Positive experience: Hie, the service as a NHS is good but I was so ashamed and felt really bad when the receptionist loudly claimed infront of other patients that I am on UC which I only started because of my ongoing health condition.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant dental services. OK, so nobody actually likes going to the dentist, but they work hard to put you at ease and to make sure the experience is as pain free as possible. Aftercare is also good. I am lucky to have found such a good practice. Two years later and I stand by my original review. I lost several teeth due to infection when a dentist was not available during covid. The dentist tried very hard to save them over a number of appointments. Every treatment was clear and honest about what could be achieved. I am an NHS patient and have received nothing but the best of care. I have found that the reception staff have been friendly and helpful. Finding appointments that fit me rather than their convenience. A great practice that I am happy to reccommend.

Fantastic experience: This practice is extremely efficient. The dental care is very thorough. The place is spotlessly clean. The image presented by the garden outside at the front does not reflect this though and could put you off as a new patient. It would benefit from some tlc and a good tidy up.

Negative experience: Absolutely awful experience, wouldn’t recommend this dentist to anyone. Booked an appointment as a private patient and was asked to pay a deposit over phone, never had to pay a deposit for a dentist before, they initially said it would be £10. Went into the practice to pay and was told it would be £30. On the actual day of the appointment i was shocked at how dirty and untidy the reception area was, it also smelled really bad like bad body odour. The receptionists were so rude and had no clue what they were doing, i was made to feel like such an inconvenience for showing up for my appointment that I’d made three weeks prior? The actual dentist experience was bizzare, did an x-ray straight off the bat without even looking at my teeth, was told this was standard practice for new patients, never had this done before. He put the gum shield in my mouth incorrectly and was demanding i bite down even though it was clear i was in a lot of pain, he then noticed it was in wrong and just went “oh sorry”. He then proceeded to explain he was primarily a cosmetic dentist (which no one told me when i booked - all fine but he seemed annoyed to be doing a regular check up) and to follow his business page on instagram and just talked about cosmetic procedures he could do, that was not why i made the appointment. I had to enquire myself about hygienist appointments this wasn’t even mentioned, I’m not even convinced he did a proper check up and for £60 it was such a waste of money as I’ll have to go and pay that again somewhere else. When i went to reception to pay she pretended i hadn't paid my deposit to which i had to argue back and insist i had. The girl on reception was hopeless, she hardly knew how to work the system and repeatedly tried to put me in for appointments at random times even though i said i cant come in until after 5. She sighed at me everytime i said i couldn't do an appointment. Appointments online said up to 6.30pm so i dont know why this was such an issue. Booking in a hygienist appointment she said the hygenist only works one day a week or one weekend every two weeks?? She sighed again when i said i was unable to come in on a weekend. After all of this she put me in for another check up appointment in march but never actually told me the date. I felt so upset and uncomfortable by this point that i paid the remaining balance and left saying ill leave the other appointment and call back. The whole ordeal was dreadful for private dental and i won’t ever be returning. Do not go to this dentist!!!

The office was very clean and comfortable, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Negative experience: I believe the 5* reviews here must all be private patients. I would strongly advise against registering as an NHS patient here the level of care is quite frankly appalling. The practice never answer the phone on the nhs line, leaving you on hold for upwards of 20-30 minutes before you eventually give up. They regularly cancel NHS appointments, including at the last minute and once when i was halfway to the appointment. The practice has cancelled last minute on us and then registered it as a Did not attend on our accounts despite the appointments being cancelled by them. As an NHS doctor myself I am genuinely shocked by how poor the service is. Im looking for an alternative NHS dentist but ultimately I may have to look for a private option in the mean time as Im absolutely sick of being messed around by this terrible excuse for a dental surgery.

Negative experience: I have been coming here for years, for many of those to the dentist Karen Raw. Since Karen has moved on I have stuck with the replacement practice over the past 3 years and in good faith have given them ample opportunity to carry on the service I have previously expected. All I have experienced is the gradual diminishing of the service and practice which is sad. It appears that small storage rooms have been converted in to additional treatment rooms in order to expand the practice and to maximise profits. I have just been today and have left with a very uneasy feeling about the experience and will not return. I was led to a small dismal room with an old dental chair in the middle. It was so small that there were shoe prints up the wall, obviously placed there as the chair was tilted back. There are many other good practices to spend your money with.

Fantastic experience: Thank You for carrying out an urgent extraction of broken wisdom tooth. Very quick response, caring and professional.

Negative experience: I do not recommend this practice for several reasons. Firstly, I joined the practice as an NHS patient but have been removed from the NHS patient list later without any notice. I was made aware of this only when I arrived for a check up. I was told that to stay on the NHS list, a patient is required to visit every 3 months!!! Secondly, I was asked to pay a deposit towards the upcoming treatment ( never been asked for it by any practice before). Cancelled my upcoming appointment a month ago and still haven't received my refund. In my opinion, the practice is struggling and thus trying to make money lying and misleading their patients. Keep away from this practice!!!

Negative experience: Constantly cancel appointments last minute then cannot offer you another one for a month which is then delaying treatment plans!! Leaving patients with further dental issues.

Fantastic experience: Been coming here for a while, Katie the Hygienist and Elaine are absolutely amazing, very nice and friendly and extremely professional. My teeth always feel so clean after I leave. Mike the dentist is also very good, had a root canal done and there was no pain and the aftercare was exceptional. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: Avoid this place or at least get a second opinion if you are told you need a filling. I needed fillings at 3 routine check ups in a row with Nehal Waheeb, 3rd time I was told I needed a further 2 fillings, I got suspicious so went to get a full examination and X-rays at another dentist and guess what?!! no issues were found and no fillings required. It's obvious that making as much money as possible is the priority of this dentist, patient care comes second. Also seen another recent review from someone who had a similar experience. Coincidence?!! - I doubt it.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience, I had couple of fillings need to be redone and a deep cavity didn’t allow me to sleep, and all that because of my dental anxiety but Dr Shaar took care of them and I didn’t feel a thing! The pain management he applied and the swift treatments he offered made my experience so smooth and the result so satisfying :) I really appreciate their services during this hard time in NHS dentistry. Negative experience: Registered with this practice and didn't read the Google reviews first especially re advising treatment that may not be required. I just called to cancel my appointment and the lady was nonchalant about my reasons almost as if she was used to hearing it!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at this practice with Dr Ali Shaar, who is friendly, very patient and amazing dentist . I am highly anxious patient who counts for a million before seeing a dentist. Dr Ali relieved my concerns and put me at ease with his calm and sweet demeanour. I got three private white fillings and scale and polish with no pain during or after treatment. I never felt amazed about a dentist work before, like the way I did with Dr Ali. I would highly recommend Dr Ali to everyone with high dental anxiety.

Negative experience: I wish that there had been communication between dentist/assistant and receptionist who just reminded me of appointment but not that I have to be starving for six hours after filling of my tooth. I wish that I had the chance to be informed in advance and get prepared before the filling. Very bureaucratic!

Negative experience: Would be very cautious about this dentist. Visited with my partner as we had been looking for an nhs dentist for some time. We were both told in separate appointments we required large fillings and if we wanted them white it was basically the same cost as a private dentist. My partner had just seen our normal dentist who had found nothing so we found this strange. We were told these filings were urgent and encouraged to book in asap. The cost for both of us was in excess of £700. Something did not seem right about this and we also found things like the amount of social media advertising they do, how tiny all the exam rooms are etc a bit off. We cancelled our appointments for the dental work and went to our normal dentist. He took X-rays and did thorough checks of both of us and found no work required at all. We’ve since left wilmslow.

Negative experience: First and last visit, firstly parking there, there isn't any just hope you find somewhere on the main road. We had high expectations of here being an NHS dentist but the second we walked in we were very surprised and horrified by the state of the place. The receptionists didn't make a smile or any welcome being our first time, the reception area was laughable, this was simpky a very mediocre, more like a table than a professional designated area to welcome you and look after patients. We arrived 20 minutes early to fill in the hand held tablet forms. We walked up the threadbare carpeted stairs into a room where it looked dilapidated, skirting missing, just very tired, the nurse clearly didn't know how to operate the screen with her hand on her face while she typed. The actual dentist was pleasant enough but had trainers on and didn't look professional at all, and kept asking questions about our teeth that we obviously not being a dentist had any idea what she meant. Then we were asked to go back downstairs to squeeze another customer in only to come back up. Really!!. Please take our advice and give this dentist a miss, there are much cleaner more friendly ones around. You have been warned!!!., we cancelled our appointment and left sharpish.

I was so nervous about having fillings and that my Invisalign would then not fit but Dr Waheeb made it totally pain free and really made such a effort to make sure the fillings were done so well my Invisalign still went on no problem and I didn't have any setbacks in my treatment. Negative experience: I had done filling but after few days I felt like it has not been done properly it has got little gap left so I booked appointment again to get checked. As soon as I enter the room dentist behave very rudely asked me what is your problem. Did ask me to sit down even. I was still standing and showing him. He asked me what should I do I said you are the dentist I don't know then he checked and said it's not his fault it's just my teeth. Then he just file it while he was filling he hurt me twice when I said ouch he said do you want anesthesia?? After that he said I didn't hurt you where I hurt you?? I said I am not lying when it hurts it hurts. Very very very rude behaviour. He was annoyed because of some staff shortage or moved some staff but that affect patiey. Behaviour is not acceptable at all

Negative experience: Worst dentist in the world !!!!!! The receptionist needs to be fired for the way she treats people. The woman with glasses needs a reality check, I’ve been a receptionist and I would NEVER treat people that way!!! She treats people like dogs, and shouts at them in front of other people. Down right no respect!!!!! This place needs to be shut down and the receptionist needs to be taught manners. Who gave her the job??DO NOT GO HERE if I could give them -1 starts believe me I would, to shout at someone who’s been coming to that dentist for years?? Whole place needs to be shut down

Fantastic experience: They took care about one of my tooth, that I thought the only solution was an extraction. Always precise and all the staff is lovely remembering the day before your appointment. This clinic makes me feel in a professional hands.

I do however feel sorry for the receptionist many of times seen people angry with her for no fault of the practice. It’s easy to update you’re personal information so there’s no missed communication but some people must think she’s a mind reader

Negative experience: All the staff have an extremely foul attitude and condescending manner. The practice constantly cancels appointments at the last minute, then makes you wait months to reschedule. Disgusting money grabbing attitude, trying to get rid of all their nhs patients so they can start charging a higher rate. Have redirected their calls to a call centre abroad so impossible to liaise with them accordingly. Receptionist is RUDE, dentist is unprofessional and didn’t leave me feeling like I’d had a thorough check up. Would avoid like the plague, especially as an NHS patient.

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but good things to say about my experiences at Wilmslow Dental Centre/Smart Dental. From arrival, Claire is friendly, helpful and efficient. Dr Nehal Waheeb is thorough, efficient and professional whilst having a friendly manner when explaining my planned treatment, taking time to ensure I fully understood. Kate, the hygienist, has treated me for many years. She is one of the best! Like many, I am a nervous patient, but I am very happy with the service and treatment I have received here since they took over the previous business. I especially like the phone and email reminders as I would hate to miss an appointment. I understand that running this type of business (appointment based) is made very difficult if people are late or simply don't attend. Thank you

Fantastic experience: My experience at this dental practice has been exceptionally. Dr Waheeb has been truly amazing, I had a phobia for 17 years and as you can imagine my teeth was in a bad way, Dr Waheeb has been very patient and even suggested listening to music via headphones to take my mine of it. Skip forward 3 months and a few appointments later my teeth look incredible and I’ve even used the Teeth whitening system they offer which I can highly recommend. Negative experience: The dentist was really nice and polite but the manager was so rude !!!! I have never seen a manager talk to the patients the way she did. Absolutely hideous . After many times trying to call and going straight to voicemail which is another problem here , i got to talk to someone who said was the manager and shockingly she didn’t even let me finish or talk about my problem. She kept saying the phone is ringing she needs to answer others !!!!! As if i am not their patient !! No respect to even show any concern about my problem or no efforts to solve my problem. She kept saying I haven’t received your voice mail of cancelling the appointment!! Which meant i was lying and that was disgusting. I had called 6 times the day before plus left a voice mail. If you can’t find my voicemail it is the faulty of your system not mine. But there was no apologies!!! had heard awful stuff about this practice when they lost many patients and I was questioning it after i saw the dentist but now i know the reason.

Fantastic experience: Great professional staff at reception. Saw 1 receptionist in particular who was treated by 2 different patients on different occasions in a very rude manner but she remained calm n didn't allow the situation to escalate.

Negative experience: I just phoned and woman was very unhelpful and actually refused to help me! I got told to go online and fill out the form to register as a nhs patient waiting list. No form online and the woman refused to assist me in finding the form. She never even knew her self were it is She said i have to take other calls

Fantastic experience: Excellent service would recommend to anyone of my friends and family. I was suffering with an infection and Claire the receptionist couldn’t of been more accommodating and compassionate fitting me in at the next available emergency appointment. On my arrival I was nervous and in pain but I was put at ease straight away . Claire is a a real credit to the practice and goes above and beyond for all the patients. The lady dentist I saw , unfortunately I didn’t catch her name was so understanding and took her time when trying to take an X-ray given that my mouth was swollen and I was struggling to fully open my mouth . Overall I am more than happy with my experience at Wilmslow Dental and i feel lucky that they had space on their books to take on NHS patients.

I felt that the dentist wasn’t trying to push more treatment on me than was needed so trusted him immediately and it was all pain free / well done. We were seen pretty punctually too. The centre is clean and well looked after with great step free access which was handy with a pram.
