Fantastic experience: Simone was superb today with our toddler…who was being a wee bit tricky. He really worked hard to get her to engage and eventually got her to fully open her mouth and did a full examination. At no point did I feel rushed or that he was getting frustrated (something it could have been very easy to get with a tricky 3 years ago old) Took what could have been an unpleasant situation and made it a real breeze.

Fantastic experience: Simone was very positive greeting me with a handshake and a lovely smile. He done an excellent job putting my composite filling in. He told me to raise my hand if I felt any discomfort and made sure that the anesthetic was sufficient enough so I was comfortable. He also had a chat with me about future work that I could have done cheaply through the nhs and also offered a solution to me for my bad habit of grinding my teeth while I sleep. Overall extremely happy to have him as my dentist.

Negative experience: My 6 year old son had a really bad toothache on Thursday night and could not sleep. On Friday I phoned the practice 25 times to try and get an appointment for him. My 17th call was answered and I was told to phone in 10 minutes, because the girl who books appointments has nipped out for a bit. So after 10 minutes I phoned again and again and no answer. So eventually I decided to go into the practice myself and book an appointment there. When I got there, I waited for 20 minutes at the reception, and nobody was there. After that time a girl came down and I explained the situation and wanted to book an appointment. She said the next appointment I could have is the 29th of September which is over 2 weeks away. I said my son is 6 years old, he is in immense pain right now and needs an appointment. She huffed at me and said ok, there is an appointment on Tuesday the 16th with a different dentist. I had no choice but take it. She made me feel like I was an inconvenience with her eye rolling and sighing. It states on their website that they offer quick, same day appointments for emergencies like toothache. Unfortunately at this instance what I was offered simply was not good enough. Because my son was still in great pain, I phoned NHS24, because I realised I will not get any help from the practice. NHS24 advised that because of my son's age and his pain, he should have got an appointment the same day or within 24 hours of pain starting. On Saturday we managed to get an appointment at the dental hospital, he had to get his tooth taken out, because he had an abcess forming and the tooth was infected. All I wanted from the dental practice was an appointment to get his tooth checked out, but instead I was met with rudeness and felt like I was just a nuisance in the staff's busy day. I feel let down by the practice and the treatment for their youngest patients.

Fantastic experience: I adore these guys. I had a quack at Bridge Street dental leave me in severe pain by only partway extracting a tooth that was not causing me any issues. One of the dentists here was able to fully extract it and repair the loose filling in another tooth that was causing pain in the first place. I've had the worst luck with dentists and it feels like I've finally found one that is both competent and treats their patients with respect.

Fantastic experience: My dentist knew that I was apprehensive about my root canal appointment, and was very reassuring, checking with me during the procedure, asking if I was comfortable. I was surprised how painless the procedure was, and I was very well looked after by both the dentist and the dental nurse, for which I am very thankful.

Fantastic experience: Simon was fantastic with the kids and really put them at ease as they are usually very nervous at the dentist. He was very thorough with all the family check ups and gave a lot of information as well as a referral for orthodontist treatment for my youngest. The referral was super quick and we heard back from the orthodontist later that week to schedule an appointment. Very impressed with the dentist himself and the service provided. Thank you so much

Positive experience: Waited 15 minutes past appointment time, Dentist apologised for wait and once I was in the dentist’s chair he made me feel at ease and did a very professional job on my root canal treatment. Then took the time to explain the procedure and aftercare etc. when he finished.

Fantastic experience: The dentist was really kind and friendly. My 7 years old son was comfortable with him. Few months ago, my son had a tooth extraction which I was bothered, but it went really well.

Negative experience: Regularly had appointments canceled without alert or explanation. Came to an appointment scheduled for 08:15 despite their stated opening hours being 09:00-16:00. When I arrived the doors were locked and no one answered when buzzed or phoned. Came by again at 09:05 and was rudely told that they were open from 07:30 and that I'll have to reschedule. Really disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I got 3 front teeth removed yesterday. I was so scared and in tears. The dentist was lovely and put me at ease the best he could. I'm glad he's my dentist as I did feel safe with him.

Negative experience: I went to Holburn to start my Smile White treatment and from start to finish, they provided a pretty poor service. I was told they’d contact me 1-2 working days to arrange my first appointment, which they didn’t and when I phoned 4 days later, the lady I had on the phone had no clue what I was speaking about (maybe a new member of staff). When I arrived for my first appointment, I was sat in the waiting area for over 20 minutes before the reception staff appeared. Fast forward to my 6 week check up (which had been cancelled a few times), I had a different dentist who didn’t fill me with much confidence when creating space between my teeth as I was told there was only 1 dentist that could do the Smile White appointments. The next 2 appointments I had kept getting cancelled and when I phoned to rescheduled, they didn’t answer the phone majority of the time. This resulted in my treatment being 3 weeks longer that expected. Once my treatment was finished, I was told I would receive my whitening trays in the post… 2 months later and they still haven’t arrived. I’ve phoned 3 times about this and kept being told they’ll get back in touch and never do. I eventually had to contact Smile White to resolve this. Overall, the lack of communication and organisation was very frustrating and I always felt like a pest when I had to phone. The phone calls never felt professional or friendly.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional, seemingly quite disorganised. A dentist which has since left / been fired had zero compassion for patients, said in response to me waving my my hands to stop, while heavily wretching "were almost done" rather than fix the cause of wretching or gove me a break to recover. Tried for weeks to arrange a checkup, reception rarely answer and when they do, sound a bit confused and unsure of how to do their job. They'll say manager will call you and either not tell manager, or the manager too forgot. Patients should not have to chase like this. Very disappointed so far with the practise and do not recommend.

The promptness is great, no waiting about for ages, a very clear understanding of what is going to happen during my appointment. I couldn't recommend them and Holburn Dental Surgery enough. Negative experience: Extremely negligent care of my sister. She went in months ago about a chipped tooth and they put off her root canal appointment until about three weeks ago. They then proceeded to tell her that the area was infected and they’d have to wait to complete the procedure, only to tell her three weeks later, unable to look her in the eyes, that she needed to see a specialist. Inconsiderate, inhumane, and unprofessional.

Negative experience: This place is a complete joke with rude receptionists and incompetent manager. My daughter was meant to be referred to the orthodontist after her visit in October. I chased the orthodontist in January and they told me they never received the referral. I then called the practice who asked me to send the scanned referral which was handed to me by the dentist and they reassured me that this will be sent that same day. A month later I call the orthodontist and they again tell me they never got the referral. I called the dentist and the manager told me that I must have sent it to the email address that is not being attended??? It’s the same email address I’ve used from the beginning. The manager reassures me the referral is being sent that day for sure. A week later I check with the orthodontist and guess what? No referral received. It’s an absolute joke!

Negative experience: My Experience: Horrendous from Start to Finish I accompanied my mum to this dentist as she is an incredibly nervous patient. We made this known to the dentist upon entering, but he seemed entirely disinterested. My mum attempted to explain her dental situation, particularly her concerns regarding dental reconstruction. However, after a rushed examination, the dentist insisted on extractions and fitting dentures—despite her being explicit about not wanting dentures as an option. The dentist was not only dismissive but also rude, making unfounded accusations that my mum had been extracting her own teeth. He refused to provide any suggestions for alternative treatment paths. To make matters worse, he was incredibly disrespectful to his dental nurse, shouting at her to turn down the music and declaring it "very annoying." Throughout the appointment, there was a complete lack of empathy or compassion for my mum’s nervousness. Instead, his behavior seemed to heighten her anxiety. This dentist has absolutely no bedside manner and should not be dealing with the general public, especially nervous patients. The practice itself is rundown and depressing—a clear warning sign we should have heeded. Thankfully, we chose to have my mum seen at Fergus & Glover instead. The contrast was stark: she received proper advice, a comprehensive treatment plan, and multiple options—all delivered with endless empathy. Unless you want to be badgered and berated, avoid this place at all costs.

Positive experience: Had AirFlow dental cleaning done for the first time. Got rid of a lot of staining as I've not had a dentist clean for sometime. I'd probably have it again (if I could afford it).

Everyone i have had dealings with within the practice ie Reception staff, Dental nurse and the Dentist himself have all been nothing other than welcoming and polite. They have a lovely nothing is to much trouble attitude which makes you feel at ease. The reasurance the Dentist himself has given me on several appointments including the one i just had on the 11th of October really helped me alot. I have never had anything but positive things to say about the Dentist. My 2 children who also attend this practice, one who has additional support needs also felt very reassured by the calm and friendly staff. Nobody likes going to the dentist but as far as this one goes it's by far the best one I've been to. I would highly recommend Holburn Dental Care if you are on the lookout for a new dental practice.

Fantastic experience: Was there yesterday for my filling. Was avoiding dentists for years as being a very panicky patient I was very very terrified. However dentist was so calm and amazing. Even though being scared of anaesthetic, I did it and dentist took time for me to feel calm and relaxed. I didn't have any pain and felt very relaxed. Did job very well, I had most pleasant experience. Truly recommend!

Fantastic experience: First appointment here and with my son who is autistic, the staff were brilliant!The man at reception answered all my sons questions and was very friendly, both dental staff were very careful of saying things infront of him incase it upset him and instead spoke to me. Brilliant first appointment with them. I returned today for a dental clean and my teeth feel and look amazing! Again the same 2 Dental staff (didn't get their names) were Brilliant and talked me through everything and were just really comfortable to be around. Very happy with my change to this dentist.

The only minor issue was that there weren't may options for payment plans when I visited, however, I was told they'd be implemented soon. Overall a very pleasant experience, would definitely recommend!
