Aiken Dental Surgery

Fantastic experience: Had treatment with Alice Aiken for the first time recently. Not only was she so friendly but what a brilliant dentist. My teeth feel great and would highly recommend Alice . Your'e going places Alice. Thankyou so much.

Negative experience: Worst experience I have ever had at a dentist. Very painful during procedure, left with a sensitive tooth for months afterwards which ultimately had to get a root canal. The filling I had at this dentist was one of the singular most painful experiences in my life and should not be inflicted on anyone else. The dentist ignored my request to do the minimum drilling and filling required to deal with the problem, and instead destroyed what had been a healthy tooth with a small cavity, leaving a shell of a tooth with an enormous filling. She actually seemed eager to drill more at the end although I strongly resisted, as I could not take any more. I hope she responds better the patient's demands in the future. I myself am a healthcare provider and always ensure my patient's wishes are considered, and ensure I cause minimal harm to healthy tissue when conducting treatment, which is how things should be done.

Fantastic experience: I found it hard to get a dentist after covid and I was recommended Aikens by a family member, I rang up and got an appointment for the following week. They couldn't be nicer and although they don't take NHS as most dentists don't these days, I found them reasonably priced compared to some of the other dentists in the town. 1st class service and highly recommend.

Negative experience: I have been going to Fiona for a good while now. I have never had any problems in the past and was pleased. Unfortunately, I recently got my wisdom teeth removed and wanted to make an appointment with the practice as I was in pain. I was told that the practice will no longer see me as I didn't attend my appointment a few months ago which I was unaware of as I did not get any letter and live in a different city. Felt very disappointed that I was left with no help in an emergency situation especially because the dentist is aware of my situation and the pain I have experienced with my wisdom tooth. I have been left with no help or support in a vulnerable situation.

Positive experience: I have been with this dentist surgery for years, I've never had any issues at all. Today I had to get some fillings and they always make me anxious, but Alice made me feel so relaxed and calm and did an excellent job; I didn't feel a thing and when I did she immediately stopped and made sure I was OK. Couldn't thank them enough

Fantastic experience: I was always afraid of going to dentist but no more I was made so relax and all the staff were so friendly as for Alice my dentist she was amazing made me feel so relax and help a lot while I was getting my treatment. Fantastic experience: Highly recommend the dental surgery, very welcoming, professional and comfortable. There’s no waiting around for appointments, my treatment and my daughter’s was completed in two weeks.

Negative experience: I was very disappointed with him, He saw me and gave me a plan. Then he changed his mind and even refused my treatment because i asked him a copy of my x ray. I also asked him for a referral, and he also refused.

Negative experience: 4 months ago - Tried to convince me that i needed much more work than was needed , even though I'd seen a prior dentist who said I might just need a filling he was telling me that the nhs would never pay him to do the work that was needed done and said i would need to pay it privately at ridiculous prices even though i went to another dentist and not half the work said was needed to be done , he was so rude and said numerous times that the amount of work needed was absolutely ridiculous he suggested I make a decision on my teeth whilst he was currently reviewing my teeth with mouth open on the dentist chair even though he accepted my NHS treatment card and was refusing to work on me, manipulation beyond reproach. I plan to report to the general dental council immediately.

Fantastic experience: My family and I have used this dental surgery for years. Aiken is a fantastic dentist who is extremely passionate about his job. My dad has now moved to aiken after many negative experiences at other dental surgeries in the town and he has not looked back. We couldn't recommend this practice enough and can not fault it. 10/10. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic experience: Can't thank this dentist enough, couldn't get a dentist to take me on as a patient anywhere! The lovely receptionist told me to come over with my medical card, went over at around 12.30pm. She got me registered, got me an appointment for 2.30pm that day and I came back. I was in a bad way with pain, had been to a&e and they got me in, got me sorted and they were absolutely fantastic. Friendly, professional and I'm extremely lucky they have taken me on as a patient and I can't thank them enough.

Fantastic experience: There isn’t a nicer man nor a better dentist out there than James Aiken. He does his best for me and all his patients. He gets me out of pain every time I need him and always has a smile on his face
