Fantastic experience: As a patient/client of Mapplewell Dental Centre since the year 2000 I’ve seen a fair few dentist/dental nurses/hygienists & reception staff during that time. I actually think some have been there since my very first appointment Anyway, everyone is super lovely & so friendly. Sometimes conversations carry on where they left off 6 months earlier when attending one’s next check up….feels like good friends! Everything is well organised from the booking system to having checkups/treatments to being kept informed. But a special mention must go to my dentist Dom that works there. I suffer with mega anxiety issues/panic attacks that started back in my early 20’s due to an unfortunate incident (not dental related I hasten to add but makes dental checkups & any treatments hard) When I broke a tooth a couple years back I saw Dom as an emergency as my regular dentist was moving on to pastures new. I was worried as he didn’t know me & then there was my anxiety to deal with too. The second I walked in & started to chat with Dom I could sense things would be totally different & that just maybe I would be able to cope with my issues because here was a dentist that understood, so easy to talk to & showed an immense amount of compassion for my situation. I’m in my sixties & have needed a bit of work from my teeth point of view but Dom always checks with me first how we can approach the treatment, what can I manage to tolerated & am I okay. Half the battle is won when it’s like this. I had treatment yesterday that in my head I didn’t think I would cope with but today I can say with Dom & his lovely assistant I did cope. This goes a long way in helping me in particular to think if & when I might need anymore I don’t need to lose a nights sleep fretting over it thinking will I cope! In January I enter my 26th year with Mapplewell Dental Centre. I think that in itself says a lot to anyone reading this.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful practice and wonderful staff from the reception team right through to every dentist, hygienist and dental nurse. I cannot fault anyone or anything. I am a nervous patient, but Shahbaz and Jill always make me feel at ease. They are patient with me and check in during my routine appointments and procedures to make sure I am okay. Going for appointments used to fill me with dread, but now I feel much more comfortable because the team have created an environment where I can truly relax… or at least as relaxed as anyone can be at the dentist haha!

Fantastic experience: This was my first time visit to Mapplewell Dental Centre and I required tooth extraction, complicated by a growing infection. I was cared for by Shahbaz Mohammed a very skilled and patient focused dentist. I was very impressed by his continued professionalism and overall focus of my comfort and levels of pain i was enduring, doing his absolute best to minimize it . I found the reception staff very friendly and well organized keeping me well informed by text and email, even giving me directions and parking available. Overall rating 5 star service. Many thanks.

Fantastic experience: I came to Mapplewell Dental Centre following unsatisfactory treatment from my NHS dentist. From the first contact to the end of my treatment, I have been treated very well by everyone; receptionists, nurses, hygienists and dentist alike. I can't recommend the practice enough. The dentist I have seen is Shahbaz Mohammed.

Fantastic experience: As a very anxious patient I was very nervous to go, but Dominic put me straight at ease. Explained every step and reassured me each visit. Have a long process to go but am sure I’ll be able to manage as all staff make me feel reassured and am confident in my dentist.

I’ve been going here since I was a child and I feel like I have good friends who are top class dentists (Emily), hygienists (Jill) and dental assistants - the receptionists are very nice too! Fantastic experience: As a new patient, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The front desk was organised and efficient, and I didn’t have to wait long at all. I saw both the hygienist and the dentist on two separate visits, and they were both outstanding. The hygienist was gentle, thorough, and took the time to explain everything she was doing, which I really appreciated. She made what is usually a nerve-wracking experience feel completely comfortable. The dentist was equally impressive. Very knowledgeable and patient. He took the time to answer all my questions. It was clear that the whole team genuinely cares about their patients and their well-being.

Fantastic experience: Ever so nervous about going to the dentist, why i put of for many years, but unfortunately my teeth really needed help lol. I needed a emergency appointment and got in quite quick. Been seen by the lovely Emily, she's a star and made me feel so comfortable and relaxed whilst having exam done, emily had done a treatment plan for me. Just recently had my 2 fillings done and I've never felt more at ease. Thank you Emily & team. Will definitely not be as nervous for the next 2. Following John’s retirement I became a patient of Amir, as Amir left for Australia I have just had my first check up appointment with Dominic. As a patient of this practice for a number of years I can say that my dental health has improved and this is in large part to the treatment and advice provided. I wouldn't trust my dental health with any other practice.

Fantastic experience: I have only been with this practice a few months and can totally recommend them. I see Tariq who is so polite, kind and gentle, totally puts you at ease which is great for me as I suffer from anxiety, so much so that I almost fell asleep whilst having some treatment done.

Fantastic experience: I never leave reviews and don’t like the culture of not being able to do anything without either being sent a survey or asked to review. So if I do it must be something special. It is. I had very broken upper front tooth from last Sunday and expected weeks of visits to sort it out. But within 48 hours I had a shiny new front tooth built up on the remains of the old one and not the huge bill I was expecting. Emily you are my hero of the week . I didn’t even know that could be done!

Fantastic experience: Reception are very helpful and will go the extra mile to help sort issues out for you. The dental hygienist is excellent and you come out pearly white without feeling too guilty about the state you go in! The dentists are considerate and you have confidence that they know what they are doing and they take the time to talk to you and explain your options.

The sensitivity Tariq showed towards my ridiculous irrational fears was amazing. He reassured me all the way. I never felt rushed, he listened to all my needs and made me as comfortable as possible. He was so gentle and calming throughout my procedure. His assistant was so lovely with me. The whole team including the Reception staff are so thoughtful and kind. Fantastic experience: All of the staff at the practice are super helpful and friendly. I started to be treated by Dom 6 years ago when my gums were in pretty bad shape, with Doms help I've turned the gum disease around. I love Doms ethos of dentistry and his patient led approach to treatment. He is the best dentist I've ever had.

Negative experience: I have been attending mapplewell dental centre for over 20 years and have always been warmly welcomed. On occasion I've required urgent treatment and I have always been treated straight away. All the staff are brilliant and are very accomodatiing. For example, a couple of years ago I was on crutches for a time and couldn't get up the stairs. At the time the staff arranged all my appointments to be held downstairs. I cannot recommend mapplewell dental centre enough.

Fantastic experience: It’s wonderful to find a dentist that actually has time to spend without rushing your appointment, I am having to rectify damage done by my last nhs dentist, I wish I’d come across this surgery years ago. All staff I’ve encountered from reception to my dentist and his assistant have been so polite, professional and very friendly, nothing is too much trouble, if you are a nervous patient (like iam) do yourself a favour and join this practice iam recommending it to all my family and friends. Fantastic experience: Had my second visit now and I must say I am very impressed. Reception staff are very friendly and the dentist and hygienist I saw were super efficient. They both put my mind at ease. I have one more visit to go and for someone who frets about this kind of thing, I feel completely at ease. I must say I was also impressed with the pricing structure. All in all I would highly recommend this dental practice. Although there is no carpark attached to the practice there is however a decent sized free one opposite.

Fantastic experience: Had to book an emergency appointment and managed to get in the same Day. Was seen by Shahbaz and Megan who were both excellent. Being a nervous patient I was put at ease by them both. They were very kind and caring and despite having to have the tooth pulled it was a good experience my first at a private practice. Fantastic experience: My first appointment at this dental practice on Monday 24th June and very satisfied with the way it went . Plenty of administration stuff as it was my first appointment but at least they are asking for important information that can be relative during any procedures. Professional attitude and approach during the dental work that I required so I was very pleased , hope it continues when I return in July to complete the necessary work . Ian Sanderson

Negative experience: I was misled by the (fake?) reviews which for the love of God I don’t understand how a place like this is able to accumulate. In turns out that even Google reviews cannot be trusted either anymore. My plan was to get a professional teeth cleaning done which is far from professional as far as my experience is concerned. While the chit-chatting throughout the appointment was nice and fussy, the end result of the teeth cleaning was only 1 star, or to put it in scholastic terms, akin to a D minus. Christina M. A. failed to see the ineffectiveness of her craft with tar marks still left on my teeth after she thought the polishing was done. I had to point out the marks she obviously left out which in itself was embarrassing enough (for the both of us that I even had to point out her sloppy work in the first place) but not a dealbreaker. What drove the nail into the coffin was the fact that she started debating me and defending the amateurish results with excuses such as: “these marks are the colour of your enamel” and my favourite “that is the shade from the neighbouring tooth”. I had her redo the majority of work three times before she visibly got frustrated and embarrassed. She capitulated by announcing that this round of improvements is the last. When I arrived at home, I discovered far more spots on the inside row of my teeth that I did not see during my uncomfortable visit. Unbelievable! When you pay £75 as a private customer you expect good service (not even excellent service since the UK is not a service focussed country). Scale and polish is one of the simplest procedures and done on thousands of customers; you would think that after a few rounds you become a pro, apparently not. I have serious doubts that with the type of amateurs working there, who apparently acquire their Hygienist degree in a weekend crash course, that any slightly more advanced procedure results in better outcomes. Avoid this place at all costs and look elsewhere if you want professional service done to your teeth.

Fantastic experience: I am extremely anxious and fearful of going to the dentist let alone having any treatment. I normally attended a NHS dentist but I wasn’t happy with the service so I decided to try mapplewell dental practice and I am so pleased that I did. Everyone there is welcoming, caring and friendly. To date I have seen Jill, the hygienist, and 2 of the dentists Tariq and Zaid and all are lovely and very efficient. Tariq is the dentist that gave me the initial treatment along with nurse Sue and they were brilliant and very patient with me. Tariq took time to understand my fears and concerns and after initial consultation he explained the treatment I needed to bring my teeth back to health. This required a few visits to complete but Tariq & Sue made me feel more at ease than I have ever felt at a dentist. Tariq talked to me throughout my treatment and told me what he was doing at every step, which I have to say really helped me start to overcome my fear. He was patient, understanding and above all very caring and a talented professional. I highly recommend this practice to everyone and especially to those who are anxious and fearful like me!

Fantastic experience: The best dentist ever. Fact! Dom is the nicest most personable dentist we have ever used. Having a fear of dentists he has totally won me over and I trust him with not only my own teeth but the whole families. The children actually enjoy visiting the dentist these days, which says it all. Fantastic experience: I rang and spoke to Sandra after being messed about at my own dentist. She was so kind and professional on the phone, telling me all the information I needed, making me feel extremely welcome. She booked me on to see dentist Emily, and a week later off I went to my appointment. This is the first time I’ve ever come skipping out of the dentist honestly Emily was brilliant explaining what I needed to know, and how to manage my care, asking me what I wanted to change anything I needed. She even helped me with an old brace mark from when I was a teen. And special mention to nurse Janice too for being so kind and welcoming, giving me top tips for products I could try. Honestly amazing team and a credit to the business, I’ll be paying for all my family to come here from now on rather than our old NHS dentist. 10/10. Fantastic. Thank you all.

Fantastic experience: Great practice, I go to Dominic or Emily and they are both great dentists and thoroughly lovely people. After having such a good experience in the absence of being able to get a timely NHS appointment, I moved here permanently and took the rest of the family with me.
