The Gardens Dental Centre (Smile 4 U)

Fantastic experience: Good reminders mean I didn't miss my appointment, and the welcome by reception staff is always warm and friendly. I'm not a fan of dental treatment - definitely a nervous patient - but my dentist has a very reassuring manner and today's examination and treatment (a filling) was about as calm and peaceful as I get. With an injection, of course - there's no way I'd have even the tiniest filling without one. I reckon I'm very lucky to have a good dentist I like and trust - AND ON THE NHS!

Negative experience: AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Even for an emergency the orthodontist works ONE day per MONTH, so if you are busy you will not be seen for several months. There is no transparency about this and I was advised to make a THREE HOUR round trip to their sister clinic in Kent as an alternative. Absolutely unacceptable. The dentist and hygienists are perfectly nice but the orthodontist is outrageously bad, so go elsewhere for Invisalign because they take £1000s from you then never see you.

Very honest and gives good advice. I don't feel as though I'm being advised for treatment I don't need like I have with other dentists in the past. Fantastic experience: I've been registered here for many years but I just wanted to leave a review for Dr Nooshin after my recent experience. I'm fairly nervous when it comes to dental treatment and she has a very calm and reassuring presence which put me at ease. She explains everything in detail. For a filling I normally have to have an extra injection part way through, but I felt nothing at ll, despite it being quite a big filling. Couldn't recommend more!! Sorry for almost accidentally biting your finger by the way lol

Positive experience: My name is not Merlin. That is my son's name. The treatment at the dental clinic was excellent. The dentist was very friendly and thorough. She did all the tests necessary to diagnose the problem. In the end it had to be referred to a specialist. But she prepared all the groundwork. I felt safe in her hands.

Fantastic experience: My kids and I have been going to the Gardens dental centre for some years now. We almost always see Goraf (sorry if I've misspelt the name) and he's always attentive, efficient and thorough. It's nice to have the continuity and we really feel he has got to know us now. A while back, my daughter had an emergency and this was dealt with very swiftly. We're never kept waiting and always get a fantastic service. Naomi was also great when my daughter had her emergency, speaking to her in french and making her feel really comfortable. Thank you!

Negative experience: I would not recommend this dentist. Firstly, they missed the cause of extreme tooth pain, when I saw a second dentist I was told he wouldn’t want to see me as I was not his patient. When I did see him he told me I needed the tooth out without explaining any procedures or analgesia for this and it was my fault for not caring for my teeth. When I went to have it out he said he had had a second opinion and it no longer needed to come out. But kept saying “you’re moving soon aren’t you” as if they just did not want to deal with it because I was moving, rather than dealing with the fact I was in excruciating pain. Then I had a hygienist appointment booked and got norovirus the evening before, when I called to move the appointment I was told I’d be charged fully for it because it was a DNA, when I said I could come but I was not well and didn’t want to spread infection I was told they’d call me back, they then called me back after my appointment time and said because I didn’t come they’d charge me. This cannot be a workable solution for if people are unwell with an infectious illness and seems completely unfair and unsafe to staff and other patients. Really unhappy and disappointed with the standards of care here.

Fantastic experience: Was very anxious about having an extraction because I hate needles but Nooshin was so gentle and calm and I felt so comfortable! They were also so accommodating of my baby and the whole experience was a million times better than I expected!

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at The Gardens Dental Practice for a number of years but my favourite dentist I have had so far is Nooshin. I had an initial check up with Nooshin a few weeks back and she gave me dental advice I have never had before (and I’m nearly 40!!) and she informed me about my teeth and essential care without making me feel bad or being condescending. I had a filling with her today and she was so kind, patient and considerate! I highly recommend this practice and Nooshin as a dentist. I hope Nooshin is here to stay.

Negative experience: I have taken my child for a check and was advised she has a tooth degeneration problem, no plan of action except for fluoride toothpaste and brushing. I have taken her for a second opinion somewhere else and we have two follow up appointments with interventions to preserve the teeth. I would not recommend the Italian dentist nor the receptionist.
