Welcome to mydentist Ashburnham Road, a 5-surgery practice located between Dallow and New Town just off the A505. We are a 15-minute walk from Luton train station with multiple bus routes in the surrounding area and car parking available to the rear of the practice. We offer NHS treatments as well as private and the myoptions affordable private scheme with treatments including Invisalign Go, Teeth Whitening and Quick Straight Teeth. Fantastic experience: Great customer service by the team including Rabia who was very helpful in booking me for an emergency appointment. Also Dr Sami of course & his assistant who helped me with an extraction ending a painful experience over the last week & half after a short holiday break dealing with toothache. When parking is available, it is clear when you go to the surgery reception where to register your vehicle to avoid a fine, I did this before & no parking tickets were issued. I already had my spec savers appointment before this one.

Negative experience: I visited the hygienist on 23/7. It cost me £100 for 30 mins it was a rip off really disappointed with the service. The lady spoke for 20 mins more or less repeating herself and spent 10 minutes actually cleaning the teeth she didn’t even polish them just rubbed some paste and asked me to rinse mouth. Won’t be using that service again

Positive experience: This is Purley for the dentist who looked after me. She was very informative and gentle. I was able to relax. Very nice dentist. I had a parking ticket too. I got a letter stating I was there at that time for my appointment but they didn't care. Fantastic experience: Dentist herself was very nice, described everything step by step. Her assistant was also very nice. Her distracting me helped with my anxiety towards dentists after my brain injury. My only complaint will be more so toward the NHS system of keeping people as NHS patients. How would I be able to keep up to date with in keeping with requirements if I’m an ABI patient and also during COVID outbreak? Can’t afford to financially keep up to date with regular appointments, therefore understand why people don’t continue with dental hygiene. Also there are no spaces to get back onto the NHS list…… BUT is that a way of getting money out of the public? On an already expensive service.

Negative experience: Found the consultation about having dental implants unsatisfactory. I asked if I could have all the information the consultant finally explained and his cost quote in an email... This request was refused and I was instead given a plain ordinary post it note with a handwritten note u... ndated.. ... Unsigned.... Of the estimated cost. Nothing about the way the work would be done... How long the complete process would take... The potential difficulties that might arise and need extra work to resolve.... It was diff8 to get the consultant to give full explanations in the first place. And I would be expected to say yes to the work based purely on this. Initial 15 minute meeting. At such an expensive cost for work lastingr a year and with potential problems... I think I was entitled to an email explanation and I am very disappointed with the response from the consultant at this surgery.

Fantastic experience: Was very happy with the process and treatment which I had. Initially had the check up done by Samiah, who was very caring and understanding. Advised me to see the hygienist and then the following day to get the fillings done. This all happened in clock work. The hygienist was Muriam who also tought me the correct way to use an electric toothbrush. Overall, it was very pleasant experience. They have very good staff at this practice.

Negative experience: Absolutely unacceptable experience. We had an appointment at this clinic on the 29th of April 2025, and a few days later we received a parking fine in the post. We called the clinic to complain, and they confirmed our appointment and advised us to appeal to the parking company. We followed their advice — only to have the appeal rejected. The parking company stated: *"We have no record of the above vehicle being registered to be exempt from the parking restrictions in place on the day in question."* Nowhere during the appointment booking or at reception were we told that we needed to register our car to avoid a fine. There *are* signs saying "permit holders only," but like any reasonable person with a legitimate appointment, we assumed that parking was allowed — especially since this is the clinic’s car park. There was no mention of needing to do anything special. No instructions. No warnings. Nothing. When we called again, the clinic insisted the car park isn't theirs and that it's “government funded,” so there’s “nothing they can do.” Yet the car park is clearly attached to the clinic, and **they know full well this is a recurring issue**. We checked their reviews on Google Maps and found complaint after complaint — for *nearly three years* — about the exact same problem. And what’s worse? The clinic has been responding to many of those reviews, acknowledging the issue but still doing nothing to prevent it from happening to more patients. It’s deeply frustrating and shows a complete lack of care for patient experience. How hard would it be to put up a clear sign at reception or simply remind patients to register their vehicle when checking in? Instead, the clinic chooses to let people get fined and then shrug it off. Avoid this place unless you enjoy surprise parking fines for attending a healthcare appointment.
We are sorry to receive your 1 star review. There is a carpark at the back of the practice that patients can utilise, their is a large sign when you walk into practice advising that you must log your registration details to avoid parking fines, the tablet is at the front of reception to add your details in addition to this there are many signs in the practice advising of the parking situation. We apologise if you have missed these but as the practice have stated the carpark is owned by a private company, hence the requirement to log any registration details.

Fantastic experience: I had a dental hygiene appt with Muriam. Having been on this planet for over 60yrs I thought I knew how to clean my teeth. Hpw wrong i was. Muriam has shown me how to effectively clean my teeth. She is very clear in her instruction. She is very enthusiastic & passionate about her work. I'm really thankful for all her help & advice.

Negative experience: Terrible experience. I came in and registered 10 minutes before my appointment, I did not get called for almost 45 minutes so I asked at the counter which they then realised they cancelled it… I had taken time out my day for this and they messed me about very appalling

Negative experience: Appalling behaviour by the receptionist, I felt like being discriminated by her. My daughter’s appointment was given at 8:50 AM, I had to fetch her from the school as she already left to school at 8:00 AM… Anyone in Luton know how congested the roads are at that time, I took her to the dentist at 8:58 AM and that receptionist was so adamant and said my daughter can’t see the dentist because she’s late. I Scrolled through others reviews and many complained that they were not seen on time! I remember the receptionist saying you can’t be seen by the dentist even you are late by 2 minutes!! Such attitude she has shown…

Negative experience: Over 10 minutes late in being seen, had booked and been charged for a 30 minute appointment as requested by the hygienist, the hygienist only had me booked in for a 20 minute appointment on her screen !!!

Fantastic experience: I was late thinking my appt was 3.45 but it should have been 3.15 The dentist kindly still saw me. She also explained teeth whitening to me which I had asked about. She was really lovely with me. The receptionist was also really lovely and kindly made an appt for me for 6 months time.

Fantastic experience: I was seen by Muriam Rashid, Hygienist, who welcomed me with friendly banter which helped me put my nerves to rest. She gave my teeth a thorough pain free clean and afterwards gave me much needed advice on how I should clean and maintain my teeth. Positive experience: Do not use their car park. Dental treatment is okay. But last time I went, first of all, my car was blocked in when I finished my visit and I had to wait five minutes for someone else to move their car before I could get out. Then when I got home, there was a letter waiting for me on my doorstep with a hundred pound fine for parking in their car park on a previous visit. Despite me being a patient who had already paid lots of money for treatment, and followed all the steps about telling them you have parked there. Park on the street, come by bus, park in a public car park, walk or cycle, but whatever you do, do not use the car park belonging to this dental surgery.

The car park is not ran by the practice it is under an independent company, we are aware however of an issue with the system and are working with the company to ensure that patients receive the correct compensation regarding this.

Fantastic experience: Professional, friendly and caring. Took time to listen to problem and concerns. The dentist took my concerns into consideration when doing the interim treatment and explained clearly what would happen next. An emergency referral was done and 5 days later I went and had the problem resolved. Would highly recommend joining this surgery. I've been with them for over a decade now.

Negative experience: Arrived 50 minutes early at the dentist inorder to find parking space. Informed the receptionist that mum will not be able to go upstairs for treatment. She said yes we know you have requested it in the form. I was happy to know that they do read the information I put on there. Appointment was for 16:05 didn't get called till 16:40. Was called upstairs. I refused said mum cannot climb the stairs. Two other patients were seen before my mum could be seen downstairs. When I complained they told me they are preparing the room. Unexpectable behaviour from the assistance very rude.
