Fantastic experience: I had a checkup with Dr Sitaras, he was very professional. Made sure I understood what he was looking at and why the reccomendations he was making were necessary. He advised of the options available and the pros and cons of each. The receptionists have always been very helpful, accomodating with appointment times and explaining the bills. They also send out appointment reminders so it's impossible to forget. I'd really recommend enquiring here if you're looking for a new dentist or feeling a little uncertain.

Negative experience: I am outraged that one would have to pay again another £80 for a consultation when 2 weeks prior the problem had been diagnosed. So when you book in for that they expect you to pay another £80, people are struggling in life and they don’t care just what money they can squeeze out of you. Disgusting. I don’t like money grabbing greedy business

Negative experience: We have been strook off being patients, due to them constantly cancelling our appointments of which are around a 6 month wait each time. Very disappointed with the level of customer service from the reception staff. Will be changing dentists.

Fantastic experience: I am going to give a 5* due to Mayan and his assistant as they are fantastic. Mayan really takes the times to explain the what’s and whys and puts you at ease- I’m a nervous patient so this is so appreciated. I would recommend him to anyone. However, there are definitely areas of improvement from the front of house staff- I’ve been served twice by the same lady ( I believe the practice manager) who is nothing short of rude. I was told I could split a bill over two appts by Mayan then basically was told by her I couldn’t so I ended up paying the total balance of £600 - It felt like it was inconvenient for her. When I made a jokey comment about preferring the money to stay in my account rather than there’s she rudely snapped “it’s not going into my account is it” I’m fortunate to be able to afford it but I’m sure lots of people would’ve struggled and felt embarrassed and obligated. My Second observation, when I wanted to book a hygienist appt for 6 months time payment was demanded there and then, which is crazy I cancelled and made a diary note to book it later - perhaps a better system would be payment link be sent a week or two before (if you insist on advance payment) but in every other practice I’ve been too payment is made on the day. So Buttercross 10\10 on your dentist and nurses, but I think your policies might need tweaking on advanced appointments, treatment plan payments and customer service from some of the FOH

Fantastic experience: Shiv is one of these dentists I have ever had. Especially when I go into for a filling to be done. Always asks how I am and when having work done says put your hand up if you feel any pain. Also asks part way through if I'm ok.great practice staff are extremely helpful and friendly 5*+

Negative experience: I attended the hygienist on Wednesday 11th Sept at the buttercross dental practice Witney however after checking in I was told my appointment had to be cancelled for 9.30am as the hygienist who was working the previous night had not sterilized the equipment. If this had of been me cancelling my appointment less than 24hrs before it time I would of been charged for it plus the charge of a new appointment when it the other way around it seems these rules don't apply. I was offered a new appointment which I have since attended. The appointment & the hygienist (Ruth) was of high standard & couldn't fault it though. Just had another Hygienist appoint which has left me confused & angered. I was called in the morning as my Hygienist was unwell & I was offered a later an appointment with a different one. I've now seen over 3 different Hygienists at this practice & each is saying different things to me so I'm very confused. I was on the understanding from my previous Hygienist appointment that my mouth may needed freezing to clean pockets around my gums, however when I arrived I was told I'd need a double appointment to do this cleaning which means double money. I felt I wasted this appointment & if Id of known I could of booked a double appointment so I feel I've been miss lead. I'm starting to feel like this practice is just interested in the bottom line (£) I'm not having a very good time with the Hygienists & I'm very confused with my treatment & feel I'm not getting the right information regarding my appointments also.

Fantastic experience: I had an issue with tooth , it required removing, I have received a appointment less than 12 hours after my consultation,Douring my consultation I was give all information, during my appointment I was nervous, I received a lot reassurance, option to have breaks , things would be talken at my speed, The rebbeca dentist I had was wonderful, reassuring and helpful, did a wonderful job. Fantastic experience: The dentist himself is absolutely brilliant, and the hygienists are always thorough and deliver fantastic service. I feel very fortunate to be part of such a great practice. However, I was disappointed to learn that they are not accepting new NHS child patients. My son and I have been registered with the practice for several years, but unfortunately, they cannot take on my 3-year-old, which I find difficult to understand and accept.

Negative experience: I booked an appointment yesterday for 7:10pm today and paid the £80 fee, only to race through traffic and the practice to be closed. Absolutely appalling. The practice shows open until 8:00 and no one there. Totally unacceptable

We tried to reach all scheduled patients in advance but recognise more should have been done to ensure everyone was informed. Fantastic experience: I am very pleased with my most recent experience. I was initially booked for a "doctor needs to assess" in a few days time even though I told the reception lady matters were urgent. Same day in the afternoon I received a call back if I want to be seen the next day, which I assume a doctor read the notes of what I had said is the matter and I received the treatment the very next day as it was deemed an emergency! I went as a private patient, saw the same Dr Alexandros I had seen before and he was top notch as always

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment with Mayon Patel and as usual he put me at ease and took time to talk socially before any of the treatment started. He was extremely polite, professional and always shows a very caring attitude. After taking photos and x rays he explained how he was going to solve my painful tooth issue. Fantastic experience: I saw the hygienist and benefited from a new treatment which left my teeth feeling squeaky clean. It was much more comfortable than previously and the hygienist explained it all step by step. She was extremely helpful and friendly. I then had a small filling for a chipped bottom tooth with the dentist. It went smoothly and I'm pleased with the result. The dentist explained what he was doing in detail and I'm very pleased with the treatment I received.

Fantastic experience: Hi unfortunately i cracked a tooth on Thursday evening saw the dentist on the friday due to a cancellation so i was lucky! & quickly informed me that the tooth underneath the crown needs to be removed & not in a good condition! but booked me in to Alex today ! & though it was very awkward for him to remove what was left of my tooth he done so very calmly! & i am very grateful he got it out without the need of stitches as well & was very professional thanks Alex great job done kind regards Cliff Wakinshaw

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible emergency service. My partner was sent home with amoxicillin and was later taken to A & E and had to have surgery. 0/5 stars if I could failure to recognise the severity of the situation and charging a bomb on top of that for nothing.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this dental practice! Fantastic treatment for a very nervous patient! Mayon Patel and his assistant Libby were outstanding, patient, thorough and so kind I had a difficult extraction but they made it as comfortable as they possibly could Lovely team and nothing was too much trouble throughout the process

Positive experience: I've been with buttercross dental for a few years and over this time I've had mixed experiences. My dentist changes on every visit and as someone who has a fear of needles and the dentist, it can be hard to feel comfortable with someone completely new. With that said my most recent hygienist appointment with Sara Reid was great. She was friendly, professional and made me feel at ease. She did a very good job and I could tell she really cared. My previous dentist Rebecca did 2 fillings and I required 3 needles. She also relaxed me and checked up on me throughout. I was disappointed when I came back and she no longer worked there as my next dentist was late and really rushed my appointment. With all said, overall I'll continue to visit. The reception team are lovely. I'm not sure who my dentist is at the moment but I'm hopeful! I'd say 4 stars overall. I can't comment at this time as a NHS surgery because the NHS is overwhelmed and I've only had private appointments since COVID.

Negative experience: I went through this dental practice for Invisalign and left in tears, not wanting to go back. Both of the girls on reception were rude but smiling and not friendly or helpful atall. This was my first consultation, which I’ve paid for and granted I was 3 minutes later than when they said they could see me but I did phone and she said it was fine and to still come, only to then almost be amused to tell me I couldn’t see anyone! This was a half hour appointment so I should have atleast been able to speak briefly to who I was meant to be seeing even if it was cut short. I think the reception team who was working 15/09 need some further training in customer service.

Fantastic experience: I’m very happy with the service provided at Buttercross Dental Practice, specifically by dental hygienist and therapist, Tanja Wolf, and dentist Dr Kim W Tan. Both have offered great advice as well as courteous and professional dental treatment of the highest quality. Not only are they very thorough in the work they carry out, but they take the necessary time to discuss treatment options, and to give advice as required. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

Negative experience: Very bad customer service I use to see them they were very good untill I got bad experience with them where I was not feeling to good at the time I cancelled my appointment then received a letter saying banned from getting any treatment for 4 mouths and removed me from the NHS pacaint register they only allow me treatment as a private pacaint if I pay £200 that's not on buy just missed 1 appointment and a cancelled appointment it's really sad and perthetic services and 4 years later I asked if they can see me for emergency appointment they said leave your telephone number and we be in touch they never did or offered me emergency appointment so I have to go to Oxford in the end. It's like they are punishing you for something you haven't done and it's not your fault and tried to get explain at the time but they were not having it and from time to time I had health problems so that did not help worst experience ever and now it's put me off going to see any dentists at all as I feel like I might get the Blame again for something I haven't done nothing wrong so don't go here what's so ever your better of going else where
Positive experience: Mostly happy with the service, a little confused how NHS and private charges get mixed up. I really don’t like paying for my treatment before I have received it! It did hurt particularly as I had recently spent over a £1,000 with them, so to pay up front for the hygienist seemed particularly insulting.

Negative experience: Poor communication and pushing of private services. After I had an appointment cancelled due to covid and asked for the following appointment to be transferred to a child due to them needing it more and me not feeling well, I just get told I'll be taken off their NHS register if I don't attend.

Fantastic experience: I had my 6 monthly check and was told I would benefit having a deep clean. I thought I was ok but went to see Tanya anyway. It was such an eyeopener! Tanya was very professional , explaining what was going to happen before the procedure and competently answered any questions I had before and after. I had the intial appointment and then a followup one today ,a month later, to see how I was getting on with her advice and to check my teeth all over again. Tanya and her dental nurse - sorry forgotten your name- were just naturally lovely .Thank you so much -,I've learnt a lot and my teeth look and feel amazing!!
Fantastic experience: An excellent dental surgery. I had to have quite a bit of work done and have been very impressed by Dr Mehta and his dental nurse. He took great care to explain exactly what needed to be done and why. I felt very reassured and have been very happy with the work done. Reception were also very pleasant and helpful. Ten out of ten!

Negative experience: Poor treatment of NHS patients compared to those who are paying for their treatment.... Huge wait time for appointments.... emergency appointments given at the same time of day to everyone who needs one which is utrerly ridiculous.... its quite obvious staggering them would make more sense! Oh and they have no issue leaving a young child waiting in pain while they see to all the paying adults without pain first. Stay away!!

Negative experience: The place is OK, but it's somewhat of a bumbling mess, and isn't run in an efficient functional way at all. This opinion is based on multiple experiences over recent years.

Positive experience: I have mixed views about Buttercross. I really do not agree with having to pay upfront for a hygienist appointment, I recently had one and had to wait more than a month for the treatment but still had to pay the £62 they charge up front! Also under the NHS check up fee I was on the understanding that you get a little clean and polish but apparently not under their NHS charges you do not!
Fantastic experience: Needed a wisdom tooth out and it was done quickly with no pain. The dentist was superb. Thanks
