Negative experience: I was told that I needed a filling in one of my teeth. However, during the procedure, the dentist worked on my other healthy teeth and prepared one of them for a root canal without informing me. I had no pain or problems with those teeth, and there was no existing damage. After two months, I started experiencing pain and noticed a hole in one of my teeth, which was very unusual for me as I had never had any decay or dental issues before. When I visited another dentist, I was told that my tooth had been prepared for a root canal, but the temporary filling and cotton inside the tooth had come out, resulting in the pain. I was shocked because this was one of my front teeth, and I had never had any problems with it. The dentist also mentioned that my teeth looked very healthy except for the hole created by the advanced dental practice. When I asked the dentist from Advanced Dental Care why he did this, he replied, “How can I know if there isn’t any problem without opening the tooth?” I responded that I never indicated I had a problem with that tooth, and he should have asked me before proceeding with the treatment.

Fantastic experience: Have been having treatment here for full denture on top and partial denture on bottom, the dentist,was brilliant with me, i went private as I didn’t want to wait for nhs appointment, top dentures are fabulous they look like normal teeth, i had a few problems with the bottom ones,the dentist said come in anytime we can fix it, which he has done, from reception to dental assistants and the dentist there selfs have all been very bery good and patient with me, id highly recommend coming here for your dental work

Negative experience: Went to this clinic couple months back for tooth pain & also wanted scale & polish. Firstly, the scale & polish done was awful. Not cleaned up properly. Secondly, seems like they just try their best to get unnecessary private treatments. Trying to charge me £2000 for treatments that I “needed”. Asked them to register me for NHS dentist and apparently there’s a 3 months wait. Did my research turns out that was also false. I registered with a clinic across the road within 2 weeks. Had my treatments done & the root canal I needed ended up being just a filling! Advise you to look elsewhere, especially if you have to pay private. Not very ethical in my opinion.

Fantastic experience: From reception to the dentist. All staff are all nice and accommodating to all my questions. Quick response to my concerns. Felt my in a good hands and will stay here for good.

Positive experience: For the private dental service itself I'd give 4 stars. The minus of one star is due to really unresponsive admin team, always take very long to send me my invoices after treatment, ignoring my emails, causing delay in my insurance claims.

Fantastic experience: Went to see Dr Ryan at Advanced dental Centre last week and finally I've found a dentist that can actually do the job. I've tried many dentists but now they finally fixed my root canal and crown. Excellent dentist. Thank you Dr Ryan.

Negative experience: Would leave zero stars if possible. I was referred via the emergency line because of dental pain causing headaches. Experience with this dentist was an absolute shambles and left me very nervous about future dental appointments. Numerous X-rays had to be taken because the dentist “couldn’t figure out what is wrong” to which he then blindly said he either wanted to remove one of my teeth or perform the first half of a root canal. I asked him again what was wrong for this to need to be done and he was unable to answer. I decided to leave without treatment as it was very clear this dentist was pulling treatments out of thin air. I asked if I would be charged for any of my treatment including the X-rays and was advised no. I then received a call today stating I had left without paying for treatment and when I asked why I was told I wouldn’t be paying I was told that the dentist wouldn’t have told me this and would have said I needed to pay for X-rays. When I furthered that I asked about the entire process including X-rays it suddenly swapped to it being a clerical issue and I’d been listed as being on benefits. A few days later I was lucky enough to get registered and an appointment with another practice - they advised that my teeth just needed three fillings. When I mentioned about the extraction and root canal they said it was unnecessary treatment that wouldn’t have improved my dental health or quality at all. They then thoroughly talked me through the X-rays and why certain treatment would and would not have been needed. My advice: avoid this practice like the plague.

Fantastic experience: Dr Abdul is one of the best dentist I've ever encountered, if not the best!! Very Friendly environment and the dentist puts your mind at ease and makes the visit as comfortable as possible! I definitely recommend him to everyone who wants to get an outstanding treatment

Negative experience: After 8years with this dentist I left what I thought was an honest review. I was then asked to take the message down even though it had positive and negative views.. I was told that my review was harmful to the surgery and it was the owner who asked me to do so.. I did but now I feel l have to share my experiences with advanced dental centre. I now have no top teeth due to dentures that fitted so poorly all my top front teeth basically snapped and crumbled. The dentures I got for the bottom were never used, and I still have all my bottom teeth at the front.I admit that I am not the best for oral hygiene at times but I never thought I would loose all my top front teeth because of bad fitting dentures.. also the way I was treated by some of the staff was disgraceful and disrespectful, however no know Dr Abdul is excellent at extractions, really good.Unfotunatley they also knew I had problems with my mental health and am disabled but they didn care... It's horrible not being able to smile or being able to eat or chew food and has had a huge knock on affect.

Fantastic experience: Dr Abdul is a great dentist who understands what a patient needs, with him you feel he is in control of his treatment. He is also honest and compassionate. I did four front teeth caps that changed my smile and look great. It is great work and never had any issues with the treatment. He is my go to dentist

Positive experience: Had my first appointment yesterday dentist was very friendly and helpful the receptionist was amazing with helping me up and down the stairs with the buggy, only reason it’s only 4 stars is because it’s impossible to get up unless you have help with a pram, I wouldn’t say it’s wheelchair accessible

Negative experience: Would give minus stars if possible. I had an appointment with Dr Muir in September due to ongoing tooth pain. On arrival I was very nervous and anxious which I informed the staff and they assured me I would be numb as I had to have a tooth removed according to Dr Muir. However, after being injected I informed him that I was not numb but he proceeded to remove my tooth anyway. While attempting to remove my tooth (without an effective anaesthetic), he shattered it and continued to proceed despite my vocal fear and discomfort. My appointment came to a very abrupt end at which point I could no longer contain my tears and staff were not concerned or empathetic in any way. I enquired about pain relief and antibiotics as he told me there was an infection and was dismissed. I was also told to schedule a check up for two weeks later, however due to my distress I was unable to do so. I rang once I had processed the traumatic event and was told by reception staff that they would speak to the dentist and phone me back, however this did not happen. I was also expected to pay prior to any procedure being carried out which I didn't question at the time due to the immense pain, however I have recently been informed that as I am under 26 I should not have had to pay for this, or any, dental service. I would strongly recommend avoiding this practice at all costs and will be taking this matter further.

Negative experience: Called for emergency dental was told they would only see me privately and refused me for NHS dental.

Negative experience: I visited for an initial consultation. The atmosphere was very urgent, stressful and busy. They did not take the time to answer my questions with sufficient care or concern. They recommended 3 fillings for £200. After the unpleasant, stressful experience I decided to get a second opinion. From a visit to a second dentist I was told that I did not need any of my filings replaced. Beware!

Fantastic experience: 100% great dentist I came off a ship in Aberdeen need emergency treatment for loose tooth the pulled out all the stops got me sorted when I walked in the 100% under stood my pos had to be back onboard ship to sail in evening staff could not done more for me my company phoned around dentist in Aberdeen no one wanted to know about my emergency that you very much to advance dental care will definitely recommend these guy to my seafaring colleagues

Fantastic experience: Very happy after efficient and pain free extraction. Relaxing atmosphere, so clean and everyone friendly. I'm usually very nervous about the dentist but after my first visit here I have no fears going back for further dental work. Would definitely recommend.

Negative experience: Small waiting area. Does not feel appropriate to have 3+ people sitting in close proximity during the Covid-19 pandemic. The receptionist is warm and friendly. The dental nurses, from my experience, are not. There seemed to be a strange tension between the nurses and the dentist during my visits. As for my treatment, I was told I needed two fillings (which I had done privately, so not cheap). I was in no pain before treatment but I certainly was after. The dentist was quick to recommend root canal as the next step so I went to another practice for a 2nd opinion. The fillings needed redone. Apparently there was a bonding failure (in both fillings!). I was not impressed by the quality of care I received from Advanced Dental Centre and would not recommend them to new patients.

Fantastic experience: This is a very good dental practice in Aberdeen. I needed several root canal treatments and crowns, after visiting several practices for treatment plans and costs I decided on advance dental centre after a friend also had similar dental treatment carried out by Dr Muir. He carried out the work very efficiently and pain free with the end result I hoped for. Would recommend.

Positive experience: First off the receptionist is lovely and very accommodating. I have only ever seen one dentist here and am aware there's two and I can't speak for both of them, it has also been nearly a year since I visited last. But was really disappointed with my experience with the dentist I did see on many occasions, lots of sensitivity after fillings (never had sensitivity before the fillings or with other fillings in the past) and some white fillings at the front of my teeth are rough and are a different colour from my teeth all together, I will probably need get veneers to rectify them. Dentist lacked empathy and was judgemental about my teeth (I had lot of problems due to a medical reason). He was condescending to me when I asked if he could explain the process of what they were going to be doing to calm my nerves. There often seemed to be tension between him and the dental nurses which didn't help the atmosphere of my appointments.

Negative experience: Would of given one star if I could. The dentist I had was AWFUL. I had to get 2 root canals done- one was done without an issue. The second one how ever this what happened- came in to get it done the dentist had no idea that it was meant to be done that day so he said ‘ I will do the tooth in-front as it’s more important than the root canal’ so ended up getting a deep filling for the tooth in front. Went home to find that the filling was chipped...( not even 24 hours). Went back in for another appointment to have the dentist do small work and told me ‘ I am not feeling well today so will be going home soon’ which is in my opinion very unprofessional. I got told that day that the root canal would be okay to do if I get booked in as soon as possible which I did, was a week later on the Friday as that’s the only day I had off. My tooth had no pain, no swelling etc. The day comes to get my root canal done. the dentist fixes the filling on the tooth in-front as a bit fell out whit-in the week. When it comes to the tooth that needed root canal the dentist turns around and tells me ‘it’s too late now, I can’t save the tooth, we will have to pull it out’ BEAR IN MIND, he was the one that was putting it off week after week... I got recommended a dentist in Glasgow, she was lovely. Messaged via Facebook sent her X-ray etc of the tooth. She said she can fix it, but will take 2 appointments to do so, so also told me few things that can go wrong since it was such a deep root canal needed done. Guess what a month later and my tooth has been fine! Annoys me knowing that the tooth could of been saved here but he was more likely too lazy to do it as it required such a long time.. (an hour each appointment). Also she told me I had a mild gum disease that the dentist in Aberdeen never told me? Like sorry.... I also get insurance from work for all nhs treatments, so I paid £40 one time and £20 the other. Before leaving the dentist I emailed the lovely girl at reception to get the form filled in so I can claim my money back, and she sends me an email saying I only paid £20. After speaking to her, she said I will have to pop into the dentist to get the other £40 refunded to me.. which means I PAID FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS NEVER DONE. Since for the insurance claim you need an invoice of what was done and how much. unprofessional... probably the worst dentist I’ve ever been with. Do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: I'm a very nervous patient due to bad experiences with previous dentists. Dr. Abdul put me at ease straight away and throughout my treatment. He was honest about what treatment would entail and always made sure I was happy with the outcome. Glad I've found this practice, a lot less nervous about going now - it's a huge weight off my mind and for once I actually have confidence in the treatment I'm receiving! Dr's Al-Hafez German education speaks for itself! Negative experience: Booked a scale and polish using a Groupon, very quick clean , not what I would normally expect. Prrsumably theythey wer interested as I as I wasn't signing up for any further treatment.

Positive experience: Friendly and polite staff, modern equipment, Dr. Ryan Muir fixed quite a few issues and did a great job with a root canal treatment. No real complaints, sometimes waiting times are annoying. They do remind you via a text for your appointments, whjch is great!

Fantastic experience: Was in pains for days ended up in A&E where they supected it might be dental related, got pain killers, discharged and asked to see my dentist ASAP. So i called in my practice, Cove bay dental practice the next day got an emergency appointment for 12noon, had an xray which showed it was impacted wisdom tooth. i was given Metronidazole and was told a referal letter for tooth extraction will be sent out same day ( which was friday). and will hear back shortly. Friday night I ended up in A&E under the direction of NHS 24 as the pain was excruciating and pain killers were'nt helpful. got Dihydrocodiene to complement the other pain killers already in use and asked again to get an emergency appointment with my Dentist as it is their responsibility and not the doctors( fair enough). so got back saturday morning pain was exponential by sunday noon, not sure how i survived. so monday morning called my dental practice for an emergency appointment for extraction, and they said my referral letter was'nt sent as they found that i'm not registered with them , you are not registered untill you've had a first appointment, i was'nt told when i was seen on friday( just an't piece this together) so i would be seen for examination next tuesday and then be referred for extraction. would'nt even prescribe pain killers till i get examined, sit in such pain for another week?? Hell no!! So at this point i needed an alternative plan, went on google searched and read reviews of Dental surgeries in Aberdeen, Decided on Advanced Dental care. So phoned them up same day, got an appointment same day, in less than an 1hr !! had my teeth cleaned, polished and wisdom tooth extracted for just £31, i was in shock, £31 saved me a pain which was both physical and mental! slept peacefully through the night with no episodes Extremely grateful for their excellent service, highly professional and friendly staff. I would highly recommend Advanced Dental care with a well deserved 5 star.. great experiance!!

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and dentist. Quick and thorough. This was my first dental visit after moving to Scotland 2 years prior. I was not having problems, just wanted a check up and cleaning. The dentist found nothing wrong in his exam, including x-rays, so I got exactly what I wanted. I arrived about 9:58 for a 10:00 appointment, completed a form since I was new, and went right in with Dr Ryan Muir. I had paid my £16 and was walking out at 10:23.
