Atkinson Brignall Caring Dentistry

Negative experience: We had been patients at this dental practice for several years, and overall our experience had been acceptable. Appointments rarely ran on time, and I was often kept waiting up to 30 minutes past the scheduled slot. I assumed this was due to the practice accommodating emergency cases, so it was not a major concern. However, our experience changed when we required an emergency appointment ourselves. After my daughter suffered an accident that left her front tooth broken, I contacted the surgery requesting urgent care. Despite explaining that she was in pain and struggling to eat, the earliest appointment offered was four days later. We were unable to obtain an earlier slot and therefore had to seek help from another practice, which addressed the issue promptly. While our long-term experience had generally been fine, the lack of support during an urgent situation was disappointing and ultimately led us to leave ABC Dentistry.

Fantastic experience: I’ve just had my first appointment at Atkinson Brignall specifically to see Ennata Adeleye with regard to saving two fairly rotten teeth. Wowzee, she was brilliant and gave me extra time to manage a thorough examination as I had come with absolutely no history nor X-rays. I cannot praise her enough. Before I left, she gave me a thorough explanation of the treatment I need and that she personally can give me.

I found this dentist on line, I phoned to see if they had space for my daughter the receptionist couldn’t have been more helpful. We then visited the dentist and my daughter saw Dr Jay Patel who was just amazing. He made my daughter feel very calm, he was extremely patient he put my daughter at ease whilst visiting the dentist. “she left saying I don’t mind visiting the dentist now mummy “

Fantastic experience: Just wanted to thank Ian and his team for the professional caring service today.

Negative experience: I feel this dentistry is rather arrogant. Although most of the Staff are lovely, there are some that treat you like you should be grateful to be their client. Unfortunately last week was the last straw and we have decided to leave. Ian asked my son if he would like his retainer fixed as a couple of fixings had fallen off, without informing him that he was going to be charged £70 for the 1 minute procedure. My son is a student and £70 is quite a lot for him. Also, if he had known, he would have gone to his orthodontist to get it done for free. After calling them to discuss the situation, and requesting for a goodwill offering as our family have been with them many years, they didn't bother calling back.After chasing they refused. So no Goodwill there. Addendum: Thank you for your comprehensive response. It is a shame I had to make my complaint public before I got one. As I mentioned above, it took over a week for my call to be returned, with numerous call to chase. However, as soon as I posted a poor review, I was called by you 3 times in a matter of hours. Umm.

Fantastic experience: Without doubt this is a quality caring dentist, from the moment you walk through the door and are greeted by the warm reception team I have just finished my invisline treatment, it was so much easier and quicker than I thought it would be , it was followed by teeth whitening and 2 porcelain veneers on my front teeth. This was all completed in under eleven Months and carried out by the very skilled caring Ian Brignall. My smile is now transformed giving confidence. I am so pleased I made the decision to have this procedure carried out , it was well worth it Thankyou Ian !

But no, Atkinson Brignall reception immediately found me an appointment time 20 minutes later. I arrived, with tooth in hand, and after a rapid examination of the problem, my dentist Jay took action. Fantastic experience: I have just finished having my teeth straightened by Ian Brignall using Invisalign. I cannot recommend him more highly. Ian has done an amazing job, I am so pleased with my results. The whole practice is lovely, a team of helpful and friendly receptionists, amazing kids play room which was a real help when I had to bring my 1 yr old and 4 yr old to some appointments. We will all be continuing to see Ian Brignall for our regular check ups. My children are already excited for their next visit!

Fantastic experience: Dr Patel and team were extremely kind, sensitive and respectful of my younger one’s moods and feelings, they didn’t give him any pressure during his first ever dental check up to ensure it remained a positive experience throughout. They also encouraged my son to come back on a visit when my daughter was having her teeth filled, he became much more comfortable with being at the dentist and was able to cooperate with the team to finish his dental assessment. The green dinosaur in the examinations room and the kids exploration dentist room (the one next to reception) was also very helpful in terms of getting my kids calm and ready for their appointment. Would definitely recommend this dental practice for young kids. Not to mention that my daughter was also at ease when she had her fillings done due to how friendly the staff were.

Fantastic experience: I would just like to compliment Jay on the way that he made my daughter feel 100% at ease today. She is generally an anxious child who doesn’t feel comfortable around others and Jay was so friendly, reassuring and kind. He took the time to talk to her about what he was going to do and we didn’t feel rushed at all. She is very pleased that he extracted her tooth in under 5secs as promised, so that she can come back to see him again!

Fantastic experience: After years of struggling to find a good and reliable dentist I met by coincidence Dr Ian Brignall after making an emergency appointment when my then dentist was unable to see me. In my childhood I had an accident and damaged some of my teeth which had been patched up over the years. As a result I had a great fear of dentists and what they would do next… When I met Ian he was amazingly calm and friendly, gave me space to “run out” if I wanted and was very knowledgeable and honest as to the possibilities and set out beforehand the fees that came which each option. He sorted out the immediate problems instantly and suggested a route forward. Two years down the line and two implants later my teeth look perfect again and I have totally lost my fear of dentists. Needless to say I have moved my family to Atkinson Brignall as well. The practice is run very efficiently by a kind and friendly team and looks immaculate. In addition, they have dealt with and adapted to the Covid rules with great care. If you are looking for an excellent dentist this is by far the best practice I have come across (both in London and Sevenoaks) – I can highly recommend them!

Fantastic experience: Outstanding experience under Ian Brignall with Invisalign teeth straightening. About Ian: I was quite nervous and anxious beforehand, had not-good memories of painful train-track braces as a teenager, but something just had to be done now in my 50s because my bite didn't work anymore, my front teeth were pointing inwards having been pushed by the others. Ian took brilliant care of me, was scrupulous in working out the best outcome (which would determine the interim retainers to move my teeth along), explaining each step, and looking after me so well and so kindly. When it was all done, he wasn't happy with the positioning of one tooth (still a little off-centre) and so we did another round at no additional cost to me. About Invisalign: absolutely brilliant system, so much better than fixed retainers IF you have the discipline to wear the removable ones the moment you are not eating or drinking, and also not to lose them :). The gradual emergence of the best smile-look I have ever had in my life was utterly amazing, and I find myself laughing and smiling so much more - without the urge of the past decade(s) to cover my mouth because at the back of my mind there's the embarrassment that my teeth are bit crooked. Also as a bonus: I finally understand how and why flossing can be so easy, I had struggled with it and hated it (ie avoided it) because it was such a challenge with crooked or overlapping teeth. Now it's just a doddle! So: I feel more confident because I know my now-straight teeth look good, AND I am more easily able to take care of them, prolonging my oral health. Doing Invisalign with Ian Brignall was utterly worth every penny, a real investment for the rest of my life and health. If you are feeling anxious, don't be anymore, I can't recommend him highly enough, you will be in excellent hands.

Fantastic experience: On behalf of my husband John: I had three of my front teeth removed as they were loose, the thought of having the work carried out was daunting. Dr Ian Brignall suggested a bridge which I knew nothing about and agreed to go ahead and proceed. The first stage was a two hour appointment to fit the temporary bridge which was not at all painful, as the work was carried out during the pandemic I kept my mask on at all times except when having the treatment done. I arrived home and could not believe the results – this was the first time I had seen the results – it was amazing! The bridge was a perfect fit, size and colour – my daughter and wife said I had film star teeth! I felt so safe at all times when having the treatment carried out, and the care and procedures implemented were outstanding. I would recommend the treatment to anybody. Thank you Dr Brignall and team you are stars!

Fantastic experience: Dr Mac is by far the best dentist I have been to. She is so friendly and welcoming and always takes time to make our two little boys smile. It’s never too much trouble for her if I bring them along to an appointment, she’s fantastic with children and helps me keep them entertained! The kids love her and always talk about impressing Dr Mac with their brushing when we’re going for an appointment. Dr Mac also worked wonders on my teeth with Invisalign and is incredibly thorough and knowledgeable. I’m so happy with the results! She makes going to the dentist stress free, I recommend her to everyone!

Fantastic experience: We have our check-ups and dental jobs done by Miles. The kids think he is great fun and just softens what can be quite a daunting experience for little mouths. Never a rush, deals with their questions and answers in a way they can understand. So much so, my daughter wants to be a dentist when she grows up ! Fantastic experience: Composite work to lower & upper teeth Ian Brignall has transformed my smile. I had very worn front & lower teeth from constant grinding over the years.
