Fantastic experience: Today was my first visit to St Stephen’s Dental Practice and I was seen by Mikey. It was the most thorough and professional check up I have ever received. He demonstrated great knowledge and kindness. I am thrilled to have found such a great dentist. Many thanks Mikey!

Fantastic experience: I had always felt anxious about going to the dentist from poor previous experiences, but this dental practice has been such a delight for the past 10 years that I've been going. My dentist, Tom, is very empathetic, kind and knowledgeable. The receptionists are friendly and lovely to talk to. The practice is clean and uses modern equipment.

Fantastic experience: I am a chicken. I hate visiting the Dentist. I was recommended to Tom, and I am so pleased that I took the advice that I was given.. I received the first treatment yesterday and I can honestly say that I did not feel a thing. I even found myself relaxing and closing my eyes. This is unheard of.... I'm usually griping the arms of the chair and forgetting to breathe. Tom - Thankyou to you and your team for looking after me. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this practice.

Negative experience: Terrible dentist! Went for a new patient checkup up which is £58 with dentist Meena. Realised I was charged £84. Rang to see what the extra charge was for & was told it was for the x-rays either side at £13 each. I said I didn’t ask for them they were just done. Was told that they have to be done with new patients. I said this should be included with the check up price if necessary or at least I should be told. No sympathy or anything was given. I’m a student who only gets student loan & especially at Christmas the hidden extra charges was not needed. Won’t be going back

Fantastic experience: 10/10 – 100% Highly Recommend! Tom is honestly the best dentist I've been to. From the very beginning, he was patient, kind and professional, and thanks to him, I'm not embarrassed by my teeth anymore. I’ve always been anxious about going to the dentist, but Tom changed that. I had a broken crown and some noticeable marks on my front teeth that made me feel self-conscious. (My old dentist told me I’d need a false tooth, not ideal at 35!) Tom looked and said he could put on a new crown and clean up my teeth. He took the time to explain everything in detail, answering all my questions and making sure I understood everything. In a world where many doctors and dentists seem eager to get you in and out, Tom was the complete opposite, he took his time and I didn't feel rushed. Now, not only am I more confident with my teeth, I'm also far less anxious about future appointments. Thank you, Tom, for your exceptional care and to the awesome nurses and reception staff. I highly recommend Tom to anyone in need of a kind and skilled dentist.

Negative experience: It a shame that I am in the same predicament since January of this year but worse and nothing was fixed! I was correct in saying then and definitely now that since the deep cleans my teeth have moved all over the place and overlapping and were straighter before I visited !!!!!! I was just left with the gum where the tooth had been extracted still not healing properly after stitching without any referral or given advise as to who could resurrect the issue which obviously wasn’t Tom, plus added gum disease all across my gums which I never had even if I didn’t clean my teeth for a day! Now they irritate me constantly - Tom kept insisting the the gum niggled like I wanted to scratch the itch right? Well, no it is sore and painful nothing like a niggle!! To top it all off the gum disease after going to many appointments over the last 2yrs has spread to every tooth since my last visit . Yes, my teeth when I first visited your practice WERE a lot better and a lot more comfortable - after the abscess I should have left that tooth in and never gone to a dentist as I was not in any pain as I am now with ALL my gums and all my teeth since the deep cleans and tooth extraction- deep cleans just recede my gums!!!!! My bottom teeth felt smooth in between before the deep clean they are now all rough and feel horrid and gum disease everywhere - I guess I can thank dentists when I die of Alzheimer’s!!

Fantastic experience: Nightmare! I broke a tooth but it hadn’t actually fallen out. Was going on holiday the next day. Couldn’t eat etc and was worried I would have to visit a dentist in Greece! Receptionist was very helpful and said there was a small slot in which Tom could do something temporary. The receptionist rang again later on and said there had been a cancellation. I jumped at that. I arrived 10 minutes early and Tom called me in straight away. He managed to actually take the broken piece out and fill it. Had an injection, no pain, brilliant job, very gentle,quick and efficient all done in 20 minutes.Would thoroughly recommend this practice and helpful receptionists. I can now enjoy my holiday!

Fantastic experience: To best dentist I ever been too. Tom 100% recommend as can be fully trusted unlike Dover Priory Dental Surgery. Tom professionally cleaned my teeth the best result I ever had. Didn't need any treatment but gave me advice and tips on improving my daily routine, as plaque was showing. Fantastic experience: I have been going to St Stephens Dental Practice for some years now, Tom and the team always make me feel cared for and give me honest advice and options for treatment when needed. After some quite bad experiences I am so glad that I found this lovely dental practice, they have made me feel confident to visit the dentist.

Fantastic experience: Best dentist ever. I had a numbing sensation on my lower jaw. The doctor ordered an xray and marked as urgent. So we got the report by the next day. he then immediately referred me to a NHS specialist. They found a large cyst and it was removed. This was all during the pandemic. Thanks to the Dentist's speedy action, i was saved form serious nerve damage.

Negative experience: Friendly staff but terrible availability. If you are lucky you can make an appointment two months from now. That appointment will only get you in the chair for five minutes. If any work needs to be done you are welcome to come back two months later.

Im a uni student so not a canterbury local but I had an infected wisdom tooth come up early October 2021 and this was the only dentist that could see me on that day. Am so glad that I found this place and have been going here ever since. Tom is the kindest and most gentle dentist I’ve ever seen. First time I went I was in absolute agony and my jaw was barely able to open due to the swelling and pain, but Tom was so careful and didn’t force my jaw open which other dentists have done before. Every member of staff i’ve encountered have been absolutely wonderful and so friendly. Can get appointments pretty much always on the same day as calling or within the next few following days. Such a lovely little dentist and I will be sad to leave when I return home after uni Thank you all at St. Stephens for making this nervous dental patient genuinely enjoy coming to see you.

Fantastic experience: This practice is exceptional. I highly recommend Tom Buckland who fixed a broken front tooth of mine which occurred during an accident a couple of years ago. Prior to the appointment I was very apprehensive about how it could be fixed and what it might cost. Tom was immediately reassuring, the result was such great value and it was a seamless repair. Recently through looking at old photos and using my mouth guard I noticed the tooth wasn't exactly the same length as before the accident. I doubt anyone else would notice ever but I have very low self-esteem about my appearance and wasn't in a good place generally. This was stressing me out a lot. I returned to Tom for advice and again he was so reassuring and understood my concerns. He fixed my tooth further, they fitted me in super quickly, and I am so happy with the result! I trust this practice and am really grateful for their advice, honesty, generosity and kindness in approach. Thank you :)

Fantastic experience: I've been with this practice a long time and they are excellent. Friendly efficient staff, modern well equiped treatment room. Their response to the covid-19 problem is exemplary - the waiting room was very clean, uncluttered, and free of the usual magazines (as appropriate these days) but also empty of people, such was the precision of their patient scheduling. Next visit: routine checkup. Quick, efficient, charge reasonable.

The dental practice is small but efficient and has good social distancing measures, and even an old dental chair in the waiting room. Negative experience: My friend went here a couple weeks ago and received a horrible service and left with a scratched tooth after a laughably short appointment with a very curt and rude dentist. He was meant to get a check up which amounted to a quick teeth counting and front teeth scratching. Now he has a noticeable scratch in his front tooth that he needs to pay more money to get fixed. I was going to make a check up appointment here too but after this and the rude receptionist I will be going elsewhere. I would give 0 stars if that were an option.

Fantastic experience: Having been scared of the dentist for years, I can safety say that I have completely over come my fear by seeing Martin. He’s patient, extremely thorough and very gentle. Throughout the whole process he explained what he was doing and reassured me that he would stop at anytime if I needed him too! I never thought I’d get to a stage where I wasn’t nervous about going to the dentist!

Negative experience: Worst experience at a dentist I have ever received, really disappointed as I chose to go to this dental practise after looking at the positive reviews. My appointment lasted less than 10 minutes! I got the student discount price package which includes 'exam, Xrays and scale and polish'. The dentist, Martin literally only scaled and polished four of my teeth, and he did this in a very rushed manner, not checking if it hurt (which it did). He did not provide any information on the state of my teeth or any advice on how to take care of them, he did not really address or give any helpful feedback on why my gums were itching/ bleeding and what I could do to ease this discomfort. When I got home and checked the mirror, I observed a lot of tartar and plaque, my teeth were not cleaned. I called them the next day to try sort this out but I was curtly informed, this is what to expect from their student special pricing. I am annoyed as I was not made aware of this prior to my booking, had I know I would be getting 1/5 the service advertised I would not have selected the 'student deal' - not that I would call paying £40 for 10minutes of rushed service a 'deal'.

After calling many dental practices trying to see a dentist that day without success I was relieved to speak to the friendly and empathetic receptionist who said that they could see me that day at 5:30. Friendly, efficient and professional, they repaired my front tooth and allowed me to continue my trip with a smile on my face. (-:

Fantastic experience: The staff were approachable, friendly and enthusiastic. Especially my dentist, Karen, who made me feel very at ease and comfortable. The place itself is very clean, but doesn't look too 'clinical', which, in my opinion, helped me feel much less anxious. All in all a very good experience.

Fantastic experience: Mijn zoon van 3 was gevallen met zijn fiets en had een loszittende tand. De tandarts heeft hem vakkundig afgeleid, onderzocht en zn tand verwijderd (hij was afgebroken). Top werk!
