I am now at the end of the treatment and I couldn't be happier. The team were professional and very friendly and now I'm smiling inside & out. Negative experience: there's no patient care, they just want you in and out, I wasn't told how to take the antibiotics I was prescribed or how to go further with any procedures to help with the excruciating pain I was in.

Fantastic experience: I’ve have nothing but praise for all the staff at The Smile Centre where I’ve had really good experiences with dental care. I had an implant for a front molar by Dr Depam Patel. He was clear and concise on what the process. I was also given was a hard copy of the step by step process of what it entailed so that I could refer back on costs etc. Treatment was given over several months and I received fantastic service and I had no issues with any of the stages which was painless.

Fantastic experience: Such an amazing surgery. Every member of staff are kind and so helpful. Stephen is an excellent dentist and has absolutely transformed my smile through Invisalign and his expertise. His nurse, Laura, is wonderful too and they work together so well. I couldn’t be happier.

Negative experience: Booked a year in advance for NHS dentist to be told today my dentist is going private so now will be over a year for any dentist in area would not go near dr parker as a dentist not professional to respect all people he has booked with.

Fantastic experience: After suffering for months with a painful jaw and headaches, Declan recommended I use a Sleep Clench Inhibitor. I small guard which is made to fit perfectly over your upper front teeth and prevent the back teeth meeting. I used this for two or three months and the pain disappeared and no more waking with headaches. I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: My son recently had to have a frenectomy, we chose to go privately and use the smile Centre as I am currently having Invisalign there and happy with the service and care I am receiving. Tasmin was brilliant, we had the consultation and she was very informative. The procedure was done very well and all healed with no problems. Fantastic experience: After spending years suffering from severe sleep apnoea and snoring I was recommended to go to the Essex Smile Centre to have a Somnowell anti snoring device made and fitted. I was very sceptical about this, having tried many anti snoring devices previously to no avail and finally having to settle on a CPAP machine which I found invasive and uncomfortable. I was very pleased with the treatment and explanations I received from Stephen, one of the principal dentists who also uses the Somnowell device himself so was able to give me first hand information. I use an app to monitor my snore score and prior to using this device my score averaged at about 247. Since wearing the device my score has never reached treble figures - it's usually about 47 but last night (after a small adjustment by Stephen) it registered 11 so onwards and downwards!!! As I said I was very sceptical about using the device initially as I didn't want to be disappointed again but when I went on holiday last year I did not want to take the CPAP machine so decided to give the Somnowell a try. I have never looked back and the CPAP machine is gathering dust. It is not cheap and the price might put people off at first but if you want a good night's sleep I can totally recommend it. I never feel tired in the day now. It is the best £1600 I have ever spent. The Essex Smile Centre made me feel comfortable throughout the whole of my treatment. They have changed my life!! (And my husband's life who can't believe how quietly I sleep now!)

After using them for four weeks, I noticed a significant difference in the brightness of my teeth. In terms of effectiveness, I’d say they delivered on their promise. Negative experience: I went there for a filling the dentist put a clamp on my tooth it damaged my gum I went back and told them they just said rinse your mouth with salt water I am not very happy with the treatment I got I have still got trouble with my gum it is still painful when I eat .

Fantastic experience: Highly Recommend The Essex Smile Centre. After being told by 5 local dentists my teeth couldn’t be straightened with Invisalign I was slightly sceptical when Declan said he could. Anyway 1.5 years later I have straight teeth, I travelled 1.5hrs for each appointment but it was completely worth it. Being someone who was petrified of the dentist since being little I can honestly say the treatment I received was so gentle and even the fillings I had, Declan and Evie were so kind and reassuring. Fantastic experience: After 12 years of avoiding the dentist, and struggling with dental phobia ~ I arrived at the Essex Smile center. My unbearable toothache had led me to search for an understanding dentist ... I was in so much pain. I had made an appointment, and immediately the receptionist picked up on my hesitation. She was calm, kind and reassuring before I had even reached the door. It seemed like a long walk up the flight of stairs, and I felt all the awful anticipation of fear that had engulfed me for years. I met Charlotte Lee on that day. She greeted me with a smile, and spoke to me quietly while I cried! I blurted out my awful childhood experiences and explained (through sniffing!) why I was so afraid, especially of 'the chair!' She listened, and heard me, congratulating my bravery for getting into the room... I remember wondering if perhaps I could do this after all.... That was more than a year ago, and honestly - this fantastic woman has cured me of all anticipation or fear that I had. She has been consistently honest, reliable, professional and friendly throughout. Charlotte completes her examinations and dentistry on a compassionate basis, and will stop immediately if you wish her to. She has completed x-rays, fillings and an extraction for me, in a pain-free, relaxed environment. I absolutely trust her, and I visit regularly now, 'without hesitation.' It is a relief to have no dental issues after so many years of avoidance. I would 100% recommend this dental practice, (especially if you are doubtful about treatment.) The practice reception is smart, with friendly staff. The whole department is immaculate. Imagine a time without toothache, dental doubt or apprehension of that appointment? If anyone can get you there - this team will, with a smile!

Negative experience: Mixed Experience at The Smile Centre Rayleigh I’ve been a patient at this practice since it was called Churchview, spanning over 30 years. However, my recent visit left me feeling highly anxious. The dentist treated me in a manner that made me feel like a child, and the abruptness was particularly noticeable. While I understand there may be a language barrier, it was a stark contrast to my previous dentist, Mr. Anderson, who was exceptional in prioritising patient care and dental health. Unfortunately, my recent experience felt more profit-driven, with rushed appointments and exorbitant charges. I was unable to address my current issue during the appointment; instead, I was instructed to schedule a new one. Unfortunately, this means I now have to wait for over three weeks. When I enquired about emergency appointments, I was informed that I could be contacted if any became available. Overall, I found the lack of empathy and interpersonal skills concerning.

Fantastic experience: Great welcome from the staff on the phone and in the surgery. I’ve needed quite a few things sorted out —- gum disease, wisdom teeth out and then I’ve finally got to smile like I wanted to with Invisalign. I wouldn’t have done this anywhere else. Each dentist & specialist have been amazing through each process. The other brilliant thing is, they all share what’s happening at each stage, with each other. So you can move onto the next stage quickly and efficiently. The end result is so much better than I imagined.

Fantastic experience: This is an outstanding practice! I have just finished my Invisalign journey after 8 months to rectify an open-bite. Whilst these are typically challenging cases, Stephen really worked his magic and the results were far better than I originally anticipated! I can now smile with confidence and everybody notices the difference - No more open-bite! The team here really go above and beyond in terms of client care. Both Stephen and Laura in particular were always on call and happy to address any queries or treatment issues. For anyone considering Invisalign or just seeking an exceptionally talented dentist, I could not recommend Stephen highly enough!

Fantastic experience: After years of discoloured and crooked teeth, I decided to have something done with them. The upper teeth were veneered and the bottom straightened. What an incredible transformation. It’s boosted my confidence and I now smile and laugh with all teeth blazing, instead of tight lipped smile. So pleased with the work Declan has done.

Negative experience: Botched Botox Disaster The wedding is in 3 weeks!! I had Botox in 3 areas. 1 area is fine. 1 area there is no effect at all. 1 area is a complete disaster. Drooping eyelid, one eyebrow higher than the other and a lopsided and heavy left eye. Complete nightmare. I did return to the dentist & he apologised, it will wear off eventually & advised me to drink water??!? Ive been having Botox for 10 years and this is the worst I have ever looked. £350 to look like I’ve had a mild stroke in the wedding photos. Avoid at all costs.

Fantastic experience: After years of being too afraid of going to the dentist after a bad experience previously I filled out a form online and I got a call back. The receptionist was good at reassuring me and said that Priya would be good to do my treatment. When I first met Priya she was very patient as I didn’t want to even get in the chair and I’m not good with needles (she always waited until I was ready with no pressure) but I found Priya to be fantastic in reassuring me and incredibly patient. She talked through what she was doing step by step to help with my nervousness and checked how I was doing through out. I didn’t feel judged which I was afraid I would be due to the condition of my teeth. Because of Priya I am able to smile and talk with confidence which I haven’t been able to for many years and it’s been a huge boost for my self esteem. I highly recommend her if you’re feeling nervous/anxious taking the first step to starting any treatment you need.

Fantastic experience: As an extremely nervous dentist visitor i contacted The Essex Smile Centre about having some work done on my top teeth. I need not have worried at all. From the very first phone call to a lovely receptionist called Sarah i was made to feel comfortable and at ease. I made an appointment and had a consultation with Tej who advised me in detail what his plan of action was. This action involved the removal of quite a few teeth but Tej and his anazing assistant Lillie made ne feel extremely comfortable. I arrived a few weeks later for the initial extractions and although extremely nervous Tej made sure it was as pain free as possible with Lillie so professional and caring ably assisting him. I returned a few weeks later to have the remaining few teeth out less nervous after the last experience and Tej proceeded to remove the last few teeth and fit my new denture which i could not be happier with. After another visit to check all is healing well, i am now virtually pain free and for the first time in many years confident enough to be able to smile. I cannot recommend The Essex Smile Centre in Rayleigh enough. From that 1st phone call with Sarah they made me feel welcome and comfortable. From the very beginning she made me feel completely at ease, was patient with all of my questions and always advised me very fairly to help me make my own decisions. Fantastic experience: Have had Invisalign treatment with Priya for top and bottom teeth with whitening and really happy with the results. If you follow the instructions, you do get results. All staff are great and a hugely positive experience. Only downside for me is the centre’s choice to remove NHS patients and be private only.

It sometimes take a bit of courage to go and do something about your smile but the journey I spent with these guys going through Invisalign was a dream. Very friendly, welcoming and re-assuring along each step of the way. Priya and her team always made time to answer questions, to provide options and were friendly yet meticulous in their attention to detail. I am more than happy with the end result and would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: My husband Michael and I were told that Deepam is a brilliant dentist to see if you want excellent Tooth implants. We arranged an appointment to be seen by Deepam a few months ago, we both can't sing his praises loud enough, he has been absolutely fantastic. My husband has always been terrified by any dental procedure (even the smallest filling). I can't believe that Deepam has completely reversed that. I have to say that Deepam has made a truly magnificent difference, not just my teeth but also my husbands. All procedures for our implants have been totally PAIN FREE, Deepam has been the best dentist we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He is thorough, polite and understanding of fears, just an absolutely SUPERB DENTIST. The reception staff are also so pleasant to speak with, Sue (who I believe is the Senior Receptionist) spoke with me and suggested we both see Deepam. My goodness how lucky we were to speak with Sue that day, or we would never have made an appointment with Deepam (our loss). Caron is also another receptionist who we found very approachable and helpful. We don't know them all but they all seem great. If you're considering Tooth Implants SEE DEEPAM BEFORE CHOSING A DENTIST, WE ARE SO VERY THANKFUL WE DID.

Fantastic experience: Was nervous before attending my first appointment here today but I needn't have been, everyone was so friendly and welcoming, including the reception staff who introduced themselves with a smile. I had an appointment with Priya who was brilliant, she offered me treatment that I hadn't been offered at my previous dentist, but not in a pushy sales way at all. All prices were explained on a treatment quote which I could take away and think about, again, no pushy sales techniques here. Would definitely recommend this place

I need not have been as the results could not have been better and the treatment was painless. I could not have picked a better dentist - if you are in two minds go for it !

Negative experience: Very disappointed to receive a letter informing me NHS patients will not be welcome from 1st June. There will be a number of patients that simply cannot afford extortionate private fees or a dental plan especially in the current economic climate. Closing registration of new NHS patients would have been a better option than outright ceasing services and displacing loyal customers. Very poor show in my opinion.

Negative experience: Whilst been generally good for my wife for years who is private, the NHS treatment has been relatively poor and unforgiving for my children. They have since been moved to another practice prior to them removing NHS cover from all patients.

Fantastic experience: I went to smile centre with the intentions of getting a full set of veneers but Declan explained an alternative method with Invisalign and I am SO happy that he did!! My smile is beautiful now and I went for composite bonding at the end and I am chuffed. Feel like I went from zero to hero lol well done and thanks again.

Fantastic experience: After a freak accident where I fell and severely chipped my front teeth, I had an emergency appointment booked in with Dr Jayesh - he was absolutely fantastic. I was a bit shaken by the whole thing and he made me feel so comfortable and at ease. He has done an incredible job with my composite bondings and I can’t thank him enough for finding the time to get me sorted. Having my front teeth back has meant everything to me- so a huge thank you to the whole team. The best dentist around by far.

Fantastic experience: Very nervous after previous experience at another dentist. The dentist was so calm and let me discuss my previous experience and worries. He took things at my pace, making sure I was comfortable throughout. He was incredible. Great advice given and well explained. Will definitely be returning to them again. Couldn't thank the dentist and the nurse enough for their service and empathy.

Fantastic experience: Had a wisdom tooth extracted by Sukh today - If you can describe having a tooth out as excellent, then that's what this was. Professional and painless, talked me through the procedure the entire time. No pain - really surprised when I was told that he had finsihed. Didn't feel a thing. Thanks Sukh and well done the Smile Centre, another great addition to your team.

Fantastic experience: Such a fabulous dental practice, well deserving of the 5 star review. Declan & the team are fantastic, highly professional, hugely down to earth and they make what is often an unpleasant experience a pleasant one. Had to have 3 fillings today (naughty me) and Declan & the team made me so comfortable / looked after me so well. Also had a whitening treatment with them recently and am pleased with the results. They take the time to chat to you & are always checking throughout treatment that you’re comfortable and ok. Ladies on reception are friendly & helpful too, just a superb practice

Fantastic experience: Absolutely phenomenal service here at the Essex smile centre. I was really apprehensive to start my Invisalign journey, but Priya and Beth made the whole journey super easy and comfortable for me. They were so accommodating to my schedule, made feel at ease at every appointment and answered all of my questions! They ensured they provided a perfected service all throughout. Fantastic experience: I am so delighted with my new smile, something I'm not use to doing. Declan has done an amazing job and not forgetting to mention Amy aswell she is brilliant also and so helpful. Declan's recommended and guided me to get this amazing result. I couldn't recommend the Smile Centre enough to people. I am also currently in the process of having an implant tooth fitted with Deepam. Fantastic experience: My husband has suffered with snoring and sleep apnoea for years but the anti-snoring device recommended and fitted by Stephen has transformed our lives. We now both get a decent night's sleep and are not constantly tired. The technology has come a long way and this latest version is neither restrictive nor uncomfortable and it is at the top of my packing list when we go away, since a night without it is not an option! Fantastic experience: A HUGE thank you to the dream team Priya & Beth! They have both played such a big part in changing my life and helping me find my confidence again, I will be forever grateful to you both! Without going into too much detail, I reached out to Priya earlier in the year as I had suffered from some trauma years ago which left me with a smile that I wasn’t happy with and didn’t feel confident in - smiling with my teeth was something I simply couldn’t bring myself to do, and every time I looked in the mirror I was reminded of what I had been through on a daily basis. I was booked in for the following week for a Smile Evaluation with the help of the amazing team at reception, who along with Priya and Beth, made me feel so comfortable and relaxed (not words I ever thought I’d say at the dentist!) After having some work done to get my teeth in the healthiest condition prior to any cosmetic changes, I had teeth whitening for 4 weeks. This was only the beginning, but this alone transformed my confidence - I started to smile with my teeth and got even more excited for my composite bonding! I had my composite bonding a few weeks ago, and I have been non stop smiling! I am no longer the woman who hides her smile behind her hand when she laughs! As someone who has hated dentists her entire life due to some horrific experiences, coming to The Essex Smile Centre has changed my perspective completely! I will never go to another dentist again! Usually I feel very nervous visiting the dentist but since changing I feel very safe & confident in good hands. All my treatments have been 10/10 from consultations to the finishing results. Fantastic experience: A sincere thank you to Declan, Amy and The Essex Smile Centre team for my new smile! Mine was a complex case requiring Invisalign retainers for 20 months with composite bonding to refine the result. Throughout my treatment I was most impressed with the high level of service and patient care, with results that have exceeded my expectations.

Negative experience: I am writing this review to give others an account of the horrific treatment of a patient, in the hope Smile Centre respond to this appropriately and professionally, before this review is followed up further up the chain which I would like to think they would want to avoid if possible - AVOID THIS DENTIST IF YOU HAVE A MEDICAL ISSUE. To start, The Smile Centre have been nothing short of unprofessional in the way they handle treatment of certain patients, it is quite simply abysmal. I will be keeping patients names confidential, however, I have never seen such a case of Clinical Negligence recently, and will be in touch with the CQC (Care Quality Commission) and my legal team to take this further should they not respond appropriately. The staff at the Smile Centre have been atrocious in the way they handle patient care from the beginning, after initially providing patients with the wrong type of treatment, confirmed by the hospital, they have done nothing to rectify this issue since, and still charged patients for this service, one of the patients has had an ongoing medical issue over the last 4 years, gradually getting worse and worse to the point the patient is on a considerable about of painkillers just to get by, which is no way to live, the patient has had many consultations with the hospital and top surgeons in regards to coming to a diagnosis. The hospital has referred patients back to the dentist with a letter sent directly confirming this the diagnosis, to which Smile Centre said they never received - from here another letter has been sent out with a copy also sent to patients incase the letter mysteriously disappears a second time. Patients have had appointments cancelled because rather than acknowledging the diagnosis from specialists, Smile Centre still believe they do not feel comfortable treating patients based off the referral letters provided by the hospital directly. Another point I would like to make about how unprofessional The Smile Centre has acted, is upon which after cancelling appointments multiple times because they would still believe they are making the right call, they have now begun to do so via WhatsApp messages instead of formal letters and emails - to which this has been requested from patients and no documentation has since been provided to the patients in question. This would be the first time in which I have seen patient information and messages have been sent via WhatsApp messenger. After reaching out to receive either printed documentation in regards to the cancellation or a formal email proposal, The Smile Centre has since been unresponsive on WhatsApp messenger and gone offline. I raise this review as a big concern on the fact this ordeal has taken its toll on patients mental and physical health, also leading patients to take time off work due to sickness, which has affected patients income drastically, all these different stumbling blocks have taken a serious toll on patients which should have never been the case, and could have been avoided. Upon patients raising concerns about their treatment at The Smile Centre, staff here including that of reception, have been very short and disrespectful to patients, which should not be the case in a medical emergency, with all the back and forth and delays between patients and The Smile Centre, patients conditions have gradually worsened to the extent of it causing severe discomfort making it hard to speak and eat properly. The hospital has advised a soft diet in order to help reduce the considerable damage this delay in treatment has caused, while they wait for the appropriate action to be taken before anything else can take place. Patients and myself will be waiting for an appropriate response in due course, or patients will begin to seek legal action against the Smile Centre, which we would all hope it does not come to. Thank You for your time and I look forward to The Smile Centre's response in good time.

Fantastic experience: A big thank you to Robert the hygienist for being SO gentle. I was nervous about seeing a new hygienist as my teeth are very sensitive and I prefer the work to be done by hand. Robert made the experience a pleasure from start to finish. I certainly won't be nervous next time..
