Positive experience: Very friendly competent staff. Two teeth were extracted. My only niggle is that the advice given for tooth socket bleeding following teeth removal was a little inadequate in my case. The emergency dental service number given to me does not operate at night and 111 did not come back to me with a call from a clinician.

Fantastic experience: I was referred here after a tooth broke during an extraction. I was seen quickly, despite arriving early. All of the staff were polite and friendly. The dentist completed the earlier, failed, extraction with relative ease, and no pain.

Fantastic experience: Was referred here from my own dentist to remove what was left of a wisdom tooth. A very friendly receptionist greeted me and I was shown to a waiting room. Every member of staff who passed me, were very courteous and the surgery looked really clean and bright. The dentist clearly explained what was going to happen and the dental assistant was very clear on aftercare. What I anticipated would be a tricky removal, took seconds. Besides the antiseptic, I did not feel a thing. I would highly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: Amazing caring and professional service received today from Sharon Johnson the hygienist and Kyra the dental nurse at Sandes Avenue Dental Practice. Having had a previous bad experience at another dentist a few years ago, I have always been very nervous attending the dentist. Sharon put me immediately at ease and explained the treatment being provided. A fabulous dental practice which I can’t recommend highly enough!

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to the practice for a while now and it is the most welcoming, professional, relaxing and efficient practice I have ever been too. From the Reception staff, the Hygenist and assistant to the dentist and assistant. They are all professional and helpful. Today I saw Antoinette today which was lovely. The Hygienist is, quite frankly, astonishing. Every visit he exudes calm and professionalism and does an amazingly good job. No hurrying you out the door, but a first class practice who gets to know, and has time for their patients. I had no need to let my dentist anxiety creep in! Thank you all. Mairi Illsley

Negative experience: Similar situation to the last review, had routine check up, everything fine, went to the hygienist a day later who broke one of my fillings, was basically told it wasn't their fault & would be chargeable. Wasn't happy with the way the situation was dealt with so unfortunately, decided to leave the practice which was a shame as the care I had received up to that point was very good & my teeth had never been better

Negative experience: Had a check up on Thursday16th (everything was good) Then on Tuesday the 23rd had a dental hygienist appointment, where he pulled out one of my fillings (he didn't mention he had done so till I mentioned it didn't feel right at the end of the appointment) should have been mentioned straight away. Then I was told I would need another appointment to get this fixed, asked at reception if I would be charged, and she said they will explain on Thursday, (I should have asked more here but just assumed there would me some type of discount) Today's appointment and filling was completed they tried to charge me £235 They reduced to £195 but I'm really not please at all with the outcome or how this happened But I was in a rush and couldn't stand around and argue my case anymore But they just say it's not there fault and out fillings (not that old at all) Very disappointed in this side of the service. Fantastic experience: My appointment was for my 6-monthly checkup & visit to the Hygienist. I wasn't looking forward to the latter because of a very sensitive area in my mouth. But my dentist explained the problem to the Hygienist who made sure that he was very gentle there. I also have another appointment with my dentist to resolve the problem. Very satisfied with this outcome.

Fantastic experience: After a significant period of time not seeing a dentist due to a fear and bad experiences as a child, a broken tooth forced me to re-register. My anxiety was through the roof on the day of my Root canal treatment but wow what a fool I felt afterwards! The whole experience was completely pain free, my fears were managed sensitively and I was well informed about both the actual treatment and the costs to be incurred at all times. So after years of hiding away from the world of dentistry I’ll be more than happy to re visit for my next appointment and would absolutely recommend Mr Malik to anyone seeking a dentist. Don’t leave it to fate like me! It’s just absolutely not a scary place to go xx

Fantastic experience: I was referred by my own dentist to have an impacted wisdom tooth removed. I was worried as to how much pain I would be in following the extraction and how long the extraction process was going to take. I was shocked at how easily the dentist popped it out, he is obviously very experienced and knew exactly what he was doing. All the staff were so friendly and put me at ease.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Sandes Dental Practice by my own dentist due to a problematic wisdom tooth that required extraction. Unfortunately the root was very close to the nerve and required a specialist to do the procedure. Once all my X-rays etc had been sent the practice contacted me and booked me in the next day. My appointment with Dr Arfan Iqbal went smoothly. The wisdom tooth was extracted without any issues . Everyone made me relax and confident that I was in the right place for the procedure.

Fantastic experience: I had an implant procedure and as this was my first experience I was a bit nervous. Checking in with the lovely reception staff and checking the health questionnaire. I was then met by such a wonderful nurse who instantly put me at ease reassuring me of how the procedure was going to be ok joining me in the surgery and assisting. Next in the safe hands of Dr Afran Iqbal who lead and carried out the procedure with his usual air of professionalism and style. Assisted by another lovely and attentive nurse. The nurses names are Katy and Lauren. I would without any hesitation recommend Sandes for any dental treatment but particularly implants as my experience was painless and enjoyable.I am also having invisalign to straighten my teeth as well as fixing chips with composite bonding. All these procedures are amazing and what price do you put on a smile !! Thank you so much for everything. Mike

Performed in a relaxed and efficient manner by an obviously experienced dentist who put me at ease from the start. A job well done and much appreciated.

I have a phobia of visiting a dentist and it took me almost a year to pluck up the courage to register with them. I am so glad I did. Dr Malik is superb. His calm, confident and friendly manner put me at ease straight away. He has such empathy for nervous patients. Every step of the treatment is clearly explained and he takes as much time as you need The dental nurses who helped with my treatment, Lauren and Kyra, were fantastic and did everything they could to help me feel relaxed. JP and the other wonderful staff at Reception are warm, welcoming and so helpful. I shall never enjoy going to a dental appointment, but this is the best experience of a dental practice I have ever had.

Along with a care plan, I have had an assortment of fillings, crowns and a bridge and am more than happy to recommend this dental practice which has an attentive, caring and very professional team.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Sande's Avenue from my own NHS dentist, they phoned in the morning and asked if they could pull my appointment forward an hour which suited me, arriving very nervous about having a wisdom tooth removed. The guys on the counter were lovely and reassuring, the assistant who was helping the surgeon was really friendly and supportive. The surgeon was very straight to the point, i think i was in and out within 10 minutes! i didnt even realise he had finished until i asked "was that it?!" I felt a bit queasy after due to the nerves. But again everyone was lovely! And apparently there was no bill to pay which was a bonus! Id defiantly recommend Sande's Avenue to anyone needing treatment. Thank you to all of you!

Fantastic experience: I first visited Dr Jam at Sandes in May 2024. After receiving an awful bridge by another dentist 7 years ago i was looking to have it replaced along with a crown and 2 vaneers. Dr Jam listened to my (long)list of requirements and concerns about future dental work with patience and kindness. He told me that if i wasnt happy with my new teeth they would go back to the lab to be changed and this would continue until i was 100% satisfied. When i went to have my old teeth removed he numbed my gums with cream before injecting as he knew how much i hated the injections. My teeth had to go back to the lab multiple times to be tweaked, however i am now thrilled with the result. Dr Jam and Evolution Dental Studio have given me my confidence and smile back - i cant thank them enough! Also would like to mention the lovely Elisha who was the dental nurse throughout my procedure. She was so lovely, friendly and reassuring to me when i was feeling nervous. I would highly recommend Sandes for cosmetic dental work!

Fantastic experience: Whilst on holiday in the Lake District, one of my teeth broke, leaving a jagged stump. I found Sandes on the Internet and called them. A very friendly and efficient receptionist offered me an "emergency appointment" the next morning. I was delighted. The dentist was excellent - he managed to fill the hole created by the breakage and left my tooth feeling back to normal. He advised that once back home, it would probably need a crown as there wasn't much tooth left. The whole team were very friendly and efficient and I was able to carry on eating normally for the rest of my holiday. Thank you team Sandes!
