Fantastic experience: Having not been to the dentist for years, because of 'dentist anxieties', I decided to try Savings Smiles in Weedon to sort out my mouth when I moved to the area. After several months I have just finished my course of treatments, which could've been done in fewer visits, but Haaris was considerate of my 'anxiety' from day 1 and allowed me to set the pace. I must also give a shout out to Nicola on reception, who always has a welcoming smile, is friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Saving Smiles Weedon since 2019, and have had multiple treatments with them over the years. I just visited the other day and felt I HAD to leave a review. They have always been SO welcoming, friendly, professional and most importantly-- completed every treatment to a high standard. I used to be a very anxious patient, and have had terrible experiences with other dentists in the past, but after finding a practice like this, I can honestly say my dentist-anxiety has been cured! So if you're checking reviews deciding which practice to sign-up with, Saving Smiles will get my recommendation every time. They are brilliant.

Negative experience: Probably the worst dentist I’ve ever been to - needed retainers for holiday as mine cracked. Firstly on the way to the appointment I called to mention being late as a good gesture as I was stuck dropping my boyfriend to work in school traffic and the lady on reception couldn’t have been more rude. Traffic can’t be helped, I can’t fly and get out of school traffic unfortunately. I arrived after racing to the appointment and my retainers for 1. are just not great quality compared to where I’ve had my retainers done previously which is not this dentist and 2. they were so jammed in my mouth my gum started bleeding and the dentist was then grazing them down with a tool but for £175 I wasn’t inclined to take it back with me. Picked my retainers up again after my holiday and yeah, they’re fine but getting told off for being late AGAIN which is rich really when I’m waiting 25 mins in the waiting room for an appointment to pick retainers up and being told that “they didn’t think I was coming back” when actually I didn’t want to go back or pay x2 £175 for retainers that look like they could just snap. Not to mention the scanner didn’t even scan my back teeth because they were having trouble with it so just left it. This dentist has just given the worst customer service I’ve experienced and actually PTSD I’d consider. Very overpriced and to be honest disappointing customer service - don’t think I’ve ever cried at a dentist and then no accountability taken from anyone or apologies - very weird! Receptionists were also speaking behind my back saying I was 6 minutes late - expect more from adults especially for the price paid also! Don’t even bother calling if you’re running late because they don’t even appreciate the effort.

Fantastic experience: I have had the pleasure of referring my patients to Dr Vivak Shah and his team for extractions and implant procedures for a few years now, and the experience has been consistently excellent. Dr. Vivak combines outstanding clinical skill with a caring and compassionate approach that truly puts patients at ease. Every patient I’ve referred has spoken highly of the comfortable environment, clear communication, and exceptional level of care they received. Dr Vivak's attention to detail, surgical precision, and commitment to long-term outcomes are evident in the results and his treatment planning. From straightforward extractions to complex implant cases, I have complete confidence in Dr Vivak and his team. It’s reassuring to know my patients are in such capable hands. I highly recommend Dr Vivak to anyone seeking high-quality surgical dental care.

Fantastic experience: I had an implant done by the team at Saving Smiles and they were exceptional. The reception staff are so friendly and accommodating, which is quite unusual these days, particularly at a health centre! Dr Shah is absolutely wonderful, clearly very skilled at what he does, and extremely approachable regarding the process and everything that's happening. His Dental Nurse is also wonderful, asking about my holiday plans and my dog whilst the treatment gets tricky, and always checking if I'm ok. Well worth the money, and don't even dread the dentist now, thanks again to everyone there!

Fantastic experience: My 1st visit to the practice and I am very impressed. A very quiet and calm reception/waiting area and all the staff are friendly and professional. The nurse and dentist put me at ease straight away. A slight downside is that unfortunately, the phone signal is non existent in reception/waiting area and although there is wi-fi on the premises they do not allow the public to use it, which is a shame.

I have been going to this dentist since before my children were born ( at least 34 years) and although there has been several changes of dentist they have always been good. The one we have - who seems to have been there many years now - is very kind and helpful. She always explains all that she is doing and answers my questions honestly. From the moment I walked in everyone was amazing. Friendly, helpful, positive and welcoming. I was very tearful, a little afraid of what my dentist would find, Dr Shah was wonderful, really put me at ease and put my trust back in dentists. Wanting to correct my smile and give me confidence he then put me in the very capable hands of Sarah Canavan, who over the course of 12-15 months has done an incredible job of straightening my teeth, with much humour included. Fantastic experience: I'm seeing Sarah to straighten my teeth, while I had a brace 30 years ago aging had meant my teeth had started to twist and it was causing chips and issues. After experiences at previous dentist surgeries along with the memories of my teen brace fitting being quite painful, I was quite anxious about what to do. Sarah was honest about the options and provided clear images and guidance so I could make a decision and there was no hard sales pitch, when I had a few questions she answered them quickly and I opted for a fixed brace rather than Invisalign and the costs were really reasonable. She instantly puts you at ease in the chair and I've not experienced any pain during the fitting or the changes of brackets etc. Ellie the dental nurse working with her is also brilliant and I can genuinely say I don't fear going to the dentist now! My teeth are in the final stages of being straightened with just one stubborn one left to align but it's clear Sarah is a perfectionist working with you to check you are happy with the result and I'm excited to finally have straight teeth again! I know my two children are likely to need braces as well and they have come with me to a few check ups and they already feel quite relaxed about the idea having seen how easy and calm it can be...I will definitely use her for my children if I can and recommend her to anyone needing some work but unsure quite what to do.

Negative experience: I have actually waited 10 years to write this review with good reason! Please read on to understand. I consulted this practice over An ‘odd’ feeling in a tooth. I was seen by a lady who told me it needed filling. The pain was indescribable, clearly the decay was deep and I needed a nerve block, one was not offered despite my asking. When my mouth had settled the original sensation was still there accompanied by rough edges and an obvious hole. Returned and saw the senior dentist who told me the tooth could not be saved, a root canal would not work and the tooth would not take a crown - it would have to come out. I decided to consult a private dentist (who I still see) who confirmed the tooth was a prime candidate for root canal and crown. Ten years on and no problems. The reason I waited 10 years? Clearly I wanted to be sure of the success of the procedure but moreover the original issue was at the time of my father in laws 90 birthday and we have just celebrated his 100th so this seems right in many ways.

The smiling receptionist's that greeted me and made me feel very special and at ease from the moment I walked in the door. The whole practice is immaculately clean and modern with a lovely waiting area where you can see the whole team in pictures on the wall. Sarah Canavan and her nurse Ellie where amazing and understood my anxiety and were so calming. Sarah explained everything in great detail and gave me many different options for the treatment I required and she did it in a way that was very easy for me to understand. There was no hard sales of treatment, it was all to be my decision from the information she gave me. I was given a detailed print out treatment plan with all costings and options to decide from which really helped as I forget things when I am anxious. On my subsequent visit for treatment, again Sarah and her nurse Ellie were so supportive throughout my treatment. Thank you both for being so amazing and understanding! Negative experience: I had some work done here in February and April 2024 consisting of a clean, filling and some bonding to fix two wonky teeth. I wish I’d hadn’t bothered. The filling was done badly, causing sensitivity, even 7 months later, leaving me unable to eat hard foods on the tooth. The composite work, although aesthetically pleasing, left me in agony leading to gum inflammation and an infection. I returned twice to have the work adjusted, being told each time that it will settle and even being made to pay for a second clean. The work was never right, the second clean was a token effort for less than a minute and I left with the feeling I had been lied to and fobbed off. The last straw was not receiving any correspondence or call back after leaving a 2 messages on their answering service to try and obtain further review, as I was still in pain and my gums were bleeding. Having lost all confidence in ‘Saving Smiles’ I decided 7 months later to seek another dentist to have the unsatisfactory work checked and rectified. The new dentist was shocked at the work done and said it went against dental guidelines as multiple teeth had been bonded together and the bonding was sitting over my gum line. They commented that it looked like it had been years since I had the teeth cleaned by a dentist, despite having them supposedly cleaned on my last visit! The composite bonding was removed to find infected gums that were so bad there was black dead tissue that had to be cut away. The two teeth and gums had been so damaged by the work done that they had to be extracted and replaced with a bridge. The corrective treatment has cost over £4000. I am now in the process of considering legal action, along with raising this issue with the GDC. I wouldn’t recommend this dentist at all.

Very occasional replacement of old fillings, no new fillings, no unneccessary work and no hard sell. Friendly and professional team. Just what you want from your dentist - and he's a nice chap too!!

Fantastic experience: Had a root canal done yesterday , when I told anyone they would pull a face of horror , as it’s not nice to get done , although it’s over an hour to sit in the chair , it wasn’t that bad , my dentist Andy Mcsweeney was great , fully explained everything through the process , And his knowledge of root canals is top banana , wasn’t looking forward to it , But he reassured me , and I felt no pain , And today I’m fine , no discomfort , And all done , I would recommend Andy to anyone who has to have a root canal , he knows his stuff on this , It’s not as bad as people tell you

Fantastic experience: I've been a patient with Saving Smiles (Weedon) for a number of years now and I am still really happy there. I can't say I have 'ever' had a bad experience, even with a changeover of dentists who come and go. The reception staff are helpful and friendly, the waiting area is comfortable, the general atmosphere is calm and relaxed. My Mum has a terrible phobia of dentists through bad experiences where (a) she was given root treatment without anaesthetic and (b) a dentist removed a tooth when it was completely unecessary and same dentist was incredibly rude to her. She refused to see a dentist after this - but I was able to get her into Saving Smiles privately and I cannot thank them enough - they were patient, kind, understanding and thorough and she is now able to resume regular dental checkups with/without treatment without fear. Thank you so much Saving Smiles (Weedon).

Fantastic experience: A week before my daughters wedding, disaster happend my front crown broke in half, as you can imagine I was panicking but I needn't of worried a call to the surgery and the receptionist was calming and so helpful booked me in the next morning, from then on the Dentist, Nurse and the Lab did everything they could to make a crown in a week where it normally takes two. All I can say is a massive thank you to you all, you certainly saved my smile!

Positive experience: Nice dentist but they make you wait a long time till they see you. In average I sit in waiting room for 18 minutes after the allocated appointment time till they call me in. However, If you are 5 minutes late the receptionist ensures you understand that they are unhappy. They never apologise for making you wait that long. They send you long forms and ask you questions that they already know such as your name and date of birth. Would be nice if they pre-filled them. Overall competent and nice dentists but the practice lacks customer service and lacks to understand how it feels to be treated like this.
