Fantastic experience: Outstanding service from reception in New Romney always helpful and friendly much nicer than Ashford which I will no longer attend as the person was so rude on the phone in Ashford I now go to the New Romney or Lydd branch.

Fantastic experience: This was my first visit/appointment for a check up. Reception lady was very friendly and inviting. When I went through for my appointment I was asked if I had any concerns or questions about my teeth. I explained that I wasn’t happy with my 2 front teeth to which Jincy explained my options without any pressure to have either of the options suggested. I selected the treatment I wanted and came back later in the day to have my front teeth repaired and also a full and thorough clean. I left feeling more confident with how my teeth look and feel and happier to smile a bit wider now. Jincy and her assistant (apologies I didn’t get her name) were very gentle and stopped to check I was ok throughout the procedures. I would highly recommend Oradent Dental Care, thank you so much.

Positive experience: The staff and the hygienists Brill. What I think is so very wrong is your policy on using someone's deposit with out asking and not telling the person as it is there money not yours to use when you like and the fact that you have now put the deposit up to £30 it's wrong

The staff I encountered where very pleasant and welcoming, the dentist was professional and took time to explain fully my examination and xrays, looking forward to the hygienist later in the week.

Negative experience: I know I am an NHS patient but the fact I was in the exam room for less that 5 minutes and in the chair for less than 1 minute does make it feel like this practice is fully focused on its private patients. I am also treated by a therapist not a dentist but as an NHS patient I have no choice in this matter. At least I get NHS dental services which I know many do not.

Fantastic experience: Was worried as I haven't been to dentist in years but I didn't have to worry. Receptionist was very professional and very friendly, the dentist was brilliant. They fitted me in for 2 appointments on the same day. Would highly recommend

Negative experience: I went for a regular check-up with the dental nurse, who mentioned I would need a night guard. When I went to reception to book an appointment with the dentist for the guard, the receptionist said it would be “about two hundred and something” privately, or £326.70 (Band 3) on the NHS. I opted for the NHS option. The receptionist then said, “Well, we’ll book you in for an appointment with the dentist” — but didn’t specify whether this would be private or NHS. That lack of clarity left me wondering whether I’d be paying “two hundred and something” for the guard plus another £90 or so for the appointment, which is exactly why I didn’t trust it. I asked for it to be noted that I wanted NHS treatment. At that point, she became visibly annoyed and said, “Well, it’s cheaper.” I explained that I’ve had bad experiences with private dentists in the past, but instead of respecting that, she treated me like an idiot for choosing the NHS option. I understand practices want to upsell, but making people feel like an idiot is a step too far. I also know it’s the same dentist and the same process, but I would rather pay the capped NHS fee of £326.70 for peace of mind. Being quoted “about two hundred and something” with no clarity on whether it’s private or NHS — and no reassurance about what’s actually included in that figure — simply isn’t professional.

Negative experience: I recently had my first NHS appointment with oradent dentist. After being a private patient with penny pot. I was told I needed 3 fillings. Which would cost £450 as I wanted white ones. I have always kept up with regular check ups and have never had to have a filling. I went back to my previous dentist for a check up and xrays as I was suspicious of needing to have 3 fillings. I was told I didn't need any fillings. This is extremely worrying that a dentist is doing this. Carrying out work and taking people's money for procedures that do not need to be carried out

Fantastic experience: I cannot fault Oradent at New Romney. A truly remarkable team. Today I was looked after exceptionally well by Amna Ahmad, Jincy and Stevie. I am sure there are hidden members of the team too who all contribute to making a visit to the Dentist a really positive experience. Thank you.

Positive experience: I really appreciate that they managed to fit me in for an emergency appointment within 24 hours of phoning them. It was explained to me on the phone that my dentist was away but that I could have an appointment for the sharp edge of the tooth which had broken to be smoothed off as a temporary measure. Although it was clear that the lady who I saw didn’t know what I was there for, she re explained that she was unable to do anything more than take an X-ray and smooth the broken edge. This is exactly what she did. Slightly confused that she considered any further treatment unnecessary. I rechecked this information at the reception, who swiftly checked with her and apparently the reamants of the tooth left in the gum won’t rot or become infected.

Positive experience: Jincy was most helpful, caring and informative. For myself and husband Oradent was our first NHS "check up". We did not know what to expect but, being the first, we had hoped it would have been more detailed and longer duration in which to undertake? I assume Jincy is restricted by Oradent procedures and NHS guidance regulations? Otherwise, surgery, waiting area, and all staff most helpfull, pleasant, and could not be faulted. Look forward to future visits (quite unusual for a dentist visit!!)

Fantastic experience: I came along today to have a wisdom tooth out and was very nervous having not had a tooth out for years. I was seen slightly earlier than my appointment time and was put at ease immediately when I explained my fears - thank you for making the experience a positive one.

Fantastic experience: When a dental practice contacts you and says they have vacancies for NHS patients, your first thought is "what's the catch?" However I went along with it and found a friendly, welcoming dental practice with professional staff and a patient focused approach. On my first appointment, the Dental Therapist gave me a thorough inspection including x-rays and identified the need for a filling and a further oral hygiene appointment. I managed to get a cancellation and was back the following morning for my treatment. We agreed to do the treatment without anaesthetic, but I found it painful, so I was given a numbing injection, which solved the problem. The filling was completed and so on to the scale and polish - not my favourite experience, but it was performed thoroughly and with little by way of discomfort. I was pleased to receive a lot of information about dental hygiene during the process, which hopefully will help me to avoid further problems going forwards. In each case I was seen promptly at the time of my appointment, so no hanging round and communication with the practice was easy via e-mail and their website. All in all, a good experience.

Negative experience: Whilst I have "NO" qualms with the staff at New Romney office ,they were excellent and polite ... I am a technophobe... I hate anything to do with anything that looks like a computer.. in fact I have had to get a friend to help me fill this in ... I am a 67 yr old person, don't like self check outs in a supermarket and see these things as another being forced to go down ... I have a basic mobile phone , nothing cleaver or as people put it smart .. please if I go/come to this office please let me sign in at the reception desk ... after all it's what the receptionist gets payed to do "help" on a foot note I see your company has a policy about being and actioning on the right path ... is that then if a member of public make a mistake on this electronic sign in the this could treated as miss information ( we are now back into this technophobe area ) and there should be an avenue of help for people like myself who happens to be a Dyslexic... these electronic things don't help people like us ... gh

Fantastic experience: starting with reception nice friendly lady who was really helpful hygienist and assistant really good & efficient only real fault was the new check in system nearly impossible to use, afyerbten minutes I gave up, receptionist tried to use it - gave up and called nangeress who crashed the system, receptionist booked me in on a reserve tables, whilst waiting the next for people who attired also gave up and asked the receptionist to book them in - the new booking in syststem is not fit for purpose

Fantastic experience: What a wonderful team. Everybody here are amazing. The super friendly reception team, The dental nurses, the ladies hidden away behind the scenes and my wonderful dentist's. I spent 5 and a half hours here having dental implants. The care I recieved was fantastic. Constantly reassured, the dental nurse was completely during almost 3 hour long dental surgery. I would not hesitate to recommend Oradent. Their kind, caring nature shines through and if you are a nervous dental patient, they will really look after you. Thank you everyone x

Fantastic experience: After several years of having to pay privately for substandard treatment on my teeth I have been accepted by Oradent as a NHS patient and had my second appointment today. From the receptionist Karen to Jinty the dentist and her nurse everyone was very friendly and helpful and I was horrified at the amount of plaque taken off my teeth which I thought was being dealt with before. I shall be back in 3 months for the next clean and scrape!!!

Negative experience: Very confusing policies. The practice agreed to take me on. It states on the NHS website that the practice is taking on NHS patients. However this isn’t entirely true..I saw the dental therapist who was really lovely as an NHS patient. She took X-rays and told me I need further treatment including a root canal urgently due to an infection however I was told I would have to pay £350 to be seen as a private patient as the dentist isn’t taking on new NHS patients. Despite being seen as an NHS patient? Very upsetting being left to walk out in pain not to mention I am in my second trimester of pregnancy and my midwife is very concerned as to why I have been left with an infection spreading in my gums and the fact I was seen as an NHS patient but left with no further treatment or even a referral elsewhere unless I paid privately for further treatment. Other dentist practices have agreed this isn’t normal protocol and assume they are making up their own rules with regards to NHS patients and the Banding system.

Fantastic experience: Personally I really don't like having dental work done. Stupidly this means I've neglected them.. i was in extreme pain when I joined this surgery. Not only did they see to me that day, remove the bad tooth and relieve the pain, they also made me realise my bad experiences at other surgerys should not have detered me going. If only I had found this surgery sooner. Much happier to go now I know I'm in good hands. A great team, made me feel very welcome.
