Her calm and gentle approach made the appointment comfortable and stress-free. I’m very grateful for the excellent care and would highly recommend her.
Fantastic experience: I was born with a cleft lip and palete I’m now 61 and lost a few teeth over the years iv paid private a few times for dentures nothing ever fit. My dentist referred me back to here and I saw jenny who step by step made 2 new dentures they are a perfect fit Jenny and her team were all absolutely lovely. This is a fab place and very proud of it being in the northeast. Well done dental hospital. Xx
Negative experience: Wisdom tooth infection dismissed with no examination!! I rang 111 at 12noon after being woken by intense pain from what I knew was a worsening wisdom tooth infection (it has been painful on and off for more than a year). I was referred here for an emergency appointment, which initially felt reassuring. When I arrived, there was no proper check-up, no X-ray, and no attempt to assess the underlying problem. I was simply sent away with a course of antibiotics and nothing else. No explanation of the infection, no discussion of treatment options, and no plan for follow-up. I was told to book a private dentist for check up. I paid £27 for no check up visit. What a joke !!!
Negative experience: Severe toothache dismissed despite clear infection I rang 111 at 04:00 after being woken by unbearable tooth pain that had already been ongoing for two days. I was referred here for an emergency appointment which at first seemed great. After an X ray clearly showed an infection or abscess at the root of my tooth I was shocked to be told that no antibiotics would be prescribed. I was simply advised to keep taking paracetamol and ibuprofen. No referral for a root canal was offered. They just said they can pull my tooth out. Imagine going to university for 7 years to become a dentist, and all you can do is remove a tooth. Anyone can remove a tooth. Nobody within the building could perform a root canal - blows my mind. It is now 02:00 the following night and I still cannot sleep. My cheek has now swollen further and the pain is radiating across the entire left side of my face. The idea that a bacterial gum infection evidenced by a scan does not warrant antibiotics is beyond belief. I now have to chase another appointment at 08:00 just to be prescribed the medication that should have been given in the first place. False economy. Total waste of time and I strongly recommend that if you know you have an infection/abscess and require antibiotics to treat the pain in order to buy time to find a specialist to perform a root canal, then ask 111 NOT to refer to the RVI Dental Hospital in Newcastle.
Fantastic experience: I was at the dental hospital on Thursday 23 November the Staff are all helpful and friendly, made me feel more comfortable. Extremely thorough, leave you feeling well looked after. Waiting times are reasonable and all options were discussed in detail, staff didn't mind answering any questions and were very patient. I have aniexty, I couldn't relax in the dental surgery I'm now more then happen to return to the dental hospital when ever I need to be seen I got seen bout 5.20pm it was lovely young lad and lady who seen me I can't recommend them enough if you are scared of dentist they are the people to see there so lovely and helpful really made me feel relaxed and was very helpful when the were pulling me tooth out I would give 10/10
Fantastic experience: Don't remember who I had seen but went in to get sadation 2 days ago and they were so helpful as had anxiety and they calmed me down and talked to me while they distracted me from the needle and getting sleepy. Now I don't remember a thing but they were really nice staff!!
Positive experience: Seen on time
Fantastic experience: My daughter seen James, he's exceptional!!! Very friendly & explains everything properly ensuring all my daughters needs are met & her getting the right treatment is prioritised!! Thankyou.
Fantastic experience: We've had a lot of great NHS dental care here over the years
Fantastic experience: Superb staff .
Fantastic experience: The dentists and other dental staff/students who conduct the procedures are all amazing, and I've never had a bad experience.
Positive experience: Exceyparking.
Negative experience: Reception are useless. 30 minutes on hold, transferred three times for them just to hang up on me when the finally felt like answering. Shocking.
Fantastic experience: After having 2 failed root canal treatments and ongoing pain for nearly 5 years, I am absolutely amazed that I am able to bite into food again without feeling pain. I cant thank the dentist Amiy enough, he has helped me so much. Himself, both the professors and the dental nurses that were involved with my course of treatment were all so lovely and professional. I suffer really bad with anxiety and being a patient heightens that as i have had so many problems with my teeth. The first dental nurse Ashleigh was so kind too, she was always checking to see if i was alright which made me feel at ease. I honestly cant thank the team enough. I wish yous all the success for the future. Thank you so much
Fantastic experience: Recently had both of my wisdom teeth removed here, absolutely fantastic level of care, truly exemplary. Initially I was very anxious with the concept with there being a lot of dental students in training but I had absolutely no issues whatsoever, everything is very heavily monitored by supervisors, who will also complete more advanced procedures where needed. Couldn’t recommend it more if you need it! Truly superb. The dentist that I saw for both of my lower wisdom teeth, Andrew, was absolutely fantastic, I felt incredibly comfortable in his care.
Fantastic experience: Just thought it was important to share our amazing experience with a lovely dentist. We were here a few weeks back and seen heather, a lovely Scottish lady, then again this morning with my daughter who I need to express is absolutely TERRIFIED of the dentist, she’s very emotional and anxious when attending appointments at the dentist usually. But last time we were here, she was made a lot more comfortable just purely by the patience and kindness shown from heather. Both times she has clearly described every little thing she’s going to do and also again explains as she’s doing it, she made lots of lovely little jokes to keep my daughter calm and laughing, she constantly reassured her how well she was doing even though she did a lot of wriggling and crying the first time, she was so patient with her. Today’s experience was even better, my daughter went in less nervous and she never even had a single tear and I honestly believe it’s purely down to the amazing experience she had the first time, again heather was constantly talking to her letting her know every detail of what was happening and letting her look at the different tools and products she was using, asking her about different things she enjoys etc, some people don’t always have that much patience with children. I think she just deserves the recognition as she’s really amazing at her job! My daughter hasn’t stopped expressing how lovely heather was and how she wants to see her every time she goes, which really says it all!
Fantastic experience: I saw a student dentist called Frankie today for an emergency appointment, she was great!
Fantastic experience: Amazing. Had to go for an emergency appointment and the students where so friendly and understanding. Overseen by a professional but mostly independent.
Negative experience: Rang 111 all weekddays jn row front tooth has broken in half and they still can’t see me it’s now nearly been a week including the weekend, in agony and I have my wedding coming up in couple weeks so this is going to be great thanks nhs. Country is a shambles
Fantastic experience: Attended with my daughter this morning for emergency appointment. Everyone friendly and welcoming. They were very professional and clearly stated what would happen. Although she has I high level of dental anxiety, they took the time to reassure her and supported her throughout the procedure. All staff a credit to the profession. Thank you all so much.
Negative experience: Absolutely rubbish and waste of time they don't do anything about tooth sensitivity my tooth is sensitive for 5 years after I seen many times in this place all they do is telling me to take painkillers I absolutely wasted my time going there many times and they didn't do nothing I'm fuming I'm gonna have to go to private dentist and do root canal or take out
Fantastic experience: Excellent, compassionate care from dentists and nurses.
Negative experience: Went with very bad toothache they said my tooth was dead and an infection so 2 hrs of drilling and scraping inside my tooth they then put in a temp filling I was then sent home only for my toothache to be worse my own dentist done an xray and it was a nerve the problem my tooth wasn't dead but he had to remove it because of the damage they done I'm not happy at all about this
Fantastic experience: I'm no fan of the dentist, infact I'll do pretty much anything to avoid going. I've been lucky over the years, full set of teeth no real issues until last Friday when my face swelled, sore tooth and an abcess. I got an emergency appointment for Saturday morning 19 October 9am. I made it clear I hate the dentist in fact it terrifies me. The two woman who looked after me were unbelievably understanding, so nice and friendly. They put my mind at ease talking about football and other things. We even joked because I said can I drink a few times and they thought I meant alcohol but I meant water. So we cracked jokes about them thinking I'm a bloody alcoholic haha. I'm far from it but it was funny nonetheless. Anyway, a long story short, my tooth was out, abcess drained and sent home to get some antibiotics. Job done! I just wanted to leave this review because I'm sure there will be hundreds if not thousands of people who feel the same way I do and are anxious about going to the dentist. But these two lasses were outstanding and really put me at ease and it wasn't as bad as I expected. Great service, lovely people, hopefully won't return Cheers
Fantastic experience: Brilliant place. Nothing is ever a problem .Got an emergency appointment and as soon as I was seen I was sent straight to xray then tooth removed. Totally recommend
Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic experience! Boris was my dentist on 9/10/24. My appointment was at 8:45am (so you know who I am) I couldn’t have asked for this to have went any better! Honestly superb! I hadn’t been in the dentist chair for many years from it being my greatest fear, I explained to Boris that I was really worried and he was brilliant. Talked me through everything that was happening and every single stage and what was going to be done. The numbing of my gyms was one part I remember as a child as I can’t even lie I was dreading it. Boris and his supervisor kept me at ease and really really helped. It was nothing! Honestly if Boris was my permanent dentist I’d be booked in all the time. He even tried a little bit small talk when he could see I was worried and overthinking and shaking in the chair. It did help! The only thing that took my pain away was water on the gums on the right side of my face. He knew this was helping and it was no issue. He said if you’d like just pop up your left hand and we can stop so you can have a drink during examination before the numbing. As well as that, after drinking about 15 pints of water the night before, I needed the toilet constantly, Boris and the team were great and let me go a few times when needed. I rate my experience a solid 10/10! Thank you Boris and the NHS team at the Dental Hospital RVI
Fantastic experience: Excellent caring staff put me at ease very quickly went above and beyond to ensure quick treatment. Never got same level of treatment from any previous dentist. Thanks
Fantastic experience: Last year my husband needed emergency treatment they were swift efficient & so helpful, appointment given for the next day. He had an after infection which can be quite common again received great next day service, amazing facility.
Fantastic experience: Can’t recommend the paediatric unit enough. Gemma and James and their whole team were amazing with my son and gave us the answers we needed and a plan in place for his teeth. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Every member of staff I met and dealt with today in all aspects were fantastic
Negative experience: The adult orthodontics area is all one big treatment room with about 10 chairs in - like a barber shop no privacy at all, made me feel very uncomfortable having a consultation in front of a room full of other people. I hope they don't do extractions in there!
Fantastic experience: Jeden minus to za mało miejsc parkingowych.
Fantastic experience: This Dental Teaching Hospital is renowned all over the world as an excellent place to learn to and become a fully qualified Dentist. The student fees are substantial. Much is demanded of the students. They use members of the public in the teaching live unit. The consultant dentist will give your teeth a thorough, proper dental inspection, wearing them expensive eye lenses that look similar, but much smaller than binoculars. See photo below of the consultant looking at my teeth in discussion with a Student Dentist. Once the consultant has done this. Then the student will also search for problems in your teeth explaining his findings to the dental nurse, once s/he has finished and often during the student will be talking to the consultant to explain what they see. After this the student and consultant discuss the best way to move on with fixing your teeth. They decide on the course of treatment. They explain what they've found, and what the student Dentist is proposing to do about it. And then the treatment starts. You keep the same student Dentist throughout the course of your treatment and you get to know the Dentist. And most importantly the student Dentist gets to know you and your teeth. You can be called for mornings or afternoons. The treatment is free. However you must endeavour to turn up for your allotted slot. If you don't turn up you can be removed from the free treatment list. I strongly feel, that if you have been a accepted for free treatment, you should endeavour to turn up before your appointment time, at least 10mins before. Then wait. One last thing. The treatment you get is 1st class the Dental work they do here is of the highest order. The personal care is the highest standard too. The Dental school using the very latest techniques and materials in your Dental treatments. I am very grateful to all those in the Dental Teaching Hospital for all that they have done for me. The photos, attached below, show two student Dentists were both wearing COVID protection gear whilst treating me, during the COVID period. These were adverse conditions. I'm sure you will agree. I can say immediately, they treated me with great respect, and sensitivity. These young "Student" Dentists understand, without people to learn on, they cannot progress and become great Dentists' in the communities around us. They try hard and work hard to get their skills up to the necessary standard to become a Dentist. The treatment and experience is second to none. Sign up online, find the Dental School Newcastle RVI Richardson road. Apply and turn up.
Fantastic experience: I had a wisdom tooth kick off big time. 111 got me an appointment here within 4 hours. I was seen very quickly, had an extraction booked, and was out by 1600. Many many thanks to Mia who performed the extraction, and Fiona her supervising clinician.
Fantastic experience: Amazing staff fast service was in a canny bit pain with back tooth problem turns out my half tooth was dying and that was the main issues flagged up he took care of it real fast and the assistant nurse was fantastic especially if you have high anxiety then told it’s tooth extraction… painless just lots of anxiety for no reason but always had that going dentist
Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing here! Had such an awful few days with severe tooth pain and called 111 got referred super quick, the student who saw me was absolutely amazing! I have a big fear of dentists and I’m insecure about my teeth and he made me feel so comfortable, relaxed and at ease, unfortunately I didn’t remember his name! I remember he was Irish! But yeah he was brilliant and so was the lady who assisted him! Both super and can’t recommend this hospital enough! I’ve not been able to get into a dentist since moving to the area nearly a year ago so this was such a relief to hear about! Thanks for everything!! Definitely recommend!!
Fantastic experience: I rang 111 Friday night for help with toothache. (They were terrible) rang a couple of more times and was eventually offered dental hospital appointment at 9am. Walked out of dental hospital at 09.45am after having cracked wisdom tooth removed. Service was great. Reception staff lovely and dental nurse amazing. My only criticism would be that the dentist was moody and had a terrible attitude. Barked orders at me like a dog. Still a very efficient service and I am now out of pain
Negative experience: left with wisdom tooth half out. Told to find someone else to remove it. Still spitting blood 8 hours later no pain killers sat in dental chair over 1 hour while twisting tooth and playing around using every single tool now can't eat or open mouth. Told that it's not actually a dental hospital anymore and just a school and don't give any appointments unless refered by a dentist. Tho dentist now apparently no long exist anymore
Fantastic experience: Just had tooth removed the treatment was excellent could not have been better .
Fantastic experience: Had a tooth out today, the staff were amazing It was a pleasure from beginning to end of my visit thank you so much ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fantastic experience: Amazing! Huge thanks to the friendly and experienced staff helping me. Really quick and organised teams. Many thanks!!
Negative experience: Why should anybody be refused treatment to correct an abnormal bite just because it wont affect you medically even though it can take a huge toll on ones mental health? if your thinking of going here to get ur bite corrected i suggest you go elsewhere they are very stingy with who they give treatment to.
Fantastic experience: Went here for an emergency molar extraction absolutely brilliant can't praise the student dentist I saw enough even after I bit her finger (accidental) she was great thank you everyone.
Fantastic experience: After having a lot of trauma with dentists as a child it’s been over 10 years since I’ve seen a dentist. I was referred to the dental hospital through 111 and seen by Emma I think her name was (blue scrubs and pink shoes) who was amazing and reassured me throughout. After 2 X-rays I was talked through options and sent to max fax who surgically removed the tooth. The young guy, Irish dr and Irish healthcare or nurse who then removed my tooth were absolutely amazing and made me feel at ease throughout. Cannot thank them enough for the best experience I’ve had at a dentist, they really were amazing
Negative experience: While under the dental hospital I have had to constantly chase appointments, I've had a filling fall out, and emergency extraction and a wobbly tooth that they were aware of (and i have proof of this) come out, the tooth could of been saved. I've had two appts and had to cancel two due to covid and caring responsibilities. I've complained to pals. I've had an appt through today with a time they are aware is not suitable for me due to caring responsibilities, I've called them and they've cancelled it and will get the student to redo it. Which means I'm probably going to have to chase up again. Its just pure negligence at this point.
Fantastic experience: Staff were very professional and although my husband was only supposed to have a consultation because he had been referred by his dentist 6 months ago and was in considerable pain they fitted him in immediately for a tooth extraction.
Fantastic experience: Clean, good atmosphere staff
Negative experience: My child is autistic and has severe oral issues 2wks ago she was seen by a lovely lady who reassured her and said any problems call back,. But today the same problem occurred in a different part of her mouth phoned up wouldn't listen to my concerns how important that my daughter has actually asked to be seen by them they have no understanding of autism which is very important but sadly lacking cheers Alex you were no help at all
Fantastic experience: I came in yesterday for an emergency dental appointment as my tooth had been in agony, I'm not registered with a dentist so it's been hard for me to find anywhere to help, the staff were absolutely amazing and I was seen within 10 minutes, the lady who did the work on me was absolutely fantastic and very reassuring and did an exceptional and professional job, I wish I could've thanked her more!! Could not recommend enough. You're amazing guys! Josh
Negative experience: All the hospitals in England and NHS have the worst service and they only claim that this country is a 24-hour hospital, but it is closed at 6 pm. I have a toothache. 111 tells me to take paracetamol for 7 days. I will give you an appointment for 7 days. Does this mean that they really don't hurt so far? This country is completely desolate uk
Negative experience: Appalling, they hang up on you
Fantastic experience: Couldn’t have had a more pleasant experience, considering it was a tooth extraction. The team were all so lovely from start to finish and the dentist was so reassuring, Thankyou SO much!
Fantastic experience: First rate treatment from Emily and support staff - so patient focused and professional. All superb.
Fantastic experience: One of teeth cracked while eating and 111 sent me to a dentist in Wideopen at first. It almost felt like a stain upon their private practice that an NHS patient had been sent there. I was in and out within minutes with a temporary filling. The filling lasted 3 weeks before breaking out. Back on the phone to 111. This time they got me an appointment at the dental hospital. Yes I had to wait a little while, which is something anyone using the NHS should expect, but the staff were friendly and helpful. I was examined by one dentist who said the tooth had been decaying and they could either remove it or start a root canal. I choose a root canal - what can I say, I really enjoy that scene from Little Shop of Horrors where Bill Murray goes to the dentist. Due to a lack of time they weren’t able to start it that day, so asked me to come back first thing in the morning. A 4th year student (Holly) began the root canal, while I have no prior experience with dentist, she was amazing. No pain until hitting an inflamed nerve, so stopped for a week to let it settle. What she had done was relieve the pressure and topped it off with a wonderfully smooth temporary filling, which would put the dentist in Wideopen to shame — 4th year student > inconvenienced private dentist! This cost me nothing. We are VERY fortunate to have (as I discovered listening to the students talk to each other as they drilled away and waited to consult with Tom) such a highly regarded dental hospital in Newcastle. We need to save the NHS. It has to be kept and supported. As the people who work there are doing so for the right reason - other people’s well-being and not making as much money as possible. I wish all the best to Holly (even if she did say she wouldn’t stay in Newcastle after graduating)! Don’t know what you got till it’s gone - Cinderella
Negative experience: Always go here and the staff is lovely but today - wow i don’t think i’ve evert encountered this. Phoned up to orthodontics to book an appointment after having missed one due to personal reasons, Receptionist was so rude and said “well you didn’t say that” and spoke to me in a very unfriendly manner. I ignored this of course. Only nice part was speaking to my dental nurse from my doctor. Do better honestly
Fantastic experience: I had a 111 referral for an extraction. I had two trainees that were in year 4. They made me feel so at ease, suffering from severe anxiety. They were supervised by a lovely lady dentist who helped me relax and breath and they all talked me through every step of the extraction. The only grumble I would have is the door was always open and a male was watching from another room directly opposite and people walking past while I was having the extraction so a little privacy would of been appreciated. Thank you for making me feel better.
Positive experience: Had a few teath taken out as the where cusing pain in my jaw it was qwick and straight forward
Negative experience: I can only comment about their phone system. I was shoved into two queue. So i waited 40 mins on the number they provide only to find out its just a shared switchboard. I had a sinking feeling when I was told 'I'l just put you through'. Sure enough another 40 min wait. Why on earth cant you just ring the Dental Hospital wuthout the shared switchboard? No one working full time wpuld have the time to just cancel an appointment.
Fantastic experience: Phoned 111 and had an appointment the next morning everybody at the dental clinic was amazing from reception to clinicians excellent service would highly recommend
Fantastic experience: Brilliant friendly and professional service
Fantastic experience: Very patient, friendly and helpful. All very sweet people who care for you.
Fantastic experience: After an awful experience at my dentist when they unsuccessfully tried to extract a tooth and I had to stop them because of the pain, I was terrified when I was referred and attended the hospital for them to finish the job. I need not have worried. The care provided by the Dental Hospital was absolutely wonderful. They provided the sedation I needed and although I suspect the extraction wasn’t completely straight forward, once I came round I was fine. Paracetamol, saltwater rinses and soft food were all I needed for a couple of days. A huge thank you to the wonderful staff who performed the procedure and looked after me! A huge thank you to every single member of staff - and to the top team who have clearly worked hard to make sure there is a culture of care and compassion.
Fantastic experience: Amazing staff, they are a credit to the NHS.
Fantastic experience: Very good care at the dental hospital can't thank them enough
Fantastic experience: Had 2 wisdom teeth taken out today, the two ladies were very good, super quick and know what they're doing! Always checking in see if everything's going okay with me too thanks for your help!
Negative experience: appalling service. No one ever answers the phone. Have wasted so many hours of my life and over £50 just on trying to call them only for them to never answer. A disgrace
Fantastic experience: Been waiting 4 weeks for an appointment got straight through to 111 who told me to go there and they removed my tooth highly recommended them and the staff are brilliant and lovely
Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing. The students watched over by their supervisors produce a first class service. The NHS might be in chaos but order and detailed attention reigns here. The extraction was done perfectly and 4 days later no pain. Cannot praise them highly enough. I would be perfectly happy to pay them for dental work as you would a normal dentist
Fantastic experience: Staff were great. Thank god for this emergency hospital.
Fantastic experience: Had my right lower molar removed on Thursday by two lovely young ladies. Very professional and very reassuring during the whole process. An absolute credit to their profession.
Fantastic experience: Had my little one there today for teeth out under general anaesthetic and I have to say what a fantastic job they all did of making us feel at ease from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, there was not one single tear from my son and to say he was so nervous and apprehensive it being his first medical procedure, I really think this will have a life long positive impression for any future troubles he may have, just as we always remember the bad I’m sure he will never forget this good experience, absolutely fantastic to each and everyone we dealt with today. THANK YOU!
Fantastic experience: Honestly, great NHS service. All staff so lovely, from receptionists, nurses and consultant. Llace was spotlessly clean and I felt informed and relaxed for the little procedure. I has a wisdom tooth removed, swiftly, felt fine but felt a little wobbly and shaky on my way out.. luckily, a random nurse saw me and acted so promptly and with such good grace and care. Great nursing, so kind and calming. Thanks to all. Great job ❤
Fantastic experience: SMILEY FACES, CARING NHS SERVICE Small car park space But on the road lots of space to park your car and cost you £3.60 2 hours Same apply hospital car park There is mini shop outside hospital and sell snacks etc. Entrance reception very friendly and straight forward There is toilet and they also offer free water down to hall way, you just help you self My all experience was amazing All nhs staff they do best to help you. Thank you
Fantastic experience: They take utmost care of you and really dedicate their time. I went in with pain in my bottom incisors. I had pain in the tooth since may last year, and booked a 111 appointment in January this year. The appointment was given the same day and a final year dental student Cameron took a look at my tooth, got xray done and advised me how to go forward. Only the emergency appointment was long and alot of waiting for xray and being seen by the dentist. However within next 3 weeks they gave me the next appointment and performed root canal on the tooth, and in the next 2-3 months had few check up appointments to make sure the tooth was 100% okay, and in my final appointment in May this year they filled in my tooth and mentioned to come back if any pain / issue in the tooth. Cameron did an AMAZING job and all the dentists and nurses there took care to put me at ease and check everything each step of the way. I wish Cameron all the best and I am sure he'll be an amazing dentist once he starts practice officially. I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Thank you so much for taking such good care of me!
Fantastic experience: Suffered with toothache for months due to a broken tooth , 1 lot of antibiotics last week due to an abscess, got an appointment early this morning through 111 , I was petrified I hate the dentist Rebecca was amazing numbed me and removed the tooth , home within couple of hours
Fantastic experience: Maybe it’s because they are students, but the dentists here are more thorough than my own dental practice. Had extreme pain couldn’t sleep and my dentist couldn’t figure out what was wrong and just assumed it was him related and gave antibiotics. Had to go here out of desperation and they checked everything. Couldn’t see what was wrong at first, but then looked closer at the 2nd X-ray they did and figured it may be related to a really old filling. With consent, root canal was done and the pain went away instantly. Days of pain gone in a matter of a few hours. Couldn’t thank them enough. Honestly these people are a life saver.
Fantastic experience: Been struggling to find an NHS dentist for over a year so I decided I would opt to have treatment done by a dental student, in all honesty I was really nervous but I found Georgie to have such a calming nature about him, so that really helped. We all have to learn some where so I'd really recommend it !!
Negative experience: got referred to dental hospital in 2020 for impacted wisdom tooth they sent me home telling me it was the tooth next to it that needed extracted so I went to my own dentist had it removed even though my own dentist said it was not the issue, only for me to be back in pain 2 days later with the same issue, so not only did I have a tooth removed that never needed removing Im now waiting yet again on there waiting lists been 3 months, but over year and a half in pain since my last visit to the dental hospital so far been on 5 courses antibiotics in less then 2 months and multiple courses for the past year, just called them today for them to tell me too use 111, used 111 been told not to use them as its my dentists job, my dentist has told me nothing they can do its the dental hospital that can only remove it. I yet again have swelling on my face, cant swallow, my throat is closing and no one is willing to help me. Its inhumane to leave a patient in so much pain with constant infections for so long.
Fantastic experience: Excellent
Fantastic experience: Excellent staff really professional
Fantastic experience: **Absolutely Outstanding Service and Treatment (Children's Dept)** My son (age 8) was referred to the children's department for a decaying tooth, his SEN issues meant we were dubious about how he would cope with its removal at our normal dentist. We spoke to a dentist over the phone, who listened to the issues, gave advice and reassured us it wasn't urgent but that an appointment would be sent out. A few weeks later we received this, and when we rang to confirm our attendance, they warned me to bring something to entertain my son as we may be there a few hours. Parking was a touch tricky (leave plenty of time), but we were in and out- including two consultations and x-rays in just over an hour. I was actually saddened to hear that the reason it was so quick is because many don't attend. I'd just like to reassure those who may be hesitant that the staff are warm, friendly and professional and the experience was a very positive one for my son. We met with Dr Armugam, I was so impressed that she actually remembered that it was her who had spoken to us on the phone weeks earlier and remembered the specifics of the SEN needs of my son. She was brilliant at making him feel calm and answering his many, many questions and making him feel engaged and empowered in the choices of treatment available to him, in child friendly language. We all agreed next steps together (removal of the tooth with 'happy gas') and Finn even signed his own consent signature on the procedure form. He left with a smile, a Star Wars sticker and feeling really confident about returning.
Fantastic experience: I got referred after calling 111 They phoned back at 08:45 with an appointment for 10:00. 3 hours later, all finished, broken tooth removed, free of charge £3.60 for parking. Caring, considerate, professional. Excellent service.

Fantastic experience: I have been going here for the last year. I've always feared going to the dentist due to bad past experiences but here it is different The student that I see is called Callum Heys and he is absolutely brilliant! A kind and thoughtful lad who always gave me plenty of helpful tips and reassurance when I was feeling not so confident. Callum always made me aware of what treatment I was about to receive which is important if you want your patient to feel more at ease. This lads mannerisms will help him be very successful in life and he will be able to stop alot of people being fearful when going to the dentist with his positive attitude! I wish him all the best for the future. Good luck Callum and thank you for helping me!
Fantastic experience: Was unable to get an appointment at my own dentist for four weeks so called Dental Hospital who saw me next day . Brilliant care and service by all staff
Fantastic experience: Lovely friendly staff very covid safe
Fantastic experience: Absolute lifesavers! Called 111 at 4am after suffering the most horrendous tooth/gum ache. Was contacted at 6am by a lovely lady from the NHS who asked for some info and booked me in for an appointment at 1pm (on Saturday) I was seen by a lovely lady named Emma who put me at ease straight away, I told her I’d been up all night and she injected me with some mouth numbing solution and told me to have a kip haha, I was given 2 options for treatment after having an X-ray and walked out 10 minutes later with an extraction. 4hrs later still pain free. Would love for her to be my permanent dentist! Thank goodness for our NHS!
Fantastic experience: Absolute stars thank you so much for all your help Had 2 weeks of agony could not get in any local dentist as they were not taking on new nhs patients!! Most wanted £50 over the phone before I could get a appointment during lockdown got into dental hospital via 111 amazing experience from them all .. will be calling down to thank them in person in next few days
Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing staff and students, so friendly and welcoming, put me straight at ease knowing how much a nervous patient I am. Explained everything step by step and always made sure I was ok. They go above and beyond
Positive experience: Was will organised. Would've preferred to have my x-ray followed by a consultancy appointment on the same day rather than wait for another couple of months.
Fantastic experience: I was referred there today after a 111 call for extreme toothache, I was in, xrayed twice, tooth extracted within a few hours. Amazing friendly people, put me at ease, very supportive. Had a wonderful student named Matthew who did an incredible job. Thank you all
Fantastic experience: They are a lifesaver, brilliant staff excellent service.
Fantastic experience: Limited parking, I used rvi multi storey car park which is easily accessible. Give yourself plenty of time to get parked as all car parks and on road parking is very busy. Staff in dental hospital are good at putting you at ease. Appointment was on time.
Fantastic experience: First class experience at the emergency dental hospital today. The dentist, highly competent student dentists and dental nurse provided outstanding care to an extremely nervous patient. Very grateful for their care for what could have been a traumatic experience.
