Fantastic experience: I have to say that Raeel and Sam at Drake st. Dental really put me at ease, fully explained the procedure to me and talked me through my options. Was very considerate when administering the local anesthetic and Im really happy with my results. I think he s the best dentist Ive seen over the years. Receptionist are really helpful and friendly.

Negative experience: Took on as NHS patient. They cancelled my first appointment on a Sunday by text. I rang next day booked in again. Then rang few days later saying the dentists NHS contract fell through so no longer can be a patient. 0 stars if I could. I am very disappointed and upset that they can do this without offering me any other option. 3 years I've been trying to get a dentist. Not even seen and kicked to the curb. Disgraceful. Private cost are also unjustifiable and that high nobody can afford it. Greedy and disheartening world we live in.

Fantastic experience: In August 2025 I bit into a very hard oat biscuit and soon realised that a crowned front tooth had broken off! Horror of horrors – what to do? Called Drake Dental and very quickly the manager arranged an emergency appointment and my condition was assessed. I was so grateful for the quick response,helpfulness and sympathy of the team. Then on the first day back from his holiday Dr Khan used his amazing skills to carry out a root canal treatment and then also managed to refit my original tooth! I was so glad to be able to smile again. I have been a patient at Drake Dental for many years and have seen much positive change at the practice. Drake Dental staff are always friendly, helpful and efficient.A surgery visit gives excellent care from staff in all roles, in a bright and attractive environment.

Fantastic experience: After being anxious about going back to the dentist I was out at ease by the lovely staff at Drake Dental. I had Natalie as my dental nurse as she treated me with the utmost professionalism which helped the experience. Raheel was a lovely dentist and was kind when telling me what work needed doing. During the fillings I felt calm although I don’t like needles and the dentist who did my fill was brilliant. Stopped when I need to and kept the whole experience positive.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Drake dental practice for the past couple of years, and I can honestly say it's been a great experience. From the moment you walk in, the staff is super friendly and welcoming, which really helps to ease any nerves you might have. The dentist takes the time to explain everything, so you never feel rushed or confused about what's happening. I’ve had regular check-ups, a couple of fillings, and even a teeth whitening session, and I've always felt comfortable and well taken care of. The dentist is clean and modern, which adds to the positive experience. What I appreciate the most is that they genuinely seem to care about my dental health, not just pushing for procedures. Plus, they’re great at working with my schedule for appointments. Negative experience: Brought my daughter for emergency treatment. Charged £30 for antibiotics that she will be charged a prescription charge for as well! Dentist was horrible! Shaming me as a parent as she doesn't have a dentist. Telling me I'll have to go private, right nasty horror she was! She poked aggressively and told us what we already knew. Waste of time and money

Fantastic experience: I am a very nervous patient and don't really like the dentist and I normally have to be sedated when having teeth pulled. But today I had 2 teeth removed and a set of dentures fitted without any issues. The dentist and Suzi were amazing and kept me calm throughout.

Fantastic experience: I've not been to the dentist after a bad experience terrified me, for over 16 years! But I had to go due to terrible pain. The dentist (I think she referred to him as AJ) was absolutely amazing!!!!! He explained everything in detail, made me feel at ease and the procedure was totally pain free. I now feel comfortable to return to the dentist.

I recently had a cracked & infected root canal & had to have urgent surgical tooth removal. This was moved through so quickly thanks to having an emergency appointment with Michelle, and referred to a dental surgeon. Thank you so much to the full team, for such a smooth process, and never making the dentist a scary place to be!

I am petrified of dentists and not been in decades. I felt so at ease in this practice, the dentist did everything to save my tooth and I experienced no pain at all. I am now pain free and very thankful to the brilliant dentistry of this practice. Highly recommended

Fantastic experience: Makes me laugh that people are blaming the practice for going private. I doubt any of the people making those comments would go to work for free. It’s a cost of living crisis for everyone. Yea the dentist is an expensive place, they all are. Dentist wages are also expensive, the medical equipment is expensive. The constant training of staff and changes to government regulations meaning changes to practices, procedures and building maintenance. I very much doubt the owners are on the breadline like a lot of families in Rochdale. That doesn’t mean they don’t have financial worries, add to that the stress of running a business and having numerous employees that depend on you. their decision to go private and maintain their high standards and patient safety instead of cutting corners and making mistakes is the right thing to do. I would much rather pay the extra even though I can’t really afford it, than risk my health or the health of my family for the sake of saving a few pounds. Finding a dentist who is taking on NHS patients is hard but it’s not the dentist fault for the lack of accessible dental services that’s the government’s fault. If you took your child to a doctor and he said, going forward you could pay an extra fee for the medication and treatment And you can rest assured that everything is safe, qualified, experienced, and well equipped. Or that you could continue paying the same price but the staff would be sub par and the medication would be a cheaper alternative. The equipment would be well used and the constant turn around of staff would make it chaotic. Which would you chose ?

Negative experience: I have been waiting in pain for 7 weeks because the doctor forgot to write the request paper for the operation. When I called today and asked why I still had no news, they acted as if everything was normal and put the paper in the system today. (My appointment was 7 weeks ago. And they put on the system today . I can share my screenshot.)

Negative experience: After being an NHS patient at this practice for over 25 years my dentist has now gone private and I have no option to continue as an NHS patent at this practice or go private which I do not want to do.

Big thank you to Irum for being an amazing dentist especially to my mum (Robina) whom she makes feel so comfortable and welcomed on each visit. And thank you to the dental hygienist who works alongside Irum, who is so friendly and caring as well.

Negative experience: Poor. Feel like my dentist did the minimum he could on my teeth rather than help me. I expressed several times I was anxious about my teeth. Never offered a solution.Changed practices and much happier. Receptionists are always quietly insulting people behind their desk.

Negative experience: I feel really upset and let down by this surgery. In the midst of a cost of living crisis, when people are struggling to pay bills, rent and feed their children - Michelle has now decided to refuse to see NHS patients, and charge privately instead. Way to kick people while they’re down! I needed my check up and explained that I could not afford to pay privately (I already pay for my treatment, it’s not funded!) and asked to see the other NHS dentist at the surgery, which was point blank refused by the receptionist. It has never been a problem before to see another dentist at the surgery, but this time it was refused. The options given were - pay Michelle more money, and then she’ll see you, or you won’t be having an appointment at this surgery! I always thought that Michelle cared for her patients and that came first, but this act just proves that money comes first! We had the opportunity to move surgeries a few years ago, to one much closer to where we lived, but refused due to loyalty to Michelle and her team. It’s such a sad shame that we’re not worth the same loyalty from Michelle. I feel like we’ve been thrown away with the rubbish because we’re not rich enough to pay for private treatment. This choice was not forced on Michelle, it was a personal choice - no more worthless poor NHS patients to treat, more money! This decision seems to have been very calculated and well timed, forcing people into paying privately as there are no surgeries taking on new NHS patients at the moment, so people are left with little choice. I’m sure that patients would rather be seen once a year, as an NHS patient, rather than never as a private patient due to not being able to afford it! But Michelle’s patients haven’t even been given that option! Now I, like many others, need treatment, cannot afford to pay privately, and are left in pain, all because of a dentist’s decision borne from greed! Looking at past reviewers that have been unhappy with this surgery, their comments have had a reply of a fake apology and/or sarcastic remarks. Seems as I mean so little to Michelle, I’m sure I will be no different. When that fake apology comes along with the fake excuses, it will be proof of how money comes first, patient care comes last!

I have always been absolutely petrified of the dentist but since registering with Drake Dental Practice I am nowhere near as petrified as i used to be. Positive experience: I have never felt so uncomfortable as i did on my last visit to the dentist, i have a non verbal, autistic child who i had to take with me as i had nobody to watch him and didn’t want to cancel my appointment. Whilst i was waiting to be seen at the front desk he was walking around from one side to another and making sounds (wouldn’t really say he was disturbing anyone or doing any harm). So one lady at the reception kept looking over everytime he would make a sound or move around and rolling her eyes, making faces then looking at another member of staff. I could clearly see she had a problem with my child. Then he had touched the glass window because he was looking through minding his own business and another member of staff decided to come give my son a dirty look and clean it, he could have at least waited until we had gone. At this point i am holding back my tears because i am so angry and disgusted at this behaviour, if i had confronted them i would have exploded and the only reason i held back is because my dentist irum is amazing and i didn’t want to cause a scene, i told her how i felt and she was so comforting and made me feel better after speaking to her. I shouldn’t have to label my son or apologise for his behaviour when he isnt really doing anything wrong. He has very little understanding so if he is just looking through a window with his hand on it i rather let him do that than try to stop him and end up with him having a melt down!!

Fantastic experience: I was booked into Drake Dental practice by 111 as an emergency NHS patient after my filling fell out and my tooth broke... I was seen by Dr Khan and I honestly cannot speak highly enough of him, I have had an irrational fear of dentist since visiting another dentist in the borough around 9 years ago after my original dentist retired and sold his practice - I left the Drake Dental practice yesterday having restored faith in dentists... Fantastic experience: I've been a patient at Drake Dental Practice for over 40 years and have always enjoyed excellent care. I have been treated for many years by Dr Ahassan Khan and can't speak highly enough of his superb clinical skills and just as importantly his kind, caring and informative approach which inspires confidence and is always a positive experience. I've found all the staff at this practice to be unfailingly kind, pleasant and helpful with always a warm welcome at reception. During my most recent treatments, when I was fitted with veneers by Dr Khan, I was particularly grateful for the patience and kindness of Louise my nurse and the practice manager Susan. I am delighted with the result and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this practice.

Negative experience: Absolute rubbish practice with vile staff and management. All the manager does is sit and bad mouth the staff and patients. There have been plenty of staff over the years that have left. This is not professional. I was speaking with another patient in reception and I was told that the manager is a bully and very unprofessional. She looks very unapproachable and rough. This is not the face of who you would want to represent a practice. The staff stand around the reception area swearing and shouting.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been with Drake for over 7 years and have been very happy with my appointments and treatments. I have always found staff approachable and helpful, waiting times are minimal and the dentists I have seen (usually Michelle) are friendly and make you feel at ease. My teenage daughter had an appointment today and felt comfortable enough to go in by herself even though she was having fillings!

Fantastic experience: Wouldn’t go anywhere else for our dentist now. Michelle is a fab dentist. Lexi the reception is always excellent. Goes out of her way to always ensure we are booked in together as a family, and she’s always amazing and so welcoming to my little boy when we come into the clinic. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Went for a check up with my little boys, upon arrival, reception staff were quite friendly and had me seated. I wasnt waiting too long before we were sent up to the dentist, she seemed nice and was really good with my kids, calming their nerves while checking their teeth, all in all, a good experience, cant complain.

I would like to say how impressed and fantastic Haseed was with me he made me feel comfortable and at ease. He also explained to me in depth what work I need doing. I see Dr. Khan for dental treatment and he always gives the best advice and looks after my teeth well. Negative experience: Experience here has been hit and miss I'm afraid to say. It seems to be dependant on the staff working on that particular day. I've had some horrible experiences with patronising, condescending and down right rude receptionist staff, to some remarkable, friendly staff. It's unfortunate that there isn't consistency in how clients are treated whilst making, and waiting for appointments. Nothing but respect for the dentists, but the receptionists could do with training about positive engagement with clients whilst waiting.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient here since Mr Amos first started the practice (when I was a young child, I'm now 42). Now my whole family attends here. I have nothing but praise for my treatment over the years but especially following a recent diagnosis of autism and sensory processing disorder. Negative experience: I have been at this practice for years and I don’t recommend it to anyone as it has gone downhill because of negative people at the practice - to be concise, staff like the practice manager - I was gobsmacked at what I heard during my last visit whilst waiting to be seen by my dentist & how the practice manager could be such a bad influence to others - this behaviour put me off soon as I walked in & made myself feel very self conscious - very unprofessional behaviour by the practice manager who was talking about people to the usual girl on reception - worst part is she was agreeing to everything what was being said and adding to it - i have heard stuff about her before by my other family members but I didn’t believe them until my last visit where I heard it myself. I am only still part of this practice as the dentist I see is a lovely guy who always puts the patients first - as I have other family members I have had to post this anonymously as I fear we will all be targeted by the negative staff members

Fantastic experience: Dr Michelle Drew is probably the best dentist I've ever seen. She really wants you to be as comfortable as possible and get the results you expect. Can't recommend any higher tbh

Negative experience: Great dentist if you can actually get in. Had 5 appointments cancelled within a month. Update: appointments booked months in advance were canceled again . Seems like going private is the only option now .

Positive experience: 5 star for the dentist, Mohammed Abdul Razak, in a class of his own. He is thoroughly professional, friendly & capable. With other dentists, over the years, I have experienced some horror stories but there is no hesitatation & I'm willingly putting on record. Mohammed Abdul Razak is by far the best I have ever come across. His hand skill set is impeccable, he's confident and knowledgeable which in turn means you're relaxed knowing you're in good hands. 2/3 star for the staff. Constructive criticism. Staff are the face of any 'business' and must remain aware. Not all the staff are as corteous or respectful as they 'should be' (hence 2/3 stars). If one is exempt from wearing a mask for example, show some respect towards that person, don't discriminate, just because you 'have to ask' doesn't mean you have to enforce a 'law' (that doesn't exist) or that you talk down to them. That said, I know the practise is approachable & willing to learn in order to improve (reading the responses to other reviews). I run a business so I'm fully aware how difficult it is to keep everyone content. I'll be looking to introduce my family to the practise because of Mohammed Abdul Razak. Thank you! Fantastic experience: Yesterday was the third time I went to see Muhammad I can HONESTLY say he is a caring professional dentist great ASSET for this practice !!!

Negative experience: made an appointment on 23rd July for 11th of August was changed to 16 August because Dentist got Covid Been told other dentist got covid so cancelled again but have to wait until 21st Septmber.. Why do I have to wait so ling... surely everybody else has to wait in the que? So if both dentsit are not seriously ill then it should be a 10 day wait??? Whats going on...? Within 5 phone calls I got an meditate consultation in Middleton. Having tooth extraction, filling and clean with in 3 weeks.
