Fantastic experience: I first visited House of Smiles and Dr. Corina in 2022 after cracking a tooth, my first trip to the dentist in over 15 years! I was absolutely terrified, but Dr. Corina made me feel so comfortable and safe in her care. Since then, I’ve been coming regularly and that fear I once had has just about disappeared. Now 3 years since my first visit I’ve just finished my Invisalign treatment and couldn’t be happier with the results. Dr. Corina isn’t just your regular dentist. Negative experience: Response from Melis I am disappointed to read the above reply, as it contains several inaccuracies about my visit and my behaviour. For clarity: My appointment was booked for a cleaning and two fillings, but the fillings were not carried out. I underwent two cleaning procedures on the same day, the second of which left me in significant pain and with bleeding gums. At no point was I aggressive or disrespectful. My review was written to share my genuine experience as a patient, not out of “revenge.” I stand by my feedback because I believe patients have a right to make informed choices about their care. I hope this clarifies my position. I have a dentist that I have been going to for years you are making false claim of me wanting to return as a patient this is terrible and unprofessional as this isnt true just because your staff accidently overbooked that day you wasnt able to do two of my fillings. After the lady cleaning my teeth you took me to your room which I thought you was going to do my fillings you cleaned my teeth again on purposely made them bleed and damaged my gums I told you I was in pain you said I will Not be able to do your fillings as they are bleeding I was very upset you walked on me next to your staff I wasnt even able to talk because of what you done to me you are lieing about the whole thing and this is very dangerous !!! I will be definitely logging a formal GDC complaint !! Also the reason why I am writing this review is your receptionist has been calling wanting to book me in for a routine checkup several times I have told them I wasnt happy with your service thats why I wont book. Making false claims that I want to return you must be joking, I wasn’t even able to communicate with you as there is a language barrier you are a dentist but cant even speak properly english !!!!

We are sorry to hear that you feel this way. However , we welcome this opportunity to clarify some important details regarding your visit to our practice.
Our records show that you were only seen once for a check up and a basic cleaning procedure, which you insisted on having, actually demanded to have at the same time despite explaining that this is typically performed by a hygienist, not the dentist. While I did our best to accommodate your request, you later disputed the charge with your bank, falsely claiming the service was not provided—despite having received the full treatment.
We also wish to note that, in over seven years of serving our patients at House of Smiles, you are the only individual who has been asked to leave the practice. This was due to repeated aggressive and disrespectful behaviour , which we cannot and do not tolerate.
Me and my team work hard to provide a safe, respectful, and professional environment for all patients and absolutely love our jobs and our patients .
For you to imply that I did something wrong when you literally had no treatment with me and that you are still suffering and choosing to leave a google review instead of logging an official complaint proofs my point . This is just a revenge review and the only reason why you wrote it one year after is due to the fact that you were denied access to our services more recently , hoping that we somehow forgot the event miraculously.

Negative experience: I visited your clinic last year for a hygiene appointment and informed both the receptionist and the dentist in advance that I had bonding on my lower front teeth. I specifically asked whether the procedure would affect the bonding, and was assured by both that it would not. I made it clear that I would not proceed if there was any risk of the bonding being removed. However, after the procedure, the dentist handed me a mirror and I was shocked to see that all the bonding had been removed. When I raised my concern, she calmly said it was fine and that she could fix it. She then reapplied bonding to close the gap, but also implied that the issue wasn’t her responsibility because the bonding was over a year old—despite my clear communication beforehand. Once I returned home, I noticed the new bonding was a noticeably darker shade than my natural teeth, giving the appearance of plaque buildup. While the hygiene treatment itself was excellent, I was disappointed by the lack of accountability and the outcome of the bonding repair

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed with part of your experience, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify.
Our records show that at the time of your hygiene visit you did informed us that you were concerned of your existing bonding and we did noted that some of it was suboptimal to begin with and although we took care to proceed with caution, as was explained, bonding material—particularly if done over a year ago—can degrade or detach naturally over time, especially if not originally placed under ideal isolation conditions.
When it became clear that some of the bonding had come away, we offered to repair it immediately, free of charge, as a courtesy. While we’re sorry that the colour match did not meet your expectations ( fact that we only find out about now and through this review ) we would have appreciated if this was brought to the attention of our management immediately after the treatment took place . It is important however to note that we cannot be held responsible for the condition or stability of work that was carried out elsewhere and no matter how gentle the clean is carried out if the bonding is poor this will happen regardless of who is the provider . This is not a matter or expertise , is simply a bonding defect of the restorations . Good quality restorations should not be easily chipping or falling out which was the case here.
Our aim is always to be transparent, accommodating, and fair. We’re glad to hear you found the hygiene treatment itself excellent, and we’re sorry the bonding outcome affected your overall impression.
We wish you all the best in your future dental care but if you wish to return into our care we would be very happy to help you to ameliorate the aspect of the restoration in cause .

Fantastic experience: As a person who is quite nervous to go to the dentist I hadn’t been since moving to London 3 years ago. I was recommended to visit Dr Corina, and I can only sing her praises, she was so welcoming and friendly and really put me at ease in the chair. She had a lot of time for me and explained everything that she was doing and was very gentle which is something that helped my nerves disappear. The practice is conveniently located on Green Lanes and is super clean and beautiful inside. Dr Corina offers a number of different services to suit every client to get the best out of your smile. Fantastic experience: I have been going to this practice for quite some time and can't recommend it enough. My past experiences were not great, growing up teeth were treated without any anaesthesia, I experienced some questionable practices, I used to faint every single time, and had anxiety issues at the dentist's office. So my teeth were in a really bad shape, I did not visit dentists regularly. I had broken fillings, broken teeth, heavy misalignment, wear and tear from grinding, clenching, really yellow teeth. I could never imagine that my teeth would look good. Dr Corina Mocanu's team did wonders. It is an extremely friendly practice, and they care about the teeth. The whole team is absolutely amazing. Dr Corina didn't just go for the most expensive treatment, she stayed on the conservative side, she talked me out of some of my crazy ideas(aka veneers) and the teeth look amazing! They did a few crowns for me where it was absolutely necessary(aka a tooth was broken up to the gumline), making sure they fit perfectly. She removed a wisdom tooth(and what tooth it was!), aligned teeth with invisalign, I visited a hygienist and that was a good experience. I whitened teeth, we did some naturally looking edge bonding to fix chips and wear from grinding. The smile has completely transformed, I actually learn how to smile now. I totally recommend this practice and will be going there in the future.

Negative experience: Waste of Time, I paid 80 for a private appointment to start the process for Teeth bonding. I was the last app of the day and you were 20 minutes behind schedule. It felt a rushed visit and no real care for me and what I wanted done. The email plan they sent over was unsatisfactory and there has been no follow-up calls to ask me how it went. Not a good process at all.

Unfortunately, due to some technical issues with our business profile , I was unable to respond to your feedback sooner . Please accept my apologies for the delay, as well as for the experience you had during your visit.
Running behind schedule is not ideal, and I understand how this can make an appointment feel rushed. We regret to learn that you did not liked the plan. I would be very curious to know from which perspective you think the had not been satisfactory . Is it the price ? the lack of alternative options? You did say that you came in wanting composite bonding so most likely you had a quote for that procedure .
The lack of follow-up is also noted and I can ensure you that it is our usual practice to pay a courtesy call post visit to most patients. However we find that some patients like and even expect that ,whilest others are bothered and want to be left to decide for themselves so it is a very personal prefference.
With regards to the charges - we do not usually charge for our cosmetic consults but if you had specifically requested to be booked in urgently via our emergency service and did not wanted to wait - our emergency fees cost is £90 , but not sure why you say you had paid £80 .
I would appreciate the opportunity to clarify this and if you think the check up had not been satisfactory I am very happy to credit your account with this amount for you to benefit from a complimentary clean or other treatment of your choice.

Fantastic experience: Everyone was incredibly helpful, got an appointment booked in on my first visit. I was presented with lots of information for what i wanted, including payment options and plans. Edit: now that i have completed my treatment, i can say that Dr. Corina and the team are absolutely incredible - responsive, communicative and transparent. Negative experience: I recently switched to a different local dentist over a year ago and wanted to share my experience. I initially had an appointment at House of Smiles, where they recommended replacing approximately eight existing fillings, which would have cost over £1200 in my first checkup. As someone who had just moved to the area in search of a new dentist, I was taken aback by this recommendation. However, I decided to seek a second opinion and found an NHS dentist who not only offered more affordable options but also displayed a genuine approach to my dental needs. This dentist assessed my situation and found that only one filling needed replacing, and interestingly, it was the very last one that House of Smiles was going to replace on their plan for my teeth. This is a strange way of prioritising dental procedures. I'm relieved that I didn't proceed with House of Smiles because what was suggested from them did not benefit either dental health or help cosmetically. Additionally, I had a hygienist appointment at House of Smiles, which I found to be rushed. After switching to a different dentist, I had a more cost-effective hygienist appointment that was also more thorough, resulting in tangibly better oral health. While House of Smiles may cater to those with greater financial flexibility, it's crucial to consider that their approach may prioritize short-term procedures. In contrast, modern dental practices prioritize conservative, long-term dental care strategies that maximize oral health and overall well-being, while minimising replacements/changes for the sake of it. Summary: unnecessary procedures, sales tactics, rushed appointments, subpar results.

We’re sorry to hear that your experience at House of Smiles did not meet your expectations, and we would like to offer some clarification regarding your concerns.
Firstly, we would like to correct a couple of factual inaccuracies mentioned in your review. After a thorough examination both clinically and radiographically our records indicate that we recommended treatment for seven early caries and old suboptimal restorations that presented sign of leakage , not eight as you mentioned. Additionally, the proposed cost per filling was £130, resulting in a total estimate of £910, significantly less than the £1200 stated.
Regarding your concerns about the necessity and sequence of the proposed treatments, we always strive to present patients with a transparent and preventive approach, prioritizing their long-term oral health. This includes offering minimally invasive alternatives where appropriate.
In your case, our approach followed the gold standards : we had attempted remineralising your lesions prescribing you with a 3 month course of Duraphat (a high fluoride remineralization treatment) prior to any restorative work, in an effort to attempt remineralization and slow progression of early lesions. We also provided a written treatment plan, outlining that these lesions need to be reviewed in 3 months first and then managed over time, rather than suggesting they all needed immediate intervention like you are suggesting .
We understand that seeking a second opinion can offer reassurance, and we fully support patients making informed decisions that feel right for them. Dentistry is a field where different practitioners may take slightly different approaches based on their clinical assessment, experience, and the patient’s preferences. Some patients would want to have preventative treatment like clean and seal early cavities with floride realising composite - like the treatment we suggested - whilest others will choose to monitor. There is no right or wrong as long as the patient is carefully monitored overtime but of course that rarely happens and I find that the cause of most dental issues patients come with is that they are usually under- diagnosed and undertreated . We would never suggest treatment unless we believe it to be in the patient’s best interest.
Regarding your hygiene visit, we are sorry if it felt rushed. Our hygiene team is dedicated to providing high-quality care, and we would have welcomed your feedback at the time to address your concerns immediately.

Fantastic experience: Very welcoming clinic. The staff is lovely and always helpful. I got my treatments explained verbally and received a written copy of it which was very straightforward for me to remember it all if I would forget and any questions I had they were answered straight away. Fantastic experience: I went and had a root canal treatment, I was quite anxious and nervous about going to the dentist due to my past bad experiences, however, after having the procedure done I felt so much better.
