Fantastic experience: I can't praise Craigentinny dentist enough really. Aesthetics with Jill 10/10 and dentistry with Callum 10/10. All the staff including reception, nurses, dentists are pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. My children (now adults) have gone to this dentist since their first tooth appeared. They have never had any issues at all.

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend Craigentinny Dental Care highly enough. I have been a patient with the practice for a few years now and the entire team are wonderful and make visiting the dentist an enjoyable experience. A huge thank you to Jill and Callum who have helped me greatly with my oral health. Both of them are so kind, knowledgeable and really make you feel at ease. Another thanks to the dentists who have seen me for emergency appointments. I am incredibly grateful for all of their care and for always seeing me so quickly. Negative experience: The Dental Care do not book patients. Do not respond to calls and emails. Reception doesn't do what has been requested. After 5 years I can say they pick up what they want and what they won't do for you. They try black mail you because they believe they only one. At the moment they lost a lot of money because they attitude I hope they got one day what they deserve. Not recommended. Look for different dentist.

Fantastic experience: In 2024 I requested a consultation with Odhran McNicholl to discuss crown replacements and some cosmetic work. My smile you could say was lacking and frankly so was my confidence. Odhran made an assessment and gave me a report of the work required to gain best results on a 3 option approach plus the relative costs for each option and the timeframe from start to finish. I was genuinely interested but the one thing that held me back was anxiety about the crown preparation as I had bad experiences in the past . Despite Odhran’s assurances that I wouldn’t feel any pain I had cold feet and pulled out … After a week of reflection I spoke with Odhran again and decided to go- ahead. The appointments were planned out over a 4- month period. I used the whitening procedure for about a month, to get to a level I was happy with and then the crown preparation appointment took place . Odhran did state I wouldn’t feel anything and after 4 hours in the “chair” I can honestly say I didn’t feel any discomfort. Fast forward to Dental work completion and I must say I am delighted with the result. Odhran is the consummate professional in his approach and supported by the attentive dental nurses. He managed my expectations perfectly. This In itself gave me confidence and a trust that I was in safe hands. I now smile a lot more and my confidence has definitely increased.. it’s been quite transformational. I I definitely recommend Craigentinny Dental Care. Kind Regards Gordon Walker

Negative experience: I came in for a consultation for new composite veneers as I’d had them done 10 years previously at this practice, I’d had an implant at another dentist 6 years previously and I also have my main non cosmetic dentist that I’ve been going to since I was a kid, you basically put me out the practice insinuating I go from dentist to dentist and told me to stick with my non cosmetic dentist! I was really upset as I’d done my research at the cosmetic dentist I’d been too not just going to any old dentist! I came back to your practice as I’d been happy with the previous work , not that I’d step foot into your practice again, you don’t deserve my hard earned cash!

Fantastic experience: My family and I have been with Fraser and the team here for just short of 30 years. He is a fantastic dentist, and simply a warm, genuine person who has your health and wellbeing as his primary concern. His dad jokes are pretty good too. The admin staff are wonderful, as are the hygienists. The ethos within the practice is one of relaxed hard-work, friendliness and empathy. The latest treatment I've received to help me with sleep apnoea has been a game-changer for me. I can't praise, thank or recommend this practice highly enough. SIX stars!

Fantastic experience: Thank you Fraser Hendrie and Nadir Khan for my Top Jaw implants! Nadir for his excellent success in finding a robust placement for my 4 implants, not an easy task given my age and gum condition, and Fraser for his tireless extensive efforts to create my top Jaw Bridge. I approached Craigentinny Dental Care to investigate the possibility of providing me with full Top Jaw implants (All-on-4 Implants) with great trepidation, not least due to the significant financial cost of such a decision. From the first appointment for a scan Fraser inspired confidence which grew over the coming months with his exceptional and approachable manner. Through our many discussions on dentistry and exceptional detail of my choices along the journey, it was clear that Fraser had a desire to constantly strive for perfection and to provide a comprehensive offering at Craigentinny Dental Care in line with “best current practice” in the dentistry field. Along with his very person-centred approach, it was abundantly clear that I had made the right decision! Fraser’s attitude and aptitude is reflected throughout the team and I thank the entire team, from my regular Dentist, Jennifer Patterson, along with all the Dental Nurses, Hygienists and reception team, -too many to name individually but you know who you are- for making this a pleasant journey (yes- actually was!). I can now eat normally - and as a bonus, smile - with confidence, which has been missing in my life for at least 10 years. Negative experience: Trusted the dentist at the start the receptionist was moody did not feel right waiting room was not comfortable school chair bland boring decor now about the dentist at the time who did treatment on my tooth messed it up I am still traumatised till today even though was approximately 5 years ago not sure what learner did my tooth removal he even made my jaw bone expose that was a killer had to get stitches and was told by another dentist at different clinic that tooth could had been saved so I do not trust this dentist at Craigentinny ever again.

Fantastic experience: I needed an emergency appointment today and Rachel was so wonderful and reassuring on the phone. I felt calm and taken care off. I was treated by Jennifer and she was warm, friendly and kind. I felt completely taken care off at every step. A most wonderful practice and I send great gratitude to the team today.

Negative experience: Utterly appalling dental practice. Tried to book an appointment a few days ago and was advised that they would no longer be taking appointments from me because I had missed an appointment in February...I DID NOT book an appointment in February nor was I notified that an appointment had been made. Upon advising of this mistake I was told that they had spoken to the dentist and he had stated that he would not be accepting any bookings from me. Disgusting behaviour for a dental practice which claims to care for those with dental phobias. I would strongly advise that anyone looking for a caring dentist in Edinburgh contact Cherrybank Dental Spa because Craigentinny is on a downhill slope.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this practice for a few years now. I finally decided to have some cosmetic dental work done on my teeth. It was quite a lot of work I had done. I have to say, from start to finish, Fraser was absolutely brilliant. Everything was planned out to make sure I was truly happy before we proceeded to the next stage. The difference in my smile is unreal! I am so glad I went ahead with the treatment, I no longer need to cover my mouth when I’m laughing and smiling. It has really boosted my confidence. Fantastic experience: After an unfortunate accident I was recommended this dentist practice by a friend. It has been the best recommendation anyone has given me. From first consultation through to a dental implant and post care everything has been honest giving me choices based on dental conditions /cost /future. And during treatment I've felt far more pain stubbing my toe than getting a screw in my jaw for an implant. I was going to say special thanks to Fraser (dentist), the dental nurses (I'm not a great patient) and the hygienists (who have got my teeth in amazing condition considering I hadn't seen a dentist in 10+yrs) and the reception staff (for working around my shifts) but I think that's the whole practice so, aye, I wholeheartedly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I have only ever put a review on here once before when i first joined craigentinny practice but i felt i had to put up another review after my experience during lockdown. I have had ongoing issues with 2 teeth which started in March and i have probably seen more dentists during this time than ever before but i cant praise this place high enough. Thanks to Fraser and Elidi who helped me the best they could with what they were allowed to do at the time and bide me some more time until nhs dentistry can use drills again, and to finally have a filling replaced today was such a relief. First class service and fantastic staff

Negative experience: Booked an emergency appointment for my 5yr old and tried to book one for myself to see if my plate would get fixed afyer the botched job done to it havent been able to wear my plate since. But that i can handle even the ridiculous charges for appointments i missed tht i never made. But even isnt the worst. The so called appointment i made for my 5yr old son cause of very painful toothache and will only see one dentist who he will let do anything. Having soft enamel on his teeth was bad enough but the appointment i was given for him some how didnt even get booked. All this after i complained about dentist bringing personal stuff to work and it affected he work ruined my plate and made my son suffer in pain. Taking it out on me is one thing but messing up a 5yr olds emergency appointment who will only see one specific dentist wont even go to hospital only wants the one dentist do any work. But was told a time and well now its a long night and thn hope tht i can get him to see a new practice first thing. Since its clear my 5yr isnt welcome because i refuse to pay for missed appointments. You lose faith in someone especially when my history with dentist is be issue all my life due to needle being snapped in my mouth as a child. And you definitely dont take personal stuff to work were it affects your patients. Haven't been able to wear my plates since before xmas. At a time like this my son in pain through childish action problems with me Not my 5yr old child. Dissapointed isnt the half it is hard for us to find a dentist tht can deal with myself and my family as there is health conditions that make getting treatment difficult for a member of my family. But to experience this taking it out on my son because i refused to pay the charge for appoinments i didnt make since i wasnt happy after my last visit and left it at that until today. And i get refused treatment due to outstanding charges. Just because i am on benifits you think i am not working but i am i work 24/7 as a full time career to a disabled person to which i am always treated as a 2nd rate client cause i dont pay for my dental treatment. I gave up my trade to care for soneone and am not even related. Byt after the treatment i gave recived today is unacceptable and poor excuses or lies wont change the fact I know and so did the person who took my call has made my 5yr suffer and who wont allow dental hospital to do anything but the one person tht he will allow to do the fillings he needs some how the appointment tht was given over the phone this morning well 12.19 this afternoon for later on after 3pm. Was double checking appintment at approximately 3.30pm and just to confirm the time and found out tht nothing was booked. Luckily phn call was made infront of support workers and calls are or could be recorded for there benifit. So spending tomz trying to find a new dentist.

Fantastic experience: I have a long standing fear of dentistry, which is related to a traumatic experience I had as a teenager. I have avoided going to the dentist for the last 40 years. However, earlier this year I could no longer ignore my dental health, as it started to affect my mental health quite badly. The dental phobia forum suggested that I get in touch with Craigentinny Dental Care. I did their fantastic online course and made an appointment. I have finished my treatment for now, and I can only say that it has been a life changing experience for me. I want to thank everybody at Craigentinny Dental Care for looking after me with so much care. I want to specially mention my dentist Fraser, who is a wizard as I didn't feel any pain at all during treatment. Amazing!!! I felt that he, and all the nurses who assissted him, really understood my anxiety and helped me to relax as much as possible. I thank them all very much. I can not recommend this Dental Practice highly enough!!!!

Fantastic experience: Initially joined the practice as a new patient following a sustained period of dental pain As an anxious patient i had avoided dental care for approximately five years but was driven by pain to seek attention My initaial appontment was John who was just the nicest person and really did make me feel at ease I did require to have a tooth extracted but he was extremely patient with me and did make me feel much calmer I then attended for routine check ups and started to feel much more confident in coming to the dentist I was so pleased with the care that i had received i decided to explore the option of dental implants for the tooth i had extracted plus a missing front tooth which i had previously had a crown and a bridge I made an appointment with Fraser to discuss this Like John he was kindness and patience itself The procedure was explained to me in full along with the reasons for each stage in the process as well as an outline of the timescale and cost of the implants At each appointment i was treated with great kindness and patience and am now the proud owner of beautiful implants that look totally natural. I must give a shout out to Alison the hygienist who educated and encouraged me about improving my dental hygeine So glad i chose this practice to visit when i needed emergency treatment as the whole team has restored my confidence in visiting the dentist If you are looking for a fantastic dental practice please choos Craigentinny dental practice i promise you that you will not be disappointed Many thanks to the practice for all their help and support and will continue to visit the dentist regularly now that i have found a great practice

Positive experience: my mother has been there ,she has never thought that ,having a tooth pulled.personally having sever phobia of the dentist, I was very scared to go,they helped me overcome my fear.but when they are done with you , they are really unfriendly and nervous .and the prices had a large jump , it was not reasonable.

Fantastic experience: I went to Craigentinny and have been looke after by Fraser Hendrix from the outset. I think time has flown; ( no looking back) I had once before been sedated to remove teeth; and Craigentinny was one of the few places I could find in Scotland specialising in nervous patients. Fraser looked after me he took me from being a patient that thought I needed to be sedated through to being fine sitting in the dental chair. I have had various dental treatments and have always been looked after with the upmost care. Such is the quality of the complete service at Craigentinny where Fraser the Dentist and Jill Sillence the Hygenist look after me so well. Fantastic experience: I had an old porcelain veneer replaced with a new bonded resin one as I was unhappy with the shape the old one. Absolutely thrilled with the result! Beautiful natural shape and colour, I can’t stop looking at my smile. Was a bit anxious about the work but Fraser and Marie put me at ease and took amazing care of me. Lovely dental practice too! I chose craigentinny on a recommendation and it’s definitely been worth the journey from Aberdeen for my cosmetic work!

Fantastic experience: I have recently had resin bonding treatment done at Craigentinny Dental Care and I am really impressed with the final results. I've been putting up with bad teeth for years and Dr Booth has restored my confidence in my smile. The process was somewhat lengthy, as I went through teeth whitening first, but I was explained clearly at all times what each step entailed. The doctor-patient communication was excellent, Dr Booth was ometiculous and professional, and the products used seemed to be of high quality. Overall I feel I was looked after with great care.

Fantastic experience: I can not express how happy I am to have found Craigentinny Dentist. My eldest daughter had a terrible experience with another dentist and refused point blank to go. I called Craigentinny Dentist I explained what had happened. From the minute we arrived Callum was so kind and professional he allowed her to go at her pace and to feel really comfortable before starting the extensive treatment that she required. My daughter now has no trouble going to the dentist and my youngest loves to go too. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: Miriam Figge killed part of me for ever and gone totally free with it as she knew she CAN! She drilled one of my main tooth and then was to busy earning money from other patients not giving me time for refilling the tooth until its broken and died! She knew I am voulenrable and depressed! A good case for her to learn her skill! The whole place and be so unfriendly when they done with you! The staff were as crul as the dentist. every time I feel the empty place on my mouth I send you another good luck Miriam! (updated on haloween 2018, a night to retell the real nightmare) I trusted Miriam Figge one of the dentists in this place I was unlucky to meet! She caused me long-term pain and finally ended up my tooth removed. I am trying to face her with justice right now. She was snubbed not even feeling sorry so far. Was I an object? A set of teeth to practice dental skills on. I learnt the lesson in a rough way, trusting so-called MY dentist is a natural feeling until they call the police on you when you are unable not to scream and cry! Kicking you out with a big scar in your mouth, lots of scars on your mind. Also be careful of what (your) the dentist is writing every time you visit them on your dental health record as I had the temporary filling fall out but was written on the record she came for having a headache and bad eyesight! The police asked me why did you not change your dentist when she kept you in wait for 5 weeks? Just like asking any victim why you...?

Fantastic experience: I've been a patient at Craigentinny for many years, both privately and now nhs. I've been taking my now 4 year old daughter along with me since she was 8 months old. I'm always happy to see her so confident and happy to visit the dentist. She is absolutely Callums number 1 fan, he is fantastic with her. I was the complete opposite growing up, regular visits to the dental hospital and having teeth removed at a young age left me anxious for a long time, so its important to me that her experience is positive, I'm delighted that she is having good experiences and Callums guidance on caring for her teeth is great and welcomed. The receptionists are so helpful and genuinely caring. I've had a few appoints over the years that they have managed to squeeze in and I've never been made to feel that it's too much trouble. It's a relaxed atmosphere, I've never been made to feel rushed. Callum is by far the best dentist I've had. I feel quite happy to attend appointments where previously I've been quite nervous : )

Fantastic experience: Many years ago, as a child, I had a horrendous experience at the local "dentist" which put me off dentists for many years. I was recommended to give Craigentinny a try and have no regrets. John and the team were so welcoming and made my first visit so relaxing that I decided to come back. The transformation that has been made to my teeth is nothing short of miraculous, I now smile all the time, just to show them off. Fantastic experience: If you have a fear of dentists, for whatever reason, this is the place to go. First, I highly recommend that you complete the Dental Fear Course online, and then pluck up the courage to phone for an appointment. Having not been to a dentist for six years, I was very nervous. However, I met with Fraser Hendrie, who was extremely understanding, and I now feel encouraged to take one step at a time to conquer my dental fear. From reading of other reviews, this seems to be a unique team of dentists, and I feel lucky to have found them.

Fantastic experience: There are many faces of dental fear, be it nervousness before an appointment or absolute terror and sickness at just a thought of the dentist (which was my starting point). I wished I could just say that they cured my fear forever, which is sadly not the truth and every visit still feels like a battle and with every step there is a new challenge, but that is not the point. The point is that facing a dentist can be such a vulnerable and uncomfortable place to be. It’s not just about fear but about shame, regret, social anxiety, feeling stupid and out of control.. who would enjoy that.. And you basically see people you don’t know at all and have to be open and honest about your fears (that maybe not even your closest loved ones know about) and their background and you temporarily put all your self worth into their hands in the hope that they would be kind and able to help you… So having a really safe dental place to deal with all of this is a great gift and can be life changing.. and this is exactly what Craigentinny is to me. I do not perceive them as a dental clinic but more as a house of kindness and care. All those moments of me acting like a child and feeling lost and they not even once did make me feel stupid or embarrassed. On the contrary, they are always supportive and respectful and make me feel like it’s ok to be struggling.. I remember dental treatment as something that is done to you by someone, but this is not how they work at all. It is more like a team work and being 100% supported at every step. And they do not treat your teeth, they treat you as a person and your anxiety is not seen as something that’s separate and a burden to the short term treatment but as something that deserves attention and a good approach in order for you to be able to cope with dental visits long term. I am seeing Fraser and he is just awesome.. it’s not only about putting me at ease through some kind words, it’s also about understanding the dynamics of fear and how to deal with it, finding out what works and what doesn’t and it is a kind of a step by step dental coaching. And the thing I am most grateful for is that he endures me at my worst and still allows me to come back. They also have this amazing e-course and ebook about beating dental fear and offer an email consultation which is a great start for anyone who is too scared to even get in touch with a dental practice (which was again my starting point). Honestly, if you have a deep dental anxiety or dental phobia, it won’t be easy or nice and you will have to bring up a good portion of will power and courage to solve the problem, but they are so supportive and amazingly experienced and put so much effort into helping nervous patients. Last piece of information: if you are one of the ‚almost crying on the phone‘, ‚panic attacks in the waiting room' or ‚freezing in a front of a dentist‘ - kind, don’t worry, they can deal with that too, I know what I am talking about.. :)

Fantastic experience: As a child, my fear of the dentist was something like a horror movie to me. It never changed as I got older. I then gave up attending the dentist due to the fear I had. One day I remember walking passed the Craigentinny Dental Practice. Thought, maybe I should give it one more try. I was shaking at the thought of going back and was shaking going for my appointment. After meeting Mr Booth and explaining my situation. I have now never looked back. The experience going is now more relaxing than worry. Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of John Booth for several years. When I first attended there my oral health was not good. John outlined the problems within my mouth in a very sympathetic manner and formulated a treatment plan that would restore my teeth and gums to full health. After treatment I was extremely pleased with the results and since then through regular appointments with John and one of the hygienists Jill, my oral health has been maintained to a first class standard.

Fantastic experience: I've been a patient at Craigentinny Dental practice since around 1990 after many years avoiding dentistry following a botched wisdom tooth extraction in my youth. It's simply a fantastic practice, and often feels more like visiting friends than going to the dentist! Everyone, from the reception staff to the dentists go that extra mile to create a warm and welcoming environment. which goes a long way towards allaying any waiting-room anxiety. As for the treatment itself, it's always been first-rate and accompanied by a comprehensive explanation of what's involved. My husband and son both attend, and although we live more than 50 miles from the practice, we wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: My son, who has Moebius Syndrome, has always had to take extra special care of his teeth. Under the professional care of John Booth, he recommended at 13 yrs old that George should have a brace fitted. He had months of wearing a retainer to adjust his bottom jaw by 10mm before the train track brace was fitted. After a year and a half of careful maintenance, the brace was removed. His teeth were beautifully straight and white apart from a tiny mark on his front tooth (not caused by any decay but kind of like a birthmark but in his tooth). Obviously after such a long period of taking extra special care of his teeth, my son asked if there was anything that could be done to remove the mark. John took time to explain the options to my son and I and has just completed a procedure to remove the stain. My son is over the moon and I would just like to pass on my heart felt thanks to John Booth and his amazing team.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient for about 12 years or more. Martin and Jill are my team and they are just the best! I have 100% faith I am in safe hands. On occasion I have seen other members of the team who have always been very courteous and you do feel very well looked after. The dental nurses (sorry are you still called that?!! Showing my age!) Are all great , so friendly and welcoming. And last but no means least and maybe the most important, the reception team, friendly, helpful and smiling... Oh and one last thing... the place is spotless!! Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Having severe phobia of the dentist I was very scared to go. I had been to another practice before who said I needed a root canal and 2 more fillings. As I am cannot afford private care my options were limited. Miriam was absolutely amazing! Not only did I not need a root canal, I also ended up paying way less than I had been quoted by the other practice. Miriam and her lovely assistant walked me through my options and put me at ease throughout and didn't mind taking it very slow and at a pace I felt comfortable. She always assured me we would stop if I wanted to. I have been to a lot of dentists in my life but this is the first where the numbing injection was entirely pain free and I didn't feel a thing of the procedure even with a big deep filling! I am so very very grateful to Miriam and her assistant for the wonderful care they have given me, It really does make a huge difference! Thank you so much

Fantastic experience: Several months ago, I was referred to Craigentinny Dental Practice by my regular dentist for root canal treatment. I have a strong needle phobia and am a nervous dental patient, so this type of procedure would be almost impossible for my regular dentist (who is not a sedation specialist) to complete on me. From the moment I met Martin and his team, they put me at ease, and together we worked out a plan for the sedation and treatment that was safe, effective and minimised my anxieties. Martin talked me through a range of options, taking into consideration my specific needs (impact of sedation medications on breastfeeding, etc). On the day of the appointment, the team at Craigentinny were comforting, professional and efficient. My husband, who was accompanying me, was kept engaged and informed about the treatment and how to care for me afterward. My own experience of the treatment was limited to the initial sedation process (a drink-which dramatically reduced my nervous reaction to the needle), because (as hoped for) I felt no pain and have no memory of the actual procedure. After the procedure, the team at Craigentinny kept in touch to make sure the treatment was effective and my experience was good. I felt listened to and well cared for throughout the whole process. I cannot recommend Martin and his team highly enough, especially to patients with severe anxiety or phobias. The fact that I have no apprehension about returning for further treatment (this time for a cracked molar) says it all!

Fantastic experience: After being scared of the dentist for many years, I contacted Craigentinny dental and from day one they made me feel calm and relaxed. Although I still have that slight fear, I actually look forward to going to the dentist now. Sedation was an amazing way for me to start my process of being in a dentist again so for anyone who is fearing the dentist or needing dental treatment I couldn’t recommend somewhere highly enough.

Fantastic experience: When I go to the dentist I look calm, but that belies the terror I feel. Martin Morley at Craigentinny Dental seemed to understand my fear and never did anything that I wasn't comfortable with. I had sedation for some treatment, it was an excellent option. Fantastic experience: I never had a phobia of the dentist and attended all my check-ups without any problems until more than a few bad experiences at my previous dental practice. I recently decided to register here after reading all the reviews. I've only attended 3 appointments so far and i can honestly say that Miriam is the best dentist ive ever had. I have been well looked after at each appointment with everything being explained to me beforehand and i can't praise Miriam enough. The reception team are friendly , welcoming and approachable and i wish i had registered here alot sooner :)

Fantastic experience: Everyone dislikes going to the dentist. But Callum and the team at Craigentinny Dental Care go out of their way to make sure you 'enjoy' visiting as much as possible. I've found their work to be excellent and they make sure you're okay after any treatment too. I'd recommend this dentist to anyone, especially those of us who aren't too keen on visiting.

Fantastic experience: I have been visiting Callum Ward at the practice and can honestly say he is the best dentist I've ever been to, previous to this I was a very anxious patient but he spends time making sure i know what's happening and feel at ease. I see Fraser and Jill (one of their hygienists) every 6 months between them and the rest of the team they make a dental examination into a nice relaxed experience. Fantastic experience: Have received only 5 star care from Martin and all of the team at Craigentinny. Due to a severe dental phobia I had not visited a dentist for over 20 years. Due to the patience, compassion, care and understanding I experience every visit, I can look forward to a future with healthy, attractive teeth, which really is a dream come true for me. A fantastic team for nervous and not so nervous patients alike. Can't recommend highly enough.

Fantastic experience: The staff are so friendly and helpful! I managed to chip a tooth and the dentists did a great job at repairing what I bought was unrepairable. The receptionist was sympathetic and managed to help fit me in at short notice even though it was not ideal for them. It was very much appreciated! Facilities are new and the whole experience just had a really lovely atmosphere (never thought that was possible in a dentist!)
