Positive experience: The appointments were running about 10-15 mins behind - not too bad but think we should be informed on arrival of this. The staff were friendly and helpful. I feel the hygienist appointment prices at Eastgate have risen very sharply in the past few years - I realise there are ‘scheme’ options but it seems disproportionate to average incomes. We are advised to have 3 monthly appointments but this is very expensive for most people. We stay with your practise as very few dentists are taking new nhs patients now and the service is usually good. However, I did have one experience this year where the receptionist failed to book me in correctly and as a result the dentist left before my 5.30 check up appointment, extremely inconvenient - I was not offered a feedback form and a verbal apology did not really make up for over an hours wasted time plus 50 mins travel! So I give 3 stars as ‘usually good’ very much marred but that experience and steep charge increases.

Fantastic experience: Was really struggling to find a nhs emergency appointment for my wisdom tooth, 111 were useless with recommending any one who could help, although eastgate aren’t taking new nhs patients at the minute they fit me in for an emergency appointment, they had a cancellation I was seen the next day. I can’t remember the dentist I saw, he’s was lovely made me feel very comfortable. They were brill, I was in and out, they’ve put me on the list. Also they suggested a private monthly plan of £15 a month as they know I am on maternity leave atm. that can put my baby straight on the nhs list and also give me check ups and hygienist. Overall very good experience will be returning.

Fantastic experience: I have always been afraid of dentists, I joined the Eastgate dentist when I couldn't make an appointment with my old dentist in Chesham. Eastgate dentist have made me feel relaxed, even after a tooth extraction, when I ran out of the room the first time and they were happy to make me another appointment for it. Thank you for the practice patience and understanding. And now there are talks about a root canal, I hope I won't run out of the room when this happens....

Positive experience: Only thing holding back a 5 star is the appointments/booking system, as the care team are fabulous. Its got worse over time for no reason i can fathom....Had routine 6 month check, which picked up a long standing issue which now needed some work, booked in for a weeks time, day before it got cancelled (about 22hrs notice) which was annoying as I'd taken time off, and next appointment was a month away..... then over that month i had 6 texts trying to get me to take a sooner appointments that appeared like magic....3 of them in the 1st week afterr booking alone. Doesnt seem to matter when you book, be it in a week as an urgent or 6 months ahead....they almost always get cancelled last minute?

Negative experience: A fifteen minute wait beyond my appointment time , then offered a filthy pair of terribly scratched dark glasses to protect my eyes, and then to add insult I received a very painful attemp to clean my teeth. I left before any more pain was inflicted on me.

Fantastic experience: So pleased with the service provided by the amazing prosthodontist Surpriti . She is a real dental artist and has reconstructed my smile so well . I have been quite a nervous patient for the last few years, but I have felt completely comfortable and safe with her and felt involved in planning and deciding my dental care plan. It’s not cheap, but it’s proper professional care with a great outcome and no “turkey teeth” and as a result I no longer feel self-conscious of my smile.

Negative experience: I used to have really good experience with the dentist here, but today has been the worst ever. Got a reminder for my appointment at 15.00- fine. Waited (still waited at the time of writing) over 40 minutes for my dentist appointment. I told the receptionist that my appt was originally at 14.45 as that's what I got told last time, but they subtly changed it to 15.00. never mind, but they couldn't even get me in on time. We were told that if we don't arrive on time, it would cut into our appointment time. Now they're late and there's no customer service, just said: we already said sorry, but just wait as the computer says your appt is at 15.30?! Urgh seriously considering changing our dentist. This has been awful. Word of caution: don't come here unless there's no choice

Negative experience: Eastgate use to have the best reputation in Aylesbury, unfortunately it now has the worse, the staff leave as soon as they have started, you book an appointment with a dentist and it gets cancelled because the dentist has left, you book another one and then gets cancelled because that dentist has booked annual leave, they then book at a time that dont suit, and then they tell you that you are no longer a NHS patient because you didn't attend your appointment, I would have if there was an appointment for me to see, this has happened twice to me and the first time I received an apology from Sanjal the proprietor, have received bills in the post in the past even though treatment was paid at the time of treatment. Reception and management team need training, Apparently they send letters out, letters are not sent out, (a copy of this letter would be nice but does not exist)I have been informed NHS patients see trainees now not qualified dentists and I receive numerous requests to book an hygienist, funny that they want your money for a private hygienist treatment but cancel appointments for NHS treatment. I wouldn't recommend Eastgate, use to be a lovely dentist but it's owned by Roderick Dental now and just another money making private corporation. I will be interested what the response from management will be as they dont reply to Emails most probably we don't comment on individual cases, contact the practice. (I have tried) This is how a dentist practise treats its long standing patients (such a shame). This Dentist lies and makes it up as they go along. Two appointments missed NO, I had two appointments cancelled.

Negative experience: **Highly Unprofessional and Poorly Managed** I don’t usually write reviews for dental clinics—I typically only review food places—but the incident I witnessed today has forced me to share my experience. While I was in the waiting room, I witnessed a dentist come out and scream at the nurse, even cursing at her. Everyone in the waiting room heard it, and it was shocking to see such highly unprofessional behavior in what’s supposed to be a place of care. This isn’t the only issue I’ve faced here. My appointments are constantly being cancelled or rescheduled, and it seems like the staff turnover is incredibly high because of poor management. The clinic feels untidy and disorganized, and I honestly don’t understand how it has a 4.5-star rating. If I could, I’d give it a zero. The dentists here often have an attitude, and when you want to speak to management about any concerns, there’s nobody available—no supervisor, no accountability. The clinic also seems severely understaffed, leaving no one to cover absences, which only makes things worse. Overall, this is one of the worst dental practices I’ve ever encountered. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Negative experience: After two years service they are bad. The dentist constantly changes the appointment time and day. You get a text to confirm and they come back with a new date and time - absolutely useless and I have to cancel or book more time off work. As a private patient I decided to leave and get treatment somewhere else. Also I didn’t get the refund (received less back) than I was told on the phone, so really angry with them.

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment with Monika this morning for a hygiene cleanse. I was super nervous, as I have anxiety from visiting the dentist, but Monika was super friendly and really reassuring. The procedure was quick & as mentioned, I was so nervous at the start, but Monika helped me get through it (I know the cleanse is not a tough procedure). I will definitely be returning for further hygiene cleansing appointments, hopefully with Monika. Thank you Monika & EastGate team!!!

Negative experience: After receiving many requests encouraging me to make a dental hygienist appointment, I went ahead and made the appointment. Then a few days beforehand, received a voicemail saying I would have my appointment cancelled if I did not pay a deposit! Never happened to me before in many years of being a patient. They cancelled my appointment. All very disappointing and I feel unprofessional. I am looking for a new practice.

It is now practice policy to take deposits for all private appointments which includes the hygienist. If you book online and do not pay the deposit then the appointment will be cancelled.

Fantastic experience: Sanjay Rayarel the proprietor of Eastgate has excellent communication skills, along with his trained team, Very friendly and approachable, makes you feel very relaxed in his dental Centre both privately and through NHS. I always feel very welcomed and wish him more success in his nearest future. I always look forward in receiving treatment from this impressive dental Centre. I have visited both the NHS dental clinic and private clinics and I have been both impressed with the service I have received through booking, updating health status etc, regular texts, reminders of forthcoming appointments in both clinics. Of my recent visit in the private clinic I was greeted by Laureen who was very approachable, professional, and nice to talk to, eased myself having my treatment. I enjoy my dentist appointments. I ask for Lauren each time Reception staff are friendly, along with dental assistants within my appointments and requesting a printed receipt copy for my private health care entitlements. On my last appointment, I was given a few Tepe's to help reduce plague build-up behind my back front teeth, which I had recently purchased more and help a lot in between my teeth. Negative experience: NHS dentist is a joke, changing dates and times all the time even on the day of appointment. We were going with kids in few weeks for 4pm now all of the sudden they changed it to 9am. We can't take a day off from work!

Negative experience: The treatment here is definitely not recommended. They have always told me that I need a filling every check-up, even when I was a teenager. Not sure any of them were actually needed. Just recently, I was told I need another 3/4 fillings, including in a newly erupted wisdom tooth which has only seen the light of day for a couple of months. Just for the money, I'm guessing... Worst case scenario then happened thanks to this dental practice. I got a chip in a tooth, so approached them to resolve this. However, I was tossed about between different doctors for a few months, thought I had an appointment to get it sorted (finally!) and turned up to the dentist having no idea what I was there for, and proceeding to tell me I needed all these fillings, ignoring my original problem of my enamel being chipped. Dentist insisted I needed to have a filling out and redone, as decay was occurring under the filling (which was also done with this practice, good filling then??) During the procedure, dentist exclaimed that the roots of my tooth were exposed, yet continued on with the filling. They never rectified the chip, by the way. I was told "I wouldn't worry about it". Fast forward a week, I'm in excruciating pain in said tooth, so made an emergency appointment with a private dental practice elsewhere as it was a Sunday. The result was found that I had an infection under the tooth that Eastgate treated just one week prior, and the tooth has now been extracted. The private dentist informed me that he believes this practice either A) neglected the infection when they treated the tooth and took xrays (they saw it but did not do anything about it) or B) caused the infection during the procedure they carried out the week before. He also stated that the chip should not have been ignored. I think this is appalling. I've had to pay for the tooth to be extracted, spent two weeks recovering and a week on antibiotics, and had a weekend away ruined because I was in complete agony, painkillers weren't enough. This could have been avoided if Eastgate had either acknowledged the infection if it was there, or done something more extensive when the roots of said tooth were exposed during their treatment. Not to mention the fact that decay under the filling may never have occurred in the first place had the filling been done properly. I went to Eastgate for chipped enamel, had a treatment, and have now lost one of my molars to infection. Save yourself, and your teeth, and go somewhere else.

Negative experience: Unfortunately I have to give a star, my husband Unfortunately had to go on Thursday for toothache due to a broken molar, during the appointment they found he has an infection forming inside the gum, she (dentist) decided not to send my husband on his way with antibiotics but to pull the tooth out knowing there was a infection there, oh and also broke thr tooth as she was pulling it out! After this and a very scared husband got some padding that he needed to change ever few hours but he didn't receive any proper after care or even a sheet! Just sent on his way not even a prescription for the infection inside the gum!! Now Friday the side of his face was swollen which google told us was normal yes google and also told us to clean with warm salt water, Friday evening lots of pain and no sleep, Saturday morning pus, smell, very swollen face/jaw Eastgate said his dentist wasn't there and another £90 needed to be seen wasn't interested in thr fact I could smell the infection or he could taste the pus they just wanted money!! After speaking to 111 they booked him in to see a dentist but unfortunately we couldn't wait cause the pain was unbearable and the smell was getting worse by the hour, so off to A&E we went and when we told the hospital doctor what they done they went insane! Thr shocked look on the doctors face was something, he's on really strong antibiotics and painkillers around the clock but never ever again will we darken their doorstep again.

Negative experience: Worst experience with a dental check-up. I had an appointment for a toothache, but as soon as I arrived, the doctor had no idea why I was there. Instead of focusing on my treatment, the doctor started to all the rates and seemed more interested in billing me than helping with my pain and treatment. She even started making notes in my record suggesting that it was my fault and that I was annoyed. I felt uncomfortable and scared to receive treatment from such a doctor. Despite being in severe pain, I left without receiving any treatment. To make matters worse, the receptionist wanted to book me an appointment with another doctor and charge me an additional £30. This clinic is extremely money-minded and lacks any genuine care for patients. I would not recommend them at all.

Negative experience: EDC have now cancelled appointments on three separate occasions. Each time they come up with a new reason. On this occasion they claim the dentist has changed his day of working. It's a pity that they did not communicate that to me. I suggest that you try and find a dentists that honours appointments.

Negative experience: Terrible dental practice. It probably was a good dentist a long time ago but has gone downhill since being taken over by Rodericks. Overpriced for what you get. My sense is they are more focused on making lots of money rather than providing a good standard of service. They additionally charge £60 deposit every time , despite having a cancellation policy in place to charge you for missed appointments. You never get the deposit returned so long as you’re a patient with them. This just feels like price gouging. They promised to refund 2 deposits when I left but that was 2 months ago and I’m still waiting! . Rude, unfriendly, and often incompetent receptionists. My son and my appointments were always being cancelled or changed at the last minute, and sometimes they wouldn’t notify me ! Yet on the few occasions when I tried to give notice to change an appointment they would never acknowledged emails or phone messages and I’d have to repeatedly chase them for days . Despite being a private patient the quality of dentistry was very poor and the hygienists was very rough and rushing , like they were trying to get through as many patients as possible rather than focusing on individual care. It reminded me of the awful treatment I received when I used to be a NHS patient years ago and the reason I went private. A complete waste of money and and poor service. My teeth were in great condition when I joined this practice but have not been looked after to the same standard at this place. So, my son and I have left and joined another practice.

Negative experience: Poor patient treatment from dr Madhulaxmi Marimuthu. She dosent greet patients . After treatment she just leaves you in the chair and dosent explain when your next appointment is she just starts writing her notes and if u raise a complaint with the practise manager she dosent bother as well. You contact reception and they keep telling you stories such as manager not in and they say she will contact you on her return. Poor patient treatment, from both the dentist and her nurse, considering l paid for private treatment and l think the dentist and all the other workers all forget that it is the money that the practice receives from patient treatment that pays for their wages. Madhulaxmi Marimuthu is the worst dentist they can give you at that practice. The practice manager does not even bother responding to complaints. You are asked so many questions by reception( l am sure they relay to practice manager) then you are told the manager is not in or she’s in a meeting, then tell you she will call you in an hours time which will become days (the manager never returns calls)Poor service from the whole lot.

Negative experience: Terrible service with generally moody teens at the front desk that can barely greet you correctly or who leave you waiting a few mins while they have a chin wag before turning to you, however the main issue is this dentist only value's private business and totally fail there nhs appointments, so its basically pay up or we will see you in around a year thus forcing you to use private, clearly a business that prioritises there profits over the health of there patients. Apparently its 9 months for an nhs check up and clean however its quite funny when my partner called up and had the hygienist do the same job with just ONE DAYS NOTICE! yes you heard correctly she called one day before and had her teeth cleaned, obviously a alot more profitable as after all who wants nhs business when we get get more money for the same job..we can just make them wait or leave as why would we care about them.

Negative experience: Had been with this dental practice since it opened, but have now left. Too many cancelled appointments, turning up for appointments they’d cancelled-moved saying they’d emailed us when they hadn’t. Unfriendly reception staff not concerned about a welcoming greeting. They’ve just lost over £11k in orthodontic treatment from my family. We’ve gone elsewhere and wish we’d moved sooner. New practice welcoming, thorough, top of the range equipment, and a nicer experience.

Fantastic experience: My 15 year old autistic daughter has just been to see the hygienist, with me accompanying her. My daughter was anxious, but the hygienist soon made her giggle and helped her relax. He checked she was okay throughout, as did the lovely nurse. Thank you for making it a positive experience for my daughter.

Negative experience: They used to be good, But I got there for my appointment yesterday to find my appointment had been cancelled a month ago. They said they had informed me, but hadn't. They are all prioritising private patients and leaving the NHS patients to wait for long lengths of time. To date they haven't given me another appointment even.

Negative experience: Turned up today for an appointment booked 2 months prior... only to be told it had been moved. I received no communication whatsoever about the cancellation, and no apology either. So 2hrs lost working time and 30-mile plus round trip too, very tempted to charge them for my lost time and fuel costs. I'm now considering finding a more professional dental practice.

Negative experience: Worst dental practice around, spent in excess of £800 for a root canal treatment that I was told I had to have, then got it filled with what I was assured is "the worlds best" filler, which came out 2 days after, then got another load put back in which is now after a month slow coming out in pieces, went back there for them to sort it AGAIN only to be told that "there's not much point" and I could do with a crown which is an additional £600. Complete "fake it till you make it" practice !

Fantastic experience: Best dentist surgery there is,Olly is a fantastic dentist and so patient and really listens to your your needs,im an extremely nervous patient but so far I’ve conquered fillings,root canal and extraction with hardly any pain and he’s really helped lessen my anxiety a lot,the dental nurses are also very kind and helpful and the reception team are polite and very efficient with bookings and follow up appointments,i’m really perplexed at some of the negative reviews given as they are not warranted,well done team!

Negative experience: Cancels appointments and doesn't tell the client.. further cancels more appointments for urgent treatment so urgent treatment then becomes 1 year since said treatment was needed... Eastgate is an absolute joke.. Added 6 months later... yet further cancelled appointments without being notified about these appointment changes. Shocking service does not get any better!

Fantastic experience: Care and courtesy is excellent. Only quibble is routine appts only available maybe 3 weeks ahead. But, I know emergency appts are fitted in as appropriate

Negative experience: Difficult to get information. We were promised a call back 3 times over a 4 week period and no one phoned back. On the 4th attempt we were drip fed information evasively as if no one was sure what is going on with appointments.

Fantastic experience: I am a person with a great fear of dentist's - having had a traumatic experience 70 years ago with the dreaded 'school clinic of the 1950's.' I saw Pratic Shah yesterday, who put me at ease, was kind and considerate and seemed to understand my difficulties, he also went to great detail to explain what was to come next. This kind service is unbeatable. It won't STOP my future fears, - the fear begins several days before the appointment - but I know I will be looked after. 10/10*

Negative experience: Shocking. Booked dentist and Hygienist over 6 mths ago. Week before I get a text saying it’s been rescheduled but no idea which appointment so I have to call to check. I get to appointment and attend hygienist. I explained the texts and dental nurse checks system and informs me I still have my dentist appointment booked at 11am but there was also another appointment in diary for next week. Very confused. She tells me to take a seat in waiting room and she would inform dentist I was ready. I wait 40 minutes and eventually go to reception to ask what is going on only to be told I don’t have an appointment at 11am. I couldn’t make rescheduled appointment so asked when next available appointment was only to be told they couldn’t fit me in for another 4 mths. Total waste of my time. Awful customer service and they couldn’t care less or be more disinterested at reception if they tried.

Fantastic experience: Can I just say how lovely all the staff are at eastgate dental. The last few days have been difficult because their phone lines have been down, a quick email later and I got an emergency appointment booked in. They really are trying their best, it’s not their fault the phone lines were down!!

Negative experience: I have just had a bridge fitted on my front teeth. 3rd attempt by the lab to make these and still not realistic, far too big and not matching my natural teeth. I've had to have a front crown since 14 years old. Bad NHS ones have been the bain of my life. I can finally afford a private crown and now hate this just as much. Even the temporarys were more realistic!! Not the dentists fault but I do think his patience ran out with me possibly. For the money I paid, why shouldn't I be happy with the result. Very good dentist. Poor lab work.
