Fantastic experience: I found this clinic about three years ago, and honestly, walking in that day was one of the best decisions I’ve made. The whole team has always been really helpful and friendly, and they make you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. A big thank-you to my dentist, Dr. Oliviera. She’s not only a very talented and professional dentist, but also a genuinely great person. She helped me through my long teeth-straightening journey (almost two years!), and the results are even better than I imagined when I started. Negative experience: I had a really disappointing experience with Dr. Maria. She assured me that she could fix my dental issue, but unfortunately, the result was the opposite. Not only did the problem remain unresolved, but the situation got worse. I’m now having to seek out another dentist to fix the damage. I’m sharing this anonymously, not out of malice, but to hopefully prevent others from going through a similar experience.

Fantastic experience: I've been meaning to write a review for a while on my experience of having my teeth straightened with The Dentists Old Market. I had fixed braces for around 18 months with Kain (Dr Rowling). I was a bit nervous to have fixed braces in my late twenties but I got used to them really quickly and had no issue at all. The reason I went with Kain over other dentists/orthodontists is that he listened to me, took into consideration facial aesthetics and was also honest about what we could achieve, and what would look best for me - so it was very personalised care. Kain is definitely a perfectionist so he didn't rush any appointments or the general timeline at all. The result is more than I could have expected and my confidence has grown so much, it is definitely one of the best decisions I've made and worth every penny - I actually smile with my teeth now. The dental assistants are also super friendly and helpful, I think I saw Claire and Maddy the most, who were both great. I also previously had my bottom wisdom teeth surgically removed by Kain which was a quick and painless procedure, and I have my normal check-up/cleaning dental appointments there now. As someone who used to really not enjoy going to the dentists, I would 100% recommend this dental practice.

I had my first visit today and dentist Maria and assistant Chloe were absolutely amazing. They calmed me down and I had the best experience ever. Fantastic experience: I was lucky enough to be seen by Dr Sandra and her team to have my teeth whitened and neatened up with composite bonding, and couldn't be happier with the results. I also found that everything was communicated to me super clearly throughout the whole process, and everyone at the practice is extremely friendly and professional. After thorough research, I decided to go to The Dentist Old Market after seeing reviews and looking through their website. I emailed them, prior to my appointment, to let them know of the situation and how it affected me so that they had an awareness of my anxiety. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for more. Kate was absolutely lovely and her warm welcome made a huge difference! I then saw Freya and Molly who were amazing and took their time with me, checking to see how I was every now and then. Fantastic experience: I’ve been using this dental practice for several years now. I love the warm welcome I get. I have been able to get appointments that work for me. I love that all the members of staff have been super informative about dental health care and teach me how to take care of my oral hygiene better. I arrived today to a cheery welcome from the reception staff and I now have a new dental hygienist. This is the bit I loath but Millie made it a very pleasant experience. She talked me through every procedure and step and gave me lots more advice. Phew - glad that went well. I then went into my check up with shiny teeth and the dentist Jake checked my teeth over and I came out with a clean bill of health! Yay! Love you guys. Keep up the fantastic work.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had an infected hole in my tooth for a very long time i went to one dentist somewhere else they were very rude, impatient and blunt. They told me I needed a root canal or to get my tooth removed and gave me a ridiculous bill and sent me away without cleaning my tooth or anything. I found out about The Dentist from a family member and I’ll definitely be coming here more often. Dr Jake West and his assistant unfortunately I can’t remember her name has made me feel very comfortable. For my checkup they cleaned my infected tooth and told me to come back i decided to get it removed. They did it with great care and has given me good advice for healing

Fantastic experience: Sandra is the best dentist I have been to. Explained everything really well, is kind and thoughtful. During the original exam, she found that I could benefit from a gum guard, but at no point 'sold' it to me. Made me feel so at ease, that I nearly had a nap during my filling. The team are friendly, and I can see why they are award winning.

Sandra and the team were incredibly reassuring and friendly, and immediately put me at ease. I had a filling and Sandra somehow managed to do the injection without me feeling a thing. Fantastic experience: (Posting under a different account name so I can leave this place a review). I am so fortunate to have finally, for the first time in my life, found a good dentists with staff that are kind, caring and who actually listen to you and tale the time to explain things in a way you understand. I ended up here by accident due to needing an emergency dental appointment, and there being nothing available calling NHS first thing (only 9 appointments for the whole of Bristol and North Somerset!!). Luckily, they manged to fit me in an appointment and I arrived very stressed and in a lot of pain. Medical procedures are often difficult for me due to personal trauma and I was relieved to have women staff there seeing me and who were extremely patient and compassionate to me during my obvious stress. The exam room, unfortunately, was triggering for me in itself, but again the staff I saw were just incredible at keeping me calm and helping with the reasons I'd come to see them. I was so impressed with this place that I will now remain their patient. I even saw a hygienist for the first time here a few weeks later and I'm so happy with the result. Just a note that will hopefully not apply to too many women who may wish to go here as patients, but likely some. Please be aware that the ceiling in the exam room, with a fake blue sky, is the exact same as the one found at The Bridge Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC). I found it bought up a lot of emotion because it was a suprise to see it, so would rather people be aware who've had the awful experience of needing to go to The Bridge. I will say though that, even though looking at this ceiling was emotionally difficult, the staff there as a pro outweighed that negative and all the general negatives of needing dental exams and work done. I really would recomend this place to anyone with fear of dentists or those with trauma from medical procedures or SA.

Negative experience: I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with dentist Maria Picazo, which left me feeling disheartened and dissatisfied with her services. I arrived on time for my appointment, only to be kept waiting for a staggering 20 minutes. This delay was highly inconvenient and disrespectful of my time. During the appointment, I informed Maria Picazo about my concerns regarding a decaying tooth that needed fixing and requested to have a filling replaced. To my dismay, she disregarded my explicit request and only booked me in for a single filling. This meant that, after waiting for such a considerable amount of time, I couldn't get the necessary treatment for my dental issues addressed. When I questioned Maria Picazo about this oversight, she responded with an unfounded excuse, claiming that she thought I wouldn't return for the additional treatment. This was a complete fabrication on her part, as I had clearly communicated that I would be back once my financial situation improved, albeit in a few months. Adding insult to injury, Maria Picazo attempted to shift the blame onto me for the inaccuracies in the treatment plan and pricing. She claimed that the pricing she initially provided was incorrect and demanded an additional £50 per tooth, making it seem as if I was responsible for their mistake. This manipulation of the situation was unprofessional and an attempt to evade accountability for their own errors. Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that Maria Picazo herself had suggested the idea of addressing multiple teeth during our conversations leading up to the appointment. Despite my repeated affirmations of this plan when making the appointment, she conveniently disregarded our previous discussions and failed to honour her own recommendations. In conclusion, my experience with dentist Maria Picazo was marred by unprofessionalism, poor communication, and an overall lack of consideration for my dental needs. Her inability to fulfil my requests, her baseless excuses, and her attempt to shift blame onto me demonstrate a severe lack of professionalism and competence. I strongly advise others to exercise caution when considering Maria Picazo as their dentist, as my experience suggests that she may not prioritize the well-being and satisfaction of her patients.

Fantastic experience: I came here to see Dr Maria upon recommendation from a friend, after my previous dentist in Bristol refused to carry out root canal on a very painful tooth which needed treatment. She is extremely thorough, patient, precise (she located a crack in my tooth which my other dentist didn’t see) and I really felt like I was in good hands under her care. After a successful root canal & crown fitting my tooth is SO much better , and I cannot thank her enough! 100% recommend as one of the best practises in Bristol! The receptionists are great , and booking appointments has always been easy and fuss free.

Fantastic experience: I went to The Dentists Old Market because I had an awful and unbearable pain in one tooth and my face was swollen. They gave me an appointment for the same day and the service given was outstanding. Dr. Oliveira and the nurse were very professional and very helpful. She prescribed me some antibiotics as I had an infection and I couldn’t be happier. The ladies in reception were also very nice and helpful. Highly recommended and worth the money!!

Fantastic experience: I went to The Dentists Old Market to have two Implants fitted. I was seen by Dr Steven Ho. Dr Ho explained in great detail the process, timeline and cost. I felt immediately comfortable and relaxed. I had many visits over a few months because of the healing needed and at all my appointment Dr Ho was meticulous with my treatment making me feel comfortable and painfree. After having my implants fitted my confidence was restored to smile again. I highly recommend Steven and will continue as a future patient.

Fantastic experience: I first joined the Practice in the late 1980s and apart from a brief hiatus have been a patient ever since. My children and I have always received excellent quality advice and treatment. I recently needed to address long-standing damage to a front tooth with a veneer needing to be fitted and a crown replacement to the adjacent tooth. The attention to detail to achieve the best result was second-to-none. I have recently relocated to Cornwall, so have registered with a local Practice but would recommend Old Market Dental Practice to anyone wishing to receive top notch dental treatment from professional, friendly staff. Happily, I am able to remain on the patient register in case of urgent treatment being needed when visiting the area....what more could I ask!?

Negative experience: They charge differently the British citizens to those who are non British. They charge more and in advance if you come from abroad, no matter how many times you have visited the practice and if you have lived for decades in the UK. Moreover they are rude,dismissive and when you face them with what they have done, they have no arguments to prove you otherwise. To cut a long story short they only see you as money and not as a human being.

Kain managed my expectations throughout the whole process and managed to achieve exactly what I wanted whilst retaining a very natural look. Negative experience: They charged me A LOT of money after my appointment without letting me know how much it would be. Crazy amount for not having a previous warning.

Fantastic experience: I’m very nervous of the dentist after a traumatic experience as a child and as such haven’t visited one in 7 years. I’ve now had initial check-up, x-ray and hygienist here. Seen by Sandra and Carriann and I can not say how wonderful they both were. They explained everything they did in detail, let me ask any questions, calmed my nerves and I can not thank them enough for a fabulous service. Already booked my return visit in 6 months. Thanks again.

Negative experience: Incompotent - could not find a crack in my tooth that is still causing me pain.

Fantastic experience: I booked into The Dentist as I chipped my two front teeth and was experiencing some pain from the caps placed by a previous dentist and it also impacted my confidence. After an initial consultation with Dr. Ho I immediately felt comfortable with what he proposed and after several appointments my teeth look amazing and I have so much more confidence, more importantly pain free! Dr. Ho is personable and has a meticulous attention to detail. He describes each part of the process with you and ensures that you’re comfortable as the sessions go on. The reception and support staff are excellent and a real testament to an overall great experience (as far as wishing to go to the dentist)! The Dentist offers an affordable plan that covers a scale and polish twice a year and two check ups (amongst other benefits too). The scale and polish with the hygienist is equally personable and does a fantastic job. I found the Dr. Ho ensures that he is always delivering his best work, for example, I had a crown fitted and it took a couple fittings as he wanted to ensure the colour matched my teeth as accurately as possible, this was a nice touch. Overall, it’s a fantastic dentist, I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else, take a look at my before and after photos. They’re a testament to Dr. Ho and the teams work. Thanks again, Adam.

Fantastic experience: I had my first hygienist appointment with Suzanne this morning and it was a really good experience. My initial appointment was a few weeks ago but there was a little mix up, it got dealt with quickly and professionally and was rescheduled no problem. I felt super comfortable and relaxed from the start. Suzanne is really friendly and great at her job, my teeth are sparkling and I was well looked after. I'm a smoker and drink coffee so I do get a little nervous in case I get told off but Suzanne just gave me good advice and didn't judge. The surgery is clean and organised. I'm a new patient but I will definitely be returning for regular cleans and check ups in the future. Thank you Suzanne and all the team :)

Fantastic experience: I cannot thank Kain and the team more for my new smile! I had fixed braces (six month smile) and whitening and I literally couldn't be happier! All of the staff are amazing and Kain is incredible, he is a total perfectionist so I knew I was in very safe hands, and he constantly made me feel at ease, knowing that we would get the perfect result. I can't stop grinning. I would recommend to anyone! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
