The Trefynwy Dental Practice

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment for a check up but a few days prior to my appointment i had toothache. I mentioned this to Sam so he took x-rays. Unfortunately these showed decay, and as both teeth had previously had large fillings i had to have 2 extractions. I was extremely nervous so Sam offered to do the extractions there and then to save me worrying about having to go back. He was so kind and caring as he could tell i was very nervous. His dental nurse Steph was amazing too - even holding my hand during the procedure. I was so grateful to them both for reassuring me throughout the whole appointment.

Fantastic experience: We have been with this practice for a while and I would not change, our Dentists are very thoughtful and understanding to my health problems, the dental nurses are also lovely going to our dentist is a PLEASURE, cant thank them enough BIG THANK YOU .

Fantastic experience: The treatment I received was brilliant, absolute wreck when I go to the dentist but Sam was patient, kind and caring. The tooth extraction was painless. He filled a tooth for my husband a few days later and he said it was the best treatment he’s ever had. Lovely lady on the reception could not fault it.

Fantastic experience: Always made to feel at ease here. A safe pair of hands with excellent work on my teeth having had fillings, extractions and denture work done. All staff very efficient and super friendly.

Fantastic experience: I phoned Trefynwy today as I was in some pain with a broken tooth, the receptionist was very kind talking me through pain killers to take . She explained that I wasn’t an emergency but she would put me on their cancellation list . Two hours later they rang to say if I could get there quickly I could be seen. Again the receptionist was helpful. I then saw Mrs Cronin and the dental nurse , the atmosphere was relaxed (just what I needed) and both ladies were kind and gentle. I got in my car to travel home and looked in the mirror at my tooth , I couldn’t believe my eyes my tooth was completely white ( no black filling ) . Thank you Mrs Cronin.

Fantastic experience: After my dentist had become private I didnt know if I was going to get a dentist. Trefynwy dental practise accepted me right away. I have had a few problems with my teeth after not having a check up for years due to covid. Trefynwy have fitted me in for appointments and resolved these issues. The thing that sets them apart from my previous dentist is that they really do listen and asked enough questions to quickly identify the cause of pain and provide treatment. The staff are so friendly and I usually feel very anxious going to the dentist but the kindness of the staff has gotten rid of that anxiety. Highly recommend! 5/5

Fantastic experience: I had a tooth extraction today after they tried their best to save the tooth, Mr Cronin explained everything from start to finish and the assistant was very interactive. I can actually say the procedure was painless which is very unusual. Thank you for a very professional experience 5 stars !!

Negative experience: Been going here for many years. Recently the standard has deteriorated markedly. A filling I had in January 2023 lasted 4 days. Had it replaced today for it to last 5 hours!! Terrible experience all round. Will need to find another dentist!!!!

Negative experience: Shocking experience. Not allowed to wait in large reception area for appointment, instead my 80 year old mother with copd, and another oap patient of a similar age had to wait outside for their appointment, in the cold, mid October! This is taking covid protection to the extreme yet reception staff can not be bothered to even wear a mask and would not allow them inside. Double standards.

Negative experience: They have gone to the bad side now called for a filling that has come out 'they fitted' I said i was in pain etc.. was told to come in and get a free DIY filling? because no appointments... that was three weeks ago???

Fantastic experience: Excellent service. I found myself in a very bad position needing a root canal urgently without being registered anywhere. The NHS emergency line put me on to this practice who were entirely succesfull at sorting the above for me, I could not recommend them any more highly.

Fantastic experience: Excellent dental practice, broke my top plate in two eating a fried egg sandwich, must remove from pan sooner, repaired and returned in next to no time and no charge, thank you so much and this was in the middle of a Covid 19 lock down.

Fantastic experience: Treatment is great, and staff are very caring

Negative experience: I would give no stars if I could. Had an extraction 14 mths ago and its taken me this long to write a review. So traumatised. Having experienced trauma as a child with extraction, I asked if I could be referred for sedation as this was a back molar . I was scoffed at by the dentist and refused. I was in the chair 1hr 30 it was horrendous. Half way through he had to get more equipment. I had numerous staff just walking in to get things whilst I was in floods of tears. Appalling! My mouth split at the corner which later turned into a sore. The after care was a leaflet which was so poorly written and offered paracetomol as advice. Didnt touch the pain and I had to go to bed for 2 days. After a week of horrendous pain, I went to a private dentist who diagnosed 'dry socket' (not mentioned in advice leaflet) immediately packed it and put on antibiotics. I had to take 2 weeks off work. I wrote a letter of complaint but never received a reply. Shocking.

Negative experience: Terrible experience painful plastic frame and film to take xray dug into my mouth so much it brought me to tears. Several attempts at getting the xray just kept digging further into my cheek and gum. Very unsympathetic female staff. Truely awful.

Fantastic experience: I'm really pleased with the way the dentists at this practise have improved my teeth by suggesting simple and cost effective ways to change their appearance without expensive and intrusive braces. After a lifetime of misshapen front teeth I can now smile in photos. Very happy!
