Dr. Monica's Dental Clinic and Harley Street Facial Aesthetics

Negative experience: Horrible experience from start to finish. I purchased this treatment through Groupon, and being a voucher customer clearly did not mean receiving professional care. From our very first phone call, her tone was rude and unwelcoming. When I told her she sounded rude, she argued instead of handling the situation professionally. During my husband’s PRP session, he became very unwell. We were given no beforecare instructions such as eating and drinking before a blood draw. His face turned yellow, he felt extremely sick, and had to run to the bathroom to vomit. Despite this, the procedure was simply continued afterward as if nothing serious had happened, and no aftercare advice was provided at all. This raises serious concerns about patient safety and basic standards of care. I had booked two sessions and have the emails confirming the appointment. My husband travelled nearly 3 hours for the second treatment, only to be told it was “not confirmed” and she is not at the clinic and be sent away. No apology, no accountability — just more rude behavior. We are keeping records of everything and are prepared to pursue this matter through the appropriate legal and consumer channels. Patients deserve safe treatment, clear communication, and respect. Based on our experience, I strongly advise others to think very carefully before trusting this clinic.

Negative experience: SUSPENDED UNTIL DEC 2026 BY THE HIGH COURT AND THE GENERAL DENTISTRY COUNCIL. Monica Biljani was first suspended in 2021. The suspension (in fact, she has two) was extended repeatedly, year on year. Google Reviews prohibits links but for details, you can search the General Dentistry Council’s record of suspension for her on its website.

Negative experience: Lost her dental liscence due to v poor quality work on 5 other people +myself so court case & my last implant was disastrous with crown on abutments too tall socroen would not fit on ,a composite made that disintigrated in one year then despite my request to remove abutments she made a 2nd composite crown again disintigrating + charged both as cerec crown requested refund but ignored .Now searching for local dentist to remove the mess then legal action to recover costs

Negative experience: RED FLAG !!!!!!! , UPDATE JAN 2025 At ANOTHER review hearing, the Professional Conduct Committee of the GDC EXTENDED THE SUSPENSION on this ( Dr Monica ) Ms Bijlani's registration for a further 12 months !!!!!!!!. Ms Bijlani has been suspended since June 2021. THIS "DENTIST" name Monica Bijlani registration 67109 HAS BEEN SUSPENDED AGAIN , BY THE GENERAL DENTAL COUNCIL , ( GDC) for ANOTHER 12 months!! CHECK OUT THE , GDC WEBSITE REF 67109 ,RED FLAG! The GDC states that members of the public would be shocked to learn that in light of the allegations she faces Ms Biijlani was permitted to to practice without restriction !!!! This "Dr “. has caused serious issues for my oral health I really should have checked Trustpilot and other reviews about her before I had my Dental "implants" I would have seen how she deals with negative reviews. She just seems to get personal , which confirms her lack of professionalism. It would appear she gets a lot of clients who are from social media and staying in local hotels , people traveling , people on short stays in London and others looking for “Botox” type lip fillers etc , and teeth whitening, so they may be less likely to complain. She advertised on Groupon and then criticises people who used her vouchers ! ! in my case and others The GENERAL DENTAL COUNCIL (GDC) have accepted mine and a NUMBER of complaints (check them out on line ) and input this dentists correct name and then click on her name again. This is the Professional body that looks after registration of dentists in the UK and protects the public against bad practice. This "dentist " has an unprofessional approach and apparently she did not have proper valid insurance at the time she did the implants , and if she disagree with this statement , she can sent me proof and the terms and conditions and the proof of payment of the insurance for the period, i will sent this to my Solicitors. I intend to make sure as many people as possible are aware of my experience with this "Dr" now that I'm back in the UK full time, and that the General Dental Council have upheld my complaint , So let her give her rude response to this review and i will forward it to the GDC. I have also been advised there is a number of people still making claims against her for compensation, which she has never offered despite the obvious failings in her work . That is my experience of this "Dentist " good luck . i hope she replies and tries to blame this all on me ! Notes / other complaints to the GDC relates to concerns about the standard of care particular regard to her alleged failings in obtaining informed consent, record-keeping, radiographic practice, cross-infection controls, treating of patients without due dignity and respect and without the assistance of a dental care professional, handling of patient complaints, and probity concerns regarding her “qualifications” !

Negative experience: Went to her for my first Botox, did not work at all not impressed not sure if it was the product she used. When asked for a top up she refused! And said she doesn’t do top ups very disappointed

Positive experience: I went to see Dr Monica to have 1 ml Lip Filler, it was my first time so I was a bit apprehensive. Her clinic on Harley Street is a very sterile and professional environment. She practices high standard in good hygiene. Before starting the procedure, I mentioned I didn't want too obvious results, perhaps this was the reason why Dr Monica did not use the whole 1 ml syringe however she should have asked me before deciding. I found Dr Monica a bit intimidating, because of this I was annoyed with myself, that I didn't speak up. Also, one side of upper lip was slightly bigger than the other side, when I pointed this out to her she said it was the shape of my lips! I left feeling quite tensed not sure if this was due it being my first having this procedure or whether it was Dr Monica's vibe.

Fantastic experience: It has now been 10 days since I had Botox in my jaw muscles to stop me grinding my teeth …the results are extraordinary!!! I no longer wake up with a saw jaw and teeth from excessive grinding . The tension has gone in my jaws, I feel relaxed in my face and my teeth don’t ache after so much clenching. I had never heard about this treatment before and have spent hundreds of £’s on custom mouth guards… all which were ineffective for me . Negative experience: Can i recommend monica??... Absolutely NOT! I went to monica as a patient back in 2018 for some veneers at her harley street practise. Harley street address... You assume top treatment and medical practitioners but let me tell you this is absolutely not true and after my personal experience of this vile and incompetent individual DO NOT USE ANY OF HER SERVICES! I hear you ask why i write a review now, being 2021 well thats because legally it has taken me 2 years to successfully sue monica for negligence and incompetent work skills . I first contacted the gdc after the treatment i received from this individual where a case was raised and opened and they did find negligence against her putting certain protocols in place for her to be able to practice, which again i have raised concerns about her being able to treat the general public as she is such a risk to peoples health and wellbeing, as well as a number of cases against her. I have challenged the gdcs decisions about monica continuing to work and protecting the general public. Monica is extremely rude and lacks any bedside manner. She is aggressive and threatening. She is not a competent dentist. You only need to read her google reviews where she responds defensively and negatively and actually totally unprofessionally to her patients. She is an insecure bully calling her patients names, claiming they have unrealistic expectations, image issues?? It goes on and on and she should be utterly ashamed of herself. Monica will ruin your teeth. She over prepped my natural teeth and then ill fitted poor veneers not only with the wrong type of cement my new dentists findings that the venners were not infact the correct matetial! So after going back 3 times with teeth falling off with in a month she then suggested shaving down my lower teeth in order for the upper veneers to fit! After the venners all cracking and falling off i had to find another dentist. I had to remove all of monicas poor work and have all veneers replaced. I contacted monica to ask for my money back of which she refused and this is when i seeked legal advice. Please do not use this so called dentist. She will ruin your teeth, mental health and wellbeing as well as waste your money. I could go on into more detail about this case with bundles of supporting evidence but i have scaled down a long story short to help others not make the same mistake.

Negative experience: UPDATE - Finally got all my money back and expenses. Took 2 years and to take Monica Bijlani to court but justice prevailed!! AVOID there are enough competent and professional dentist in London. I had the misfortune of attending Dr Bijlani's clinic in March, no thanks to a deal on Groupon. My biggest regret was not checking Google first. All the negative reviews are reminiscent of my experience and I doubt the integrity of many of the 5 star reviews. Evidence of poor hygiene, stopping mid treatment two or three times to answer her telephone, shouting at me and slapping my hand downwards are just the tip of the iceberg. I have had to ask the Dental Complaints Service and the British Dental Association to intervene after the poor quality of workmanship received and my fight to get my money back. She tries to add money on for anything and everything. I was scared to ask for a tissue in case there was a charge! My crown broke after 5 weeks and the 2nd crown she did fell out in days. But Dr Bijlani will tell you it's your fault!! She does not take ownership for her mistakes, is very condescending, refers to comments/actions she never ever made and is intimidating. The second time I visited the clinic she was calmer but clearly blows hot and cold. If this lady is a great dentist as explained in the reviews then she definitely isn't consistent so you attend at your risk, will she be having a good day or bad?

Negative experience: Wow, few years on and not much has changed... surprised this practice is still operating the way they do and "Dr's" attitude has gotten even worse, if anything, judging by the snappy barrage of abuse under each and every unflattering review, which, I dont doubt for a second, all are true. I personally encountered everything - sloppy work, rudeness, insults, inappropriate comments and reactions and i only could get somewhere with her after contacting dental council- to cut long story short and had to reconstruct some of my teeth at another dentist abroad. Obviously , so called "dr" doesn't even realize how ironic her written reactions are to any criticism directed at her , which all are even far more telling than the patient reviews. Also selling your service on Groupon and then slandering your customers who use them is as bizzare as everything else about this practice - I believe no one is forced to do it at gunpoint? In fact keeping in mind what the poor patients are very potentially letting themselves in for they should be paid to come to this practice not other way around and perhaps visit to different type of specialist is well overdue for this dentist . ‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️

Negative experience: After promising to treat myself and fix my teeth for 2021, I looked online for a good female Harley Street dentist. Came across this woman and didn't know whether to believe the consistent theme in the bad reviews or the praises in the 5* reviews. My partner advised I look her up on the General Dental Council website. Wow! She's had many hearings and a book load of conditions imposed (regarding standard of care given to patients; cross-infection control etc etc.) in order for her to continue practicing. Looks like negative reviews have some truth. So glad I checked the register first. Definitely not booking here!

Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Monica for many years and have had several procedures carried out by Monica over that time. She always explains what she is doing, why she is doing it, the options available and costs involved. She is trustworthy, very competent and makes me feel relaxed and at ease. She has also invested in state-of-the-art equipment so, for example, I have had porcelain inlays made whilst-I-waited which means i didn't have to have repeat visits or temporary fittings. Negative experience: Please do not go to this practice. This is a honest review and Monica is just an arrogant dentist that can't face critique. She will ruin your teeth and they will never look the same.

Negative experience: I had the worst experience with Monica. I went to get porcelain veneers done in all my upper teeth. Well 4 of them had to be re-done because she didn't make them symmetrical and 3 f them fell off before three months had past. She made me RE PAY for the ones that were not symmetrical and called me "picky" and "high maintenance" because of it. Please note my original teeth were so much better than the veneers and I simply wanted to get them similar to what they were... She was also extremely rude, I literately never had anyone talking to me as she did. It was extremely uncomfortable being at the dentist chair being yelled at. The cherry on the cake is that she charged me twice one day and even AFTER proving it to her, she is refusing to pay me back, so I now need to hire a lawyer to deal with this and by the way I'll also try to get a refund for all the double veneers and mess she did. This was the biggest waste of time and money of my life. I wish I had my old teeth back (and the thousands and thousands I spent for ending up with worst teeth). Andrea

Fantastic experience: I had a cleansing and polishing at Dr Monica’s Dental practice followed by a laser Whitening treatment and not only she made me feel so comfortable it was done very fast the best whitening treatment I have ever done without any sensitivity after I will highly recommend dr Monica I can’t wait to be back and finish fixing my smile with her !

Fantastic experience: I’ve been seeing Dr Monica for a number of years and would certainly recommend her. I’ve had a number of fillings, a new crown and a wisdom tooth removal. She is always very patient, takes her time with treatment and gives advice that would be relevant to each patient.

Positive experience: Dr. Monica was fantastic. She had to recover a really damaged root canal (due to my previous dentist horrible job) to prep for my porcelain crown. The whole procedure was super quick, painless, felt super calm (we even done some breathing exercises to calm me down) and she let me know step by step what she was doing, why she was doing it and what was the next step. Negative experience: I'm sure the good reviews on here are genuine but personally and regrettably I've had a very odd experience with this dentist. I had problems with a Groupon deal she is advertising so whilst disputing with Groupon I asked if she would honour the deal and let me pay when I came in. She asked for payment upfront for the treatment before having even seen me, the payment she was asking for was hundreds of pounds and she subsequently sent me a text message saying that my appointment would be cancelled unless I called and paid with a credit card over the telephone. Misguided or charlatan I shall let you decide.

Fantastic experience: I got my porcelain veneers by Monica. She is a professional and patient dentist. It was amazing to see my future teeth dising at the computer , before I get them . Now I have natural and beautiful white smile. Really great dental practice I’m happy to recommend.

Negative experience: Please don't believe this 4.1 star rating! You can buy google reviews- please check other websites such as trustpilot or groupon to see what she is truly like. She is under review by the General Dental Council (if you check their website.) My review has been a long time coming, but only after receiving the proper treatment two years later I have now realised how much damage she has done to me. She is rude, evil and unprofessional. I went to Monica with a groupon voucher for invisalign. She told me after Xrays that I needed all my wisdom teeth out in order to proceed (for an extra cost) which I agreed to. I had two out at a time (two visits in total) On the first visit she took two hours to take the top ones out under local anaesthetic, pulling, pushing, the anaesthetic wore off in the chair- I was crying, no further pain relief was offered at any point. She was rude to her nurse, calling her stupid. She dropped an instrument on the floor and picked it up and put it right back in my mouth. Anyway I went home, 22 and naive at the time I just thought whatever. On the second visit to remove to further wisdom teeth under local anesthetic I called her to tell her I was running 10 mins late, she said it was okay cos she was running very late with a patient. When I arrived she was extremely rude, I brought my cousin with me because of the incredible pain I suffered the time before (by this time she should have suggested a general anaesthetic for my second 2) she told me my cousin couldn't sit with me in the dental room. Another two hours of torture, once again regaining sensation with no anaesthetic. She told me everything was successful. She gave me a jewellry ring box and told me they were 'really strong painkillers' and to take them twice a day. No label, no expiry date, no information sheet. I opened the box and they were ibuprofen, which had been popped out of a packet into a dirty jewellery box- (national guidelines recommend at least a weak opioid such as cocodamol AND also you cant give a patient unlabelled medication and not inform me of the side effects indications dose!!.) I go home and long story short, I end up in A&E with a temperature and transferred to a specialist Max Fax Unit in London. When the doctors review me they tell me that 1. she left many parts of my wisdom teeth inside my mouth. 2. They couldnt believe the trauma to my face and the length of time it took. They wanted to speak to her. My cousin called her to let her know that I was admitted to hospital on IV antibiotics and she became very hostile and rude with her. The doctors found she was very rude too. I was in hospital for a week with infection. Weeks after recovery I decided I was going to ask her for a refund on the invisalign, she stopped answering my emails. After calling and calling she told me to come in and instead of giving me a refund she told me I didnt even qualify for invisalign to begin with (why didnt you tell me that in the first place!) and she had brought an orthodontist from another practice to review me. He said he would take me on and she told me she was going to transfer my money to him. I went to see him in clinic, he reviewed me and on the way out they said 'that will be £400 please." I explained and said that my dentist told me she was going to transfer over the money. They sighed and told me that they didnt want to work or be associated with her (plus she never gave them money.' So I had to pay the £400. I immediately called her up afterwards in embarrassment, another £400 out of pocket and she said to me she will sort it out. Weeks and weeks go by and she has not returned my calls or emails. I threaten to get legal advice and she is able to see me the next morning. Instead of refunding me the complete amount, considering she butchered my mouth, left my in hospital for a week with infection, swelling and unlabelled medication. She said she was going to take 400£ for herself because of all the trouble I have cost her & the referral she had to do for me. Poor her. No apology at any point.

If I could give zero stars I would, I had 8 veneers completed but they fell off within a month, they were not sealed off properly and leaked and continued to cause my real teeth to decay. Do not use her for anything, she is certainly not a dentist, perhaps Dr Monica would be better off pursuing a career in which involves no skill

Fantastic experience: Outstanding service at Dr Monica's Dental Clinic. I had an Emax crown made in whilst i waited to replace an old existing crown (This process usually takes at least 2 weeks). She took the time to explain every procedure she was doing and what I needed done to keep my cost down . I called her for a laser treatment that was an offer first she was rude on the phone till she took the payment and when I got there, instead of giving me the service I've paid for she convince me to pay for other treatments and she didn't even do them well, nothing changed I am really unhappy about that, and start the business but all she cares about is money not the customer unfortunately.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Dr. Monica Bijlani’s for 19 years now. When I first went to her practice I was a very nervous patient but she would spend time to calm me down and explain the procedure she was going to undertake. Even now she does not rush a procedure and if you need to take a few minutes she is happy to oblige. Although Monica’s address is Harley Street her prices do not reflect some of the other practice prices in the area and if you have an insurance policy she has always been happy to contact them if they have any queries regarding treatment. I have always been very happy with the treatment I have been given and my family members now also use Dr. Monica Bijlani. She has been great with my daughter from an early age and because of this she has no fear about going to the dentist, unlike me as my dentist as a child did not give the reassurance Dr Monica give. Overall, I cannot rate Dr. Monica Bijlani and her practice highly enough. If you require any dental treatment give her a ring I am sure you will be more than impressed and happy with the result.

Fantastic experience: I got my Veneers done a month ago and went to get them polished free of charge yesterday, which was very nice of Dr Monica. She's such a humble lady and very honest. She takes her time to explain everything rather than trying to get rid of you like other dentist.

Fantastic experience: While on a business trip in London I lost a crown at a dinner party on a friday night. My Hotel was able to get me into see Dr Monica the next morning for an emergency fix. She was very professional yet friendly, told me exactly what she would do, what needed to be done, and my crown could be reattached to get me thru the next week until I could see my Dentist back Home. Took X- Rays and also provided some antibiotics to ward off any infection. I was impressed and have not experienced any complications what so ever. She also helped provide me with information to file a claim with my insurance company without any issue.

Negative experience: Unprofessional and below standard service for a veneer replacement. Dr Monica took 3 attempts before a veneer was bonded to my tooth. The first attempt, the veneer itself chipped by the simple act of flossing, she then proceeded to drill of this tooth without providing local anesthetic. The second attempt, she said she had completed the replacement but the veneer fell off as soon as my tongue touched it. The third and final attempt, she rushed to complete the job and did not listen to any feedback I wanted for changes to be made to the veneer. My experience has been severely painful and I would never recommend her services. ^^^^ Following my above review I am still of the opinion that this practice holds the worst staff I am yet to come across. To the extent that following posting a poor review of this practice in the above form, I received a borderline threatening email from Dr. Monica herself stating the following: "It is interesting that you have written a nasty review under a false name You have not mentioned the facts and have made false accusations.... I am very sad that we met. You are an ungrateful bully and just remember I believe in Karma" My veneer has also since fallen off again in less than 3 weeks following visiting this practice. I am unbelievably shocked at how bad the level of dentistry is here. I have since asked for a refund, but been refused as she seems to believe having a veneer fall off in less than 3 weeks is the service I have paid for. I am amazed she is still allowed to practice dentistry and believe this is a scam that people should be made aware of.

Fantastic experience: Dr Monica administered my restalyne lip fillers. It was almost painless and the results are excellent. No 'trout' lips, just natural looking. I have recommended Dr Monica to my friends and family.
