and after a few nerves he put me at ease and I didn’t feel a thing! I’ve always had positive experiences at the surgery (who likes going to the dentist!)

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience recently for a check up and hygiene appointment with Alison Hardy at the Surrey Quays Dental Practice. She was very professional and thorough. She took the time to explain everything to me and answer all of my questions. I was very impressed with her thoroughness and attention to detail. I would definitely recommend Alison to anyone looking for a great dentist in the area.

Fantastic experience: Been a patient at SQDP for a while now and always pleased with the service I receive. The receptionists are helpful and friendly. I was seen recently by Dr Triman for a crown and was pleased with the care I received - he explained everything clearly, outlined all the options and was accommodating when my temporary crown became dislodged by my aligners - I was seen within 2 hours. Appointments generally run on time and I can get through to someone on the phone 80% of the time. If not, I just email instead and receive replies back in good time. Thanks to the team at SQDP!

Fantastic experience: I cannot sing enough praises about Dr. Schmidt and the team at SQDP. In fact, I fear that this review would sound too cliché because I concur with what most of the 5-star comments here and about to say the same. When Dr. Schmidt took over from his predecessor a decade or so ago (by then I have received dental treatment at this same surgery for 15 years) I was slightly apprehensive. However, I was immediately put at ease from the first 10 seconds of meeting him. Since then Dr. Schmidt and his team have helped me through several dental crises that could affect me professionally. I appreciate their empathy and willingness to help from the instant I come through the door (or when the call is connected). All the treatment plans are thoroughly communicated and explained, and there is never anything unnecessary. More importantly, as I can speak from experience, Dr. Schmidt has solved a number of awkward and challenging problems for my husband and me, with excellent results and minimal discomfort. I can say I am immensely grateful for their help, and count myself very lucky to be looked after by SQDP.

Fantastic experience: Honestly ..I cannot rate this practice and my dentist Matthias Schmidt enough. This is such a wonderful practice and Matthias is such a wonderful dentist . He is so professional and kind and for anyone who is ever scared of dentists or putting it off ..I highly recommend SQDP . I had to get teeth out and dentures fitted and it was such an easy process with such professional dentists .

Negative experience: I was very much looking forward to seeing if I could register myself and daughter but have now changed my mind. I contacted the dental practice by email prior and had not yet received a response. I went into the practice today to enquire and after waiting a few minutes receptionist asked if we were there for an appointment, I said no and she asked us to take a seat. I sat patiently waiting and after other patients were seen, (a patient that came to reception after us) she continued to not acknowledge us which led to us leaving. I found this to be very rude! The worst customer service I have encounter in all my 40years of visiting a dental practice.

Negative experience: I am one of the barber in Surrey quays, use to work in lower road, my tooth was and still is in a bad state ,they recommend Dr schmidtt so I start to go to his dental practice ,he did few filling for me I was very happy with his work and professionalism I did asked him if he can do the cleaning and remove the cigarette stains on my tooth he said yes I can do it so I went back to him for that , he did amazing job I was very impressed and happy , 3 months ago I wanted to do more cleaning and whitening I called his dental practice ,I did speak to his receptionist and explained that I want to do cleaning and hygiene ,she made appointment for me with Dr schmidtt which I ask for ,I waited almost 3 months for that appointment in my appointment day I went to the reception and I said to the lady I have got appointment with Dr schmidtt at 2 20 few minutes after Dr schmidtt come up to see me and said we have our professional hygiene so go to her ,I refuse because 3 months ago the receptionist never explained to me that Dr schmidtt does not do the hygiene anymore, any way I explained to Dr schmidtt that I have waited 3 months and I traveld 2 hours to get here ,he said OK I will do it but I could tell straight away that he's not happy to do it , he spend 10 minutes on my tooth in and out I was surprised when he said he is finished and all done ,he just wanted to get rid of me as quickly as possible, the hygiene price is 89 pound he charged me 165 pounds, in my opinion Dr schmidtt should keep his professionalism and do his work right and not charge me dabble for something that was not my fault in the first place ,I was not expecting that from Dr schmidtt ,I won't go back there anymore

My previous dentist was awful and had messed up a crown fitting but when I saw him he explained everything so clearly and made sure I was comfortable with the treatment I was getting. Negative experience: This dental care is a scam, I had an appointment on Saturday 8th of June, first my doctor was about 30 minutes, having been told from my dental cleaning session to see a doctor who would have recommended me to NHS. But when I met the doctor, it was completely the opposites, all he wanted is remove my teeth, I had problem with one tooth, but he was targeting more teeth, telling me I have a gum disease but not to use gum treatment, not to use mouthwash, he only wanted to get rich of me. Don't go to this dental care if you want to have a good treatment.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend this practise enough especially to anyone who has a fear of the dentist. I came before for a filling and was in an absolute state of panic but everyone was so so nice. I came back today to get a second filling and again everyone was so incredibly friendly. I had an earphone in and a squishy toy ( I’m 26 and there was no judgement for any people reading this who have a fear of being judged about things like this). Stacy and her assistant were so amazing and kept reassuring and chatting to me, encouraging me to do whatever I needed to do to remain calm. An extra special shoutout to the amazing receptionist team, 1 lady in particular I can’t remember her name, but she has been speaking to me on the phone and in person for month and is always so so reassuring and nice and kind. I can’t thank the whole team enough for helping me get my treatment and get over my fear. I even got a sticker for not crying this time Thank you all.

Fantastic experience: A great dental practice with friendly and informative staff. When I needed to change my appointment date, they were helpful and found a new time.

Fantastic experience: My crown dislodged overnight so I was in a bit of a panic but the brilliant out of hours answering machine message instructions for out of hours and the straightforward direction to send an email meant I'm already at the practice and all should be resolved as an emergency. Fab service and a lifesaver on a bank holiday weekend! Amazing team especially in these times when demand outstrips supply!

Negative experience: I went there after looking at the good reviews for the practice. It was a normal visit in which the dentist is supposed to do a general check up and a simple scaling and polishing. The dentist/ Dr Gordon Lai didn't do a normal/NHS scaling and polishing at all, and most UNETHICALLY he ticked that he did "scaling and polishing" on my prescription. When I protested and told the dentist that he should do a normal scaIing and polishing as I am seeing a dentist after a long time, still he didn't do that saying that I would need to book it at an extra cost. I feel such a let down. In total he gave me 7 minutes of his time, out of which around 5 minutes was spent in x rays etc. and was quickly ushered out. All other dentists I have visited in the past has done a simple NHS scaling and polishing even without asking. But this dentist wanted me to book a separate "scaling and polishing" session for an extra cost, the one he should have really done, and which he unethically ticked on the prescription that he did without even doing it. Waste of my money. I will NOT RECOMMEND this dentist/ Dr Gordon Lai based on my experience.

Kieran is the perfect receptionist you have, very helpful, caring and professional. She helps me manage all the worries I have in my booking, invoicing and satisfaction of my care here. Big thanks. Rachel is efficient and polite in sorting out my documentation needs and invoicing. Dr Gordon Lai is superb. He is excellent in his work and explanation, guiding me through with great communication and care towards my painful teeth. He is very respectful towards my limits and tolerance level. Thanks to him, at least I feel less fearful and more confident towards my upcoming appointments. Fantastic experience: Surrey Quays Dental Practice came highly recommended to me and I've been pleased to attend them for a number of years now. The team is very professional, the clinic is excellent, and most importantly the treatment I've received with Dr. Matthias Schmidt has been exceptional, I couldn't recommend enough.

Negative experience: So far it's been a bad experience. I waited an HOUR to be seen by my dentist who then proceeded to tell me I need a root canal and the wait time is a year. I made it clear I can't sleep nor eat due to the pain and was told to take ibuprofen indefinitely and if anything get my filling cleaned out....what type of service is this? Have gone to another clinic for a second opinion but in the mean time am stuck at home for at least another 2 weeks without being able to eat solid food or sleep through the night as they are also busy. Can't believe it honestly am shocked.

Fantastic experience: Nine months ago, I underwent a filling procedure @ SQDP. The dentist communicated with me every step of the way, making me feel comfortable and informed throughout the process. Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at SQDP for a couple of years. It’s a really great, friendly small practice that provides excellent patient care and dentistry. I particularly like how the options are always clearly explained, and procedures are carried out with care, putting you at ease, and checking in with you constantly. My dentist, Dr Schmidt, is brilliant! Would highly recommend, especially to those, like myself, that don’t particularly enjoy going to the dentist!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a patient at The Surrey Quays Dentist Practice for four years and have always been satisfied. Dr Schmidt is incredibly friendly and explains his treatments thoroughly. It’s a very nice atmosphere at the practice and it is easily reachable from Surrey Quays overground station or by bike from Central London. Dr Schmidt is bilingual English/German and therefore also able to treat German visitors who might prefer to see a German-speaking dentist.

Fantastic experience: I am really scared of the dentist and until I started coming to this dentist I always made excuses to cancel appointments but although I am still scared he really does give you encouragement from the minute you step in to the room until you leave and all the staff are very nice

Negative experience: Hi, This place was genuinely good when I originally signed up, no issues amazing dentist. Now I can't even make a appointment. I've been trying to call all day with over 6 calls. Only two calls were answered and I was put on hold. I had a lady state that "She is not at the desk and I need to wait" and put me back on hold which souded like a blatant lie. I've never had this bad treatment from here and I'm shocked that the service here has changed so much since my last appointment. I recommend the dentist is good here but getting to him is the problem now! If you want to have a quicker service, find somewhere else. Bare in mind, I'm not a NHS patient, I'm a private patient treated like this.

Fantastic experience: I’ve just come to the end of my orthocaps treatment with Dr Schmidt. I’ve had an extremely positive experience from start to finish - Dr Schmidt was brilliant at explaining the process and demonstrated perfectionism in his dental skills (filing the teeth to create space and attaching the hook fittings). I’m over the moon with my results and would highly recommend Dr Schmidt to anyone looking into orthocaps.

I have recently been struggling with a great deal of pain He could easily have taken my initially desired route which was to take the tooth out, but he absolutely tried everything to rescue the tooth and succeeded, and now all is well, and I couldn’t be happier. Very good with kids, taking things at their pace and not pushing them til they are ready to sit. Really great at desensitising kids to the dentist’s chair. Whole team very friendly. Fantastic experience: Today I had my first appointment with Dr. Kaval Rekhi at the dentist's office, and I must say it was a truly positive experience. I highly recommend her as a skilled and compassionate dentist who goes above and beyond for her patients. As someone who tends to feel anxious about dental visits, her warm and friendly energy made all the difference. During the examination, I talked to Dr. Rekhi about a small crack in one of my teeth, which I had clumsily caused earlier. She kindly offered to fix it right then and she did it free of charge. She also took the time to explain each step of the future dental care I will need, ensuring I felt comfortable and informed throughout. Overall, my first appointment with Dr. Rekhi exceeded all expectations and I highly recommend her.

Negative experience: Went for a dental check up and was told my teeth were fine. In reality, I needed two fillings and surgery. Just an awful experience and a waste of money.

The surgery continues to provide outstanding service, with pleasant staff who put patients at ease. The practice is small, but always clean and well maintained. Reception have great communication and both the receptionist and Dr Schmidt will always go the extra mile for their patients. I've moved out of area and still travel to this practice and would never consider changing! Dr Schmidt is the best dentist I have had the pleasure of meeting. He works incredibly hard but always takes time for his patients, no matter how busy he is. He has a wonderful manner with great energy, which puts you at ease as soon as you meet him. He explains everything very well, step-by-step, and makes sure to check during treatment that you're comfortable and not in any pain. The team at SQDP make it so that I almost look forward to going to the dentist!

Negative experience: If you’re looking for low quality all around, a joke of a doctor whose level of maturity is that of a 12-year-old — this is the place to be. Anyone’s better off looking for another dentist, whatever the circumstances.

I used part NHS service as well as part Private service and it was simply fantastic. A huge shout-out to Dr. Schmidt. He was so friendly (and funny) that I felt immediately comfortable and welcome. Receptionists are offer an appointment and then change the date and time without a patient knowledge ( it’s happened to me and my son ) Very dirty place , one of the dentist an indian woman is absolutely out of control towards patient, she’s stressing patients and she’s very unfriendly and miserable person AVOID THIS PLACE !!!

Were extremely helpful in discussing all of the options with me and also make sure that I understood. Mum was also very pleased as well and told me the same. I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: As someone who has a genuine phobia of the dentist, I'm always sceptical of reviews that claim a place is for nervous patients but this surgery truly is. I started my root canal treatment with Dr Rekhi before she went on maternity leave (who was lovely and calming) and it was completed by Dr Schmidt (who is very reassuring and talks you through what he’s doing at every stage). Also, Tanya on reception has been great each step of the way and very helpful. I honestly can’t recommend them enough, the fact that I actually turned up to every appointment says it all (those who understand will know what I mean!).

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at this practice for a few years now and Dr. Schmidt is the best, he always explains in detail what he is going to do and why and he and the rest of the team are very welcoming and always make you feel comfortable, especially when you’re a little bit anxious. Had to have a couple fillings replaced today and even though it’s certainly not a pleasant experience generally speaking it was absolutely fine and the treatment and care I received great as always. Fantastic experience: I haven’t been to this particular practice but I was treated by Dr Matthias Schmidt in Norfolk and want to review him personally. He is hands down the best dentist I’ve ever seen (and I’ve seen several over the years). I was post natal and Dr Matthias Schmidt was incredibly calming, patient and informative. I am not afraid to say I was devastated when he left Norfolk to pursue his career in London, though wished him every success. He really is born for dentistry and his patient care I found second to none. Especially following what i then experienced.. Unfortunately, his successor in the Norfolk practice butchered Matthias’s exceptional work on my teeth (specifically my crown) and I suffered severely, causing me to develop a complete phobia. I had to find and go to another completely different private dentist at the time to fix the damage the successor had done and I haven’t been near a dentist since. Dr Matthias Schmidt would be THE only dentist I let anywhere near my teeth ever again, unless it’s urgent then they’ll have to anaesthetise me in a hospital! ..which I fear is coming as I know I have problems again but I am just too scared after what I went through with the Matthias’ replacement. This practice and it’s patients are very fortunate to have such a skilled, knowledgeable, kind and patient dentist in Dr Matthias Schmidt.

Fantastic experience: CHOSE THIS PRACTICE! I came here years ago as a child, but stopped as I moved away. Since then, and returning fairly local, I’ve been to a few dental practices that, well, were only focused on money, squeeze in as many patients as possible, do a quick fix. I came back to SQDP, anxious as to whether it would still have the same level of care as I had experience previously. I am pleased to say it really does. I would describe it as an old school dentist, in the sense that they really put patients first – excellent care and service at the forefront. During the pandemic I had a few issues, and was always booked in. I mean, Dr Schmidt even booked me in during his lunch break on an occasion – I mean, that there is excellent patient care. Since the pandemic, I’ve been back, been treated, had check ups. Even my first root canal – no issues. Always looked after. It’s a brilliant practice . They know their patients, they educate you about your treatment, and ensure you fully understand the treatment options, implications, and that you are happy with this. I highly recommend this dentist. Even if you have to jump on a bus to get there, its worth it for the care that you receive. I for one, will not go anywhere else. Complete trust in the care I receive here.
