Fantastic experience: Had not been to a dentist for many years and was filled with trepidation at thought of an extraction. However Sarah was brilliant - very reassuring and she did an excellent job!!! Reception team then looked after me and gave me glasses of water and an energy tablet. I am now joining the practice and feel confident of any future dental work. Thank you again ☺️

Fantastic experience: Me & my husband recently joined Brucegate dentist. Receptionist was very helpful and arranged an appointment for 3 days later for both of us for a check up with Kim Kerr on the Friday. I am nervous at dentists but Kim was brilliant, very gentle and explained everything she was doing. I needed a filling and got an appointment for the Monday, Once again Kim took her time and I never felt a thing. Would definitely recommend this dental practice.

Fantastic experience: Delighted. Absolutely delighted with the treatment I have just undertaken from Kim Kerr who used her new skill and training in hypnosis to give me the best possible experience. Her use of hypnosis was amazing. Taking me to a peaceful state of mind and giving me the confidence to relax and undergo what was 2 difficult extractions. My anxiety level was zero due to the preparation work she did with me and the treatment was as though I was not even in the dentist chair. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this new service that Kim is offering if you are even slightly nervous anxious or traumatised by the dental experience many of us suffer. I came away completely satisfied, relaxed and fixed. My fear of any future work has now been dissolved due to the hypnotherapy Brucegate now offer.

Fantastic experience: Delighted with the service that this Dental Practice provides: my wife and I are both on an insurance policy managed by the practice, which gives us peace of mind, and effectively, free treatment and two check-ups each year. - It's well worth the monthly premium! What's more, the staff are fabulous in my opinion too; from Jackie and Andrea on reception, with a kindly and professional style the moment you walk in, to Kim & Sarah et al, the practice dentists and their peers, together with all the dental assistants, (Sky, Abby, Emma, Amy and others I can't remember!), plus all hygene and support staff, etc. Excellent, a first class practice!

I have been coming to this practice for a good few years now and have nothing but good to say about them, all the staff are lovely.

Before proceeding with anything Richard fully explained everything to me and always checked that I was okay. On arrival the ladies on the front desk were also lovely and friendly. Fantastic experience: Wish I could give more than 5*’s! After recently moving to the area, I was not registered with a dentist. I called at 8am and by 15:30, my root canal (was painless) was over! From reception to the dentist and dental nurse, everyone was lovely and friendly. I am a nervous patient but this is the best experience I have ever had with a dental practice and feel so less nervous for future appointments. Big thank you to all the team!

The girls greet you on arrival and engage in a bit of banter while you are waiting to see wonder woman alias Sarah the dentist. I was so lucky the day I managed to get onto their waiting list and will be forever grateful for that especially in view of the current shortage of dentists. Fantastic experience: Dentistry at its best! Patient of Dr Swales and excellent treatment as usual in a timely manner. Brucegate offers a comprehensive list of dental treatments. I’ve had a couple of differing treatments without any issues at all.

Fantastic experience: I'm with Brucegate via Denplan, and they've really worked well to look after me. I get regular checkups, and when I needed serious work done, they've been fantastic. The staff are great too if you tell them you're worried or anxious.

Fantastic experience: I don’t think you will find a better dental practice than Brucegate anywhere. I have experienced dentistry in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle and London. Sarah, my dentist always carries out all her work to a fantastically high standard and more importantly to me totally pain free! The Dental nurses are excellent, as are the reception staff. They all have a great sense of humour and show empathy and kindness when required. I would definitely recommend this practice as five star. Good luck for 2024!

Negative experience: In the absence of any NHS dentist in Berwick and suffering from acute dental pain whilst on holiday I visited this practice as an emergency patient. The dentist did not take any details of prior medical history, diagnosed inflammation of the gum around a partially erupted wisdom tooth, irrigated the area and said he could see no sign of exudate or infection - although he would have provided a prescription for antibiotics had I wanted it and also offered to remove the tooth if it didn’t settle down. The whole appointment lasted around 10 minutes and cost £94 - I dread to think what removal of the tooth would have cost. Still in considerable pain, I cut my holiday short & returned home to my (NHS) dentist. She debrided the area very thoroughly, which though painful subsequently provided considerable relief; she confirmed that there was infection but since it wasn’t below the gum line salt water mouth washes would be sufficient. She advised against removal of the tooth unless absolutely necessary as this involved possible complications. This plus a follow up appointment cost £24 and I am now free from pain. I remain shocked at the contrast between the private and NHS dental treatment which I received and the exorbitant charges which people in Berwick are forced to pay, although for many they will simply be unaffordable. Update: just to give some context to the exorbitant charges being made by this (& probably other) private dental practices. I have just returned from France where I had a problem with my elbow which required me to consult a doctor privately, since I didn’t have a GHIC card. The consultation was thorough, lasted around 20 minutes, included a prescription and cost just over £20. I rest my case.

My overal gum health has improved in the time that I have been seeing their hygenist, Lorraine, on a regualr basis, and the long term plan for my teeth has put my mind at rest. From the admin staff, to the dental nurses and the dentists themselves you receive a lovely warm and professional welcome. As a Patient of Richard Lindsay I can say by all accounts he is extremely approachable and helpful with regards to anything you require. It’s obvious Richard is very experienced and is very good at his job. There is never any pressure to undergo any treatment and were he is able, will provide you with many options. He ensures your service is personal and you never feel the appointment is being rushed. He is very thorough when explaining any problems you may have and is also excellent and very patient when dealing with children’s appointments. Fantastic experience: Reception are friendly, helpful, and efficient. The system includes text appointments, while is very helpful. An emergency is treated quickly - I had two before I was even a registered patient. I felt welcome and cared for. I've met two of the Dentists, and both made me feel at ease and safe. I highly recommend this dental practice. On a logistic level, parking in the long-term carpark (Castlegate) is close by, an easy 3 minute walk.

Fantastic experience: My teeth have never been in better condition since I started visiting Sarah and her team. I've had a fair amount of work done by her over the last six years and a visit to the dentist holds no fears. I've even fallen asleep in the chair on a couple of occasions. I was troubled with poor previous work and an abscess that wouldn't go away, but all that's in the past now. I'm on Denplan as well, so no large bills either. Can't recommend Brucegate highly enough.
