Fantastic experience: Due to a bridge losing a weekend battle with a Toblerone, I presented myself at the practice first thing Monday morning, not expecting immediate service. The receptionist, Danielle, could not have been more helpful, friendly and professional. I was seen immediately by the always friendly, quiet and extremely efficient Anitha Praburam. The bridge was refitted and I was on my way very quickly. Very many thanks.

Fantastic experience: Today I had an appointment with Jenny Gayathiri for a scale and polish, but she noticed I needed a filling, so luckily for me she repaired my tooth. I received excellent and friendly treatment from Jenny and her assistant Amy.

Fantastic experience: Had to have a second review to day about my wisdom tooth that has been causing a few issues with my cheek. Saw Sabari who explained that the tooth would have to come out but that I was not covered on my policy and that I would have to pay which was said at my last review so not a shock. He explained everything that would happen and how long it would take felt very at ease even though it was the first time I had met him also his nurse was lovely too. Went out to reception where I was able to book the appointment with ease and don't have long to wait. Happy days.

Positive experience: I saw the hygienist here a few weeks ago and on leaving she handed me a sheet of paper to give to the receptionist when leaving, the receptionist explained that the hygeniest had given me a point score which meant payment for my plan would almost double in cost! I hardly use the dentist and my teeth are in really good condition so I was shocked to be told this, normally my plan payments would increase by a small amount a year which is fine so how can they justify nearly doubling my payments! and to be told by the receptionist if I didn't like it I could find another practice was upsetting and i came away feeling annoyed and quite shocked to think I would have to consider finding another dentist after 30 years of being a patient here, such an unprofessional way to be treated, maybe someone could explain to me and justify why my payments have increased so much when I hardly use the dentist?

Positive experience: I had my first ever Hygienist appointment today I'm 60yrs, been with this practice for at least 50 of them. Appointment seem to go well with no issues relayed to me. ( I look after my teeth well) In leaving, Hygienist passed me a sheet of paper to give to receptionist. On doing this I was told i would now move from A to B on the plan I have, why? Would it not have been more respectful for the hygienist who had made this decision! To have explain to myself. 1, that it was actually happening. 2, explain in detail why.. not expect the receptionist to explain.. with no medical dental training! How rude. Absolutely feel that old plan patients are classed as less important and an annoyance to this practice now. There is no personal interest to patients from the specialist. They could do with getting some training from the brilliant receptionist Nicky!

Fantastic experience: Been with this practice for 40 years since the beginning in Old Town Street. The staff have always been very lovely with great service. Just recently Michael left the practice & Im sure everyone was sad to see him go. Finding his replacement seemed a challenge having met a few after he left. Apart from having Sharia, thank the Lord the practice seemed to be struggling to get the right staff. However, it now seems they have the perfect team from the lovely, smiley receptionists to the Hygenists & of course the exceptionally trained dentists. I met with Jenny (I think her name was) an Indian dentist who was truly lovely. She explained everything & was so thorough. The atmosphere in the practice is very welcoming, friendly & above all professional. You all make a great team & show Plymouth City Dental Practice is the best. Thank you x

Fantastic experience: After very little luck with NHS emergency dentists, Plymouth City Centre Dental Practice have dealt with my problems quickly and have provided a high quality of service. I feel informed regarding my options for treatment and have been made to feel comfortable in terms of the steps going forward. I am very satisfied with this dentist and will look to continue to go to them for any dental inquiries in the future!

Negative experience: After more than 40 years with this practice I have decided to move due to changes that have occurred over the past couple of years. All of the current staff have treated me well but I struggle to understand why I need so much communication from them, sometimes telling me that I need to pay a deposit then saying that I don't because I have a plan. Also I'm not happy with the lack of privacy when the receptionists address a patient on the phone and then discuss said patients circumstances.

Fantastic experience: For reference I hate the dentist. I get nervous, half the time I'm gagging and it's just generally quite uncomfortable and embarrassing. I have to say I so glad I chose this practice to go with. The whole team are patient and kind and I really do feel like I'm in good hands. I just had a tooth out and it was actually very easy. The communication throughout the procedure was excellent, and although I was quite nervous and uncomfortable, they did help me to feel a bit more at ease. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: An old worn crown broke off. The practice put me on a waiting list for cancellations and I got an appointment within a few days. I was impressed by Dr Nathan's care and attention to save the old crown which is fixed back and working well.

Negative experience: Booked myself an appointment for a clean up, attended the appointment and they only did half my mouth and I didn't know why until after the second appointment when they called and emailed me that I didn't pay for the second clean up. Not being familiar with how things work in this country, they tricked me into agreeing with this second clean up but they never informed me that I will have to pay for it since they didn't even finish the procedure during my first appointment. They could have finished everything in my first appointment but they told me they will do the other half of my mouth in my next appointment and thinking I already paid, I agreed. Then to realise they only tricked me into getting a second appointment so I can pay for another one. If that is the case you should inform clients and try and trick them, also do your best to finish what you're supposed to do in the first appointment, don't drag it. How ridiculous is this? I don't even want to get started about the cold sores they have given me after the appointment. My mouth is full of cold sores, everywhere. It's unbelievable, I have never seen anything like it. So this tells me a lot about the hygiene of some of your staff members . I am disgusted by how you treated me, the service you offer and the level of hygiene. It appears that You go to the dentist to get cold sores. You are a joke!

Her dental nurse was lovely sorry I can't remember your name. There was also a very nice receptionist.So pleased to see the practice is back on track after a very unsettling time.

Fantastic experience: Had an appointment with Dentist Paul Sylveris yesterday, to fit a temporary crown and preparation for the permanent crown. Paul is a very good Dentist, patient centred and works very well, he ensured I was as pain free as possible and kept me fully informed. Both Paul and his dental nurse provided a friendly, relaxing and calming atmosphere.

Positive experience: As a client/patient of this practice for 35 years, the recent changes of management, culture and staffing have been significant! However, let’s hope PCCDP is now entering a more settled period. Full praise to Paul Sylviris who smoothly repaired a broken tooth with pins as well ubiquitously used white filling, all the while keeping me and his dental nurse entertained with his charming Aussie banter.

Fantastic experience: From Susan Phillips. After horrendous toothache, I contacted the practice for an appointment. A very sympathetic, and friendly receptionist named Nicky soon gave me a convienient appointment with Kirsty. She was friendly, put me at ease, and after an x ray, said it needed to come out. The day came soon after that. She explained what would be happening. Very professional, along with the dental nurses. By then I was completely at ease. The atmosphere was of an important operation where the patient s well being was of the utmost importance. Gum was numbed. Tooth was extracted before I d even noticed. No pain whatsoever! After care was given, plus written notes to take with me. She made sure I was safe to leave. I was able to walk to local bus stop, did nothing all day and needed no pain relief. Next day...felt as though nothing had happened. Thank you SO much Kirsty and team.

Fantastic experience: I phoned this practice out of necessity a good few years ago when a tooth snapped off. I was fortunate they could see me it being close to Christmas.I was seen by Shahriar who carefully talked me through several treatment options.In short the outcome was excellent and have been regular patient ever since. Shahriar is very friendly, reassuring and above all extremely professional as are the hygienists and receptionists. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough.

I think it's fair to say that not many people actually enjoy the dentist, but here you feel totally at ease. After the lovely Mikael left i was a little anxious as i knew that i had some major dental work coming my way. After a couple of no-go's with Sid, i was matched with Kirsty (Lewis) who immediately understood me and my ongoing problems. We discussed a way forward and now , after considerable dental work, i am very pleased to say that i am incredibly happy. Kirsty and her team have literally changed my life, which is not an exaggeration. I will never be able to thank her enough. Fantastic experience: Paul was yet another new dentist for me. 5 in less than 2 years in the same practice. I asked if it was policy to be able to remain with one dentist or if it was pot luck. Paul agreed it's best to have consistency. This was something of an emergency appointment for me having had my crown come away from it's tooth. Paul was a kind and engaging chap who explained everything he was doing and was very thorough in ensuring that the crown was refitted in a proper manner. Indeed we thought everything was OK and I was about to leave but felt there were still raised areas so I returned to the chair and was there a further 10 minutes while Paul worked his magic. A thorough and professional appointment. I hope he stays at the practise as I could do with consistency and knowing who is going to be adminisering my future dental care in a business like and down to earth manner.

Fantastic experience: After years of struggling to find a competent dental surgery I have finally found one in this dentist (Kirsty), her nurse, and surgery. I have previously wasted money with a particular ‘franchise’ of dentists that charge you £5 on top of your treatment for THEIR PPE and charge for each extraction working out to be no cheaper but with very shoddy work, I can finally relax. I was made to feel comfortable from my initial phone-call with Nikki on reception, who gave reassurance, right through to my treatment and I would highly recommend Plymouth City Centre dentist at Kinterbury house. Due to some staffing changes in the practice I was trepidatious about a change of dentist but I need not have been so. I was referred to Kirsty for both an emergency appointment and pre arranged check up and found her to be extremely knowledgeable, professional and most importantly, able to put me totally at ease. Her dental nurse Jessica was also very pleasant and gentle. I would also like to thank both Nicky and Danni on reception. My dentist is called Maia and we always end up laughing when I go in to see her and her dental nurse Vicky. This has been the best dental experience of my 62 years. (I hope I spelt their names right).
