Fantastic experience: Can’t fault the excellent treatment and care from Stephen ( wonderful way with patients - personality and all) and the staff ie receptionists and hygienist. No question is a silly question. All treatment is clearly explained. I travel some distance to attend the practice, and they go above and beyond accommodating where they can because of this.

The dentist Mr James Sullivan took time to explain the X-rays he had taken and also gave explained the results of my check up in a language i understood. Fantastic experience: This dental practice is in a wonderfully relaxing setting opposite Roath Recreation Grounds and beside Roath Brook. The receptionists and assistants are friendly and understanding. Everything is totally transparent and professionally done. The dentists James and Steve explain exactly what they are going to do during the treatments which are as painless as is possible. They use the most recent technology and there is no attempt to upsell. The conversations during treatment are fun too and provide a welcome distraction.

Positive experience: I was introduced to this practice over 40 years ago. My work often took me far away, and then it was always a relief to be accepted back into the fold! Now in my eighties, and settled in Cardiff, I still need their expertise, and greatly appreciate the excellent care from James Sullivan and team, and from hygienist Laura Delbridge. And what a gloriously decorated front room in which to spend time!

Fantastic experience: Almost an enjoyable experience at Penylan Dental Practice the other day. Very glad to see Sarah back again, as she is always so friendly, kind and professional. Also Amy who is a great support. They make a very good team and are a credit to the practice. I say almost enjoyable because my emergency visit was because of a broken front tooth which is hardly a joyful experience for anyone, but an immediate repair was completed quickly and efficiently - with a few laughs included. Super-efficient and patient-friendly as always.

Fantastic experience: I have been with this practice for forty years and in all that time I have never considered changing. I joined the practice initially because my work was in Cardiff and it was more convenient. I have since retired and live in Barry but I'm still happy to travel into Cardiff as I know I am being well looked after. Both my dentist and hygienist are professional but at the same time friendly and are very good at putting you at ease. I know I am in good hands . If you are one of those people who are not a fan of dentists and lets be honest ,not many of us are then this is as good a practice as you'll find .

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have been with Penylan Dental Practice for many years, in fact right from the start. The treatment we have received there is extremely professional and efficient, with minimum pain. Steve is a true expert in his field and neither my wife or I have any qualms about taking his advice on treatment. Add to that a pleasant welcome in reception as soon as we arrive followed by interesting, sometimes humorous, conversation. Added to Steve's expertise is the fact that hygienists employed there have also been excellent. Laura the current hygienist is thorough but gentle. There is always a pleasant family atmosphere in the practice.

Swift action on any issues you have means getting appointments or referrals promptly and giving you less reason to go back so often, which is kind of the point when you think about it!

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment for the first time at Penylan Dental Practice in April with Sarah Down and had a very positive experience. The lady on reception was welcoming and then Sarah and the dental nurse were both very friendly and approachable. Fantastic experience: When I enter the premises it feels to me almost like I am entering a happy family home, more than that, a family that I am part of. I came here when my previous dentist retired and closed his practice, that was many years ago, and I feel really lucky to have found such a lovely place. All the staff are most courteous, kind, patient, professional and more. I recently had a problem and I was speedily fitted in for treatment without any hassle whatsoever. Procedures are explained clearly and in as much detail as you wish for. Mr. Clark knows that medical things do not phase me, so we often end up with quite interesting conversations. I much appreciate him taking the time to satisfy my curiosity. The general chitchat is pretty good as well. Whether it be dentistry, hygienist or administration the generosity of spirit appears to me to be practice wide and for that I extend my warmest thanks. I am getting on in years now, I have seen a lot of things, and I think one would be very hard pressed indeed to find a better place to get your dental treatment carried out in. I happily recommend this practice to anyone who is seeking dental treatment in a non-stressful, friendly, professional environment.

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend this dental practice enough. I've been going to the practice for 3 years and all the work I've needed which they have carried out has been of extremely high quality. I'm always happy with the result, and the dental team take their time to ensure they are happy with their work (something which other practices have not done and have always felt a bit rushed). On top of that, I cannot express how welcoming the dental team are, which I am so greatful for as I no longer dread going to the dentist, which I have done for many years due to negative past experiences in other dentists. In particular, Sarah has been a really wonderful dentist for myself - she is always so helpful and welcoming during my appointments. Wouldn't go anywhere else!

Fantastic experience: Sarah is incredible and Lauren and her make a fantastic team. It means a lot coming from me who used to be terrified of going to the dentist. I actually left the place laughing and I'm not feeling nervous about coming back in a couple of weeks - I actually look forward to seeing them both again! Also can't fault the admin team - I had to cancel an appointment last minute due to family issues and I wasn't charged the deposit. They are super friendly on the phone and try hard to find an appointment that suits your availability. I'm so lucky to have found the best dentist - and dental practice - in Cardiff!

Fantastic experience: An excellent practice, the standard of treatment and care i have received from Sarah has been fantastic, appointments never feel rushed and like they are trying to force you out the door as fast as possible. The admin team have tried their hardest to find me appointments at very short notice and always check if i would like to take the place of any cancellations they've had. Overall the team are extremely friendly, effective and i cannot recommend them enough.

Negative experience: They are unprofessional we missed one appointment one day did not see my other child even the other child was on time very bad young recipients not happy with them .

Fantastic experience: As a fairly new patient to the practice I found it easy to register; communication was clear and efficient and I was able to get an appointment reasonably quickly. I was even offered a cancellation with the hygienist at short notice when I explained I was going away on holiday soon. Steve was warm and personable, and the team are friendly and knowledgable. Fantastic experience: On the second day of Lockdown 1 I lost part of a filing. I phoned my Dentist at Penylan Dental Practice (Mrs N Jones) who called me back within the hour and, looking at my file whilst talking to me, reassured me that it was only a small part of the filing that had come loose. As this was not urgent I was classed as Yellow. Once Lockdown 1 ended, my Dentist phoned me and arranged to see two days later when the filing was sorted out. The whole experience showed me how caring and supportive the Dental Practice is and how my Dentist actually listened to me and then did what she had said she would. In a difficult situation the care, concern and professionalism of the Penylan Dental Practice shone through. Cannot speak highly enough of the Staff!

During a recent extraction after some tooth pain, Steve was happy to explain the procedure and talk through the options in a way that made me feel confident in both the decision to have the tooth extracted and the physical process of the procedure. It was also confidence inspiring to note the rigorous safety measures being implemented to keep staff and patients safe during the current pandemic situation. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Had a really fantastic experience when I needed an emergency extraction, was contacted within 24 hours and had an appointment booked by the next morning for the following afternoon, Stephen walked me through each step of the procedure and ensured was comfortable and I felt minimal discomfort.

I particularly like the online booking system, with emails and texts to keep me up to date with my appointments. Stephen, my dentist is fantastic, he explains anything he carries out and it is done with utmost precision and accuracy. He is also very friendly and personable. I also attend the hygienist who is again very friendly and proficient. She explains what she is going, is gentle but efficient in her work. I couldn’t recommend the practice highly enough.

Fantastic experience: Best dental practice I've ever been to! After seeing the NHS practice for a trauma to my front tooth, I was then put on a waiting list of 6 months to complete root canal! Was recommended Penylan practice and Naomi by a friend and went straight to the desk. The ladies were very professional and acommodating. They got me an appointment to see Naomi 3 days later and root canal booked in for 3 weeks after. Had my root canal done yesterday and Naomi and her team made me feel so relaxed and in the best pair of hands you can hope for! Thanks for putting up with a nervous patient and for fixing me up!

Fantastic experience: had an infection in my gum which my dentist gave me 4 lots of anti biotics over 3 months without treating the cause was due to have a root canal but the dentist decided to cancel my appointment and go on holiday expecting me to wait another month without treatment. but rang up penylan dental practice and was seen 3 days later and had my tooth removed since then had another filling and due to have my teeth cleaned on friday this is all in less than a month. the staff are very professional, kind and caring I would give 10 stars if I could highly recommend them and already have recommend them to friends at work.

Fantastic experience: This Dentist practice is superb. After a decade of being too afraid to visit the dentist due to a horrid experience as a child, 9 years ago I found Steve’s practice on recommendation of a friend and I have never looked back. Steve and his team are great. I have two young boys that actually enjoy visiting the dentist because Steve makes their appointment fun and he puts a positive spin on their visit. As for me, Steve works with me and my fear of dentistry and all things connected with it, by always reassuring me and never making me feel like I can’t ask any question that concerns me. Dare I say it, but I now actually quite enjoy going to the dentist myself. Highly recommend if you want a practice and a dentist that care.
