Boyds Dental Practice

Fantastic experience: Rang a week ago in agony crying down phone begging for an appointment. Was fitted in same day thankfully. Had a hole in my tooth causing me to be in agony, booked me in for following week. Had it out today, I was so nervous and scared but I did great. All helped me and made me feel calm and told me exactly what they were doing! Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: As an adult that's terrified of the dentist and avoided visits i found the staff to be so understanding and patient with me! And the appointment couldn't have gone better! It was my first time at boyds but it won't be my last! Thank you to the whole team for today

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Boyd’s dentist for years after swapping my son from another dentist. My son is quite nervous at the dentist and Boyd makes him feel at ease! All the staff are always so friendly and go out of their way to make sure you feel relaxed. Had work done today and have made me feel like me again. Couldn’t recommend this dentist enough

Fantastic experience: Dr Boyd is a fantastic dentist. He is really experienced, knowledgeable, professional and very friendly; at every appointment he has made my son (8 yrs old) feel so at ease so quickly and had him laughing away any anxiety. My son also had more cavities than he should have had at his age and Dr Boyd got that message across very clearly without being unkind which is not a very common experience at every dentist. Every dental nurse we have seen there have also always been very friendly and helpful. Glad we found this dental practice.

Fantastic experience: I recently changed to this practice and have had two appointments with Fatima, a lovely lady. All the staff, receptionist, dental nurses and dentist are really friendly and helpful. Having previously had a dentist who spent every appointment pointing out the errors in previous dental work and how painful a failing tooth would be to remove I became quite anxious, so much so my daughter recommended I try Boyds, What a difference, everyone is so helpful and Fatima gave me confidence that whatever treatment is needed, it wouldn't be a problem. I would highly recommend this practice and Fatima Chris Flathers

Fantastic experience: We have been attending Boyd’s Dentist approx 7years and both my children attend with ease. The practice is so friendly, upbeat and welcoming which helps the normal nerves of visiting the dentist, along with being clean and tidy. Always helpful and very understanding of the children’s needs, as well as guiding them through their nerves and offer recommendations to keep our teeth clean and healthy. As a parent I would highly recommend Boyd’s and the team.

Fantastic experience: Dr Boyd is amazing! My 8 year old son has had 2 teeth removed today after being in pain for a week. He was understandably scared but Dr Boyd managed to keep him calm and relaxed. I’d even go as far as saying entertained. He managed to make it into a magic trick , my son was genuinely surprised when he was handed his teeth in an envelope! My son walked out confident and happy with the whole experience. I came for help as my own dentist wouldn’t help me out. Mr Ian Boyd (dentist) stepped in as my crown fell out at and left me with a gap in front tooth. The receptionist and dentist was outstanding. I can’t thank them both enough. What a great dentist.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant dentist. Ian has alot of time and patience for his customers. All my family have been going to this practise since his Dad Martin worked here. My 80 year old Dad has also been a loyal customer . Today Dad complained of toothache, we went to see Ian and he squeezed Dad into his busy schedule. Very pleased and happy with the service. All the staff are very friendly. Such a wonderful team. Well done Ian . highly recommended.

My son age 7 had his front tooth removed today he was very scared but all the staff (especially mr Boyd) made him feel very relaxed and comfortable.. the practice is very clean , friendly and gives off a very homely feel, both my children love visiting here. We haven’t been at this practice very long but since been here my children have improved brushing their teeth and like to impress the dentist each time we visit ! The dentist and staff are very patient with the children and I find that brilliant as a parent they make the visit personal to them . Would definitely recommend this dentist.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic dentist been with the practice for over 40 years from farther to son. The staff always make you feel comfortable and got appointments when I've had problems with my teeth and Mr Boyd always explains the the procedure to me which makes me feel relaxed.

Giving me back my smile. The dental assistants were all very kind, attentive and reassuring. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I have been at this dentist since I was a little girl and I’ve never been scared of the dentist because of him. I left home, left Leeds got married and had two kids. We all come back to this dentist. We moved to Germany for a year and a half and I had a horrible experience with a dentist. Came back to the UK and forgot how much I missed this dentist he put me at ease straight away despite being scared of having my teeth looked at because of my horrid experience. I have a daughter who has autism and he is brilliant with her and my son. He puts them at ease and they are excited about seeing him each time.

Fantastic experience: Had a major phobia of dentists for my whole life but I had to sort my teeth out as they wasn’t getting any better so I went to my wife’s dentist and went privately as there wasn’t any chance of a NHS dentist so went spoke to Ian Boyd the dentist there he put me at so much ease and now I have the best dentures that I have ever seen they look amazing better than I ever thought they would look so now my phobia wouldn’t say has gone but I’m more comfortable going now totally recommend this dentist and have every confidence in going back thank you for making my life a lot better

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Boyd's since a I was a child and would not think of going anywhere else for dental care. I've just today had an extraction and, although visibly terrified, the staff here helped me feel at ease and made sure I was okay. No matter the procedure, big or small, they will make sure you have a chuckle and leave with a smile. Remember, you don't have to brush all of your teeth - just the ones you want to keep!

Fantastic experience: My children have been with Dr Boyd since they cut their first teeth and I can honestly say I would not let them go to anyone but him. He is calming and so wonderful with them. My son (7) had to have a filling today and he was so nervous. Dr Boyd was amazing with my son talking him through everything and putting him at ease. He had gas and a local aesthetic which I think made all the difference to the ease of getting the filling done. I could not recommend Dr Boyd or his lovely staff enough.

Fantastic experience: I would give the dentist and staff another star if I could my children have been with this dentist now for over a year and had 2 appointments with the dentist the dentist is so lovely I cannot fault him every appointment he has my children smiling and laughing which is amazing as my daughter who is 10 is terrified of dentists due to a bad experience with another dentist a few years ago safe to say I am so happy I registered my children here my daughter doesn’t dread going to dental appointments anymore hopefully fingers crossed I can get myself registered here when there books open up again

She was sedated very calmly with the nose gas and air with no distress at all to My daughter , he managed to numb her mouth and remove her tooth without her even realising . My kids all love visiting their dentist , very good with making their experience fun . I’ve been going here since I was a child myself . Highly recommend !

Fantastic experience: My son has just been for a filling this morning he was very scared, but the dentist was amazing with him spoke to him all the time explained each step and helped keep him calm. So glad I got my kids in this dentist all the staff are so nice.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my children go to this dentist and I can’t recommend them enough, I’m private and my children are NHS, any problems other than check ups and they’ve always got me in and sorted the issue straight away. The staff are very friendly and calming and amazing with the kids. My son had an emergency appointment and they got him in the same day and then he had to go back to get a tooth pulled out, he was very nervous and scared but Boyd made him laugh and smile all throughout his procedure which made him relax more and he said he didn’t even notice his tooth had already been pulled out.

Fantastic experience: My daughter needed a molar pulling, on arrival she was very nervous. Straight away the dentist put her at ease, cracking jokes and making her laugh. It made the appointment a lot easier. Highly recommend

I was nervous about my son having one of his teeth pulled but Mr boyd was brilliant and my son didn't even realise he had even pulled his tooth out. Excellent Happy child happy mum. Negative experience: Despite being registered with them, this practice refused to allow me to book a treatment for a cavity. They insisted I came in two separate appointments, and I believe this is purely so they could charge me the usual appointment fee twice. Back in January, they refused to offer me anything sooner than July and the dentist, knowing I am a teacher, told me I had to skip work for it if I wanted it sooner. As a teacher, I obviously cannot “skip” work. The dentist himself is very strange. As he said this to me, he came up behind me at the reception desk and squeezed my shoulders from behind, which took me by surprise and felt very unprofessional. When I first registered his first questions to me were where I had gone to university and what I had studied, even though he can see in my records from my age that uni is well in my past. When I answered he became very competitive about it and told me that he had been much more successful in life than me because he earns a lot more money - so apparently my degree was a waste. He was really amusing himself by the idea that he is a huge success with lots of money. Given their tactics of forcing double appointments on people with simple cavities, I’m not surprised he is so fabulously rich. Very creepy man, draining people of their money like this. Finding a different dentist who is professional, charges fairly, and actually fixed my cavity was a huge relief. This place is very unpleasant and I recommend going elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I called up on Monday with an incredibly painful tooth and jaw ache, I was given an emergency appointment the next day. I needed a tooth removing which he booked me in for the very next day. The tooth extraction was painless and, as always, I received fantastic service from Ian and the team. He is just amazing makes the kiddies feel so amazing my son was nervous.. and seriously as soon as he laid down he was not.. he needed a tooth out and had a big absess Dentist got my son in today when I rang up afternoon on Monday!!! Absolutely fantastic, honestly I'd recommend 10000%. Plus..kids get fab stickers!! And I'm sure if you asked nicely as an adult and you was brave you would get one also My son had the gas and Air and wow what a fantastic thing for dentists to have was over and done with in around 4 minutes. Fantastic experience: All 3 of my girls enjoy going to the dentist because he's great at making them feel at ease. My eldest (15) recently had 2 teeth pulled & was terrified......absolutely no need!! She didn't even know anything had been done. She couldn't feel the needles firstly. Then, after literally seconds of being in the chair, her teeth were being put into an envelope to take home for the tooth fairy ‍♀️ 5 definitely
