Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at Elmsleigh House Dental Clinic for approximately the last 25- 30 years. I can honestly say that Elmlsleigh House is without a shadow of a doubt the finest dental clinic in the whole world. The names of staff I couldmention is endless. Suffice to say that each and every Team member are truly amazing beyond words. From the Welcome Team to the dental surgeons, I have absolutley zero hesitation in recommending Elmsleigh House. A special thanks to Cathleen my dentist, Kit Spears who recently extracted a tooth, Hugh Cowley who has previously taken out another tooth. Everythning has been pain free. Negative experience: Was made to feel like a second class citizen. Unhelpful and refused to give any advance information ahead of the consultation. Would highly recommend training your staff to treat human beings with kindness and compassion when they feel vulnerable and upset about what’s going on medically. Very unimpressed, have since gone elsewhere and they were lovey and very apologetic for other dental practices who began fe this way.

Fantastic experience: I suffered a sudden collapse to a problematic lower molar with half of my tooth just disintegrating. I was thankful that Cathleen Perry at Elmsleigh House was able to see me within 24 hours to provide a temporary repair. Although temporary, this restored full functionality and feel until she was able to make the job permanent some weeks later on my return from holiday. Although I was very pleased with the temporary work, the final result, which required some 90 minutes in the chair is an incredibly good job for feel, bite and aesthetics. It is as if I have never had an issue with this tooth. Cathleen, set out the various options together with a recommendation at the outset, which provided me with confidence that the tooth could be successfully recovered, without the need for root canal work or more invasive procedures.

Fantastic experience: I recently had a dental implant treatment with Dr. Kit Spears and wanted to share my experience. Despite facing a chronic infection around a natural tooth that required a bone graft, Dr. Kit provided exceptional care with great attention to detail. She’s thorough, gentle, and genuinely cares about your comfort and dental health. The whole team is attentive and professional, making every visit a positive one. Routine exams with Cathleen have also been fantastic—she's friendly, meticulous, and always makes you feel at ease.

Fantastic experience: I avoided the dentist for most of my adult life, but after a recommendation from my sister-in-law, I finally booked an appointment at Elmsleigh—and I’m so glad I did. From the very first visit, the team was incredibly welcoming, kind, and reassuring. They explained everything clearly and treated me with care and gentleness. Since then, I’ve been successfully treated for severe gum disease (thank you, Manoj!), and now regularly see the fantastic hygienist Adrienne and dentist Olivia. I also completed a transformative treatment plan with Kostas that restored my smile beyond what I thought possible. And when one tooth couldn’t be saved, Kit provided a perfect implant that looks and feels completely natural. I can’t recommend the Elmsleigh team highly enough. Their professionalism, compassion, and skill have truly changed my life—and my smile!

Fantastic experience: Katrina - today I had my first hygienist appt with Katrina. I’m not a fan of hygiene appointments as I usually find them very uncomfortable and a bit transactional . Today was an unexpected positive experience. Katrina’s skill at patient rapport building put me at ease and her gentle approach giving me lots of breaks was just brilliant. Not to mention the great sense of humour! I am a fan and will not dread my next appointment for the first time ever!!

Fantastic experience: Hugh listens to you very patiently and answers every single question you might have about the surgery ahead of the time. On the day of surgery, he made it his mission to explain every step of the way in great detail and in such a serene manner which eliminated all my anxiety. Consequently, despite walking into my implant surgery feeling anxious and uncertain, I was very quickly put at ease and left with a big smile on my face. Fantastic experience: If a visit to the dentist can be "good" then this was it. Over the last 6 months I have had what I would consider to be some heavy duty implant work done, spread across a number of phases/visits. I can only say that it was made a lot easier to manage than it could have been, through the professionalism and care shown by Hugh Cowley, his practice assistants and the reception team at Elmsleigh Dental. Through first class communication I was kept constantly informed of the treatment plan and how it was progressing from beginning to successful completion. I would thoroughly recommend this clinic for its overall 5 star service.

Olivia has helped me so much with fixing my hypoplastic teeth with whitening and composite bonding. I’ve had countless compliments on my smile ever since. She is one of the nicest people and really cares about helping her patients by prioritizing using less invasive techniques. I no longer feel the need to cover my mouth when I laugh anymore, thank you Olivia.

Fantastic experience: Recently it became necessary for me to have an extraction due to a cracked tooth. I have not needed any dental treatment apart from the annual check up and occasional hygiene appointment. Therefore, having what would be a rather difficult extraction and subsequent implant surgery was rather daunting. I am pleased to say I had no need to be concerned. The extraction and implant surgery was carried out by Hugh. It was totally painless and, even though difficult, it was done in a calm, professional and reassuring way. I could not have been in better hands. The restorative work was carried out by Cathleen. I am quite an awkward patient with a terrible gag reflex. She was very patient with me, making the whole process very straight forward. I am so happy with the finished implant and can't praise Hugh and Cathleen along with the nurses and staff enough. Certainly a 5 Star service.

Fantastic experience: I honestly don't know how to explain how fantastic a dental experience I had with Elmsleigh... From start to finish the team are polite, empathetic, and professional. I am a nervous patient and Louise immediately put me at ease whilst handling my call and provided me with all of the information I could have asked for. I required an urgent appointment and I was fortunate enough to be accommodated on the same day (won't always be possible). On the clinical side Hugh and Sophie were an incredible team, I cannot say thank you enough... Skilled absolutely, but Hugh's reassurance and explanations throughout were ideal and matched perfectly to what I personally needed on the day. Go to the dentist with confidence with Elmsleigh. I will be taking my family there also, five stars never more well deserved.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at Elmsleigh House dental clinic for 6 years now and even though I now live on the Isle of Wight, it is still worth the travel up. My general dentist is Cathleen. She has transformed my smile with Cfast alignment (which took 6months and would highly recommend) and whitening and I am so happy with the result. I wasn’t a confident patient but Cathleen is so caring, friendly, professional and honest she makes me feel relaxed. I have also had 3 wisdom teeth removed with Hugh, who the same as Cathleen is professional, caring and talented. I would highly recommend Elmsleigh House to anyone, I always know I’m in the BEST hands of the business. I can’t thank them enough.

Fantastic experience: My family have been attending the Elmsleigh House Dental Clinic for the past 22 years. We have received the best care we could wish for, from regular checkups to crowns, microscopic root canals and orthodontics. Nobody in our family is ‘afraid of dentist’ because Cathleen our dentist has worked with each of us specifically and all treatments were of exceptional quality, using only the best materials and modern facilities. The clinic has a welcoming ‘spa’ like allure with outstanding cleanliness and very polite and patient receptionists. Gillian the hygienist has been applying the most up to date techniques (for 20 years) and Costa, the orthodontist did almost the impossible for my daughter’s misaligned teeth. I must specify the out of hours email and phone suport that has been so comforting to use. Thank you everyone at Elmsleigh Dental Clinic.

Fantastic experience: I am a nervous patient, however my experience of Elmsleigh Dental care is extremely positive. The warm reception from the front desk team relaxes me, and the treatment I have received from Hugh Cowley has been amazing. Appointments are always on time, and I can honestly say I have not felt any pain at all during treatment for an implant. Everything is explained and aftercare support is also fabulous.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Elmsleigh House Dental Clinic for many years now and highly recommend it. I first saw Cathleen for some cosmetic dentistry and was so impressed with her attention to detail I have stayed with her ever since. She works hard to ensure you get the result you want and is so kind and sensible in her approach to dentistry. Whilst you need to book well ahead, Adrienne is a fantastic Hygienist and worth the wait. All the staff here are helpful and friendly and the waiting area is clean and welcoming which makes going to the dentist a more pleasant experience. There are other options locally but I don’t think I could beat the service I receive here.

Fantastic experience: The team at Elmsleigh House have had such a profound impact on me it’s hard to overstate. The patience and expertise from Hugh has helped me with a long-term plan to get my oral health back from a place of neglect; as a very nervous patient he really took the time to get me settled and found ways to manage my anxiety. Somayeh was able to recover a failed root canal treatment that was done elsewhere and save my tooth, helping me feel relaxed and calm throughout the procedure following which Hugh then rebuilt the tooth. Adrienne has transformed my dental hygiene and has changed me from someone who has never managed to get through a hygienist appointment to someone who goes every 6 months. She’s absolutely fantastic at what she does and puts you completely at ease. Finally, Kostas’ expertise and skill has given me a completely new smile through my Spark aligner treatment that I’ve almost completed. Overall, the whole team at Elmsleigh House, from the second you walk into reception to the treatment I’ve received, have been brilliant and professional and I can’t thank them enough.

Fantastic experience: Apart from the treatment itself, I rather enjoyed the whole experience. I was made welcome from the moment I arrived by a cheerful and amenable receptionist. I was however, particularly impressed by Somayeh and her assistant, Sophie. Throughout, they maintained a crucial balance of professionalism and informality that was encouraging considering the unpleasant (and intrusive) nature of the treatment. From start to finish they demonstrated a commitment to both my physical comfort and a clear willingness to listen to any concerns I might have. I suppose the most telling praise is that I was initially dreading the event, but following my treatment I have no qualms as regards the necessary follow-up procedure. Although I won't be taking root-canal treatment up as a hobby, suffice to say the experience was relatively stress-free.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to the Elmsleigh House Dental Clinic by my old dental practice and could not be happier with the outstanding treatment I received from Hugh Cowley at this lovely, friendly practice. This involved very extensive bone grafting to build up bone in an area where I previously had a badly broken root, as well as an impacted tooth removed. I was referred to Hugh due to his expertise in dealing with difficult and challenging cases, which mine certainly was. My hope was that following bone restoration he might be able to place one implant, possibly even two, in my upper jaw and I am delighted to say that I am now the extremely happy owner of two new fixed teeth. In fact, the result has exceeded any hopes I had before I visited Elmsleigh House for the first time and I want to thank Hugh wholeheartedly for his brilliant work, for being so empathetic and for making the whole journey such a great experience from start to finish. I really can’t recommend Hugh highly enough!

Fantastic experience: I fear dentists but Olivia took that fear away by explaining and communicating all the way through the process, talked me into having the needed second filling at the same time as the first thus saving another appointment and some cash too… worried about after effects when the pain relief wore off but was totally unfounded as didn’t even notice..the before and after pictures are a first on me and also shows how good a job they do…won’t be as worried in 6 months time at my next check up ☺️

Fantastic experience: Being completely terrified of going to the dentist I decided I finally had to do something about my missing teeth and was referred to Elmsleigh House and thank goodness I was. I first saw Bill for partial dentures which is what I thought I needed. He had a good look at my teeth and took moulds and he then suggested I saw Hugh for a more detailed look at my teeth. It soon became clear that all of my remaining teeth were in some way loose. Hugh was extremely friendly and explained all my options in a very gentle manner and after a long discussion I took a big gulp and agreed that it would be better in the end if I had all my remaining teeth removed and replaced with full dentures to save multiple visits when more came out. I decided to go with IV sedation for the op and it could not have been smoother sailing. When I came round I had a full set of fabulous looking teeth (thanks Bill). I felt a little out of sorts for the next couple of days but it was more than worth it to have a smile back and not have to hide my mouth anymore and I have been told it has taken 20 years off me !!! I would highly recommend Elmsleigh House, all the staff are very friendly and welcoming and Bill and Hugh were great and very kind to me. If anyone is in the same situation as I was I could not recommend Elmsleigh House more.

Fantastic experience: I wanted to take the time to post a review, as I have been so impressed with Elmsleigh House Dental service, everyone has been so helpful and professional, I would recommend them to anyone!! Sometimes it’s hard to find a dentist you feel comfortable with but Cathleen put me at ease straight away with her warm and welcoming disposition. I came to her wanting Composite bonding and I have to say, she achieved beyond what I thought was possible!! I look like I have a whole new smile and that’s just from a few small changes with composite bonding.

Fantastic experience: From someone who has an absolute fear of injections and just any form of surgery. I have just had one of the best experiences getting a rear molar extracted. From the moment you walk in with the receptionist, to sitting in the chair with the dentist and their assistant. I can't thank them enough. For 3 months I have struggled on with immense toothache and they managed to squeeze me in with an emergency appointment the same day, which with all this covid stuff going on was an absolute dream, especially for someone who suffers from anxiety when it comes to things like this. My dentist was Tim Thackrah and him and his assistant were fantastic. I could not thank them enough. Quality work and even had me laughing during the process. I highly recommend anyone who needs dental work going here. You will not be disappointed. Thank you to the Elmsleigh House team. 5 stars all round.

Fantastic experience: As a Dentist I never thought that I would be in the situation where I needed an emergency dentist for my family. But unfortunately my boyfriend was assaulted on Friday and I was in need of help. I was given Tim's name and information by a colleague who recommended him very highly - and he was not wrong. Tim and the staff stayed late on Saturday afternoon to allow my boyfriend to be treated. The quality of the work was excellent and my boyfriend was reassured throughout the appointment. I cannot thank the practice enough for what they did for us on Saturday. And would highly recommend the practice.

Fantastic experience: I had a “fast ortho” alignment treatment at Elmsleigh House in 2018. Cathleen, my dentist, was great, very calm and professional and obviously very experienced. She explained everything very clearly at the beginning and her standard of work was excellent throughout the treatment. The results (after just 5-months) were amazing and I was very, very pleased with the outcome. In fact the results were so good that Elmsleigh House asked to use a photo of my teeth in their next ortho brochure! Fantastic experience: To begin with I was seen as an emergency patient and needed root canal treatment- I saw Somayeh, Hugh and Manoj who were absolutely amazing! Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Elmsleigh House Dental Clinic for over a year now. I cannot speak more highly of the treatment and care i have received, which has been from a variety of the dentists and hygienists. I was a rather nervous patient before attending this clinic, however I was made to feel so at ease throughout, making the experience pleasant. From the moment you walk in you are greeted by the lovely receptionists, and the nurses too have always been fantastic. A very happy and grateful patient!

Fantastic experience: I have just had my first appointment with Cathleen. She was very pleasant, made me feel comfortable and was obviously interested in helping me to keep my teeth nice. She gave me advice on which teeth to concentrate on with my whitening. Today I had a temporary filling as it was an emergency appointment. I will be back in 2 weeks for a permanent one. Fantastic experience: The Elmsleigh House dentists have provided me with the best dental care that I have ever experienced. Over the past few months I had a wisdom tooth extracted by Kit Spears, restorative work by Cathleen Perrin and root canal treatment by Somayeh Modarres-Simmons. All three of these dentists were outstanding in their specialties. This is much better than practices in which one dentist tries to do everything. I had been dealing with a complicated wisdom tooth problem for about 10 years. One dentist had said that it was too close to a nerve to be safely extracted and others seemed uncertain about this. Another dentist said that he might have to leave part of the tooth that could not be readily extracted. A few months ago I brought this problem to Kit Spears. He examined my x-rays and told me that the tooth was far enough from the nerve and that extraction should not cause any issues. I liked his confident approach and his willingness to discuss my concerns. Kit extracted the tooth, removing the entire tooth. I am extremely pleased with the work that he did and I would give him my highest recommendation for oral surgery. I had two other dental concerns that I brought to Cathleen Perrin. I did not like the fit or appearance of a crown on my second lower right molar and I did not like the appearance of a filling on my first lower right molar. In both cases the shape and colour did not look like the shape and colour of a natural tooth. When Cathleen completed her work on replacing the filling and showed me the tooth in the mirror, I was amazed at what I saw. The tooth was perfect in colour and shape and looked better than any tooth with a filling that I had ever seen before. Cathleen did the restorative work with the artistry of a sculptor. I am very particular about the appearance of my teeth and I am happy to say that Cathleen did a perfect job. I also asked Cathleen to replace the crown on my second lower right molar. I wanted it to extend below the gum line so that there would not be a visible line. Once again she did a perfect job and I am extremely pleased with the appearance of the new crown. I would give Cathleen my highest recommendation for restorative, cosmetic and general dentistry. I was having pain from my second lower right molar and Cathleen, before placing the permanent crown, referred me to Somayeh, the endodontist at Elmsleigh House, for root canal therapy. Somayeh completed the work with a minimum of discomfort and was able to save the tooth. I liked the way she talked me through the entire procedure. I was impressed by her skill and with the equipment that she used which was far superior to what I had experienced with a previous root canal treatment. I would give Somayeh my highest recommendation for endodontic work.
