Negative experience: Had an appointment and was told I needed gum restoration before my loose teeth could be removed at a cost of £1200. Went to another dentist who is able to remove and replace my loose teeth before any restoration which is what I asked for.

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience for me. Options clearly explained. Checked to see if anaesthetic had completely taken effect before proceeding with the extraction. Actually never felt a thing. A totally different experience from an earlier extraction at a different dental practice earlier this year. Hopefully my wife and I will be able to transfer to this practice.

Fantastic experience: I went to Olivia today as an emergency due to toothache. I had been putting it off for so long as I have a very severe phobia of dentists due to seeing a fake dentist years ago but I needn’t have worried Dr Olivia Barnard and Nurse Jasmine were absolutely amazing. I would say I’m at the extreme end of dental phobia and they put me so at ease I had the treatment even found myself laughing at one point I was so at ease ! And they took such great care of me that I’m actually honestly looking forward to going back and getting my teeth sorted after all those years of not daring to even say the word dentist let alone go and see one !!! Fantastic experience: I have been paranoid about my teeth for as long as I can remember and finally got to the stage where I had had enough of shying away from photos, hiding in the background and avoiding smiling as much as I could. I reached out to Newton Abbot Dental because I felt too old for traditional metal braces and wanted to enquire about Invisalign. I met with Dr Chris Callison and from the very first appointment, I’ve had nothing but 5* amazing service. Each appointment has been thorough, friendly and informative. Fantastic experience: We arrived at Newton Abbot Dental as new patients and were greeted by a warm and friendly receptionist called Courtney. We then had a check up with Gurj who was very professional, friendly, and helpful. Kelly the Dental Nurse was also very friendly and particularly put my wife at ease. Today I had to see the hygienist Gemma who also put me at ease and explained everything to me. We are glad we have found a very professional and friendly Dentist practice.

Fantastic experience: * EXTREMELY NERVOUS PATIENT * I started visiting Newton Abbot Dental a few months ago due to being in severe pain with an infected tooth, I booked an appointment and was told the tooth needed to come out and was given antibiotics (I was terrified to have the tooth out due to never having a dental procedure done so I was hoping the antibiotics would keep this at bay) at this appointment I saw Chris and I was instantly put at ease, he spoke to me about everything and let me talk about my worries and why I was scared of the dentist, after lots of talking I booked an appointment to have my tooth out. I woke up this morning in agony and booked an emergency appointment and saw Andy, again, I was terrified that he would say I’d need it out. He explained to me why having an infection can lead to other complications and another round of antibiotics will only stall the pain. Again, Andy listened to my worries but he also really explained everything to me, it didn’t feel rushed. All I can say is, if I had known the extraction was going to be over so fast I would have had it done months ago, I didn’t even feel the needles go in, it was over before I knew it. I was previously on the waiting list for a general anaesthetic at Torbay to have this tooth out so to be writing this now is genuinely unbelievable. Thank you to everyone at Newton Abbot Dental including the girls on reception for always being so kind on the phone and to the Practice Manager, Emily for being utterly incredible. You have cured my phobia of the dentist and I’m forever thankful.

Fantastic experience: I attended as a new patient today and was immediately greeted by a friendly receptionist. Whilst I waited to be seen I found all the information on the screen very interesting. Dr Ed Streamer and his assistant made me feel very comfortable and at ease and gave me a thorough examination x rays etc and explained and showed me on the screen where I needed treatment. Thank you

Fantastic experience: I had a crack in my crown which was one of my front teeth. I needed to get it sorted urgently. I rang the dentist and receptionist got me in an emergency appointment the same day. Ed was very good and sorted out a temporary repair and gave me excellent advice on what I needed and should do next. He has sorted the problem out and further issues and I am now very happy and his standard of work was excellent. Again, a big thanks to the reception staff and in particular Ed Streamer.

Fantastic experience: I just had some work done at Newton Abbot Dental, and I had to rush to write this because it has changed my feelings about dentists, much for the better! I have been a dental phobic for a long time thanks to some terrible experiences in the late '70s and early '80s. Since adulthood I have only been to the dentists when the pain became unmanageable and I always had to have sedation. The end result of this is that my teeth are now in a state, and I realised that I needed to have a fair amount of work done and had to find a good practice to help me through it. Everyone I've met at Newton Abbot Dental, and Gurj in particular, have been amazing. They have been kind, gentle, and supportive, and today I had my first treatment, two extractions, and I didn't feel a single thing! Not even the injections hurt! I remember them as being the worst part, but they just don't even register any more. I have to admit, I felt quite emotional as I left, having had a lifelong fear addressed and put to bed in just one visit. There is still a way to go in terms of treatments, but now I know I can approach it with confidence and be safe in the knowledge that there will be no pain. So I recently attended my first dental appointment/check up in over four years, this being the case since the pandemic and our NHS dentist privatising (which is now actually our 3rd NHS dentist to privatise in Newton Abbot!) I can honestly say the ongoing NHS dentistry nightmare and timely win has finally encouraged my husband, myself and our close family members to seriously consider private dental care, and naturally this will be with NEWTON ABBOT DENTAL practice! We are just ordinary folk, part of a responsible and respectable working class society who are now challenged financially with looking after our own dental health. Of course we understand this method of NHS care is no longer practical or sustainable. Dentist Dr Chris, at Newton Abbot Dental has a friendly relaxed demeanour and offers a comprehensive explanation of any treatment necessary, and also importantly for many of us, he’s ready to listen to his patients concerns or questions. Fantastic experience: My first visit here and my first visit to a dentist in over 46 years. My how things have changed since the 1970's! I found the whole process from enrolling as a patient, through to the examination and recommendations very thorough and all the staff very helpful and kind. I found the dentist, Gurjit Pattar and his assistant Becky, very considerate and accommodating. They made the visit as comfortable as possible and put me at ease. To my relief, there was no immediate work required, other than an appointment with the hygienist. I would recommend this dentist and practice to anyone, especially like me, those who are not the best patient and a bit in fear of the dentist.

Negative experience: Treatment is good. However discussing the treatment initially was poor. Admin in reception this one time was NOT inviting and warm, I felt the opposite this last time. Disappointing and it has made me reflect on the reality of deep care vs business.....

He was extremely thorough, informative and reassuring as I had questions regarding my suitability for the procedure. Having deliberated about dental implants for a number of years, I feel confident in going ahead. This is an excellent practice in my experience. The whole team, dentists, receptionists and nurses are friendly, professional and knowledgeable making you feel valued and at ease from the moment you walk through the door.

Fantastic experience: Just completed Invisalign treatment with Dr Chris Callison & Jess. Been unhappy with my smile for years and eventually at 61 years old decided to treat myself with my pension and so glad I did. The treatment was discussed & explained at the start, complete with computer generated eventual outcome. I couldn’t be happier with my end result and the continual monitoring and care I received from everyone at the practice during my treatment. An excellent dental practice.

Fantastic experience: We saw Ed who was absolutely fantastic. My daughter had a check up and so did I. My daughter confidently went first with ease, I followed and Ed answered all of my questions, and talked through all options, he made me feel completely at ease as well. The whole environment is very welcoming and clean. I went after a friend recommended them and I am so glad I did.

Fantastic experience: This was my first visit to Newton Abbot Dental and I am very pleased to say I know I have made the right decision. My initial assessment and examination was carried out by Ed, who made me feel relaxed and confident of his professionalism.After a physical examination of my teeth and gums,a series of X-rays were taken plus a number of photographs.Further X-rays of my jaw bone were taken to identify what may be an old infection. Ed discussed the results with me and gave me his opinion as to the treatments he would advise,his expertise reassured me I was in good hands. I can not lie and say I am looking forward to further treatment but I am confident I will have the best of care. Thank you Ed

Fantastic experience: Today was our first appointment at Newton Abbot Dental and we were both very impressed with the quality of service and the detailed explanations given in regards to our dental health and required dentistry. All the staff were welcoming and courteous.

Positive experience: There is no disputing that they are always friendly and helpful. I have been to a few private practices and this is the only one I feel does not give me a holistic service. My previous experience that private compared to NHS dental practices is that they work on preventative treatment and not just treating issues at the time. I’d like to know more about my brushing technique, avoiding issues in the future rather then just looking at those issues I have now. I have asked these questions but don’t really get a set answer. I also got my mouth bruised and cut up on one of my fillings. I still like them and will use them just giving an honest account here.

Fantastic experience: Helpful and pleasant receptionists. The waiting room area is spacious and modern. The dental surgeon that treated me is a well qualifed and pleasant, caring individual, as are all of the staff I have encountered.

Fantastic experience: This was my first visit with Newton Abbot Dental, but I was made very welcome by the staff from the moment of arrival, who also accommodated my specific needs. The consultation, with Dr. Gurjit Pattar and Becky, began with a discussion of my dental self care routine and treatment history, together with identifying patterns which might impact on the effectiveness of this routine. We talked about the concerns which had precipitated my visit, before moving on to a detailed dental examination, followed by photography and X-rays of my teeth, all included in the price. Dr. Pattar quickly pinpointed the cause of the issue I was experiencing, and then comprehensively walked me through the treatment options available, also helpfully answering questions that I had about this range of choices. At the conclusion of our time together (spanning a period of about 45 minutes), I felt well informed about the condition of my dental health, and about the pathways forward for dealing with the issue that had brought me through the doors of the practice.

Fantastic experience: I visited the Dental Practice today and was met with an immediate warmth from the Dental staff at reception who will kind and chatty, once my appointment time had come around I was greet by nurse Becky and led to the Drs office where Dr Gurjit Pattar was really professional and put me at ease for the services I needed. I am now on a plan with the Practice to ensure my needs are met regularly and with the most cost effective option available. I will certainly be recommending the practice to family and friends because of how they made me feel. If there was a 6 star review I'd being giving that. Thank you Max

Fantastic experience: I can’t rate this dental practice highly enough! I phoned for an emergency appointment to have a badly broken, infected tooth removed. Appointment was made for within 24 hours. The whole process has been smooth, effortless, informed of every procedure all the way, what to expect and how long it would take. Fantastic experience: Highly recommend this dentist, you really can’t get better service !! Receptionist are amazing, helpful and really friendly. I couldn’t be anymore grateful to Ed & Robyn Today. I’m not the easiest patient but they made me feel comfortable from the get go and was patient with me all the way through. They had re done a temporary root canal filling I had treated the day before by a different dentist practice because the filling was too big and causing me a lot of pain and I wasn’t able to eat food. The pain had gone immediately and I ate dinner the same night of having the filler re done, which I couldn’t believe haha. Woke up this morning already feeling brand new! Much appreciated Ed & Robyn and I can’t wait to see you’s again and get my dental plan started.

Fantastic experience: 1st visit today and as I'd not been to a dentist in 5 years I was a little nervous. Dr Pattar & Becky were really lovely. I felt at ease straight away and everything was explained to me in great detail. Originally I had been hoping to get in with an NHS dentist but I'm so glad now that I'm going private. The care is % better so I'm now booked in for a filling and don't feel anxious about it at all.

They are very professional and thorough in their care of us, and we consider them to be the best dental practice that we have experienced. Fantastic experience: As usual wonderful attention and expertise from Chris Callison who undertook two difficult fillings on the sides of adjoining teeth at the front of my mouth. All completely painless and with his customary friendliness treating each one of his patients as though they were the only ones that mattered. No praise of mine can do him justice.
