Positive experience: I am supposed to have 4 monthly hygienist appts but they are short staffed and put off the prebooked appts. Treatment is great- when you get it.

Fantastic experience: I had been suffering with pain from one of my back teeth which became infected, so I contacted the dentist. After an initial email exchange with Toby, I was prescribed antibiotics. As I work in Hove and couldn’t collect them myself, the team went out of their way to ensure I was still able to start the course promptly. Amazing service as always — so grateful for their help and professionalism!

As someone with extremely sensitive teeth, I have struggled for years to find a hygienist who could address my concerns without causing discomfort. However, Miranda was exceptionally patient and attentive, making sure to take on board my sensitivities and adjusting her approach accordingly. For the first time, I was able to undergo a cleaning without the pain and discomfort I had previously experienced. In addition, I was very pleased with the professional advice she provided regarding the gum problems I had a few weeks ago. Her recommendations were insightful and have made a significant difference in my oral health. I highly recommend Miranda Steeples to anyone in need of a caring and considerate hygienist. Fantastic experience: I have been attending this dental practice for several years. I have a very complicated set of problems with my teeth and have had extensive work carried out at this practice. All the staff are very professional and use all the modern up to date equipment and procedures. I always hated my visits to the dentist but since attending West Terrace I know I am in good hands and relatively pain free !! I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my family have been seeing Mr Trowhill for nearly 20 years. I used to have a fear of dentists but he is such a fantastic dentist all my fears have gone! Sue the hygienist is also amazing and I recommend this dental surgery to all my friends. The longest I’ve had to wait in the waiting room is 5 minutes, you get seen for the time you have booked and all the reception staff are really friendly. Brilliant dental surgery

Fantastic experience: Having had some not very good experiences with dentists, I came to West Terrace about 15 years ago. With just the right measure of professionalism, the staff are very helpful and friendly and Toby immediately made me feel at ease. I have had to have many visits and after the years of fear and trepidation with previous dentists, I now look forward to my appointments. Having had the misfortune of periodontal disease and a dread of losing my teeth, I now have implants, and dentures, and am quite comfortable with it all, purely because of the expertise and care I receive from Toby and the practice team. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough. Ten stars perhaps?

Fantastic experience: Very helpful and polite customer service at the front desk. All our family attend the practice. My 6yr old is always made to safe and at ease, his dentist is always very good with him. We use the hygienist also, so it's great to get all the services under 1 roof. Had my first crown this year and it was all very comfortable and easy. The tooth feels great too.

Negative experience: Not for orthodontic treatment. My particular case wasn't successful. After being discharged and visiting another dentist to continue my treatment, they advised me that the work wasn't properly done. I was left to chew with my front teeth instead of with my back teeth. The upper and lower arch don't come together as they should. Not to mention that I was left with gaps and crooked teeth making my mouth looking smaller of what it already is. After all, I myself also did realise that something wasn't done well, and to date I don't have a beautiful smile because of their poor work. Now I am wearing braces again to correct their mistakes.

Fantastic experience: I should have done this review months and months ago… Apologies I have been coming to West Terrace Dental Practice for quite a few years now after my previous dentist retired. All the staff are very friendly and the practice felt up to date and very clean. I knew that there was a bit of work/ improvement to be done and a friend recommended me to Toby. I was instantly made to feel at ease with his friendly and professional approach along with a good understanding of what my journey would be going forward. After a few repairs and a replacement crown I knew that there was a big job that needed to be addressed but not until my teeth were the healthiest they could be! After some hygienist appointments and some very particular cleaning methods and attention to detail I was able to have an implant after a tooth had died and had to be removed. I was devastated to have a tooth removed but with Toby taking care of my oral health I was introduced to Greg to start the journey of a brand new shiny tooth! It took a few months and every stage was so thorough, careful and calm it wasn’t a bother at all. I am absolutely delighted with the result and can’t thank the whole team enough! You really are the BEST around! Thank you !

Fantastic experience: I visited this practice on recommendation from a friend. First impressions, friendliness, calmness and cleanliness. From childhood I had issues with my teeth, as I grew older it seemed the only way was to have the teeth I had left removed, and a complete set of teeth made. I had not come to this decision lightly, I'd had numerous badly fitting partial plates. Frightened to eat, talk even smile because they'd bounce up and down nearly choking me. Toby refused total extraction convincing me there was still life in my own teeth. WOW....what can I say except Best Christmas present ever! He fitted a new partial denture and I have been able to wear them in comfort and without fear. Thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a Denplan patient for a few years now and have enjoyed hassle free service and a very high standard of dentistry but only recently really put it to a proper test as I had bad toothache on one of my impacted wisdom teeth and as I was travelling away to the Far East in only 4 days time I really needed it sorted plus I didn’t have a lot of availability due to a very busy work schedule. Anyway, after a simple discussion with the excellent and very understanding receptionist I was booked in to see the hygienist later in the same day after work. Thankfully the hygienist was able to thoroughly clean the tooth and remove the food debris from deep within my gum and within a couple of days in felt perfect again! This practice has far exceeded my expectations which isn’t easy as I know I’m one of the more demanding patients. Thank you and see you soon. For anyone reading this that wants to be treated well with something that none of us really like this is the practise for you ;)

Fantastic experience: I have only been a patient here for a few years, as changed from my old dentist, who I wasn’t happy with, on recommendation. West Terrace must be doing something right as I travel from SE London twice a year for check ups and to see the hygienist! Always welcomed with a smile from the very pleasant receptionists, the practice is clean and tidy and not too clinical! I have seen 3 dentists out of the 4 (due appointment logistics) and all have been attentive and gentle, the hygienists are also full of great advice to help maintain healthy teeth in between appointments.
